Todd Bowles Outlines His Schedule For This Week

January 7th, 2026

So what’s going on now at One Buc Palace?

Joe realizes many fans assume today is the day Todd Bowles meets with Team Glazer and details what went wrong this season and lays out his plan for the future — or Team Glazer thanks him for his service and dectivates Bowles’ key card.

Bowles spoke yesterday on the Buccaneers Radio Network and talked about what an end of the season schedule looks like for him. He didn’t mention ownership.

“The first things we do the first couple of days is evaluations and exit interviews for the players,” Bowles said. “So they get to see all the coaches — the head coach, the special teams coach, their position coaches and everything else. So we get to see and talk to them individually about what they need to do going forward, coming back and what we expect to see from them.

“So that takes a couple of days and then after that, we’ll have our player rankings as coaches, and we’ll go over that and look at that. After that, I’ll evaluate and meet with the coaches. We’ll have those meetings and go through that.”

How long all of that takes is unclear. (A full week?) But it’s a safe bet player meetings wrapped up yesterday. And if Joe were guessing, Joe would say Bowles’ meeting with Team Glazer happens today.

Hopefully today is the day. Bounce this bum!!!
Again even if he unfortunately stays what good OC or DC is going want to come here knowing dam well it’s probably a one year gig. If if he stays he cannot be allowed to be the DC. Jason needs to make that clear. Can’t believe this guy still has a job honestly. Someone tell me what he’s good at what’s he bring to the table.

  2. Fishhawkbuc Says:

I would love to see his self evaluation.

  3. stucbuc Says:

Why is this taking so long

  4. Dubcity6 Says:

Zero talent on the roster.. Lovie, Mike Smith, and Todd all struggled with the severe lack of talent on. The defense.. the only year there was any talent on that side, we got a superbowl

Jason Litch picking the groceries is not the move yall have been hyping it up to be.. admit you were wrong.. this team is devoid of defensive talent..

And next year… the schedule will be 10 times harder against nothing but teams with much better rosters.. much much better.

Regardless of who the coach is, expect a 5 win season… start over then..

  5. LVMYBUCS Says:

Dude u had all season. Todd Bowles is just a snake oil salesmen nothing is going to get better under him.

  6. SB~LV 🏈 Says:

    I Haul ?

  7. HC Grover Says:

    They are keeping him.

  8. heyjude Says:

I am sorry, shouldn’t you be talking to your team as well individuals throughout the entire season? What a meeting before and after a meeting? Am I missing something? Heck, since the bye they should have been meeting and evaluating.

  9. Freddy PA Moxie Says:

Is this the day we hear, “Todd, you need to bring a DC.”

    Todd says, “Can’t do that.”

Glazers say, “Then that’s all she wrote, buddy.”

    See ya.

  10. McBucky Says:

Seriously? What do we need ANOTHER year of mediocrity to see what Bowles is capable of? The guy hasn’t changed since his stint in New York! He had and has some of the best players in the league at his disposal and he brings them all down!

  11. BrianBucs Says:

    Hopefully Bowles schedule includes packing

  12. Bucs Since ORANGE & WHITE Says:

I live in Baltimore since 2005…but grew up in Tampa in the 80s..90s..and early 2000s…im a ultra Tampa fan..point is since seeing the Slavens up close by default..john is mega overrated..he had lamar 8 plus years and literally has done nothing…same with Brady and Belicheat…the QBs carried these trash coaches..
HE MAKES HORRIBLE DECISIONS constantly…He literally the same as Bowles..
Most Tampa fans may not agree BUT IM FOCED TO HEAR BALTIMORE RADIO DAILY ETC…this guy is not the answer…HE WASTED LAMAR EVERY YEAR..they changed OCs & DC so many times and it never worked because of the HC..

Brian flores had vikings D electric…
We got a glimpse last year with coen on what we can be with PROPER COACHING…

  13. Bucs Since ORANGE & WHITE Says:

    If bucs fire bowles

He wont be a hc anywhere else
Id be surprised if he was even a DC anywhere
He had a good run…from our perspective he should just retire

  14. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Glazers to Bowles”Todd, you’re safe….we’ve just got to “own” it better.”

  15. AMI_Chris Says:

Wednesday: get fired. Thursday: start interviewing for DC jobs.

  16. David Says:

This is ridiculous. There should be no schedule other than him getting his résumé together.
    He should’ve been fired Monday.

  17. Faspro Says:

Todd gets extension for five years…

  18. AlstottNumber1 Says:

Remember this last offseason when Bowles had the epiphany that you had to outscore your opponents????

Did he forget about that evaluation???

Keeping Bowles employed is like giving a Heroin addict more drugs and expecting them to clean up and get sober.

10-7 was his glass ceiling with an OC that got the offense to score 30+ per game.

