Betting The Bucs (Week 6 Edition)

October 12th, 2025

Through five weeks in this space, Joe is up $122.00 this season. What a public service Joe has provided!

Disclaimer: Do NOT wager if losing will ruin your life, or day, or week.

Betting The Bucs is a open window into Joe’s pregame bets tied to the Buccaneers. Joe would say it’s all in fun, but this is business. (In-game wagers are best for processing the best information, but Joe cannot take that on here in real-time.)

Florida sports betting is blessed by the government through Hard Rock Bet, the source of the betting lines here.

Joe’s Week 5 picks can be seen here. For today’s Bucs game in Tampa hosting the 49ers, Joe has a few selections:

*Joe will start by saying 49ers starting QB Mac Jones ate just one sack last week in 50-plus dropbacks against a Rams pass rush that is much better than Tampa Bay’s. Also, the veteran Jones is banged up and likely will be quick to unload the ball to preserve his health. As for Baker Mayfield, his pass protection has been strong and the 49ers have an anemic rush this season with Joey Bosa (injured) out of the lineup.

*Bucs fans aren’t going to like this, but six catches for Emeka Egbuka would be a big number today as he fights off double teams all day as the Bucs’ No. 1 target. Joe likes the +115 odds on this. Joe expects the Bucs to spread the ball around and run well against San Francisco, much like the Rams did 10 days ago. Joe’s predicting Egbuka has 5 catches for 81 yards.

*Nothing significant invested here but Joe has a good feeling about the Bucs looking for early and easy completions versus pushing the ball into Emeka Egbuka, who is sure to draw double coverage. The +240 line here is much better than what was available on Cade Otton.

Good luck!

Feeling really good about my $30 on Bake for MVP at 32 to 1.

Did do $24 on the Bucs -3.5 to win today. First time Vegas has believed in the Bucs in a while. Like all the mentioned bets. Too hard to make last minute bets here. Got to go to the casino to do.

Will be in TPA for the NE game. Will be playing no limit poker at the Hard Rock. Be cool if we could get a Joe Bucs Fan poker game after the NE game.

    Reverse jinx on e2!

I’m taking the over on that one, basically because the Bucs won’t have much of a choice but to manufacture throws to him.

Not sure what the line is for yards for Jones, but whatever number they give, take the over.
