No. They “want” the guy to honor his contract and play football for the team he’s signed to play with.
But IF Vita will 100% sit out all season (which btw would accomplish nothing for Vita), then go ahead and trade him IF the return is worth it.

What’s he asking for? What would you pay – be specific, dollars and term.
For me, trade him if he won’t take two years at 21-22 mil.

Yup. A long term high dollar contract for Vea will age like milk, and Licht knows it.
BTW – side note: If Vea sits out the whole season, he won’t be a FA in 2027. They’ll toll his contract and he’ll owe Tampa another year.

We can free up cap extending Vita, the cap isn’t even a primary issue in this case.

YaYa is a former 4th rounder…find another one in the draft…thats why we drafted Bain and signed AQM…and if AQM produces he’ll be resigned
you can easily pay Mauch…but we have to see about that knee first
we dont know what Vita is asking for but everyone can agree he’s under paid…I’d give him a raise to 20.5mil up from 18mil…

The Bucs are not going to pay him what he wants now or next year so they might as well trade him. Because even if decides to play this year it will be a lame duck season with no extra effort put forth from him. It could also be a negative to the moral of the team as a whole especially the players in line for a new contract.

1. If Diaby blows up for 8-10 sacks, you’re ok with moving on from that? You’d trade an in his prime edge for an aging NT? And if AQM produces, he’ll want to get paid, too. He won’t be any cheaper.
2. He’s comparing his salary to Jalen Carter, Quinnen Williams. North of 30 mil per. You ok with that number? Because that’s the comps his camp seems to be using to declare him “underpaid”.

Oh and I like how some of you are saying “pay the man his money” as if he’s earned it. Nope. You get a new contract based on what the team thinks you will do, not what you have done.

Missed the poll (open a little longer would be awesome), but if we dont have V, our middle will be a LOT different this year, and probably next….We def need him….this treatment of him is stupid!!

in 4years, has YaYa reached 8 sacks?….AQM produced 11sacks last year and he sure did “get paid” with the bucs lol
state your sources that say he wants J.Carter and Q.Williams money?…
no where has it been stated that Vita wants to be the highest paid IDL….those guys are younger and Vita and his agent knows that….Vita has used his stats over the past 2years to show he’s under paid….18mil to 30mil is a huge gap….Im sure he’ll take 20.5 will incentives but it seems like bucs havent offered anything…
Get him into the 20’s….trading Vita is taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back….our best pass rusher will get double teamed and the CBs will get exposed
