Fire Todd Bowles Screams Will Get Louder

October 18th, 2026

Four consecutive home losses and a 1-5 record are enough to put any NFL coach on a hot seat. But things get a lot hotter for a head coach that already was unpopular and sitting on a broiling chair.

Bucs fans are done with Todd Bowles, even more so after today’s choke job at The Licht House.

Tampa Bay fell to last place in the NFC South landfill after the Saints (2-4) beat the Giants. Carolina leads the division after beating the Eagles at home and upping their record to 3-2. The Bucs head to Carolina next Sunday.

Bowles didn’t get loudly booed today at The Licht House. Frankly, that was because Steelers fans dominated the stadium, and that’s an entirely different reason to point a finger at Bowles. The Bucs have no home field advantage, or energy.

Yes, the Bucs defense is good. But it was not good enough in overtime today as the Steelers marched down the field easily for the winning touchdown. Regardless, being a good head coach is not about having your dominant side of the football playing pretty well.

So who will be the next Bucs head coach?

Yucs again! Oh how I yearned for the bad old days!

  6. Tony1775 Says:

He can’t adjust DK Metcalf was always open second half.

  7. Capebuc Says:

Those 3rd and long escape jobs have to end, Bowles has been figured out.

  8. Bucs fan in the Keys Says:

As long as the Glazers don’t care I won’t either

  9. BucfaninMi Says:

Started the decade so promising, FAs wanted to play for The Bucs, now they want out.

  10. NJBucsfan23 Says:

This team is soft and predictable. I can’t stand watching them

  11. Pewter Power Says:

Bucs have good players. You have to be more than a good defensive play caller to be a head coach. I’ve been waiting for him to get fired, we’ve wasted 3 years which Bowles haters as we are called knew this would always be the outcome

  12. Tye Says:

His only success hinge on NFL qualify oc for hat turn winning NFL HC and now 😭 ts obvious…. He is a horrible HC!

  13. LFGBucs Says:

Firing Bowles at this point may just screw up our chances at very high draft picks. Why fight for mediocrity at this point? They aren’t winning a minimum of 9 of the next 11 for a playoff spot.

  14. ElioT Says:

    Fire sale and fire Todd.

Jason should be very concerned too.

    This franchise is garbage water.

  15. Fire Blows Hire McDermott Says:

Louder? The fans are losing their voice after screaming it for 3 years

  16. RodMunchisBakersThumb Says:

Dumb butt Rod Munch goes silent when Baker’s out and we still suck. Be a man and own you were wrong about your single-handedly crap. You call everyone else morons all the time, be a man.

  17. BucsFan252 Says:

Fire Bowles and get a new QB. But we’ll only do half of what’s needed

  18. #1bucsfan Says:

Defense melted when it mattered most. Offense is garbage. JD showed he’s a rookie in the the 2nd half. Zac is so bad at calling plays. Every first down he would run the ball the pass on 2nd.

  19. RodMunchisBakersThumb Says:

DON’T spend a dime on this team until Bowles is gone!

  20. El Hefe Bucc Says:

The offense fell asleep after the half don’t give me wrong. Defense wasn’t the best but it was 10 times better than the offense in the second doesn’t even look like the offense even wanted to play second half

  21. BootyLover Says:

    Cignetti!

  22. Bucc u Says:

Sure let’s blame todd but zac robinson is the real problem I can’t another week of him please cut him tonight

  23. El Hefe Bucc Says:

And remember this is still a rookie quarterback so calm down with the JD hate

  24. ocala Says:

Bowles is awful. Why put the fans through anymore of this?!!

  25. jw94 Says:

    F$&@ the Glazers too. Respectfully.

  26. Tackleblockwin Says:

OC must get fired now. He is a joke. Promote internally. Fire Bowles after season ends.

  27. Colonel Angus Says:

Fire sale time. This season is done just in time for Halloween. Feels right.

  28. Youngbucs Says:

3 and 13 and he plays prevent wtf!!!!!!!!!

