Sears’ Bell Still Ringing

June 3rd, 2009

Bucs guard Aaron Sears' third season could be in jeopardy

In what is a serious and somber note for Bucs fans, starting guard Aaron Sears has serious lingering effects from a concussion suffered last season, according to Pewter Report, and has not been given the OK to practice from the Bucs medical staff.

Joe does find it odd that the Bucs have not reported this information and Pewter Report is using an unnamed source. What’s the big secret? The guy is hurt. Players get hurt all the time.

Regardless, the speculation goes so far as to say Sears could be out for months. Jeremy Zuttah, last year’s rookie wonder boy on the offensive line, is filling in as the starter.

Joe wishes Sears a speedy recovery. But Joe can’t help but think of the unknown fate of Tampa Bay Lightning goalie Mike Smith, who had to shutdown his season because of lingering concussion effects. Let’s hope Sears fares better.
