So what did head coach Todd Bowles do during today’s Buccaneers joint practice against the Titans?
Bowles, also the Bucs’ defensive coordinator, had his eyes all over the Tampa Bay offense all day. He said he’ll rely on the film to study his defense.
So if you hear foul language softly in the distance later today, that’s probably Bowles screaming when he sees cornerback Zyon McCollum drop an interception right in his hands.
Bowles said his naked-eye review of the offense is their needs to be better pass protection up the middle. The head coach didn’t specify if he was talking about the second-team line or the starters, or both.

He is such a good DC that he doesn’t even need to be present to lead it to a 29th ranking against the pass. Couching by osmosis! Cutting edge stuff!

Show me another HC in the history of the NFL, that’s come out of a 4 year stretch with 4 different OCs with a winning record. Also, any defensive minded coach, whether DC/HC spends countless ours schemeing against….drumroll plz…..opposing offenses lol

He was talking about both starters and backups. We know that the tackles are the strength of the OLine and that Barton and Mauch are still young.

The ignorant hate some have for Bowles should have ended by now. The man has a lead a massively injury depleted team to division titles the last 2 years when the world said they would be rebuilding. He has generated the 3rd best sack total in the NFL the last 5 years without a consistent 4-man pass rush. He has constantly changed coverage schemes because half the secondary is missing each year. Meanwhile the offense is about to be top 3 in the NFL for the second straight year and if they can stay a little healthier on D, they are a legit SB contender.
