The Bucs Know They Are Good

August 1st, 2025

Confidence.

Yeah, Jamel Dean went there.

Yesterday morning after Bucs training camp practice, Dean actually said he thinks the Bucs are a better team now than when they won the Super Bowl in 2020.

Dean wasn’t shooting his mouth off. He gave thoughtful reasons. Interesting stuff.

What Dean said yesterday backs up what prickly Pete Prisco of CBS suggested last week. When Prisco visited Bucs training camp, he got the vibe the team knew it was good. And Prisco liked that aura he felt.

It’s not an obnoxious attitude. Joe gets what Prisco is saying. It’s more confidence than cocky — the Bucs are not cocky. But they know if they play well they can beat anyone. They know they have proven players.

The Bucs are not brash. They are not cocky. They are obnoxious.

But at the same time, they know if they don’t shoot themselves in the foot, they can hang with and defeat anyone.

He is 100% right!! When they are playing well together and mistakes are kept to a minimum they are literally unbeatable. When they are hummin they drive the field and are regularly in the red zone in 6, 7 & 8 plays. They are unstoppable. If Josh G can call plays similar to what he did for 3rd downs last year, we will be the #1 offense. Yes #1 with Josh tearin it up. Tear it up Josh, let’s show them what the Bucs are all about in 2025-2026!!!

This worries me a *little* bit, because I’ve seen the Bucs play some of their worst football when people start telling them they’re really good.

Being better than 2020 is a BOLD statement and hearing similar from media during the first couple of weeks of training camp is SCARY work. Let’s just back it up with play.

    Superbowl incoming

They don’t play well when they’re comfortable and confident. I’m worried about a slow start. Good news is, if that happens they play great when they’re humble and scrapping…

I agree, Jason has built a stacked roster. There’s just one big problem. Actually two big half problems.

It’s funny a lot of Bucs fans was ready to chalk in the season after that KC lost
Now all of a sudden the Bucs roaster was so tough lol we had a heck of a playoff run that led to a Super Bowl I think year team can do the same thung

Don’t talk about it be about it. The defense hasn’t played since it stunk out loud last year. Show us you’re good by being able to stop some game winning final drives and getting your butts off the field in three plays or less!

We still need a DT/NT to rotate with Vea.
