“We’re Tough As Hell”

October 5th, 2025

The Bucs scored on their opening drive for a change and kept pouring it on Seattle over and over and over again to the tune of 38 points and 426 yards.

“We’re tough as hell,” Baker Mayfield said after the game.

Mayfield continued on the Buccaneers Radio Network to praise his team and how they executed confidently en route to the back-and-forth 38-35 win.

“We believed the whole time,” Mayfield said. “Never flinching even when the score was going back and forth.”

Rachaad White also lauded how well the Bucs stick together and what a dangerous bunch they’ll be when Mike Evans and Bucky Irving get healthy.

Joe agrees completely. Today certainly wasn’t the defense’s day and the offense was there to throw knockout blow after knockout blow.

Stunning win by the Bucs. Mayfield had seven pass catchers haul in 3 or more balls. That’s rare stuff.

Rookies, veterans, running backs, and even a tight end sighting for a change — somebody give Josh Grizzard a game ball.

The Putrid Pass Defense is still Putrid! And now our Kickoff Teamm allows returns to the 50 every time. Thank God for Baker! This Team knows how to win!

  2. Steven #55 Says:

Tell me we are leaving Seattle injury free

  3. Miller5252 Says:

Baker, double E and David covered a lot of stench today. We need a real DE so bad! This offense is going to be scary when everyone returns from injury! If we can keep teams under 24 points when everyone healthy we should be able to win against anyone

  4. Tye Says:

    WHOOOAAA!
    Them Bucs got an offense!!!

Defense is as subpar as their DC but the offense bailed them out…
    What a game…

  5. Steven007 Says:

From one Steven to another, I second that remark.

  6. LakelandBuc Says:

This team is finding ways to win
    They’re overcoming injuries and adversity
There’s no quit in them, they’re well coached

They have the making of a great team

  7. HC Grover Says:

Bake was amazing and EEK too.

  8. George R Says:

We have 3 starters coming back soon on offense. You might se Bucky and Evans back next week

  9. NCbucfan Says:

Sorrry about your prediction Mr cooter!

  10. BucVoyager Says:

    1. Bucs should have drafted Jihaad Campbell instead of Emeka Egbuka
    2. Trade White because we don’t need him. Tucker is a better back
    3. Cut Tez, he’s too little to make plays in the NFL
    4. Cut Baker because Trask is better and just hasn’t gotten a chance

So glad fans here don’t make the decisions

  11. Oneilbuc Says:

Baker has played good all year but this defense got to get better but glad we won the game.

  12. Baking with Grizz Says:

    Egbuka has 445 yards already!!!!!!

    LFG!!!!!

  13. Hammerhead Says:

A very nice transcontinil flight for Bucs

  14. ocala Says:

Offense is incredible. Special Teams coach needs to be left in Seattle. Worst special teams coach in the league by a long shot.

  15. DBS Says:

I guess the Seattle defense sucks too. After all 38 points.

  16. James west Says:

George I seen bucky will miss the niner game also

  17. Couch Fan Says:

Offense is tough for sure. Defense is soft as charmin though. Absolute trash.

  18. D-Rome Says:

I guess Mrs. Cooter was wrong again!

  19. orlbucfan Says:

EE2, CG14, Otton. and White are competent receivers. I’m glad we won. and if LVD doesn’t get into Canton. I’ll be ready to go to war.

  20. Zoocomics Says:

There wasn’t a whole lot of weaknesses on this Seattle offense. This was the first time I watched them this season and they are talented at all levels. We had pretty damn good coverage on some of those catches, and they didn’t drop a whole lot. Again, don’t like the calls that went against us…the illegal contact called on McCollum when Winfield picked Darnold, meh.

And yet we still have yet to see the best of this Bucs team. Great win. Let’s retool and get ready for San Fran next week.

  21. Cybersecurity_intern Says:

When is the defense day Joe? Never?