  29. dumboldguy Says:

I love how they simplified the defense playing a lot of man and tighter zone in the first half but that worked too well so they went back to ole reliable soft zone with confused defenders out of position in the second half. It’s reason #3153 why Bowles has to go. Even when he accidentally stumbles on a solution he abandons it.

  30. Dennis Says:

Steelers have home game almost everwhere

  31. LouBucsFan Says:

I jus can’t with this orginazation anymore… Root for my Bucs jus to be let down week after week… Let me know when we put together a Real team…! Smh!

  32. Nick jannette Says:

We lost the game at end of first half with poor clock management we had ball with 1:47 left and Steelers had only 1 time out yet we threw passes incomplete for no time off clock then ran it in 3rd down and Steelers stopped clock with time out then we punted for 36 yards and Rodger’s got you on board for 3 right before half these are the things that kill

  33. FlBoy84 Says:

As long as it’s not McCarthy. No rason that game should’ve even gone to OT without his shocking end-of-game clock mgmt. 3 runs and a TO on 4th down and kick a FG and the game is essentially over at that point.

  34. Miller5252 Says:

Head coach won’t leave Walker on the field when the dude is just killing everyone! Another stupid coach decision! Cant run up the score and be aggressive, cost em another game! Bowles has to be the best coach in the league for coaching himself out of a game and straight to a loss!!

  35. MadMax Says:

Its all good…the cookie crumbles the way it crumbles

But that was a tight fought game…the better team won.

  36. Tim Says:

    Kirby Smart?

  37. G Says:

    Fire Todd NOW !

  38. Ross White Says:

Glazers, sell the team who cares about winning, please

  39. Mhystc Says:

    Fire sale..

    Trade Godwin
    gainwell
    AWJ
    Vea
Would say otton but no one wants him.
Fire the whole staff including Jason Licht.
wirfs needs to be better he’s been playing average all season. maybe he’s still hurt.

  40. bobby4919 Says:

A seat filled is the same $$$ to the Glazers, no matter what team the fan supports. They DON”T care.

  41. Gipper Says:

Clearly, this one was Baker’s fault. He was on the sidelines pretending to help Daniels when we really know he was confusing and sabatoging him. Get rid of Mayfield and we will see the real UDFA superstar emerge as so many on these pages have indicated this past week.

  42. WillieG Says:

It doesn’t help that 2 of our former offensive coordinators are doing good. Coen and Monken. And Monken is a first time head coach with a team that has been sh!t for decades. The Glazers could have fired Turd Bowels and had either one of them.

  43. BucsFan81 Says:

The good news is this team does have some good young pieces to build around. Anyone over 30 needs to be traded. Let the coaching search begin.

  44. Oregon Buc Says:

Oh thank God. I despise the entire coaching staff. Let them eat cake!

  45. DS Says:

    Bring in Lincoln Riley

  46. Hire Sean McDermott Says:

If Jason Licht is gonna get on the phone with a HC candidate, you can guarantee 1 of the calls he’s gonna make is Sean McDermott because,
    1. Strong resume: 98-50 Regular Season record, 8 winning seasons, 5 straight Division Titles, 8-8 in the playoffs
    2. Licht and McDermott worked together in Philadelphia and have the same agent (Bob LaMonte)
    3. Marcus West (D-Line Coach) and Mike Caldwell (LB Coach) all used to work with McDermott (West in Buffalo, Caldwell in Philadelphia)
    4. Licht obviously knew Arians from his days in Arizona which of course made the hiring process for Arians pretty easy. There will be competition for McDermott, but the Bucs do have some unique advantages going into January when they fire Todd Bowles.
    5. Bucs have contacted McDermott in the past (2016 HC interview and last January for a Defensive Assistant role)
Compared to other likely HC candidates going into January 2027, McDermott arguably has the strongest resume. Glazer Family loves making splash moves after all.
    Go Bucs!

  47. Rastaferian-Jenkins Says:

Our defense is not the problem. Far from it. If Baker played today we won the game. There is nothing that Daniels does that Baker can’t do better. Honestly, it was a cute story for a week, but JDs being exposed. Horrendous footwork, terrible accuracy. I think he can be a solid backup to develop, but Baker gives us the best chance to win.

