Uplifting Report On Greg Gaines

So veteran defensive tackle Greg Gaines, who’s been starting in place of Calijah Kancey, left Sunday’s game with a pectoral injury.
Those can be nasty and it’s the same injury that will have Kancey on the shelf for the rest of the year.
While Joe would love to see more of new signing Elijah Simmons (is this guy as strong as he looked on Sunday?), losing Gaines would be a brutal blow.
Like many fans, Joe heard pec injury and thought surgery was imminent, but Todd Bowles said yesterday he’s “hopeful” Gaines returns this week. That was music to Joe’s ears on the Buccaneers Radio Network.
Even if Gaines needs a few weeks to recover, that’s far better than losing him indefinitely.

bowles had gaines playing DT and stuffing the run….
everyone knows on that play, gaines shouldve been subbed out by roberts….
another reason why this team cant win…bowles doesnt know when to sub players in and he still cant predict when a player will get hurt….

I’m with you 813 – the guys play hard, and turned the eagles game in to a street fight. That’s coaching. Players respond to him, and has absolutely nailed every decision for offensive coordinator. And for all the complaints about soft zone coverage – he’s actually played man far more often this year.

Gaines is tough but tiny.
I know we are loyal franchise.
But we needed an upgrade at backup NT.
Going from Vea to Gaines is a huge dropoff.
I really hope we re-sign Vea AND spend a 2nd round pick next year on a huge DT.

Bucky was injured like this when he played for Oregon. They will wrap it and give him some meds. Most likely he will be able to play.