  22. Beeej Says:

Happy for Tez, he got to play, and play WELL, in front of his people

  23. SenileSenior Says:

Again I will say it. We were well prepared in spite of our injuries. Todd Bowles is a good head coach!

    Go Bucs!!

  24. Hodad Says:

Bowles needs to find a new STs coach, and a new DC.

  25. Gipper Says:

This defense looks identical to the one that allowed Cousins to have two career games against the Bucs last year. Cousins didn’t do well against anyone else last year and now is a backup. Tampa Bay will continue to entertain but this team is not going far in the playoffs with a Swiss cheese defense. I like Todd Bowles but dislike his DC. It was shameful to extend his contract without proof of defensive improvement.

  26. BucDan Says:

Plays to close out the game or lead to it, were there. Missed sack for TD and Diaby

  27. Saskbucs Says:

What a win is right. 4-1 is huge and should be decent chance to go 5-1. The rest advantage for SF sucks but they are coming off big division win like Seattle and so could be tough for them to get up again. Bucs need to start fast. TDs instead of FGs this time. Evans would be a huge help.

Did not like what happened to the D after 25 mins of play. They looked pretty good and then were Swiss cheese. Tough bye week for the Dixie Chicks. All 3 NFCS teams winning.

Refs sucked in the 2nd half. The McCollum penalty was weak unless I missed a facemask grab but I just saw a hand in the chest up high for a second. Roughing the passer… come on. The illegal formation!? Someone investigate the non sense.

  28. JustOneGame Says:

    4-1 LFG!!

  29. BridleOaksBuc Says:

    They’re tough as hell…
    I’m exhausted…
    Go Bucs!!

  30. Kenton Smith Says:

Couch, our defense made 2 plays that the Seattle defense couldn’t make. It’s a team game and we are winning the close games this year. That’s a good sign. A very, very good sign.

  31. BucsOnDeck24 Says:

Don’t forget about Luke Geodoke! When those three some back the offense should really be something. We were also down 2 of our top CBs today. Hopefully that explains why the defense was a sieve.

  32. firethecannons Says:

It was an incredible offensive display, Baker to Egbuka was amazing, Godwin was not productive–please address that Joe.

  33. Pelsbuc61 Says:

Without Baker and Ebuka, Bucs are 0-5. They are the present and future stars. Now about that defense. Damn.

  34. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Why are all the 20/20 hindsight draftniks popping out the woodwork?

As a staunch Baker Mayfield critic I have nothing but props and adoration for the way he played today. Shut me right tf up, but as the lil boy once said “please sir, can we have some more” of that?!

Mind you, this is the same offense a lot of you have been shooting bail for all season long, they looked good today and the biggest difference was-say it with me-execution. Damn near on an elite level

  35. firethecannons Says:

BridleOaks says he is exhausted–me too, I cannot handle it well and have to put it on mute which helps. I often have irregular heart rhythm during Bucs games as well. Anyway i feel great now. lol

  36. BigZ Says:

Happy we won, but the D as we have said for several years has zero pass rush. JL needs to come off some the cap money and get the DL/ edge some help. Check with Cincy on Hendrickson.

  37. Allen Lofton Says:

Hey. Lighten up. The the were missing their two defensive corners and still pulled out heartache win.

It’s a team with true grit. Right now they are not making it look pretty but awin is a win.

The Bucs will need some rest to face the 4 and 1 49ers. Probably another nail 💅 bitter.

  38. MJ Says:

i have so much nervous energy im almost too anxious to watch the game, cleaned the whole house while watching every play!! biting my nails and screaming

  39. Vanessa Anne Says:

That was an amazing offensive performance!

The 50-yard Baker bomb to Emeka was a thing of beauty.

I don’t think we’ve seen anything like that from Baker since he’s gotten here.

And, Emeka certainly had a heck of a game, as well.

I personally was thrilled to see Tez get some playing time and make some contributions.

Genius move on his part to drop to the ground and let those two defenders crash into each other!

