Bucs May Have Found A Special Teams Stud

September 13th, 2026

Bucs new special teams ace Kevin Knowles.

This might just be a good under-the-radar signing.

So the Bucs last week signed former Chiefs corner Kevin Knowles, who enters his second season in the NFL. The Bucs have awful depth at corner, so this makes sense on face value.

The Bucs, however, see something else.

Knowles is a damn fine warrior on kickoff coverage. The Bucs’ special teams last year were downright trash, there is no other way to put it. So this offseason the Bucs have put a lot of resources into manpower to improve the special teams.

Knowles is one of those guys. He may not make a dent as a corner, but the Bucs are banking on Knowles to be a terror on the kickoff team.

Last December, Chiefs special teams coach Dave Toub raved about Knowles.

“It seems like every week he makes a big play.,” Toub said. “He is tough as nails. He will block the biggest guy — he’s like a junkyard dog. I love him.”

So why then was he available to be plucked? Joe doesn’t concern himself with another team’s mistake. If the Bucs think he can help improve a pathetic special teams unit, so be it.

Don’t be shocked if you see Knowles get a tackle on the kickoff team this afternoon.

Once the clock hits midnight it is officially the next day. So while Joe has yet to go to sleep, it’s already “tomorrow,” Sunday.
