Boy, The PFF Tribe Really Dislikes Calijah Kancey
July 4th, 2025
Unhinged critique.
We’ve reached Joe’s favorite holiday of the year!
Yes, Joe likes Fourth of July better than Thanksgiving. It’s close. Really close.
Thanksgiving means scarfing down unlimited amounts of grub and alcohol while watching football. Tough to beat.
Except the Fourth of July means summer! We’re outside. Often on the water. Enjoying the scenery with lovely lasses wearing limited clothing. Advantage: Fourth of July.
So, in the spirit of celebrating Uncle Sam’s birthday, Joe brings you a real howler. The PFF tribe believes the Bucs have the No. 27 defensive line.
Yes, the same awful line that includes Vita Vea. LOL
Now to be a little fair to the PFF tribe, they do include outside linebackers in their definition of defensive line. So Joe gets that outside linebackers would drag the Bucs’ ranking down.
But geez Louise, do these clowns really hate Calijah Kancey. These bozos and their GD grades think Kancey is a total sieve, about on the same level as kneeling Akeem Spence, maybe worse. Talk about out of touch.
And their hatred of Kancey is a big reason why the tribe believes the Bucs have a rotten defensive line.
Let’s use a little reason here: The Bucs allowed the fourth-fewest yards on the ground last year yet the PFF tribe thinks the Bucs have the fifth-worst defensive line.
Does the PFF tribe really believe Joe Tryon-Shoyinka was that much of an animal against the run?
How drunk do you have to be to think a defense that allowed the fourth-fewest rushing yards also possesses the fifth-worst defensive line?
If the Bucs had that terrible of a front line, and if Kancey really was that bad, teams would have slammed the ball into the middle of the Bucs defense time and time again, week after week.
Joe really wants to know what this Zoltán Buday of the PFF tribe is drinking because it has to be better than some of the quality drink Joe has had recently, including Barrel King Knighted bourbon and Augustiner-Bräu Helles Lager (which Joe years ago gave up looking for thinking it wasn’t sold in America and then found it on a shelf by accident — in Pasco County no less!).
Below is another example of how the tribe’s dumbass grades have been exposed. How long will Cris Collinsworth continue to tolerate this public shame?
@theoashnfl Many of Minkah’s “TDs allowed” were the result of bad zone coverage from the rest of the defense #greenscreen #nfl #football #sports ♬ original sound – Theo Ash

I just hope that Kancey manages to stay healthy during this year’s training camp and does not have to miss time at the beginning of the 2025 season for yet another calf injury…

If he dominates they will change what they write. Who cares? Kid promised to dominate. I’m here for it

That’s ridiculous. Is there criteria strictly sacks? YaYa registered in the top 10 of damn near every stat except sacks for a DE. Now they have Reddick on the other side. Calijah Has proven he’s a beast at rushing the past or when healthy.
And VEA is one of the top DT’s in all of the NFL
These people are clueless

IF is a big word this year.
IF Calijah stays healthy….
IF Hassan is who we think he will be…
IF Yaya is who we think he is….
IF our defense stays relatively healthy….
IF Todd is “that coach” when it comes to defense….
This year can be special.

If all those things happen we win a SB.
If 3 of them are true we might win it all.
As for Calijah Kancey, he will write his own story.
Who cares what PFF thinks. They have been way wrong before.
I for one think 12-15 sacks this year.

IF drunkbucsfan had a sober thought. IF. Our slime is good our talent level is good. Just get a defensive coach that is not so predictable. Toilet Bowles stink

Bucs will be fine if we had a head coach with a brain

“We’re outside. Often on the water.” And yet…never seen an alligator in the wild? Hmmmmmm….suspicious. Happy 4th Bucs fans!

Joe sounds like he might’ve been tapping into the bourbon while he was writing this post. Worst part of the offseason. It’s almost over everyone!

July 4th better than Thanksgiving!? Cmon Joe, unless ur 6 yrs old and never have seen fireworks, its not even close
July 4th, 2025 at 8:44 am
Hey Calijah, figure out that calf and get off to a fast start this year! Punish Penix in game one!
July 4th, 2025 at 9:05 am
LOL…maybe because teams were passing much more than running the ball as they knew ANY QB could pass for 300+ yards against the Bucs.
I would LOVE to see a game where ANY Bucs DL, Kancey, Vea, Reddick, Diaby take over a game. Hasn’t really happened yet to my knowledge.

Scotty in Fat hit the nail on the head. So Joe, where did Bucs defense rank in rushing yards per attempt?
July 4th, 2025 at 9:36 am
Right there with ya @JimBobBuc.

They probably missed the disguises. The DL is really the secondary, and vice versa, in Todd’s defense. Any analytic on the defense has an appropriate negative. Like allowing the 4th fewest rushing yards. Misleading. Who wants to run when you have an 85% chance of completing a 7 or 10 yard pass?
July 4th, 2025 at 9:45 am
Our local pen and mic club love to tout our ‘stars’ on D. But there are really only three. Vita, who plays about 55% of the snaps. LVD – my favorite Buc but clearly in his twilight. And AWJ – who may have played injured last season but who nevertheless stunk up the joint.
Kancey – how about a full season. Dennis – how about any season. YaYa – did he actually suit up last season. Dean – still suffering from pine splinters. Zyon – c’mon man.
So, how shocking is it that we get no respect.

When he’s on, CK is practically unblockable. I won’t be surprised to see 12-14 sacks out of him this year.
I like the diss articles. Hopefully he reads them.

Kancey has extreme strengths and weaknesses. He’s awful when he had to stunt. He often gets completely washed out of run plays (hence he has so few “missed tackles” because he’s not close enough to make a tackle). But strictly rushing the QB in a straight line, he’s very good.
