Bucs X Post Deemed Controversial

July 14th, 2026

UPDATE: The Bucs removed the X post in question.

If the Buccaneers wanted to attract attention via innocent and wounded citizens, they didn’t have to wait for a 65-year-old to be maimed in a national park.

All they had to do was shoot video of Bucs fans exiting December’s Falcons game.

Yesterday, the Buccaneers social media team posted the X video linked here. The team is excited about football season, so it shared part of the viral video of a tourist recently getting gored and hurled several feet into the air by a bison in Yellowstone National Park. The clip quickly morphs into a Tez Johnson touchdown celebration.

Per various news reports, Carl Isom-McDaniel, the gentleman traumatized by the bison, is reported to have broken several bones and required surgery.

The Bucs use of a man’s tragedy for their gain has drawn mixed reviews, but not enough for the team to take down the X post as of 10:30 a.m this morning.

Joe doesn’t have all the details to make a strong judgment. Using the video certainly seems in poor taste, though perhaps Team Glazer already has cut the victim a check to help him through this traumatic event and the guy is ok with having his personal horror serve as a Bucs hype video. He may even be a Bucs fan!

    That’s stupid.

  2. Beeej Says:

I’d have figured that dude was at a safe distance, reassessing that now.

This is only “controversial” to a whiny commie

  3. 1Sooner44 Says:

Very poor idea from the Bucs. An injured man is not social media fodder.

  4. yucboy Says:

People are too sensitive these days, that video was funny. The old dude who got injured now has a cool story to tell his grandchildren

  5. View from 132 Says:

    Gen Z made a funny.

  6. Dtownva Says:

Social media is all about exploitation for clicks; why should a Bucs’ media post be any different? (Kinda makes me ashamed of my team, though.) Btw, folks, read about this attack before you judge. The guy wasn’t a moron tourist who got too close to a bison. That bison entered the campground in an extremely foul mood. Campers were yelling to each other, saying there was a bison coming in and they were trying to steer clear, including the guy who got nailed.

  7. Kenton Smith Says:

That Bison closed ground on that dude, hope our defense watched that clip. That beast reminded me of Dick Butkus.

  8. Hodad Says:

To soon. The Bills should use that video putting a Buc jersey on the old man. Looks like Allen running over Buc defenders when they kicked our rears last season.

  9. Curse of Gruden Says:

Joe’s looking for a way to be offended.

  10. Mobucs Says:

I thought the Yellowstone video was powerful. It also had an educational value in showing the threat of a very large, aroused wild beast. In a world where people see animals as cartoon characters and digitized toys, the reality of their brutal instincts and their effects is lost. And I suspect the reality of that being a real human being who was flung high in the air to come crashing to the ground seemed, to many, like a comical ending rather than an agonizing, life-threatening collision. We are greatly desensitized. Honestly, I didn’t notice the Tez Johnson part. For that, I am grateful.

  11. OffBall15 Says:

Not going to lie. I laughed hysterically when the Bison sent him into the air.

This year’s Darwin Award goes to…….that guy. And the girl just had to outrun the guy, not the Bison.

Launch Todd exactly like that please.

  12. ModHairKen Says:

Who cares. Let’s talk more about Zyon being bored and the idiots who think Baker, not the impotent Defense, lost the 3rd & 28 game.

  13. ChesterCopperpot Says:

Send Bowles flailing out of town exactly like that please.

  14. Herbiebuc Says:

I thought it was hilarious 😂😂😂

  15. ChesterCopperpot Says:

It was a laugh out loud moment!

  16. jimmy Says:

the old man made a joke about the bison’s short legs.

  17. BucSandhu Says:

The Bucs clip is hilarious. The actual video of the Bison tossing that man is hilarious. The meme’s that have come out of this have me in tears. It’s ok to laugh at people, especially people doing dumb things and not thinking a wild animal will do wild animal things.

  18. BA’s Red Pen Says:

If this our biggest controversy this offseason then it’s a good offseason……BUT it sure looks like that hurt.

  19. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Kind of funny.

  20. Billlbuc Says:

  21. srqbuc Says:

The guy walked it off, the memes are funny. that guy is a legend.

  22. 813bucboi Says:

GEEZ LOL…folks cant take a joke lol….it was hilarious!!!!!!!

    great work BUCS!!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  23. DoooshLaRue Says:

Launch Todd exactly like that please.
    __________

We’re gonna need a much bigger bison to launch Fat Boy Todd.

  24. Bucswin Says:

It was worth it. Just for the first paragraph of this article. I had to read it several times. Probably one of the best starts of a story ever. Keep up the good work Joes. Keeping us entertained and engaged through this soon to be ending football void. Goooo Bucs!

