Grok Says…

April 20th, 2025

More artificial intelligence.

Not Gronk, Grok!

Joe thought it was clever of the stenographers at Gannett to have ChatGPT pick the first round the draft, which begins Thursday night. So Joe decided to take this AI thing a step further.

Joe consulted Elon Musk’s Grok AI tool to see who the Bucs will pick. Per Grok, it sifted through information from all kinds of sources to include, per the software, “current team needs, top prospects, and expert analyses from sources like NFL.com, ESPN, and PFF … insights from mock drafts and prospect rankings to align with team strategies and player evaluations.”

So the “intelligence” of Grok says the Bucs will select South Carolina safety Nick Emmanwori.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Nick Emmanwori, S, South Carolina

Tampa adds Emmanwori, a versatile safety, to pair with Antoine Winfield Jr., creating a dynamic secondary.

Grok isn’t exactly dumb. Safety could be a sound pick. In fact, other than inside linebacker, one could argue safety is the biggest need.

Quick, who will be the starting safety next to Antoine Winfield? Todd Bowles has talked about Tykee Smith possibly moving there. But Smith, entering his second season with the Bucs and the NFL, was drafted to be a nickel corner. He started just six games last year.

Now the Bucs are going to flip him to safety as the full-time starter? Joe isn’t sure about that.
