    B.

He did as well as I thought he would playing with future UPS drivers, insurance salesmen, and a 3rd string offensive line. He didn’t have any glaring ‘WTF’ moments like we were so used to when Jay-Miss was here.

  2. Buczilla Says:

C for me. He showed a good arm and poor mobility. Sitting for two years is perfect for this kid to grow.

  3. buxszntkt Says:

surprised my grade of C was the majority. He had nice passes but lots of concern by an apparent lack of mobility, that was the word on him and that’s what we are seeing. time will tell what he becomes, I suppose at pick 64 it wasn’t like we were going to get any huge impact player for 2021 so why not gamble , although seems like the days of pure pocket passers is over.

  4. David Says:

Damn. Some harsh judgment for his first NFL game.
    I gave him a B (B+)
He played with a bunch of lineman who couldn’t hold a block
and receivers who could not separate and they dropped the ball a few times.

He had one inaccurate throw, probably could have reacted to the pass rush a little quicker once also.
Overall though, he showed some damn good potential

  5. David Says:

As for those saying he doesn’t have great mobility… No kidding.
He is still faster than Manning or Brady ever were. He doesn’t need to run, he needs to have good pocket presence, and if you watched Florida, he has that.

  6. tampabuscsbro Says:

He needs to at least play with the second string. He looked a lot better then Ryan Griffin who I think we should move on from. He should be directly competing with Gabbert.

  7. Anonymous Says:

Didn’t show that he can’t play but didn’t also show a ton that he can. He didn’t play exceptionally bad or goody. He’s a work in progress.

  8. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    For what it’s worth…I gave Trask a C……..Gabbert a B……Griffin a D & Brady (inconclusive due to lack of enough plays)

  9. BradyBucs Says:

It seems like so many didn’t even watch all his snaps.

The guy played GREAT with what he had to work. He didn’t have the great pass protection. No play action passes called for him.

His deep right sideline pass was a thing of beauty and the WR just couldn’t get his feet in bounds or everyone would be talking about that play right now.

McPhearson had two of his passes hit him directly in the hands that he dropped.

His bullet over the middle to Hudson proven that he has NFL arm talent and puts to bed any of this “lack of arm strength” stuff. That was obvious on some his deep balls too.

Trask didn’t make a single high risk throw, unlike Griffin. That’s the different. He’s a smart, game manager type pocket passer like Brady that reads the Defense and tries to make the best decisions.

The crap O-line of ours gave him no chance in that final drive to even try and get in position for a Hail Mary. Two guys ran free for the sack.

Trask is only going to get better with more experience. Get him playing with the 2nd team and I think we’ll see a lot more of what he’s capable of.

  10. D-Rok Says:

I did watch all Trask snaps. For his first NFL game, I thought he showed poise and confidence. Additionally, I didn’t see many if any glaring mental errors. As one would expect from a rookie, he needs time and reps to develop chemistry and timing. I gave him a B because I thought he played a tad better than most rookies in their first game. He’s never been “mobile” but he showed decent awareness in the pocket. It wasn’t an awful showing by any means and I’m hoping for solid development from him in the next year or so.

    B

thought he did pretty good…he beat out griffin imo…

    GO BUCS!!!!

  12. Pickgrin Says:

    B

The kid looked pretty good considering what he had to work with…..

I say give Trask a couple series with the first team vs the Titans and lets see what he really looks like.

Its pre-season – whats the harm?

  13. crazybucs_CL Says:

looks like the blog is overwhelmed with FSU fans 😂🤣… WJ is gone, KT is our new hope for the future…. and he did fine on that BA mess. He is not a Gator anymore…. he is a Bucs now, and hopefully our future QB.

  14. Buxszntkt Says:

I think you’re wrong crazybucs. The site is jam packed with gator fans that want to give Trask bonus points cuz he was a gator. Same goes with FSU alum when their players join the team. Rose colored glasses ! I’m a neutral party, no bonus points for where you graduated college , no grading on a curve to compare you to griffin, grabbert , etc… just grade for what you did…. C

  15. A Real American Says:

    I give Blaine an A+
    The rest don’t matter
The Gabbert epoch is coming, get ready for awesome!

  16. buxszntkt Says:

lol, Blaine, WTF with that dude as the backup,

  17. Posey99 Says:

    A. great first start, bad protection and bad drops by Wr’s

If 5 guys didn’t drop passes, we would be talking about how he brought the team back and won. Even Arians mentions the errors and drops in his PC

  18. Aceofaerospace Says:

I saw more than enough to confidently waive Griffin.

  19. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    D for effort.

A good QB raises his team to the competition. Until he does he won’t be getting a high grade from me.

  20. Capt.Tim Says:

He played with a bunch of 3rd stringers- AGAINST a bunch of 3rd stringers.
A 2nd round pick dhoulda shined.
To be fair- he did have some drops

  21. Craig Says:

    Trask gets a B-

A couple of his passes put the receiver at risk. That will change as he gets timing down.

Gabbert surprised me. B+ He looked pretty good

Griffin D-, he was horrid, and I like the guy, he has been a start in previous pre-seasons and got screwed being behind Jameis.

  22. orlbucfan Says:

Give Gabbert a F and get rid of him.

  23. Wild Bill Says:

On a night when few Bucs played great I thought Trask looked poised and not at all rattled. Brady looked flat, bored?. Griffen looked lost. Gabbert had some nice plays. Totally sloppy game. Tanner was very good . He always looks good in preseason then disappears when the games matter.
