“Best Offense In The League, That’s The Goal.”
June 26th, 2025
“Grizz is fearless, Mike.”
The message was firm and clear as tight end Cade Otton broke a spring practice huddle.
“Keep working. Best offense in the league. That’s the goal. Offense on three — 1, 2, 3, offense!” Otton barked to his Bucs teammates.
The scene was captured in a video on the Buccaneers’ official website. Otton was seen addressing the offense after rookie offensive playcaller Josh Grizzard talked to the group.
“Grizz,” as he’s known, was interviewed in the same video. It’s obvious that he’s holding himself and his offense to an extreme standard.
“When people watch our film, our hope and what we’re trying to design right now through the strength and conditioning, is that we’re going to be a disciplined team. We’re going to play longer and harder than the next opponent,” Grizzard said.
“I know that’s how we look at it when we’re preparing for a defense. ‘How hard is this team willing to play? Can they play as hard in the fourth quarter as they can in the first quarter?'”
Can the Bucs improve their output after scoring 29.5 points per game last season? That’s a huge total and was fourth-highest in the NFL.
The biggest question mark is Grizzard himself, but he’s certainly not lacking a shred of confidence. And after hearing Otton and Grizzard, it’s obvious Grizzard is demanding greatness — for 60 minutes.
The Lions averaged 33.5 points per game last season to lead the NFL. Why not the Bucs?

It IS achievable….
Top 5 OLine
Top 10 QB
Top 5 WRs
Top 5 RBs
Top 15 TEs
This Buccaneers offense is LOADED! (Feels like a dream – How many seasons in the first 45 years of this team’s existence could that phrase be uttered…. ZERO!)

Just never take the foot off the gas and play to lose. If up by 2 TD’s go ahead and score another one. It is your job to score, it is their job to stop you. When they give up trying to stop you then you can relax, but not until then.
Send fear into the Defenses never back down.

More talent, continuity, and Grizz is superior to Coen (or will be imo)…. The goal on both sides of the ball should be the same = best in the league.
Be the best player, position group, squad, team that you can possibly be everyday…. Keep your head down and incrementally improve every. Hold yourself and your teammates to the same standard and the rewards will manifest in time. Stay hungry 🤘🏼😎

Hope the defense is thinking the same thing. They need to be in the top 10 to support the offense.

Being a Buc fan since relocating almost 40 years ago often had me in a desperate position of Hope and reason for it every mostly painful season. However this Team with this QB and all the recent success makes thinking this season could really be special. This Team is legit and if you’re living in the Bay Area and not on the bandwagon-shame on you as a Football fan. Go Bucs!

We are def loaded but lets be humble. We’re nothing until we win that ultimate goal….SB! Then we’re something. A lot going on right now. Everyone is 0-0 at the moment.

I’m happy for Grizzard and I am excited to see the stamp he puts on the offense. Word out of One Buc Palace is that they will be throwing the long ball more often. Okay. Just hope he is not trying to move the offense away from what Baker and the offense did best last year.

When you have a regressing defense getting worse by the season, this is a vital goal.

What is interesting and exciting to think about is we now have a young man running our whole offense that in 2024 ran 3rd downs so well we were #1 at converting them, #1!! The exciting part on everybody’s mind is what if he can do for our offense what he did for our 3rd down conversion rate? How fun would that be?? It’s not that big of a leap to go from 3rd to first. Detroit was first with 32 points per game. We were third with 29, without one of our best receivers. Thats 1 field goal per game to have the number one offense. Very doable. In fact, I would say it is expected from what we have seen from Grizzard. And then aggressive on to the equation our 2 brand new receivers….yes we should expect to have the most explosive offense we have ever experienced in Tampa Bay!!! And if we can keep him for a couple of years as he perfects his craft, oh my, the future….
