Report: Rueben Bain Hurt
August 26th, 2026
“Nothing serious.”
Joe nearly spit up his coffee.
Bucs’ first-round pick Rueben Bain is hurt. The Miami Mualer edge rusher messed up an AC joint, NFL uber insider Adam Schefter reports. Schefter points out Bain’s injury is not considered serious and he should be good to go Week 1 at Cincinnati.
What is the AC joint? It’s not your air conditioning.
Per Google, the AC is the “small connection point in the shoulder where your collarbone (clavicle) meets the highest part of your shoulder blade.”
A baller like Bain with a bum shoulder is not good. We all saw how Bain has humped blockers like Reggie White. Hard to do that if your shoulder is messed up.
Joe guesses this news could be a whole lot worse.
Sources: Buccaneers first-round pick Reuben Bain Jr. suffered an AC sprain, but it is said to be “nothing serious”, and he is expected to be ready Week 1 at Cincinnati. pic.twitter.com/xo12scvBDS

So it begins…….

Reminds me of David Walker getting hurt last year. Hopefully his injured shoulder does not linger deep into the season.

At this point with this team, every injury is serious. We’ll see how this plays out in September.

Injuries happen ladies. Prepare for it. That’s why it’s a man’s sport.

“nothing serious”
“ready for Week 1”
Sounds good to me. I decided a few weeks ago to not hyperventilate over every little report. There will be enough that happens this year that will be worth freaking out about.

He was trying to get 100 sacks in PRE- SEASON you know PRACTICE! He knows how important it is to all you “fans” to ” ball out” in ” PRACTICE ” …

“We all saw how Bain has humped blockers like Reggie White.”
Pause, this line is crazy Joe.
AC sprain isn’t all that bad, a little sharp pain that’ll limit range of motion.
If he’s not in a sling, it’s probably very mild and could just be bruising which is normal. When it comes to stuff like this at this point of the offseason take all the precautions to get him back to as close to 100% as possible.
More work for Mo Kamara, please.

Shoulder injuries on a pass rusher are a big deal….any weakness or injury impacts their technique. Hopefully it’s not something that lingers all season. He’s super young and still heals efficiently, with rest between now and week 1, maybe it fixes itself in time.
August 26th, 2026 at 9:44 am
Ouch!
So, Reuben has already shown he can walk the talk.
We’ve got a little over two weeks before the season begins.
Let’s take this one slow and steady. Let him heal up completely, and not try to rush him back onto the field.

I had an AC separation back in the day. It sucked. Bad.
That said, a sprain isn’t as bad as a separation. It took me about 3 weeks before I was out of a sling and another month before I was back to doing pull-ups. Bain’s definitely got more muscular foundation than I had at the time. He should be good, but sore.

Here we go again. Need to rest him for season opener and even if he needs another week. Need him healthy.

News worthy but not concerning
GO BUCS!!!
August 26th, 2026 at 9:54 am
Just dumb to even have starters out there imo

I log onto this site for 2 reasons.
1) For a good daily laugh from most comments
2) Praying when I click on that there is no serious injury.
I’m as optimistic as anyone, but all these wanna be MDs and Orthos need to realize that an AC joint injury, is nothing to mess with. Especially for an edge rusher who uses violent arm movements each play.
I’ll wait to hear what the trainers have to say, but for all things holy Buc, it’s time to put some of these important players in bubble wrap until Week 1. Looooong season and gotta get to Week 1 relatively healthy.

Here the trashers go. Soon we will get posts saying “I told you Licht blew the pick. You don’t take a pass rushers with small hands.”
August 26th, 2026 at 10:08 am
“Bain, we need a minor injury to keep you from playing Friday.”
“Well, I guess my shoulder has a little bruise…”
“Sounds like an AC Sprain to us!”

another 1st round bucs dline man from miami with a joint problem
August 26th, 2026 at 10:21 am
Dang it man! A torn rotator cuff hurts like hell when you move the wrong way. Ask Bucky. If it’s a tear he will be hard pressed not to favor it. Not good. I lived with one for two years and finally got the surgery after “useless therapy” was just padding the insurance bill.
Go Bucs!

It is a separated AC joint. I had one, it’s not fun. And you do lose some strength in the arm for many weeks.
August 26th, 2026 at 10:40 am
everyone has an opinion and most don’t know what the h3ll they are talking about…. you have those blaming Bowles for playing the starters in pre season, you have those saying starters should never play, you have those that say training and conditioning is too much, then those that say it is not enough,
I will listen to those who have played and coached at this level, which I do not believe one commentor on this site has done either.

Me too, but it’s a sprain not a separation so not as serious. Absolutely does suck when you’re dealing with it, though.

He’s been busting his arse during and after practice. This may be a small blessing in disguise to give him a rest before the real stuff starts.
August 26th, 2026 at 11:45 am
Will Lovie Bowles have the Bucs “Cincy Ready”, i.e. hold them to under 50 points?
August 26th, 2026 at 12:11 pm
Do guys with longer arms get these ac
Joint injuries. Just wondering because in case you didn’t know he has short arms.