  48. 76 replay Says:

If they lose to Panters it is over. Done. Kaput. The End. Then the Saints will beat them.

  49. Deuceswild78 Says:

Not a bowles guy but this was on the rookie qb and some Wr drops

  50. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

I still can’t believe they let Coen out of the building 2 years ago.

  51. Miller5252 Says:

Through 5 years of Bowles being the head coach how many times does he have to show that’s he’s going to cause this team to lose games! Year after year he always does the same thing!!! Being aggressive is working great so you decide to pull Walker and start playing prevent zone or play 10 yards off your guy and after the ball is snapped drop back another 10 yards man coverage. Never fails!!

  52. James west Says:

A season of what ifs, tis time to cut bait, for the fans sake

  53. Lightningvinny1 Says:

Todd didn’t lose that game , Daniels lost that one ,, maybe Robinson for letting him throw passes

  54. sBucs Says:

The game was lost when Todd’s prevent defense allowed the Steelers to score a field goal at the end of the first half. Todd played ‘prevent’ showing how easy the second half would be for the Steelers to bounce back and win the game. Out coached all the way. Zero wins at home. How many wins in the last fifteen? Two?

  55. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Toad should never, ever have been hired. The Glazers should have told Arians “no way.” Toad sucked with the Jets for too many years and didn’t deserve a 2nd chance. I’m not gonna say a DEI hire, but he sure should not have been hired.

  56. Day1-76 Says:

It’s absolutely impossible to believe that Todd Bowles is a good HC or that Jalon is better than Baker. If you do, maybe soccer is for you.

  57. FlBoy84 Says:

Game is a perfect example of two guys who have no business leading a team, and who are simply surviving by media/ownership inflating their abilities as a HC based on their past performamces as coordinators, while ignoring the rest of their massive shortcomings.

  58. WillieG Says:

I do NOT agree with having a fire sale. Our next coach should be able to figure out how to use our offensive weapons and hopefully will hire a defensive coordinator who can use edge rushers to rush from, you know, the freaking edge.

  59. AquaBum Says:

Crazy people think fire sale is applicable here. The team is
Good – the play calling (offense) and time management decisions are not

  60. BPBucsfan Says:

They really s**t the bed in the 4th quarter and OT.

  61. can-we-get-rid-of-Licht-now-PLEASE? Says:

hey wait a minute .. there are 11 games left – we are
1-5 … sweep the division and beat LAC LAR @ home – lose @ DET CHI BAL –
9-8 should win the “crappy” division – @ home for division and then with with luck the NFC and SB – easy peasey – we got this – in Bowles & Licht we trust !!!!

  62. RVATom Says:

Our next head coach will be on par with a Zach Robinson caliber guy. No creativity. No fire. No staff. Who wants to come to Tampa to fix Baker May field? Who wants to watch their career die in Tampa?

  63. Let em bake Says:

    UCLA coach.

  64. Bobby M. Says:

Bowles plays to “not lose”…..it’s not working, hasn’t since he became HC with Brady at QB. His defense can’t get a stop when you need it, at this point let’s enjoy watching his legacy be defined as a mediocre coach. That will be his legacy.

  65. UGotRobbed Says:

The legendary Todd Bowles defense shows up in OT for the win….oh wait! 😆

  66. WillieG Says:

    THE STAGES:

    I wanted Bowles
    Let’s give him a chance
    Feel bad for him
He just needs a couple more pieces
He’s got “his” players locked up
    What the hell is this?!
    Can’t stand the guy
    FIRE TODD BOWLES!

  67. Miller5252 Says:

This team should be scoring 28 a game at least!! Bowles and the OC just sit around finding ways to let the other team hang around so we can let them win. You let Rodgers hang around all game and think he’s not going to figure it out when it matters?!?! STUPID!!