Then the defense couldn’t force one punt at home, versus a rookie QB in his first playoff game.

Bowles will never change. And he can only survive in the worst division in football.

This decision should take two seconds to figure out.

  19. Bee Says:

Don’t be surprised if Bowles returns for next season. He needs to help the Bucs out and do what he does best, and thats lose. Put the Bucs in position to draft top 10 then he can retire a millionaire.

Funny thing is, Bowles can try his best and use all of his coaching skills and still get the Bucs that top 10 pick. That’s the Bucs only hope, a down year to get draft capital and attract a young offensive HC.

Reloading with this roster isnt good enough!

Retreats and re-hires won’t work. Its time the Bucs tried something new.

  20. HC Grover Says:

When can NFL teams hire opponent assistant coaches and coordinators. Are the woke hiring rules still in effect?

  21. Bee Says:

Don’t be surprised if Bowles returns for next season. He needs to help the Bucs out and do what he does best, and thats lose. Put the Bucs in position to draft top 10 then he can retire a millionaire.

  22. ocala Says:

If Bowles is fired, I would bet big money not only would no team hire him to be their HC, but no team would hire him as the DC either. Fire Bowles!

  23. BucsFan81 Says:

Yea I have a feeling they are keeping him. Watch Harbaugh go to Atlanta and own us for the next 10 years as we have clueless Bowles running the show. I agree with everyone else I won’t watch a single game next year if Bowles is coach. over him and the crap show he puts on the field every week. I have been a fan since 1997 and I think have maybe missed 2 Bucs games since then in total. Enough is enough though fans want him gone so do the right thing and put him out on the curb.

  24. OrlandoBucsFan Says:

Please bring in John Harbaugh !!!! Glazers owe this fan base a splash hire!!!!!

  25. Told You Says:

Bowles’ lover @Lakeland has been awfully quiet since the Harbaugh announcement and @Rod Munch has gone a 180!

  26. Adrnagy Says:

Class and respectful organization. Who would like to get fire from the job by just walking in to work. ?
Talk , evaluate. , communicate expectations and performance. Then fire. Clean.

  27. Ryan Says:

I am going to bet that Bowles gets 1 more year to get a new oc and Licht to get a DE, veteran press man corner, and a LB to replace / fill in for Lavonte. Then cut it off if next year shows the same colors.

  28. JohnQCitizen Says:

    Just do it!

  29. gotbbucs Says:

Bowles is a dead man walking, he just doesn’t know it yet.

Bowles is going through the correct motions to get his buyout money for retirement, and the Glazer conglomerate is going through almost the exact time frame they always do when it comes to firing coaches. They are never the first team to pull the plug unless its absolutely obvious like with Raheem, Schiano, and Lovie.

I just cannot see how they can keep him around at this point.

  30. Ugo Says:

Dubcity, just stop, Todd has his horses that he handpicked on defenive side of the ball. He himself said talent wasn’t the issue. The defensive side of the ball was healthier this year’s than the last couple of years yet it was the worst defense of the last few years. This all points to Todd not being to manage both HC and DC duties at the same time. Since he is stubborn and wouldn’t give up DC playcalling after last year, he needs to eat his crow. The defensive failure this year is on his shoulders and because of his scheme, yet he threw everyone under the bus. Get him out of here, it is time(and I actually liked Bowles)

  31. Joe in Michigan Says:

    1) Get his pink slip

    2) Get his stuff

    3) Leave the building

  32. Bnasty25 Says:

Watching God awful first take and heard bowles is 2nd in blown 4th quarter leads in 1/4 of the time of Harbaugh

  33. Tucker Says:

Betting line is at 60 percent he gets fired and going up either glazers do the right thing or I’ll be homeless this week.

  34. johnnythemoon Says:

Glazers put us out of our misery and let us know

  35. Freddy PA Moxie Says:

With all this talk of 7 openings and 7 teams have called/contacted Harbaugh (one of which is obviously not the Ravens)… It’s like, who is the 7th team????

It reminds me of the NWO during its inception of “Who is the 3rd man?!”

And, of course, it’s Hulk Hogan! I’m not saying John Harbaugh is Hulk Hogan, but he sure as heck isn’t TL Hopper.

  36. BigZ Says:

    @ Bucs since Orange&White…

    If bucs fire bowles

He wont be a hc anywhere else
Id be surprised if he was even a DC anywhere

I’ve said the same thing for two years.
The guy will never coach a 11 plus team. He doesn’t have it in him.

  37. Deeboooo Says:

If you were Harbaugh. Would you rather coach the players in ATL or Tampa?

Yall missing the point that coach is only a part of what’s going on. No one here can look at our roster and say we’re Super Bowl caliber.

