Saints To Play Their Home Opener In Jacksonville

The obstacles keep mounting for the Bucs’ primary division rival.
Hurricane Ida already has the slimy Saints practicing outside Louisiana after their canceled preseason finale. Now comes word that New Orleans will play its “home opener” against the Green Bay Packers in Jacksonville on Sunday, Sept. 12, at 4:25 p.m., per the Times-Picayune.
This kind of reminds Joe of when the Bucs lost their 2017 home opener to a storm. In that case, Tampa Bay didn’t play Week 1 and subsequently lost its bye week as a result.
The Bucs won easily on opening day and limped to a 5-11 finish.
The move to Jacksonville is intriguing. First, the Saints are a dome team that plays on turf. Could they not find another another venue other than the outdoor, likely rainy or humid swelter of Jacksonville? Second, Aaron Rodgers has said previously that he’s not a fan of the extreme heat of Florida and how the climate here can affect turf. So perhaps that was a consideration.
Joe wonders if there will be more Packers fans in attendance than Saints fans. If so, Saints starter Jameis Winston will be used to that after his years playing at the stadium formerly known as the Den of Depression.

This will be a game for us to watch because quite probably the Saints and the Packers are our biggest NFC Rivals.
Of course, we want the Packers to win, because they are not in our division.

I’m divided over this game. In an ideal world, they both lose. Tampa Bay will likely be competing with the Rams and Packers for best overall. I want that bye week, so I really wouldn’t mind seeing Green Bay losing.

Let me repeat that, the coach that had already enjoyed success as both an assistant coach and a head coach as well as winning numerous coach of the year awards, you just called incompetent. I am not sure why anyone would want to live in New Orleans. It seems they have a hurricane every year. Then every 5 years they have a serious hurricane. Katrina would have been the last straw for me but to each their own

Patrianakos… I understand that. But this year, if we can’t be the best team in the Division and get a bye, regardless of this game, we don’t deserve it. I could see us losing a game or two by some slip up or chance. But we will be better than every team we play.

Youngbuc. The odds was stacked against all teams last year because no team had an offseason. This year there is only ONE team that is practicing in a whole different state while having to deal with the after affects of a hurricane to their homes, family placement all while playing the game in a different state than they practiced. No the saints are dealing with a bad hand right now. This is not even a comparison

Youngbuc not all adversity is the same idiot. Changing a flat tire is the the same as needing a whole new engine for your car. Tell me which team THIS YEAR other than the Saints are dealing with what they are dealing with? The ENTIRE NFL last year had no offseason. Some of those teams had new head coaches and offensive schemes and yes new qbs. Tom Brady is a 20+ year vet who has seen it all so him changing schemes coming to a loaded squad is not all that difficult seeing that it only took a half a year for the offense to take off. Like Arians said we are going to teach Brady our offense. He said if he is the goat, it will be easier for him to pick up our scheme then to have 22 men pick up his scheme. Its crazy how you don’t understand that and equate that to having your house under water all due to your hate for jameis.

Youngbucs Jamies will do well in New Orleans and my opinion. Yet and still until the bucs develop their own quarterback then you can bash all the other quarterbacks that they drafted. And as far as being a bucs fan I don’t have to worship Brady like yall do to be a real bucs fan. I will always push for the development of our own quarterback and other positions. They do a great job in developing linebackers wich is a key position just like the d line and offensive line. And we have that but the quarterback position we have never had one . So if the bucs develop Kyle Trask then yall can bash all the other quarterbacks. The problem is yall don’t believe they can but I do so maybe yall are just Brady fans and not real bucs fans . And let’s be honest Brady played with a all-star roster and everyone knows it just like they changed the plays for Brady go read the other article and they would tell you just like I’ve been saying. By the same token, considering how poorly the teams performed during the years Jameis was the QB, I guess you would have to compare him to the proverbial dropping in the punch bowl, that fouled up what would have been a perfectly good drink.