  68. Td Says:

Defense so good the defensive coach goes into soft zone AGAIN and throws the game away. And you see what Daniels really is when not playing a garbage team. He’s a rookie

  69. PSK Bucs Fan Says:

It wasn’t just zOT when the defense couldn’t stop the Steelers, they were awful in the 4th…..

  70. Big Rob Says:

I say let him finish out the season. It’s already lost so what’s the point. Let every opposing team fill our stadium for our over paid nose tackle and QB to carry the noise. Bowles and the stupid glazer offspring has ruined this team. It’s on them to endure the fan hatred! They’ll still get their money but whatever. This season is lost. 1-16 Bucs of 2026. Good job Joel and Todd

  71. DBS Says:

I said it in the live thread and it’s exactly what happened. Offense didn’t control the clock and score until it was to late and not enough. 3’s and not 7’s Defense got worn out and Rodgers got momentum. Don’t go looking at the defense. Go looking at the offense and their quarterback!

  72. Mhystc Says:

Give me Nate Scheelhaase, Grant Udinski for an Offensive coach.

  73. Nate1976 Says:

Is the 3rd and along with the soft coverage that soft zone kills us every time

  74. WillieG Says:

All you youngsters are lucky. You have the Rays and Bolts to fill the void. I remember when all we had was the Bucs. When they sucked in October, we had to find other stuff to do.

  75. BucaneroJim Says:

    Gipper,

Baker is only on the sidelines is for camera time. His advert clients want him relevant for the millions spent on commercials. Baker is a jaded older player.

  76. DBS Says:

Don’t want to hear anything about a rookie. You people have no problem talking about drafting a QB and throwing him in the fire!

    YOU ARE 1000% DELUSIONAL!

  78. Seemore Bucs Says:

I would go to Mike Tomlin and make him the highest paid head coach ever. Get him off of NBC and patrolling our sidelines where he should be.

  79. BuccaDawg Says:

That’s IT, ENOUGH, the Steelers were stoking crowd at our home stadium for more noise as they drove easily down the field to BEAT the lowly Bucs . OUR HOME FIELD was not a advantage for the LOWLY BUCS again. The ugly orange towels that should not even be allowed in the place were waving all over the place, their trade mark orange towels,. This is way past needing to FIRE BOWLES, WAY PAST,any owners who have any pride or self respect would have dumped Bowles last year. What’s our piece of crap owners & our half a__ GM do talk about what a great guy he is & give him a RAISE!!!! A RAISE!!!! wish I had ever had a job where underachieving would get a raise . Not just underachieving but out & out FAILING . Ok , at least the weather seems to have changed into fla. Fall weather so it will be nicer to do anything other than spend even 1. More min paying attention to the loser pirates over at 1pirate out house. Anyway pretty soon there won’t be room anyway, too many others making our home field look like a road game. That’s it till there is wholesale changes done to this group I’m OUT ,DONE , GOT SOMETHING ANYTHING else to do.

  80. jimmy Says:

you could tell when they stopped playing to win and started playing not to lose. they left a crack open and steelers drove right in.

  81. Seemore Bucs Says:

If he doesn’t want it, the hottest young offensive mind available. One or the other.

    Seemore:

Problem with Tomlin, is that the Steelers still have his rights. You’d have to trade something to get him.

  84. Aceofaerospace Says:

Said it before, I don’t care. A large chunk of the fan base no longer cares either. As stated above, why would you change what was working just because you have a 13 point lead. It seems the only time bowels makes adjustments is when something is working. If it’s not working, well then we’ll just keep doing it until we lose. Owners don’t care. I don’t care. I’ll keep watching on tv because they’re my team but I won’t spend a dime on anything that is buccaneers specific. I wish thousands more would do the same.

  85. Seemore Bucs Says:

True, Mhystic. Guess it is how bad do you want him and do you think you can get someone, ANYONE, better.

  86. Bakerfan Says:

I think it each week, what does it take to get a guy fired. Bowles and Licht both need to go

  87. GMC hater Says:

Can we call it the Den of Depression now?! If that doesn’t work we can also call it the House of Horrors!