  25. D-Rome Says:

Using the video certainly seems in poor taste

    I agree.

Mobucs, I wholeheartedly agree with everything you wrote. It was an educational video on the raw power of nature and how we have become desensitized to it. He was trying to protect his grandson and the first thing he asked was about the well-being of his grandson.

Yet, the knuckle-dragging mouth breathers here think it’s funny.

  26. BucsFan81 Says:

A bunch of snow flakes don’t know why anyone would get offended. If anyone should be offended it should be the guy that got rammed by the bison while someone filmed it instead of trying to help the guy.

  27. SB~LV 🏈 Says:

This country is soft and can not even laugh without permission

  28. Crazyhorse54 Says:

I’m a bit amazed some of the comments were not ‘moderated’ or even deleted…”drink drano”; “ I laughed hysterically when the Bison sent him into the air”; “ It was a laugh out loud moment!”. Sick in the head people.

  29. ChesterCopperpot Says:

When you are of the company of those who would shake tasseled handles whilst echoing preferred words and phrases you are immune to the actions of being unceremoniously censored by benevolent overlords.

  30. D-Rome Says:

None of you would be laughing if it happened to your mother, father, son, brother, or anyone else you cared about. If you think it’s OK to laugh at someone else’s misfortune, then you’re part of the problem not part of the solution.

  31. Kenton Smith Says:

D-Rome. I certainly wouldn’t have laughed if that had been my dear mom. Hope that helps.

  32. One of those Gater Bois Says:

I’m sure the family of the guy that almost lost his life thinks it was funny as can be. Absolutely zero value for human life any more. What if it was your father, brother or Dad?

    Are you on your period?

  34. Vanessa Anne Says:

Somebody in the Bucs PR department screwed up.

Bad taste on the part of the Bucs organization.

  35. Teacherman Says:

    That video was hilarious.

    America has gone soft.

That dumbass needed to learn not to take pics of à Bison.

Show some respect while the Bison is chillin.

  36. Smashsquatch Says:

It’s impossible to watch that video and not laugh; that includes Carl, the dude who got hurled himself.

  37. buc4evr Says:

Sad, however that guy was hanging out at the shallow end of the gene pool trying to win the Darwin award. I have seen bison that make mini vans look small in Yellowstone. It always amazes me how people just walk right up to them to get a picture. One time I saw a whole van full of Japanese kids in karate uniforms exit the van a run up to two Bison to get pictures. Luckily nothing happened. Could have ended in tragedy. Then there are the idiots that think the thermal springs are just like hot tubs. lol.

  38. Pickgrin Says:

“If you think it’s OK to laugh at someone else’s misfortune, then you’re part of the problem not part of the solution.”

So I guess you’ve never EVER watched America’s Funniest home Videos at any point in the last 35 years – based on your impeccable principles…. (eye roll)

Looks like the morally outraged vocal minority has triumphed again – as the video is now taken down. I can only assume the Bucs will also cave to perceived repercussions from the cancel culture by issuing an ‘apology’ in short order….. which is sad……

  39. Permanently Moderated Says:

You Beta Males need to chill out and ask your wife if you can use your sack sometime.

  40. Bosch Says:

Doctoring and posting tat videos was Bowles idea. Fire him!

  41. Bosch Says:

“ One time I saw a whole van full of Japanese kids in karate uniforms exit the van a run up to two Bison to get pictures. Luckily nothing happened. ”

The Bison 🦬 was afraid to do anything cause the kids knew karate.

  42. Crazyhorse54 Says:

Time to step in, Joes. The attack on principles has gone over the line.

  43. Larrd Says:

That video was all over the internet before the Bucs used it. It went viral because it was funny. People were already laughing at it. Shouldn’t they be castigated, too?

  44. Bucnjim Says:

It would be in poor taste if he died! Maybe even if his life was ever in danger after the attack (it wasn’t) So this guy is going to have a good laugh the rest of his life because he escaped a Bison attack. Good for him!

  45. SteveBucsFan Says:

“So I guess you’ve never EVER watched America’s Funniest home Videos at any point in the last 35 years – based on your impeccable principles…. (eye roll)”

I REALLY need someone to explain to me the difference between 1) a family submitting their OWN videotaped misfortune in the hopes of winning some prize money, and 2) a billion dollar organization using a scraped viral video of a 65 year old man getting seriously injured by a mf’n bison to hype the upcoming season. Please….asking for a friend.

You can debate all you want about how and why the man got in the position he was in, but you can’t really debate that a line was crossed by the team’s social media crew.

  46. MadMax Says:

Its gone now i guess, but you can still find it on the tube…..funny to see and hopefully he recovers from a broken hip, but dude will make some bank from that vid.

