It’s hard to sack the QB when you’re hanging out 20 yards deep in empty zone coverage.

  2. Bucswin Says:

He will get 6 just against atl in those 2 games. And maybe a couple int’s thanks to the head coach for putting him into coverage at just the right moments. #teamposiive Go Bowles!

  3. Cometowin2 Says:

10 for Hassan and if Yaya gets 10 also we get to the Super Bowl!

  4. Kenton Smith Says:

He likes it here. That fact paves the way for a career year. How about them apples?!!

  5. Matt Says:

Im not very bullish on the defense I put 6. I hope I am wrong. I think the defense still has too many needs. They could not get off the field last year it was frustrating to watch.

  6. Obvious One Says:

The sad news is as other comments have noted, Bowles idea of a “pass rusher” is NOT that of the rest of the world’s idea of Just What “Rushing the Quarterback” looks like, IS performed, and ESPECIALLY HOW IT’S EXECUTED!

You’d might well be justified asking on a pole how many sacks that the under 200lb secondary will get. Because THAT IS pass rushing to him.

All those juggernauts on the D line and Especially on the edges (IN HIS MIND) are actually “Pass Coverage”.

Don’t “expect” a high sack rate from the front line. That’s simply NOT HOW Bowles runs “his” defense….. BOWLES WON’T ALLOW IT!!!

  7. David Says:

The top five answers are 8 or above, if he does that, plus what Kancey and Yaya are going to do… They are absolutely a legitimate Super Bowl contender

I put 9 in the poll a couple of hours ago.

The push in this blog to have a player get to 10 sacks in a season is way over exhausted.

Lots of ways to win in the NFL and getting a guy to double digit sacks is not any real identifier of who gets in or wins a Super Bowl.

Last year neither Philadelphia nor KC had a double-digit sack guy. When Philly last won the Super Bowl in 2017 — they did not have a double-digit sack guy.

My gosh — New England went to the Super Bowl 4 years out of 5 back from 2014 through the 2018 seasons. In none of those Super Bowl attending years did they ever have a guy over 8 sacks.

So, personally — I am ok with our DL man not having a bunch of sacks compared to the TJ Watts of the world.

Lots of ways to win in the NFL — and suggesting that you “need” a Defensive lineman to be dominant in getting sacks — is just false.

  9. Obvious One Says:

Btw, eve though I think Bowles idea of how you structure a pass rush isn’t conducive in Any kind of a traditional manner…..

I Still Have Reddick down for 8 because of his extraordinary pedigree. I hope for the “sake of the game” and of course for the Greater Good of my Bucs that he can get at least 8 “in spite of” Bowles and his “Bizarro World” points of views and so called “strategies”

You CAN BELIEVE that the ENTIRE LEAGUE Will Be looking for that Sweet Spot Right in the middle of our defense… with AMPLE ROOM for loosing the defenders that are obscurly out of position play after play….

It’s a miserable clown show but it’s been exactly as planned for the last two years running. I’m just wondering if Bowles is going to Continue his support of the Abuse that “his secondary” has had to embarrassingly suffer per HIS instructions???……!

  10. LakelandBuc Says:

I think Hassan Reddick will get about 7 sacks in this defense. Sacks means nothing to Todd Bowles. He’s more interested in stopping the run, and not giving up the big play..

  11. mj Says:

think about it bro if he gets one a game that’s 17 he may not do that but he could get 11 or 12 easy if he plays like he did most of his career maybe better?

  12. MelvinJunior Says:

So about 85% believe he will have 8 to 12+ SACKS this season… Did I see and read that right!? WOW. That is some major optimism there. 85%. Wonder what his Vegas ‘betting-line’ is right now!? So, who’s betting THE FARM on the ‘over’ then!? I wouldn’t think it’d be that high after his last season?

  13. MelvinJunior Says:

Matt says: “They could not get off the field last year it was frustrating to watch.”

At least that should give him plenty of opportunities though!

  14. HC Grover Says:

ROFL….Come on now. this is silly.

  15. Gipper Says:

Not sold on Reddick. Hope he proves me wrong. Will gladly admit my error if I am wrong.

  16. Aqualung Says:

Anyone voting for double digits is hallucinatory about the defensive designs of the guy who reports to the guy who is a coward in the last 2 minutes of games, who is the same guy.

  17. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I have no clue…but I think he’ll have a revival. If he does, he won’t be in TAMPA more than a year or two. Man is all about the money.

The last time the Bucs went all in was JPP and Suh. That’s a combo we’re unlikely to see in the NFL for a while.

  18. garro Says:

Thinking clearly on Reddick? The poll results are astounding.

Have not seen anything from him yet to tell me he is even starter material. Wow!

    Go Bucs!

  19. BayouBullet Says:

The poll results seem to conflict with the comments…how odd