  88. AquaBum Says:

As someone who’s spends a lot of time with Steelers fans, their complaints about Tomlin and his bad time management just echo Bowles 2.0

Let’s not all get behind someone just because they are a big name

  89. BoiseBucsFan Says:

I’m not even mad, just uninterested in the product

  90. Brandon Bob Says:

We had yet another third and forever, this time 16 to fo and tb plays a soft zone where the receiver gets across the line to gain while the bucs defenders keep the play in front of them for a first down. Remind anyone of Mikes 3-28 play? He defensive play calling is horrible when the game is on the line. He will say they weren’t in the right place but they rarely are. I’m tired
of it and need a break for a few weeks, maybe longer. Takes too much out of me sadly

  91. Earl S Says:

    Is John Gruden waiting?

  92. Lightningvinny1 Says:

At least we can stop all the JD nonsense ,, he kind of lost this game and GB with his pics and his inaccurate throwing ,, now you all know that Baker is a legit starter and would have scored 30 today,, JD is a good back up but will never score more than 20 so you have to win games 17-13

  93. Faspro Says:

No, Tomlin ain’t it, we need an offensive-minded HC…

  94. Crazyhorse54 Says:

Folks it doesn’t matter what YOU want. It’s what the owners want. YOU don’t get a say in any decision. This is a billionaire’s play money. They have it and only they control it. Don’t attend the games; don’t re-up your season tickets. They’re going to hit rock bottom with a half-filled stadium of opponents’ fans. That MIGHT awaken the owners, might not. Revenue sharing keeps owners’ very wealthy. They created this mess, let them fix it. My opinion means nothing and neither does yours. It is what it is.

  95. Mike Johnson Says:

We will likely have a top 5 draft pick after the season. But the bright side is Hopefully, We will have a new HC, DC, and OC and probably GM. We played about as well as we could today. OC lacked play calling though. And our D just raN OUT OF gas in OT. You are what your record says you are. I see 5 wins for this season.

  96. Rafterman 61 Says:

The crowd today at Ray J reminded me of the old black and blue division days when Green Bay came to town and the whole place was a sea of Green and Gold and those stupid looking cheese head hats

  97. buc4evr Says:

There is no answer until season end, but everyone must go including Licht. BTW, Sheppard would have caught that 3rd and 11 pass with a few minutes to go. Hunter and EE are total garbage. Our WRs are all pathetic. Giant waste of money.

  110. Rod Stewart Says:

  111. Tyler Says:

At this point, I say a fresh new mind. Somebody out of the college ranks.

  112. StretchOMatic Says:

All I heard all day long from Logan Ryan when talking about Toad Bowels was “defensive mastermind, defensive masterclass, 3rd down mastermind, defensive chess-master” on and on and on deep into the 4th quarter. When will all these sportscasters stop regurgitating this nonproven nonsense? It gets very old for those of us who know the truth.

  113. Steve V Says:

Lol Hahahaha!!You got your sacks and Daniels today!!

  114. adam from ny Says:

it’s almost like they spotted us….

then said okay, let’s kick it in to another gear, and run over this team

  115. DBS Says:

LOL at the people making excuses for Daniels. Yes he’s a rookie. On the other hand you have no problem yelling get rid of what we have at QB and draft one in the next draft. Then when they do and start him you can start crying it was dumb and he is a bust and wasted pick!

  116. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

How often do college coaches make it in the NFL? I’m intrigued by Curt Cignetti from Indiana. How the hell could you win a National Championship in football in Indiana?

  117. MadMax Says:

Well, 1 and 5 gets us closer to a nice draft position…but i was pulling for us to win dmmit…uhg is what it is

  118. Yeahmetoo Says:

Bad front office moves the past 5 years
And here we are. The tom brady years seem like ages ago.
Its going to take a full overhaul to turn this around.

  119. Seemore Bucs Says:

Already looking forward to the 30 minute NFL 2026 Season Highlights film for the Bucs that the NFL Network airs before the new season starts. The editors will just find 24 minutes (6 for commercials) of the Dallas game and pretend that’s the only game we played in 2026 since it’s the only one we may win.

