Does Mike Evans Want A Two-Year Deal?
March 2nd, 2026
If Mike Evans tests free agency when the dinner bell rings next Monday, he’ll surely find at least a team or two willing to give him a two-year contract.
How a team would value the 2027 version of Evans at 34 years old is unclear, but there will be a club willing to put a price on securing Evans for 2026 and 2027. Joe has no doubt.
Heck, coming off a major knee injury (ACL), receiver Stefon Diggs signed a three-year, $63.5 million deal with the Patriots last March. Diggs turned 32 in November.
Last March, Rams receiver Davante Adams signed a two-year, $44 million contract — at 32 years old.
Joe supposes there’s a chance Evans might only want a one-year contract, but that seems unlikely.
There’s great confidence at JoeBucsFan.com world headquarters that Evans will re-sign with Tampa. And man, it would be a lot of fun if Evans commits to two more seasons. That could turn out to be a questionable decision by the Bucs if Father Time tackles Evans from behind, but it feels like a gamble worth taking.

I said it at the start. ME is not going anywhere. Why would he? To chase a SB ring? He already has one. Oh, and YES Buffalo is just beautiful this time of the year. And maybe Mike needs to be reminded that city is Snakebit. Winning a Super Bowl in Buffalo is never going to happen.

I grew up a Bills fan and moved here in 1997. By 1998, I was a Bucs fan. The Bucs rewarded me with 2 Super Bowls which was something I suffered through in NY. I sincerely doubt the Bills win anytime soon- especially if they never pick up receiving help.

Let this year be LVD’s last year and 2027 be Mike’s last hurrah. Yeah, it’s a gamble but those guys earned it. Yes, there needs to be backups but I’m not ready to let them go…..yet!!

If they re-sign him straight up, without the tag, it sends a great message to FAs. That Licht thinks they are close.
If you want to change the view of the Bucs, get Maxx. Honestly, even if it costs two 1st Round picks. Then get a ILB in FA. And a G.

Don’t care what he does anymore. Stay, go, we’ll be .500 either way.

Hodad, that’s a pretty positive outlook you have there. Eoes that carry over to the rest of your life?

BB, what have they shown to make me feel different? You think signing Evans, David back equals championship? We’ve been running it back since Brady retired to no avail. It ain’t happening this season either.

Well Joe I definitely agree. Hopefully you saw my post earlier mentioning that your competitor thinks Evans is more leaning toward leaving than staying based on his info. I like the 2 year deal for a few reasons, believe the Bucs would too.
Anyway sure hope you are correct Joe

Hodad catches the wave. Hangs 10.

Mike’s agent is just doing is typical agent dance to get Mike the deal he wants..that’s his job and he’s pretty good at it. Evans isn’t going anywhere. The Bucs will figure out a deal that works for both sides.

Mike Evans is a Hero!

Gonna be sad with that confidence joe when he leaves Evans is looking for a three year deal.

Evans isn’t worth 20m+ a year.
Time isnt kind to receivers over 32 and Evans is already breaking down – he’s slower, pushes off more than ever, and is missing more games than he ever has.
Just like with D. Brooks before him, its time to move on.

Hodad is correct. Mike Evans doesn’t make you a Super Bowl contender. He disappeared in the Super Bowl while Gronk and Brown took over. He’s a fantasy stats hero.
