Zyon McCollum Sits Out No-Pads Practice, Won’t Play Saturday
August 19th, 2026
Joe was hopeful after seeing No. 1(?) cornerback Zyon McCollum in full pads yesterday and back on the field.
But that hope evaporated quickly this morning after seeing McCollum back on the sidelines watching in sweatpants, his bottoms of choice last week in New Jersey in joint practices against the Jets.
McCollum is dealing with a groin injury. Bucs head coach Todd Bowles said after practice that McCollum will not play Saturday with the starters against the Chiefs. McCollum may have company. Bowles was non-commital about hamstring-challenged cornerback Benjamin Morrison making his preseason debut.
The Bucs’ regular-season opener is in 25 days, at the Cincinnati Bengals.

Next undersized undrafted rookie up!

Sign Adoree Jackson ASAP……

Try not to get too bored while you are standing around doing nothing Zyon, similar to what you were doing on the field last year after getting a nice extension…..lazy.

I’m not going to use the term BUST yet.
But ZM has earned the “B” last season and is close to earning a “UST” this season.
For a 5th round pick – he has outperformed.
Bravo young man.
For @ $16M AAV w $35M gtd – he has under-performed…

Oh darn, what will we ever do?
August 19th, 2026 at 10:58 am
His sitting out may be a good thing for a few reasons.
1. This way we can still hope he is has improved from last year and remain in fantasy land like Bowles and Licht.
2 Maybe Bowles and Licht will see that their is not much depth behind him or better Garnes could maybe replace McColumn.
3 Maybe Bowles and Licht may see just how desperately the team neesd to aquire a real cb who can actually cover

Callin a 5th round pick a bust would be dumb, and he got paid because he finished 2024 as a top 10 CBs in several different categories.
Didn’t even fall that far in 2025, but again because fans are hypebeasts who hate our HC one gaff or wrong descriptor to the media and now you guys are all saying the same thing like the seagulls in “Finding Nemo” lol
So a 5th round pick is a bust not even a season and a half removed from the best year of his career? Lights on, but not all the dogs are barking, huh?

As I said last week…win or lose, all I care about is avoiding injuries in the preseason.
August 19th, 2026 at 11:41 am
I’m 65 and just had rotator cuff surgery and I’M better than Adore Jackson
August 19th, 2026 at 11:47 am
We have two corners we have to keep in bubblewrap. Zyon has all the tools, why Licht drafted him. But I don’t see a football player. Football players don’t get bored playing the game, losing focus. He got paid, now he can’t stay healthy. When he has been on the field, he’s been nothing special, certainly not worth what his contract. Unless he turns it up this season, I’d say he’s already a bust. Don’t even get me started on Morrison. Licht depending on these two will be the defenses downfall.

wow…CBs cant catch a break let alone an INT
one mans lost is another mans gain
great job Licht!!!!
GO BUCS!!!!!

Bored and bust is no way to go through life!
August 19th, 2026 at 11:51 am
is Zyon getting Bored with rehab?…lol…i think thats a serious question
GO BUCS!!!!
August 19th, 2026 at 11:54 am
Keep him on the sideline til week one, groin injuries can be persistent if not properly treated and fully healed. And as bad as some think Zion is, how good do you think the players are behind him?
I would really like to see him in another defensive scheme honestly. I wouldn’t call him a bust but I certainly wouldn’t call him the best either. Todd cross trains his CBs to play safety and LB so who knows what’s going thru his head when the ball is snapped.

813 and WBL with the jokes today. Thanks guys. 🤣
August 19th, 2026 at 11:55 am
Licht shouldve signed T.Arnold AND Adoree Jackson…folks saying he was awful last year obviously didnt watch him or the BUCS CBs close enough…A.Jackson can still play…not a #1 CB anymore but he’ll be better than what we currently have including Morrison
sign Adoree Jackson
yet folks for saying trade Vita lol….no Vita+noCBs=4wins and a new HC/QB/GM….maybe thats what some folks want lol
GO BUCS!!!!

“Football players don’t get bored playing the game, losing focus.”
Yes they do, you’re arguing your own idealism versus reality.
“I’ve always wanted to be able to move around and kind of be in a game plan, really,” Ramsey said Tuesday on “The Pivot Podcast.” “At corner, it gets boring after a while.” -Jalen Ramsey, summer of ’25
“It also means little things on the field. Asked if he’s gotten bored at times this season when teams stay away, Peterson smiled. “I learned my lesson with that a couple years ago,” he said, adding “I have to stay focused for 60 minutes.”
-Pat Peterson talking about overcoming bordem at CB back in 2015
“You’re fighting boredom,” he said. “One of the things is really fighting boredom out there, because I don’t really get the ball thrown to me that much. So, I just got to be prepared at all times and should expect the ball to come at me at any given time…I don’t get bored, but you got to be aware of it to make sure it doesn’t creep in.” -Darelle Revis in 2012 a year before we traded for him lol
13 years, 3 seperate players, all talking about dealing with boredom because what sane sane NFL QB attacks a teams best CB? I can 100% find more examples from more players, but that’d be overkill

Not surprised at all. Got paid, now not working.
Sounds like a head coach on the Bucs that hasn’t lived up to his contract and is coasting at this point, too

No way! One of the Malingering Brothers is “hurt”? 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
August 19th, 2026 at 4:13 pm
Hate to say it , but one play sticks in my mind…Zyon Mccollum Not attempting to tackle , I believe it was tyler shough? last year as shough ran in a touchdown. A play that A Winfield has made in his career twice that saved todd bowles job.. of tackling, attempting to tackle a player at near the goalline. Zyon completely wussed out on that particular play, was embarassing

One of the worst extensions we’ve done recently. He sucks and is injury prone
August 19th, 2026 at 8:46 pm
He wont be bored against the Bengals WRs
