Bucs Fleeced Belichick

September 5th, 2009

Joe always feels good when Bill Belicheat looks bad.

And Joe’s not referring to his wardrobe issues.

When the Patriots made cuts today, former Bucs tight end Alex Smith was on the list of casualties.

Kudos to Mark Dominik for unloading Smith on the Patriots for a 2010 draft pick. Now if Dominik can send him Luke McCown, he’ll be 2-for-2 against Belicheat.

I sure was hopin that McCown ended up in New England. My fear is he will end up playing real well in Jax…better than Leftwich does for us…and we will have to hear about it all the time since the Jags are a mere few hours up the road.

At least if he went to New England we know he’d never play.

McCown and Leftwich are both journeyman…no great loss. I am surprised and happy that Dominick was able to fleece the Jags out of a draft pick for the guy. Start the Freeman era now, we need to know if he’s the bust in waiting, or the bust is starting…
