Luke Goedeke Has A Foot Injury; Status Unclear
September 11th, 2025[UPDATE: 3:39 p.m.] More injuries on the Buccaneers’ offensive line.
Head coach Todd Bowles today said starting right tackle Luke Goedeke did not practice because of a foot injury suffered Sunday against the Falcons. Bowles said his status is unclear.
In a stunning development that likely is nothing more than gamesmanship, Bowles said freshly-practice Tristan Wirfs, who is still limited by his knee surgery recovery, could be in play for Monday night’s game in Houston. However, Bowles said Wirfs has several tests to pass before he’ll be cleared for a game.
[UPDATE: 3:39 p.m.] Joe was in the Bucs locker room this afternoon as the doors were flung open for the local pen and mic club. Joe saw Goedeke walk out and just with the eyeball test, it doesn’t appear Goedeke has a major foot injury.
Goedeke walked out of the locker room without the aid of any apparatus. No walker or cane. He wasn’t wearing a boot. In fact, Goedeke wasn’t even wearing socks. Nor was a foot wrapped.
Goedeke walked out of the locker room barefoot, wearing sandals. Joe didn’t notice Goedeke walking with any noticable limp.
Just using the eyeball test, it seems like the Bucs were just taking precautions with Goedeke. If he does have a significant injury to his foot, he did a quality job of hiding it from prying eyes like Joe’s.

The Genius with another misdirection. Can’t wait for Licht to reveal our next Oline 15 minutes prior to the game. This is fun.Todd the mastermind manipulator.
Staying positive about Todd. People’s feelings get hurt around here if anyone makes fun of our frail HC.

Our O-line depth and versatility being tested early this season.

It’s basically 5 days until gametime. Vita had a foot injury last week and wound up playing.
It would be ironic if Wirfs came back for Monday and Barton went to RT.

Confusion all around. Barton left tackle wirfs back to right tackle. Go Bowles!

“My next door neighbors kid is huge, and has really good footwork. Let’s put him at right guard and move Cody to right tackle. We’ll be fine.” – Jason Licht, Offensive Lineman Whisperer
“Wow, What a great job by emergency the O- line.” – Baldy, Tuesday morning

Houston’s HUGE D is going to pummel the Bucs. This will not be pretty. Texans 30 Bucs 11. Bucs score a TD, 2pt Conversion and FG in the last 5 minutes after Texas puts in all of their subs. The injuries will add up, too. Houston is a PHYSICAL team. Not soft like TB and Clueless Todd.

Hope you aren’t gambling with these predictions.

MEDICAL REPORT JUST IN
Goe bruised the top of his foot from kicking Atlanta’s ass on Sunday. Embuka and AWJ are suffering from the same ailment.
When asked about this condition, Bucs Team Doctor said, “We anticipate a long year of foot pain for the Bucs.”

Jeff, if you’re so sure why not make it interesting? I’ll take the Bucs at +19 and generously keep the return at -250 to keep you from bankruptcy LOL.
Deal?

Have I mentioned how much I hate artificial turf? Our big guys should be wearing gel inserts in their shoes whenever we play on that garbage.

Jeff you should change your name to Karen. Or maybe Debbie downer….anyways I feel the Bucs win by two TDs and my name is Jeff too! Go Bucs!

Jeff and Whatevs = perfect match. These two would have never survived the Bucs Dark Ages.

Ouch!
This could be a little bit of misdirection.
Or, as Joe says, just an abundance of precaution.
Either way, I hope it’s nothing serious. Houston’s D is a much bigger challenge than the Falcons’ D was. We’re going to need him.