  47. Rod Munch Says:

    And the terrorists win again.

  48. ChesterCopperpot Says:

Can the Bison play defensive end?

I believe our expert on defensive pass coverage would have the DE Bison chasing down pass catchers 20 yards down the field.

How cool would it be to see Drake London get sent flailing through the air by the raging Bison!

Licht should contact the Bison’s representatives to get contract talks going.

  49. Upstate NY BUC Says:

That Bison has better moves than Braswell!!! Go Bucs

  50. ChesterCopperpot Says:

The Bison has already shocked the world!

  51. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Pickgrin

    Seriously?

A shame your in the Make America A$$holes Again cult.

  52. Stpetematt Says:

This video was in poor taste unless they got permission from the guy to air it. If they did, I’d be fine with it. If they didn’t, then not so much. I’m with D-Rome generally on this.

  53. headstoskywayaftergame Says:

Wow. How soft have we become ? Dude made a choice to mingle with a bison. Good job Bucs. Thanks for the laugh. Virtue signaling is lame

  54. Upstate NY BUC Says:

Left, Right Chill out people. Who cares, it was funny!!! Take a hit.

  55. Stpetematt Says:

There’s a major difference between America’s funniest home videos and this. In AFHV, people are submitting videos of themselves. And AFHV is especially funny for that very reason.

  56. ChesterCopperpot Says:

    Bison 1 Man 0.

    Hilarious!

  57. bill Says:

i remember growing up there was a whole syndicated tv series dedicated to clips like this. times also seemed to be better back then … coincidence?

  58. Kenton Smith Says:

One of those Gator Bois. “What if it was your father, brother, or dad?” Funny. Funnier. Funny. Redundantly funny. All’s well that ends well.

  59. Anyhony Says:

You guys are morons! They were in a camp sight! The Bison came into the campground, they didn’t go out to harass it, it came and harassed them. I hope a similar fate falls upon all you cold hearted fools.

  60. Idroolpewter&red Says:

While the Bucs Media Department may have used somewhat poor judgment posting the video, Mr Isom-McDaniel showed much worse judgment at Yellowstone Park and he’s fortunate that he’s the only one injured, and his grandson walked away from that confrontation alive, even if he is laid up for a while.

  61. Delusional Intelligence Says:

No worries the Thought Police will let me know how I should feel about this.

  62. Bosch Says:

I predict the Bucs ownership will get some negative national press in the next day or so . Maybe this will take a little attention away from the WNBA.

  63. DONALD Says:

The link didnt load for me doggoneit

  64. Mobucs Says:

For the record, I am not against the video in its original, documentary iteration. What I criticize is the digital tampering to ridicule an innocent man’s suffering. He did nothing to provoke the attack; you Darwinians are wrong. Likewise, all those saying, “No harm done.” I don’t know the extent of his injuries –someone mentioned at least a broken hip– but they weren’t minor and could have been worse. If this were a cartoon or an edgy fictional comedy, that would be different because the subject would first be depicted as evil or arrogant, somehow deserving of a comeuppance. And no real animals, including humans, would have been harmed in the filming.

  65. #1bucsfan Says:

Who care. Bunch of snow flakes. Poor taste. Come on Joe. It’s really not that big of a deal. Shoot he’s going viral and now is famous. Poor guy 🤦‍♂️

  66. Buccos Says:

Play stupid games. Win stupid prizes

  67. ScottyMack Says:

Good lord! Yeah, I’m sure there are some snowflakes out there that get their feelings bent out of shape anytime ANYONE is perceived to be hurt by something.

Can’t do much about that other than to advise them that they would lead much happier lives if they worried less about other people and more about themselves. I guarantee you that the overwhelmingly vast majority of people don’t care about them. That’s the real world we live in. Join it someday!

Fun fact… every joke uses a person, place or thing as a punchline. There’s always a ‘victim’ you unfunny and uninteresting dullards.

A much better watch ! Lynchmob and 328 hanging off the horns with mike evans jocks on their heads!!

  73. Bojim Says:

    Very bad taste.

  74. citrusbuc Says:

As long as he is fine. I think its fine. To see that bison flip a 200lb man up in the air like pine straw is mind boggling. If you cant chuckle alittle by the way the man looked spinning around in the air is on you. smdh.

  75. Will Says:

That man from the article I read was a grandpa in his 80’s. To see someone his age hurled in the air and spun around was concerning. I’m glad he’s alive after that trauma from the Bison. I don’t think it’s funny, and the Bucs media group could have come up with some other type of powerful piece. Since you used his accident you should pay him royalties, maybe it will help his medical bills.
This just irks me to see a senior hurt but more so taken advantage of in this manner.
