How many games did we not have mike evens and Chris Godwin last you both out? This could be the Egbuka McMillan show next year. I hope not but solid necessary pick!

Exactly. I think this pick was every bit as necessary as any defensive pick. Let’s face it, both Godwin and Evans miss multiple games every year. Brady and Baker both have had multiple games where they were trying to win with absolute scrubs at WR.
And, in Licht we trust. I’m sure he had Egbuka graded higher than any defensive player still on the board.
I was laughing about the Cowboys pick, little did I know Jason Licht was going to have a “hold my beer” moment. This isn’t a bad player, but this is an awful pick.
Why couldn’t “confused” be a valid reaction to the Emeka Egbuka pick? He seems like a solid player—almost a Godwin clone is what they say. He blocks better than people give him credit for, he’s not slow (4.49 in the 40), and he’s a selfless, not-so-flashy, reliable wide receiver. He runs great routes, knows how to make plays, can return punts, and should be a good contributor moving forward.
That said, the Bucs already have three wide receivers: Evans, Godwin, and McMillan. I feel like someone like Palmer, Sheppard, or even a later-round guy like Jack Bech could’ve filled that same role just as effectively.
Meanwhile, our defense needs so much help that the pick almost feels like a luxury—**especially with both top safeties and no corners off the board yet either**. Then seeing Derrick Harmon—DT out of Oregon—go right after to Pittsburgh just made me think *he* probably should’ve been the pick.
I’m sure Egbuka will be a solid addition to the team, but right now it just doesn’t feel like a necessity.
Idk Joe! I’m ok with WR but everything I heard pre-draft, especially from Sean Sullivan, said that Golden should’ve been the man! But, Licht has given me no reason to doubt his draft choices. So I will give him benefit of the doubt.
When you have a limited number of picks, and the strength of the draft (defense) can fill the needs of the team, you can’t be making luxury picks.
If the team had extra picks in the next few rounds, I could understand the choice.
But the team isn’t even picking at the top of the round.
This is stranger than the Trask pick. Right up there with Light’s kicker picks.

TAKING A WR OVER SANDERS FALLING TO US AT 19 IS A JOKE!!!”
1. The Bucs don’t need a QB. Drafting Sanders would be idiotic.
2. Sanders is grossly overrated. If his daddy wasn’t prime time, no one would even know who he was.
3. Any team that does draft him, is getting daddy and his traveling sideshow to go with. No thanks.

I’M ECSTATIC! If it wasn’t Ezeiruaku this is the only other player I wanted in the first (that was realistic)

So I guess we out scoring everyone then??? This pick doesn’t make sense for a bottom half pass defense

OROY. I’m putting my bet in now.

Great pick!
I knew we weren’t drafting an edge rusher in RD 1.
That made zero sense.
This is such a savvy pick.

I’d rather bring back Shaq Barrett for depth at Edge rather than draft a guy high for depth this year.
Safety and Corner in Rd 2 and 3 and everything else is icing on the cake and we’re set.

If they think he was the best available player …. you go with that.
