Report: Antonio Brown To Miss “At Least” Two More Games

December 1st, 2021

Updated status.

Joe wrote not long about Bucs furniture-tossing, bicycle-throwing wide receiver Antonio Brown, saying that Joe’s goal is to have him ready by the playoffs. That’s starting to look like a more accurate timetable for the injured star.

Per a report by Adam Schefter of BSPN, there is a good reason why Brown did not practice today. He likely won’t play this week at Atlanta. Or next week against Buffalo. Maybe longer.

The key phrase that jumps out at Joe is “at least.” This tells Joe it’s a major injury.

Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians said earlier today had the Bucs known Brown’s foot was this bad when it was first studied, the Bucs would have placed him on injured reserve.

The initial diagnosis for Brown, who hurt his ankle Oct. 15 at Philadelphia (he hasn’t played since) was a sprained ankle. Arians later said Brown had bone spurs.

No one with the Bucs has officially stated on the record if bone spurs are still the issue or if something else has cropped up.

    Edelman

  2. 407buc Says:

Our coaching staff has to be the least transparent staff on the planet regarding injuries… he should’ve been on IR, it’s been 2 months. Its wishful thinking at this point to see him back before the playoffs. Hopefully theyre telling the truth about Devin

  3. Medicated Pete Says:

That’s alright, TB12 needs to force the ball to Mike Evans to get him his 1000 yards still

  4. zzbuc Says:

Nothing to be alarmed…..we are loaded at WR….I am concerned on Ali Marpet and Devin White….
If AB is available great, if not, I am not worried at all

  5. SB Says:

As long as he is back for week 20 we are good.

  6. SOEbuc Says:

Not surprised but you can sit him till he gets better. Hopefully by game one of the playoffs. I flipped sh!t when I heard Vita was coming back against the Packers in the NFCC. He might of won us that game and the super bowl with all those sacks and his presence up front.

  7. chris l Says:

who gets the blame for missing this?

  8. SlyPirate Says:

Wow! That’s a bad ankle sprain.

  9. Robert Says:

They’re probably just keeping him on the back burner till ME learns to run routes!

  10. mg Says:

Someone has little going on in those 6″ between the ears.
Sprained ankle, bone spurs or a private suspension for being an idiot…..

@”…If AB is available great, if not, I am not worried at all…”

well everyone SHOULD be worried; you don’t need to go to far, just look TB12 face and gestures when he is trying to pass to ME. Without AB we are playing with one WR, sometimes not even that. It is a big problem, and is nothing they can do about it.
    Sad!

  12. Jmarkbuc Says:

ME and DWhite suffer from the same problem.. freelancing.

ME has been in the league long enough to learn it, you can see it on TBs face every time… “WTF is he doing?”

  13. Francisco Guzman Says:

These next 3 games are huge. I feel like this team might have to run the table to get a second seed.

  14. Jerry Says:

They’re putting him on the shelf for the playoffs.

  15. Swampbuc Says:

The morons who dis ME obviously are the idiots freelancing. Ton refers to ME as a Hall of Famer. If he’s doubled, Tom’s probably not throwing to him. Unlike JaMiss. What a bag of toads you cretins are.

  16. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Lets talk in hockey speak. AB has a “lower body injury.”

  17. Bobby M. Says:

We are scoring fine without Brown….Gronk is the key to our offense. Brown is a guy I could see us moving on from, he’s 32 and injured…not too mention comes with an annual headline of some sort. You start adding up all these depth pieces and what we are getting from them, it’s pretty “meh”.

    Brown = $2 million
    Howard = $6 million
    Sherman = $2 million

  18. Jmarkbuc Says:

Ever hear TB say that 90% of what he tells press is BS?

ME has done some great things. He is not the most precise route runner. TB expects you to be in a certain place.

  19. cmurda Says:

Like I said earlier, AB is likely out for the regular season but if he’s able to get back for the playoffs, we are going to be a scary scary team to play.

  20. Architek Says:

Teach the other WRs how to read coverages (except Godwin)….🥴

  21. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Did anyone ever think we would all be “concerned” about the return of AB ?
I mean, we have Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, right ?
Well guess what ? Opposing Defenses have figured out how to take them out of the game.
Brown is deadly, on the underneath routes, so deadly that other teams sometimes double him, opening up opportunities for Evans and Godwin.
Back when we were thinking about getting him, some here started bitching about his off the field issues.
But so far he has been a good player and teammate.

This is just my own opinion, but I am not interested in a Football Team of Choirboys. I am interested in a winning football team.
Many really good football players are total Alpha Males, and sometimes Alpha Males can run afoul of both society and the Law.

    SCOTTY DEFINITELY HELPS
REMEMBER HE GOT THE DB TO GET A PASS INTERFERENCE CALL

  23. ClodHopper Says:

Just be back by January is all I ask

  24. Sparky Says:

Now we have people reading TBs facial expressions from their couch? GTFO.

  25. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Sparky

    I got 4K OLED High definition. 😂😂

  26. Chris Says:

AB is one of the all-time greats. He’s not quite as dominant as he used to be, but you can see the ability is still there. He adds a huge element to the offense, even with the existing level of talent. No rush, as long as he’s back for the playoffs, I think the bucs will benefit greatly.

  27. SB Says:

    WOW!
There are some Seriously intellectually challenged people in here tonight.

Gonna be fun laughing at them when Mike makes the HOF.

  28. SB Says:

As stated above, just be back by week 20 AB!
    We will need you.

  29. Swampbuc Says:

Any of you dissing ME — try asking anyone who knows football, at all, if they agree with you. Idiots.

  30. LakelandSteve Says:

I doubt it’s the ankle anymore. More like bone spurs in his heel. Imagine something in your heel every time you put weight on the foot it feels like someone is driving spikes in your heel. I don’t know how you play with that kind of pain unless they remove them. Has he been seen around the facility this week. If not he may have had a procedure done to remove the bone spurs. You are talking a minimum of 4 to 6 weeks before he could play again if that. Hopefully that’s not the case but he was dressed at practice catching balls from the jugs machine last week looking like he might be coming back. He may be out the remainder of the season and hopefully back for the playoffs.

  31. adam from ny Says:

geez AB’s foot must be totally fugged up…

he’s already missed a huge chunk of the season and it just keeps going and going…

hopefully he gets back for those last 3 games against scrub teams, to get in game shape and the in the game groove too, so he’s ready for the playoffs

  32. adam from ny Says:

i don’t even recall when he actually got hurt…

he just mysteriously got injured and has been off the field ever since

  33. captivajim Says:

BL better figure out how to get the ball to Evans , given AB is gone for 3 , maybe more wks.. combined yardage for Godwin and Evans vs Colts was 40 yds…..,yes,,Gronk had the big day —- but CG & ME need to get more balls…
