Joe enjoyed this clip of Pro Bowl defensive tackle Vita Vea coaching up defensive tackles to act like proper offensive linemen.
And there are other subtleties here, too. Video below. (That’s former Bucs defensive end Robert Ayers, now a Todd Bowles coaching intern, peeking his head in.)
Bucs types often talk about Vea’s leadership, work ethic and consistency. That’s likely why teammates have voted him a team captain the past three years. This is just one small example.
Also worth noting is Vea, at 30 years old in his eighth season in the trenches, has been practicing daily and seems unbothered by the searing heat. Warrior!

A decade from now it will be fun to reflect on his amazing return to action during his first Super Bowl run. His come back sparked the whole defense in the nfc championship and Super Bowl! Can’t wait to see what he does getting his second ring. GO BUCS