LOL Steve V, you are so bad!

  121. Obvious Says:

So much for that ‘run’, huh? It was probably the other guy that wrote that.

As for the question: it’s simple. You have to get one more season out of baker before you can move on and you have an elite class of qbs coming out this April. You find yourself a a young offensive mind that is detail oriented and you hire him. That way you put yourself in a position to select a qb in the draft and get mayfield coached up.

If you do that you put yourself in a terrific situation.

The real question is what are the glazers doing? Are they hiring a consultant to help? Are they immersing themselves in the right league circles so they know who the right guy is?

  122. John Mason Says:

  123. 76 replay Says:

  125. So Cal Bucs Fan Says:

Robinson, the OC needs to be fired. TB didn’t call a bad game. He’s a DC and that’s what he does best.

Robinson is horrible. Steelers D-line just comes screaming up field. We run no screens to the boundary to slow them down.

There has to be a local high school coordinator better than this.

  126. JZ Reel Says:

This isn’t any new news Joe just has to regurgitate the same thing from week to week from here on out. Screw the Glazers this goes back 3 years and counting

  127. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I thought it was a great game.

    But…

…I wish they’d fire Bowles now. Make Robinson the interim HC and let him earn us a first pick…or turn the team around (unlikely).

  128. Marky mark Says:

THe defense and special teams did great. Fire Daniels. Can you spell melt down.

  129. mg Says:

    Get the paperbags out.

  130. mg Says:

    Hire the coach from N.C.

  131. Hodad Says:

Be talking draft, new GM, HC before Halloween. Nice job Todd. Hope the Glazers are happy.

  132. Falconrap Says:

If the Glazers are stupid enough to keep this moron at the end of the season, they deserve all the empty seats they get next year. We’re playing great defense most of the game, then we change up and start playing soft zones…against Aaron Rogers. That’s just dumb. They started letting him get chunk plays left and right to our demise. And the offense…my goodness the play calling is just atrocious at this point. When the QB is an undrafted rookie, and he’s starting to struggle…run the damn ball and take the pressure off. Better to run clock and punt, then get him throwing picks as happened in this game. I like Daniels but he completely imploded in the 4th quarter. This coaching staff can’t be gone soon enough for me.

  133. Bosch Says:

Fire Bowels after the season. But fire Zac the Hack at the bye.

  134. TONY Says:

The owners are garbage, the GM is garbage and the Head Coach is garbage. Playoffs! You want to talk about Playoffs! I just hope we can win a game!

  135. ryan Says:

Lmao yep another game where the defense did its job and the offense failed again. Sad the hc will take the blame for a trash oc who has no ability to call a game

  136. Rick in STL Says:

There are a few comments about firing Bowles after the season and who’s going to coach the team if Bowles were fired now. I have one question for those people:

    Who’s coaching the team now?

I’ll take my chances with whatever interim person is installed over the known-to-be-terrible Bowles/Robinson combo. We’re basically waiting to find out how good our draft position will be, so AFAIAC you could let the players coach themselves and it couldn’t be any worse.

  137. Rick in STL Says:

Anyone blaming Robinson and not Bowles is a fool as well. Yes, the offense should have been better in the 4th quarter, but the defense should have been better in the 4th quarter and overtime as well!

Fire all of them. Fire every single coach. If not now fine wait until after the Bears game and that’ll give the new staff almost two full weeks to get situated. Not that I really care if they do or not, because at this point we should just tank the season and draft the best available player with our extremely high first-round pick.

  138. SkunkApe Says:

I don’t know how much louder the screaming can get. He needs to go. Maybe 5% of Bucs fans would disagree. Local media, national media, probably Jason Licht, and maybe even the Glazers know it.

Doesn’t matter. Probably not gone until after game 17… and really, why bother firing the OC when it’s a lost season anyway. We’re not playing for playoffs now, we’re playing for the draft.

    LET THE FIRE SALE COMMENCE!
