Mike Evans’ Agent Quickly Contradicts Himself
March 2nd, 2026The stench in the air Joe smells reminds Joeriving through the dairy fields of a Midwest countryside on a warm, humid summer night when the farmers were just finished spreading sh!t.
It’s thick out there, boys and girls.
Known fearmonger, Mike Evans’ agent Deryk Gilmore, just got caught talking out of both sides of his mouth.
Last week, appearing on WDAE (95.7 FM/AM 620), Gilmore made it clear Evans, who is expected to be a free agent next week when the free agency dinner bell rings, “wants to look at all 32 teams.” You know, “Show me the money!”
So either Gilmore was flat out lying to Bucs fans on the radio or he is flat out lying to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.
Apparently, Gilmore provided Fowler wa list of criteria a team must meet for Evans to consider playing it for next year. Shockingly (sarcasm alert), 32 teams do not meet the requirements. Not even close.
Per Fowler, here are the prerequisites:.
* Evans wants a quarterback he believes in.
* Team has a shot at a Super Bowl.
* Team has a top-shelf offensive coordinator.
* Wants a promise for a lot of targets.
As Joe has stated, Gilmore is a bad liar. Let’s break these demands down in relation to Evans and the Bucs.
Quarterback
It seems Evans is tight with Baker Mayfield. So Joe doesn’t think Mayfield is an issue. Remember, until Evans broke his collarbone, he had no trouble racking up yards with Mayfield throwing him the ball.
Super Bowl Shot
Uh, oh. This is very tricky. Joe cannot say with a straight face the Bucs are a Super Bowl contender. The way the defense played last year and how the offense collapsed in the second half, even after it got healthier, Joe isn’t 100 percent confident the Bucs are NFC South contenders.
After seeing how Evans reacted in the tunnel after the choke job against Atlanta at home, Joe thinks the Bucs would have to give a helluva sales pitch to make him think the Bucs are a Super Bowl contender.
Offensive Coordinator
Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht said at the combine last week that going back to “Liam’s offense” would be “beneficial” to certain Bucs players. Was Licht suggesting Evans would be a beneficiary with Zac Robinson, a Sean McVay disciple like Liam Coen, coming to town to run the offense?
Targets
This is another area where Joe thinks Gilmore is full of it. No, Evans wouldn’t get the same targets with the Bucs that he would if he played for the Chiefs or Bills. But guess what? He also won’t get double- or triple-covered with the Bucs as he would with the Chiefs or the Bills.
Again, Gilmore is a fearmonger. He has conned people before that Evans had one foot out the door. He’s trying to play people again.
The fact Gilmore patently lied within a span of five days about what his client seeks should be a big tip off for Bucs fans that Gilmore is trying to shake down the Bucs for more Team Glazer loot.
That’s what agents do: Beg and lie to try to get the best deal for their clients and, indirectly, a cut for themselves.

Who gives you a better path to the super bowl maholmes or mayfield? Who do you trust more maholmes or mayfield? Do i really need to answer that question. I think Evans signs with the chiefs for a 2 year deal but then again maybe im wrong.

man… evans in chiefs gear would be soul crushing to bucs fans.

I’m tired of both Evans, and the David saga at this point. Mike still has some big play ability, but at this stage of his career let him walk. Think he won’t miss time with hammy issues again this season? You’re dreaming if you think he won’t. David deciding if he comes back? Crazy the Bucs are welcoming him back, he’s washed. They’re not going to get better resigning aging players who helped us to a 8-9 record.

Evans is probably in his last year or two so he is going for the cash. I can’t blame him. There is no way this team is going to the SB with Bowles and this total disaster of a defense. I really don’t expect Licht to do anything different this year. I think he said that. So another bad draft and sleeping on FAs that could help the defense. Bye Mike, it’s been real.

Ander. In the last 3 years in the NFL Baker has played all 51 games. Mahomes has played 46 games. The wussy. He’s thrown 95 TDS compared to 75 for wussy Mahomes. He’s thrown for way more yards the past 3 years. Baker has a QB rating over 5 points higher than Patrick the last 3 years. Imagine if Mike would have caught all the bombs Baker stuck right in his hands that he instead dropped. Yes, Baker has thrown 37 picks in 3 years and Patrick has only thrown 36. Baker played 5 more games so he’s better there, too. Baker is a better QB than Mahomes is, but the Kansas City Chiefs have been a far better team than the Buccaneers. That’s not true anymore.

So is Gilmore not evaluating all 32 teams against this criteria? Just because some or many don’t pass the test doesn’t mean the teams weren’t looked at. Pretty worked up over nothing it seems here

Todd Bowles or Andy Reid
I think the choice is easy

Joe … ‘And honestly, that’s what agents do: Beg and lie to try to get the best deal for their clients, and indirectly, a cut for themselves.’
Nice bottom line Joe. Pretty much tells me though that ‘Hey, agents lie, which you all know, but here’s a story about it anyway’.
Billy Shakespeare (and Leighroy) was right … ‘Much adoo about nothing’.

A team that has finished under .500 in 2 of the last 4 years, and 1 game over in one of the others, with a coach who has proven he can’t coach his way out of a wet paper bag, shouldn’t be (and is not) a Super Bowl contender.

“Double or triple covered.” Ohhhh please, as if Justin Jefferson and Pula etc are singled. It’s all about play design and most importantly – how diverse is a receivers route tree. Now…I know these days real routes and real schemes are fewer and far between with stupid RPO’s to accommodate low iq running qbs and 8 thousand flat routes and bubble screens called every game, but Mike evens has never had close to 100 catches. He’s never been a volume guy. His strength is intermediate to deep routes, and when he catches a 20 yard sideline route he then runs to the sideline because I think he’s gravely injured or something and I fall for it every-single-time. ANY-way you think Andy Reid wouldn’t find a way to get him 100 catches for the first time in his life? He would be used in ways with Mahomes that he would never be used. Guarantee that is a consideration for Evans whether Bucs fans want to admit it or not
