Bucs Now Have One-In-Four Shot Of Playing In Europe This Fall

March 3rd, 2026

Allianz Arena in Munich, where the Bucs hosted a game in 2022.

Most folks don’t like it; most folks hate it. But these games aren’t going anywhere. In fact, there will only be more.

NFL regular season games being played overseas aggravate fans of the “home” team. Joe gets it. That’s one less party day that you’ve waited for all year long.

But Joe also gets that there is a whole lot of gold in them thar hills in the Alps, in the Serranía del Ajuscos, in the Sierra de Guadarramas, in the Serra dos Órgãos and in the Blue Mountains.

NFL owners aren’t known for turning down cash laying on the sidewalk.

What does this have to do with the Bucs? Well, two teams the Bucs will play on the road this fall, the Lions and the Dixie Chicks, will have home games in Europe.

The Lions will host a game in Munich. The Dixie Chicks will host a game in Madrid. Both are on the Bucs’ 2026 road schedule.

The Bucs have eight road games this year. Two opponents will host a game in Europe. So that’s a one-in-four chance, 25 percent, the Bucs will need to have their passports up to date. (Yes, Joe knows the math on probability doesn’t add up that way, but it’s fun to think of it that way nonetheless).

If the Bucs play in Munich, Joe can only advise fans to start looking for loose change in between your couch pillows.

Back in 2022, Joe didn’t know what to expect covering the Bucs in Munich. The experience blew Joe away. Not just a football thing, but a life experience.

If the Bucs play in Munich, Joe just has one word to offer.

“Go!”

Yes, Go! Go be That Man and enjoy the experience! As for me and my house, we don’t travel that far.

What are the odds of them moving to Europe? Manchester? London?

    Party on Leopoldstrasser.

So stupid. I’m done with the anti american and greedy NFL

That’s a long way to go to see the Bucs give up a 3rd and 28 and watch Baker throw another 4th quarter interception.

I can confirm, the math doesn’t work that way.

But ‘fun’ – not so sure.

Also the Eurotrash are never going to accept real football, just like we’re never going to accept that 3rd world game played by girls in middle school, known as soccer.

The NFL has been trying this nonsense since NFL Europe failed. It’s never going to take off. The tiny Eurotrash brain can’t understand all the rules of real football – all they know are soccer rules, “kick ball in net,” anything more complex than that and they get lost. Also whatever their watching needs to be simple since they’re all drunk – which of course is a byproduct of watching something as boring as soccer since you need to entertain yourself for 99% of the game (well 99% metric, 100% imperial).

Anyways, give it up already NFL. It’s never going to happen, we can not drag up the rest of the world to our standards.

The krauts like American football. The NFL’s best TV ratings in Europe are in Germany.

You can make up for it by guzzling the best beer in the world out of those quart steins.

Had a great time at the last 2 international games we played. Lost 1 and won 1. Wins are always better but they were both great experiences. Madrid or Munich, I am there!

  10. JCBucs Says:

Also, odds are 50/50. They either will or they wont.

I looked up the TV ratings for Germany, and you’re right, they’re quite a bit better than I was expecting. Also, I’m reminded of one of the two NFL Europe teams I still remember by name, the Frankfurt Galaxy – and I do recall them doing big numbers way back in ‘the day’.

Also Joe, if you end up going to Germany again, here’s some Grade A comedy you can use on the locals there, they’ll love it.

‘If a Nuremberg football team holds player tryouts, do they legally have to call them the Nuremberg Trials?’

Hope we haven’t started scheduling games in the UAE yet. I know that it’s in the works. May wanna hold off on that for a bit.

  15. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

The only way for me to enjoy the game would be to be there but that is highly unlikely at this point. Maybe we’ll make it one day.

  16. Section218Since98 Says:

Lots of fun stuff is legal in Germany…………..

  17. Tackleblockwin Says:

At least it would be a road game on the schedule and not a home game.

Tempting. I visited Munich in 1990 while on tour. First American restaurants I’d seen all year.

    Great people back then too.

I found this article from last February. I don’t know why, but it sounds familiar to me even though I’m sure I never read it before.

Seahawks OC Klint Kubiak: Geno Smith ‘a huge draw’ in coming to Seattle

Mike Macdonald’s first season as Seahawks head coach nearly saw the playoffs, but a middling offense ultimately held back Seattle. As a result, the club moved on from offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb following the 2024 campaign and hired Klint Kubiak soon thereafter. Geno Smith is one of the main reasons why Kubiak decided to come to the Pacific Northwest.

…Smith’s 4,320 passing yards in 2024 set a new single-season record for the franchise, passing a mark he set the previous year. The veteran QB also set a new career-high mark in completion percentage (70.4) during a campaign where the Seahawks’ rushing attack didn’t provide much help (95.7 rushing yards per game; 28th in NFL).

Seattle’s imbalance on offense was the crux that held it back. Smith did his best to carry the Seahawks through the air but ended up throwing the third-most interceptions in the NFL (15) along that effort.

…Since 2023, Smith has authored seven fourth-quarter comebacks and produced eight game-winning drives, leading the league in both categories during that span, per NFL Research. Entering the final year of his contract in 2025, Smith’s consistent play over the last three seasons is expected to result in a contract extension this offseason…
