Sean Tucker Proud Of His Blocking
February 23rd, 2026Bucs running back Sean Tucker is a restricted free agent. And it seems he’s grown tired of a label that has been slapped on him.
When Tucker was first signed by the Bucs, and in his early years, he struggled with pass protection. That’s one reason he wasn’t on the field much.
Under former Bucs offensive coordinator Liam Coen, Tucker exploded. And he improved his blocking, though he still had episodes of whiffs.
Now that he’s looking for a new contract, Tucker has gone on the offensive: He took to Twitter yesterday to display a cut-up of plays in which he got the job done blocking.
It is as if Tucker was telling people, “I can block, man. Here’s proof.”
Later today, Joe lands in Indianapolis as does the football world as the combine begins Tuesday and the Indiana Convention Center in the heart of downtown Indianapolis turns into the NFL’s beehive and nerve center this week.
Tomorrow, Joe will get a chance to chat with Bucs coach Todd Bowles and Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht. So we’ll get an idea if the Bucs plan to retain Tucker.
Joe initially thought if another team wanted Tucker as a starter the Bucs would wave goodbye. But without Rachaad White, who shat all over the rug of One Buc Palace on his way out the door in January, and Bucky Irving coming off shoulder surgery, one could argue that in the final days of February 2026, Tucker is the Bucs’ No. 1 back, on paper.
Here is a link that explains the compensation for a restricted free agent.

Ask Licht if he plans to lie to us again about Zyon and Yaya, SVD, Hall and Braswell, about Kancey being healthy, about Bowles being ready.
Ask him how he plans to get top tier FAs with the team looking like it’s just hit an iceberg.
And finally, ask him if the clowns who kept Bowles are going to let Mike Evans leave.
That would be a humiliating kick in the crotch.

Many miles away, there’s a shadow on the door…
Ahem. Anyways, Bucs will be able to sign plenty of free agents including Tucker and Evans.

ModHairKen I hit the nail on the head.
Who’s gonna shock the world this year?

Tucker is an RB1 on a lot of teams tbh

@StPeteMatt
Would be nice if they’d go out & sign some FAs (decent ones) but that’s something they just don’t do. Maybe they shock everyone.

Yes, the Bucs need to resign Tucker. No, the Bucs can’t afford to resign Evans. Why is that? Because Licht had to feed his ego and resign a broken down Godwin. Godwin’s 2026 Cap Hit is $33.68 mil. Then an unproven McCollum for a 2026 cap hit of $15.67 mil. There would be plenty of money to resign Evans had Licht acted in the best interest of the team, instead of trying to pad his “resign his draft pick” numbers. Had Licht not wiffed on so many high value defense picks, his percentage wouldn’t be in jeopardy.

Did JL wiff on picks? Or is TB unable to develop raw talents into NFL talent? Why does he not wiff on as many offensive players? Hmmmm

Tucker is like a pocket knife-he is useful and can hurt you.
Mike will sign for 15-17 mil base with another 5-6 available in full season bonus production incentives (Bonus incentives DO NOT count against cap). ME13 is a Buc for life.
Praying Love is available at 15 , because with Love and not so many injuries for a change-offense will score way more points.

FACT: Tucker whiffed on multiple blocks.
That does not mean he is ineffective runner; Just a bad blocker.
He did improve on his special teams blocking or we would have had more blocked punts.
