Adjustment Going Back To Normal Position?
September 28th, 2025
Smooth move back to LG.
There’s a good chance there will be another shakeup with the Buss offensive line today. But this time, it will be for a good reason, not injuries.
If Bucs All-Pro left tackle Tristan Wirfs returns today, Joe has a hunch the Bucs will stabilize the left side of one of the best offensive lines in the game: Graham Barton back to center, Ben Bredeson at left guard and Wirfs at left tackle.
Last week, Joe asked Bredeson if there would be an adjustment after three games playing center, perhaps rust, flipping back to left guard.
“Yeah — I mean, whenever that happens, hopefully not,” Bredeson said.
Bredeson is smart with his comments. He’s always very guarded and careful with his choice of words. Upon pausing, Bredeson said, no, there shouldn’t be any rust to shake off.
“I’ve had a lot of experience [at left guard],” Bredeson said. “And you know, hopefully, it’s just getting back into the swing of things.”
So there you have it from the old man of the Bucs’ offensive line. If he doesn’t believe he will be rusty moving back to left guard for the first time this season, then Graham and Wirfs should be OK.

He looked good at Center, to my untrained eyes.

Ahh, this means he will be taking snaps as a long snapper and to take some of Calijah Kancey’s snaps on defense. No one would expect it.

Bredeson is solid. Durable! Great addition to the line. Has he missed a game since getting the starting job? Go Bowles!

How about Barton at LT, Wirfs at RT, Bredeson at C. Lock up the edges.

He looked good at center. He’s very big with a heavy lower body. He set a good anchor.
I think Barton would make a better left guard because he is much quicker and faster than Brederson.
Brederson has kinda slow feet.
I think Brederson and Barton should swap positions

Glad to hear it. Last year with Barton at Center and Bredeson at Left Guard we were our strongest run blocking team in years maybe Bucs history. Then when we get Goedeke back, we just see those elite results again.
These guys on the site who suggest otherwise were likely the same guys saying Goedeke and Cappa were no good or playing out of position.

Barton will have a turnover worthy bad snap today. Not a natural center. He’d make a great guard.

I’ve been thinking Ben looks good at C and Graham would make a great LG with Klein at RG

I hate to bring up the past players but Hainsey is playing like a top Center.

At this time of the season most players carry a bit of rust. Who will start at right guard?

It’s really about getting the best 5 on the field. I have a feeling leaving Barton at LT and moving Wirfs to RT while Goedeke is out might be a better strategy short term, but we’ll see what they do.

In Carberry I trust, too. I also remember all the grief Goedeke took on this site when he first became a Buc. Well, how times have changed! Go Cardiac Bucs, 4-0!!!!!!

Whatever the team feel is best…so long as the DC does go into a prevent defense.
