Todd Bowles And Field-Storming

Joe isn’t sure how many folks reading this here corner of the interwebs watched the Western Michigan-Michigan game on NBC on Saturday night. One important member of the Bucs got a pretty good view.
That’s because Todd Bowles was on the field. Bowles mentioned that Monday during his presser after a “bonus” practice to start game week for Week 1.
Bowles’ son Troy is a linebacker for Michigan and made some damn critical tackles down the stretch that, if he doesn’t make, one could argue Michigan doesn’t win.
Bowles didn’t know it at the time, but he saw perhaps one of the most controversial endings in college football history. It appeared Central Michigan upset Michigan as a Hail Mary from Michigan quarterback Bryce Underwood sailed out of the end zone as time expired.
But the Big Ten zebras said no, there was one second left. Underwood’s second attempt at a Hail Mary was a touchdown and Michigan fans stormed the field.
Who was standing on the field at the time? Todd Bowles.
“Football can give you a heart attack,” Bowles laughed. “I don’t think I have ever been part of that where you’re standing [on the field] and they storm the field and I kind of got caught up in that.”
And it can get pretty hairy in a field-storming, especially when out of the clear blue sky the refs gave Michigan one more chance to save themselves — and they did.
Kust like the Michigan fans were jacked over how the Wolverines pulled a rabbit out of a hat to win, Bowles said he’s stoked for the beginning of a new NFL season.
“It’s always exciting to start the season,” Bowles said. “Everybody prepares the right way.
“You’re excited to see what you can do. You’re excited to see your team out there. You’re excited to see them execute.
“And you know, it’s different than the middle of the season or the end of the season. So, there’s a lot of excitement for everybody around.”
Now if only Bowles and the Bucs can ramp up the excitement for fans even more by finding a way to punk Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins in five days.

Not surprising we see the annual 3-4 game losing streak with that mindset. Once the season-wide initial buzz & excitement around the league wears off, the best coaches understand the need, and have the ability, to keep their teams motivated and focused. todd’s not part of that group unfortunately, and his inability to do so shows up each season & holds this team back.

Corruption at it’s best. So, where is this secret clock!? So, the BIG10 is trying to make us believe that after 60+YEARS of having televised College Football, that NONE of this has EVER come to our attention BEFORE… NEVER!? I mean, THIS was the ‘first-time’ EVER!? BS. Regardless, the original call on the field, should have been upheld… Since, there was NO-WAY that it would’ve been indisputable evidence (seemed pretty quick). And, let’s not forget that ONE-SECOND was already suspiciously ADDED without ANY discussion or anything whatsoever, right before the FIRST “Hail Mary” – Taking it from only having 8-seconds left, up to the 9. But, ‘rushing the field’ was a total complete outright EMBARRASSMENT for Michigan.
I AM SICK OF IT. Have been for a looong time, and it’s only getting worse and worse now, EVERY YEAR. It’s all about getting that perfect video and selfie. It’s a JOKE. Universities HAVE TO do something ASAP. It should only RARELY happen, under very special and unique circumstances. Definitely NOT when you are a friggin ‘Traditional’ POWER. Seriously, you now have like NORTH CAROLINA BASKETBALL ‘storming’ the FRICKEN COURT, after beating an 18TH RANKED SMU or something. It’s PATHETIC. And, there’s going to come a time, when SOMEONE is going to get HURT. They’re NOT going to STOP either, until the fines are made steep enough, where IT HURTS.

Excited for the Refs who yet again jobbed the smaller school in favor of the big school with a large TV following. This is why a lot of people think sports at the college and pro level are often tilted in favor of the popular , big market, money making teams. Refs should be fired. The whole thing after the game was pretty disgusting- a last minute do over after the clock expired. lol.

Michigan gets to play OU this Saturday. OU will set things straight. Western Michigan got robbed.

Western Michigan got robbed for sure, but that was a helluva throw and helluva catch by the Michigan QB and Receiver post regulation.

I wonder if he learned something from that game.
I recall another game up in Michigan where no time outs were called because it would just “prolong the inevitable”.
One second
One second and the game is winnable.
That’s a winning attitude.
Granted that that one second was gifted to them by the refs. They took that gift, and won.

He might as well say the grind of the season catches up to us all and it’s hard to be excited about a Dec road game so close to Christmas.