I thought the O Line held up pretty well today. It wasn’t perfect, but it was good enough that we were able to free up Cade for some downfield catches.

We would be crazy not to resign Rachaad.

  40. MJ Says:

I HATE THE 49ERS!!! MUST WIN GAME NEXT SUNDAY JUST TO BEAT THOSE DEVILS!!!

  41. BucVoyager Says:

Godwin took all year to get over his last major injury. Emeka is the #1 receiver right now until Godwin gets his feet under him.

  42. Woodman Says:

Suck it Couch Fan.. We did not loose because of defense they made a play at the end to win it can’t give credit to the offense for that.

  43. St.Pete Salty Buc Says:

FTC hop off Godwin’s nizuts. He was the best receiver in the league before his injury. Let these young guns shine, Godwin heal and your mouth rest. Thank you.

  44. Sapp 2 Fundamentally Sound Says:

Seattle made plays today on offense.
Hats off to Sam Darnold he made plays under pressure. He made plays without pressure too many times as well but he made a few plays barely escaping a few times especially on that 4th down.

Baker is elite so is Buka.

Bucs defense is getting better. You can see it more and more in each game. No they are not dominant and in today’s NFL probably never will be. Bucs DBs were in good position on several play’s today where it was simply a perfect throw and catch. That was not the case last year. Last year when we were carved up so often the WRs were wide open. This year we are in position to defend on the back end over half the time. You can see the difference big time. Out LB play is our weakest link consistently this year in pass coverage. Yes our pass rush is our weakest link still but our back end is a lot better. Today we were missing some quality DBs but still over half the time they were in position.
    Bucs are getting better!

  45. Buc king Says:

So whose talking bad on our o coordinator?

lol wait.. you think that the ONE PLAY (which was really just a matter of luck that the ball hit the helmet and we got the interception) makes them deserving of any credit for the win?? they didn’t show up for any other part of the game.

  47. sunny Says:

darnold had all day to throw the ball.. zero pressure. the defense let them literally walk into the end zone three times.

  48. Kenton Smith Says:

Vanessa Anne, that was real! funny Tez causing that collision! He has always been little. He’s had to learn to get down and man he’s good at it!

  49. orlbucfan Says:

Bucs had 4 receiving weapons and they used them: White, EE2, Godwin (who was on vacation) and Otton. Hats off to Grizzard and the entire Buc team. Plus, and this is a bit disturbing. The refs called a fair game. Go back and review the game recordings. I listened to it on radio. Sports fans will get sick of this kind of corruption. I am.

  50. Mike Johnson Says:

Still concerned about our lack of a pass rush but..in this NFL? You take’em anyway you can get’em. Thats gonna be a good plane ride back home cross country. Good win.

  51. 813bucboi Says:

    Great win

Defense will get better….Seattle is a very good team…

    Great win Bucs

    GO BUCS

  52. Hydra Says:

What?. 4-1 with all the injuries? Incredible

  53. Jeff and Jack's grandpa Says:

Cooter imagine family you lost like in real life

  54. Gipper Says:

    WarrenBrooksLynch,

Don’t worry. Real football fans never take anything you say about Mayfield seriously. Nobody cares what you think about Mayfield. Your credibility regarding Mayfield is as low as RodMunch. You guys need new screen names. Just disappear and come back with better attitudes about Bucs elite QB #6.

  55. 813bucboi Says:

    Baker stepped up today

No TOs or poor decisions…he played smart football and his accuracy was perfect

    Offensive Execution was elite today….

    4-1

    GO BUCS

  56. purplebeard Says:

I’m confused. All preseason I read about Reddick being the edge rusher we’ve been looking for. Yet he seems to be in coverage more times than not. Am I missing something?

  57. Obvious One Says:

    @purplebeard

Yeah, you were missing Reddick! Apparently his new role on the team is the Invisible man….

  58. purplebeard Says:

Obvious one, maybe bowles has forgotten all the hype he threw on Reddick in the summer. Let the guy do what he does best.
