Gameday Tampa Bay

October 14th, 2021

Game 6

Bucs (4-1) at Eagles (2-3)

Kickoff: 8:20 p.m.

TV: NFL Network.

Streaming: Fans may stream the broadcast from Buccaneers.com or on a mobile device using one of the following: Buccaneers official app, NFL app or Yahoo! Sports app. Geographic restrictions apply.

Radio: Buccaneers Radio Network WXTB-FM 97.9 in the Tampa-St. Petersburg region (Transmisiones de radio en español en WTMP-FM 96.1 y WMGG-AM 1470 en Tampa). Additional stations throughout Florida on the Buccaneers Radio Network can be found here. The game will also be broadcast on SiriusXM Channel 81 (Bucs broadcast) or SiriusXM NFL Radio Channel 88 (Westwood One radio broadcast).

Weather: Per AccuWeather.com, really nice night for Philadelphia in mid-October. Look for a kickoff temperature in the low 70s, dropping to 69 at the game’s end. Tailgate weather will be right around the 80s, which should drop to the low 70s as the sun sets.

Odds: Per BetMGM, as of midnight Saturday, Bucs -7; over/under 52.5.

Zebras: The game will be officiated by Clay Martin and his crew. Per Rotowire.com, they tend to keep their flags in their pockets, except when it comes to holding and pass interference. They average four holding calls a game. That’s the eighth-most in the NFL. Martin’s pack has thrown nine pass interference flags, which is fifth-most in the NFL.

Outlook:  While the Bucs haven’t been able to get a classic old school rushing attack going despite often talking about it, this may be the night. The Eagles’ rush defense is rotten, 30th in the NFL. Joe fully expects the Bucs to at least try to test that defense. Meanwhile the Eagles have the third-best pass defense in the NFL allowing but 195 yards a game. But, how often do they face a team stacked in the passing department as the Bucs? If the Bucs don’t turn the ball over, they should be able to win, though Jason Pierre-Paul said earlier this week he remembers from his days with the Giants that playing in Philadelphia is always tough.

Trinkets: QB Tom Brady passed for 411 yards and 5 touchdowns in Week 5, his 9th-career game with 5+ touchdown passes. Leads NFL in pass yards (1,767) and ranks second in pass touchdowns (15) in 2021. Has 3 rushing touchdowns in his past 3 home starts. … RB Miles Sanders had 5 receptions and 45 rushing yards in Week 5. He has 50+ scrimmage yards in 4 of 5 games in 2021. Has 1,262 scrimmage yards (84.1 per game) in 15 career home games. Since 2019, Sanders ranks fourth among RBs with 4.9 yards per rush average. (minimum 300 attempts.). … WR Devonta Smith (rookie) led the Eagles with 7 receptions and 77 receiving yards last week. Is the only NFC rookie with 3 games (3) with 5+ receptions in 2021. Aims for his fourth in row on Thursday with 5+ receptions. Had 11 receptions for 94 yards in the last game against the Bucs. … DT Javon Hargrave aims for his fourth in a row with a sack and sixth in a row with a tackle for a loss. Fun fact: The last time the Bucs played at Philadelphia the Bucs blew out Chip Kelly and the Eagles 55-17. The Bucs won on the strength of Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston’s five touchdowns (and no picks).

  5. 163doubleplay Says:

With all this sexual scandal going on in NFL, why post that picture of the cheerleader ? My feelings are getting offended. 🙂

  6. TheShaz Says:

I hate the Eagles from the Dungy & J__ G_____ days.

From Bucs history, this feels like a “letdown” game. I hope we have turned the corner on being like that.

Imagine everything you said in private becomes public. Even Jesus would be “cancelled” in this culture we currently have.

  7. Anonymous Says:

More importantly, it streams on prime video tonight too.

  8. Bird Says:

    She looks like Tiger’s Ex

I want to see one Phili TD… just to see her bounce.

  12. Defense Rules Says:

Just finished an awesome article titled ‘The Inside Story of Tom Brady’s Departure From New England’ in SI posted 5 hrs ago. Fascinating. Good to see that life’s not really as complex as some would have us believe.

  13. Buxszntkt Says:

Dude ain’t gonna see those bounce! Joe uses old pics, the Jersey is Kelly green, that hasn’t been eagles green for years. Those have probably fed several kids and are saggy and droopy now.

  14. Joe Says:

    🙁

The Eagles use alternate jerseys. Most teams do. Not only does Joe not care when that photo was taken, he is not inclined or interested in any way when the Eagles last wore Kelly green. Joe’s confident he could have found an ugly Eagles fan from this month to use if it is the date of the photo that you crave.

  15. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

I was reading a Philly Fan Site, and all 5 of their experts are predicting a Bucs victory tonight.
Some fans in Philadelphia still hate us because we came up there and beat them, eliminating them from the playoffs, at the very last game played at Veterans Stadium.
Donovan McNabb choked in that game, big time!

  16. 163doubleplay Says:

Excited for tonight’s game… GO BUCS!!

  17. PassingThru Says:

What do you mean no bounce? You’re talking about the woman I love.

  18. Adrnagy Says:

Sit JPP. It will be hard to wrap up/ tackle hurts. With one hand.

  19. PassingThru Says:

    @Defense Rules

Thanks for pointing that out, it’s a good read.

I have a book on order that is arriving tomorrow: It’s Better to Be Feared: The New England Patriots Dynasty and the Pursuit of Greatness by Seth Wickersham. I heard from a very reliable source that things were going poorly behind the scenes between Brady and Belichick, even before the Wickersham ESPN article.

  20. Jerry Says:

Only really 2 things to be really concerned about.. the Philly DLine is pretty good. So our OL needs a good game to keep Brady clean. I expect them to try to pressure the interior especially if Jensen isn’t 100%. On the other side, our history against QBs like Hurts is not the greatest. So he needs to be contained, especially with David out. He’s a decent QB but does make mistakes. Other than that the Bucs should win as long as they execute well and don’t turn the ball over. A repeat of the effort in Chicago last year on Thursday night would result in a big upset.

  21. DoooshLaRue Says:

    She’s trailer park hot!

  22. D-Rome Says:

The game should also be on Amazon Prime for Prime subscribers.

  23. The Beer Whisperer Says:

If there is any high scoring done, it will done by the Bucs.
Unless 20 points is a high score, for the Eagles.

Bucs will seal off the edges, on Hurts running.
    This ain’t their first rodeo.
Bucs defense thinking, this ain’t “Rocket Science”

  24. MadMax Says:

We got this by 14….my 250 will win me 208…Lets fkn go dogs!!! HUNT!!!

  25. MadMax Says:

@Doosh, those trailer hot girls were no joke, I had a few back in the day growing up around them….crazy in the head but crazy in bed 😉

  26. DoooshLaRue Says:

    MadMax,

    They are great aren’t they?
I may have to cruise up to Palm-ghetto later tonight.
Only bad part is all those damn speed bumps!

  27. Bucyou Says:

The Goat Herders (the OLine) must dominate a good Eagles DLin.

  28. HC Grover Says:

Bucs will RUN! Fournette and GIO big game for the win.
