“The Only Ones Out Here After Practice”

June 8th, 2025

Work ethic.

Joe was very happy to see this video. But once it ended, a question arose.

Good guy Brian Baldinger was out at a Bucs OTA practice this week. He wasn’t there when it was open to media (which is when prickly Pete Prisco of CBS showed up). But hey, when you work for NFL Network, certain doors open for you that normally would be shut to others.

In a video Baldinger cut and uploaded to Twitter (currently known as “X”), he showed rookies Emeka Egbuka and Benjamin Morrison working with the JUGS machines after practice.

Baldinger noted he likes the Bucs rookies and thinks they will be a fine addition. And yeah, Joe liked seeing both a No. 1 pick of a receiver and a No. 2 pick of a corner coming back from hip surgery trying to make themselves better.

Good work ethic.

Then Baldinger noted they were the only players after practice working on the JUGS machine. The first thing Joe thought, “Other rookies don’t want to improve?”

But Joe has to be fair. It’s unknown what Baldinger didn’t record. Joe can’t remember a practice where several players weren’t working on the JUGS machines (offense and defense) after it ended. Antoine Winfield is a regular on the JUGS.

Yeah, it’s great to see Egbuka and Morrison getting extra work, but Joe has a hunch there were others.

It’s very possible Baldinger was talking to coaches or Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht after practice and the last two guys on the JUGS were Egbuka and Morrison.

(Anyone see how Licht and Bucs assistant general manager Mike Biehl were with James Hetfield backstage at Friday night’s Metallica concert?)

Whats funny is B-Mo would of been covering Emeka in the Natty

Im sure it would of been a much different game too

    2 great picks

Youll all see what I saw as a notre dame fan

  2. Ed McSherry Says:

Start Morrison from game #1. Let Dean watch.

  3. garro Says:

Otton Shepard Dean Keift Durham any of the other DBs!

All need to be regulars I think

    Go Bucs!

  4. Aqualung Says:

Dean should have a jugs machine at home. Actually several. One in every room, and three outside.

  5. SB~LV Says:

Other players are doing other things related to football at the same time, other players are getting treatment, on and on
But yeah it’s good to hear that they are honing their skills

  6. JimBobBuc Says:

Need more JUGS out there for some live competition on consecutive catches before a drop. All the DB’s at once, then all the WR’s, then mix it up. Loser pays for a steak dinner.

  7. SB~LV Says:

Bucs Mando training next week…. Then they all FO and coaches scatter to the four corners of the world before the long grind to training camp, preseason and finally the start of the Super Bowl run with all the ups and downs of wins and losses, injuries and unknown drama.
    Tic tic tic

  8. Hunter Says:

This kind of thing should have been part of Jamel Dean’s contract. He also needs mandatory hand massages and anything else to legally make those hands softer.

Lewi- agree. Notre Dame shut Ohio State down and really should have won the game when OSU visited Notre Dame last time Morrison played. And specifically Morrison was on Harrison JR all game, and he shut him down. I’ve long advocated Tampa to draft Morrison although I didn’t think there was any chance of that happening, couldn’t believe it when it did. Tampa got a top 15 overall pick in the second round. Bowles gets a lot of crap for his bend but don’t break business but it’s also because of the limitations of his personnel. Morrison should allow Todd to play more of the defense he would prefer and GET OFF THE FIELD. Both him and Parrish will allow bowles to have his corners get in peoples faces more

What an awesome life those guys are living. Working on your craft, with that giant stadium behind them, promising glory in the months and years ahead. Excited for them.

  11. GoneGator Says:

Iron sharpens iron. Great that Morrison and Parrish will be practicing against so many talented recievers. These guys should make it possible to play more cover 1 (man) or cover 2 vs what I believe we majored in last year = cover 3 🤔.

Speaking of defenses – does anyone have stats on how many snaps on D were in what scheme?

    @Defense Rules?

  12. Oneilbuc Says:

I wish they would go back to the old way of practicing . All this safety stuff didn’t do nothing but kill the development of players in the NFL. With the new rules about practicing and how much time players can have with their coaches has destroyed a lot of players that probably could have became hall of famers but didn’t because of the lack of time they can be with their coaches. I miss the way training camp used to be and the time that was put in between the players and the coaches. That’s why I believe the players back then were better because of how training camp used to be.

  13. GoneGator Says:

If Morrison and Parrish are as good as we think they are going to be we could have 4 very good CBs on our squad this season. That could/should open up our defensive playbook and allow us to be more aggressive with our scheme.

  14. BA’s Red Pen Says:

Exit Licht. Enter Night. Take my hand….off to Super Super Bowl Land!

  15. BillyBucco Says:

Dean shouldn’t get any until he catches 400 balls a day.
    IN A ROW.
