Cam Newton Gives MVP Address For Baker Mayfield

Retired MVP quarterback Cam Newton joining ESPN TV as a football analyst is quite a marriage.
He’s got a lot to say and, frankly, Joe expects Newton to be canceled by Big Mouse at some point.
But while Newton’s featuring on First Dump First Take lasts, Joe will enjoy it. This week, Newton was crowing about how Baker Mayfield is his league MVP through five games.
“Man, I mean this boy been ballin’,” Newton told his ESPN audience. “I mean ballin’ out of control,”
Newton is impressed with Mayfield’s stats and how he’s carrying himself and taking backups to great heights.
“And he’s leaning in. I can appreciate that because don’t be no robot out there. Don’t be Pinocchio. Don’t nobody like Pinocchio. When you see Baker Mayfield play, he got a salt, he got the swag, he got the bravado, he got the aura,” Newton said.
“You know what I’m sayin’? He has all that with him and I enjoy it from the fan. Just how he’s playing and leaning in, and still doing it without his top-tier guys. And that’s something that needs to be said about Baker.”
Joe is enjoying all the Mayfield hype. It’s deserved. And it could last a long while if Mayfield can keep the Bucs humming — at least the offense — through the next three games before the Bucs’ Week 9 bye.

I like what Newton said but don’t think he should be experimenting with his fashion style on a sports show.
Not really the time and place…. but that’s the only place he gets “seen” these days I suppose.

If anyone was still curious as to who the Bucs true rival is in the division… I think the media talking heads have put that to rest.
Newton, Kuechly, Ryan are all fairly quick to praise Baker and understand the division currently goes through Tampa.
Brees and Cam Jordan on the other hand…
I hope those guys mugs and quotes are on the board before week 8 (?), Saints need to go down hard, twice.

Thought Brees had at least a little class thought wrong but Scam Jo’dan isn’t nothing but a thought expect none from him. He’s still butt hurt we didn’t sign him. I’m sure some of us are too still. Maybe Newton will at least get the rest of the league mouth breather to post more attention to the Bucs and hopefully Bowles defense can get better along the way

Cam Newton played at 6’5” 245 and proved that size isn’t as important as believed. He was out of the game at 32 while Baker is just settling into a nice 5-7 year stretch——we hope.
Hat choice is entertaining which, I guess, is the point?

Cam has always been out of the norm with his wardrobe. When he went to the podium after a game, you never knew what outfit you would see. Sort of like that time when Fitz was wearing the bling. Fun times.
Yesterday while driving to different places and listening to the radio, Rock Riley said “be you” and that has stayed with me this morning. At first Rock was talking about Baker and then about himself on the radio station. Rings true about Cam.
Baker is the real deal. What we see is what we get and we are loving it all. Hoping to hear, “Baker where are you going after the Super Bowl, and he says they are going to Disney World!”