I don’t know how half of you thought that at the start of this season. With old
Lavonte heading up the LBer core…. Come on let’s get real. Right now I see ya as the third for rank of player personnel in NfC south. We might have missed our “run it back” window from our last Super Bowl
At this point, and perhaps the Glazers and Licht know this

  38. heyjude Says:

Bucs Since ORANGE & WHITE – Agreed, I have heard the same about Harbaugh. Family in MD. Flores is a great choice and he is only 44 years old. Fiery yes.

If Todd was to be let go, he may retire. I am only guessing, but there may be a team that does take him though. But with the pay-out he may just retire and enjoy life.

  39. Scott Says:

I don’t get why they’re holding onto the dead weight. They are trying to save some money, but fans are going to jump ship having to watch that same thing over and over again.

  40. Guy In the Stands Says:

Why would anyone waste time with special teams coach?
If we could lay a futures bet on that being someone different next year BET THE HOUSE!

Special teams was an abysmal disaster ALL year.

  41. View from 132 Says:

So players need to sit through an evaluation with a coach or position coach that is likely not returning to the team? This is all out of order. Establish next year’s staff – have them evaluate the tape.

  42. Fred McNeil Says:

Bowlzo just makes too many stupid decisions. His clock management also stinks. He waits way too long to bench his favorites. He constantly drops his best pass rushers into pass coverage. Last 2 years I had figured we would be more likely to find a slightly worse coach than a better one. Not anymore. Most anybody would be an improvement.

  43. eoschwartz Says:

It’s not about money. The Bucs kept paying Arians to do nothing. Gruden got paid after his firing. They spent on Godwin with no guarantees he’d ever be the same player. It’s about the product on the field. Buc fans and the Glazers want a team that shows up every week and is prepared for opponents.

Bowles has failed in every way possible. 3rd and 28 is the nail in the coffin. Getting beat by a Saints rookie quarterback in a game that could have helped clinch a playoff spot, at HOME. Being embarrassed in Prime Time nationally televised games, highlighted by Rams putting up 35 points by halftime! Drake Maye throwing for 5 touchdowns, at HOME. Not containing Josh Allen who accounted for 6 touchdowns by HIMSELF. Kirt Cousins 4-0 against the Bucs past 2 seasons.

These are inexcusable flop-chokes, most in font of home crowd or on national TV.

How can ownership be embarrassed in front of their own fans and on prime time this many times in one season? It’s too bad of a look on their decision making. My opinion only but does ownership want to be made to look like inept owners? I highly doubt they will put their inviting this below average in every aspect career losing HC. If I’m wrong and he is retained it will be very hard to plan my future Sundays around hoping for the Bucs to show up and be ready to perform for their fans. Love the Bucs, hate this version of them.

  44. Fred McNeil Says:

    I don’t really want Harbaugh.

  45. Deeboooo Says:

    Eoschwartz

I think those flops fall just as much on our franchise QB

  46. Scott Says:

I feel like Jason Licht has fell into the same thing Bowles has with their “system” and unwillingness to change. A player with an attitude in the ministry would probably be crossed right off of Jason’s board no matter how good they are.

  47. Scott Says:

And a mean streak.. not ministry lol

  48. Paratrooper Buc Says:

My gut tells me that unless we get Harbaugh, we will have Bowles back for another year. If Bucs have a bad record then he is gone and maybe Baker if he can’t bounce back.

  49. Allen Lofton Says:

We are waiting to hear from the Glazers. The longer we wait seems to indicate another year of Todd Bowles. Will there be a change of strategy by him. The last couple of seasons has shown not enough 😪 The older you get, the harder it is to change.

Change is needed. Will it happen. Vegas odds say 👎

Brace yourself for another wild ride.

  50. Bucs Fan Joe Says:

The Glazers should be fired or sell the team if he’s not fired this week! This is sick that it’s taking this long!

  51. nick houllis Says:

those who are upset Bowles isnt fired yet, its not too late. while most coaches were fired within a couple days of last game, Jon Gruden wasn’t fired until Jan 16th when the last game was Dec 28th. 19 days

  52. nick houllis Says:

…. bit of irony, Steve Deumig pretty much predicted it would happen about an hour before the word came down. I had that clip recorded somewhere

  53. Aqualung Says:

The circus is looking for new clowns. It’s a perfect post football career for His Failureness.

  54. Robert Says:

The Bucs have the chance to get the coach of a lifetime but they will blow it by keeping Blowels.

  55. Will Says:

Bowles has not picked quality coaches to assist him and coach the team. We can go on and on about all the malfunctions and issues the Bucs have had. We can talk about it for years to come about this team. I’m thinking that we will continue with the same horrible actions and get the same results, if Bowles is allowed to make decision on coaches, plays and other functions. He is not creating a winning environment for this team. Too bad the owners can’t see this and get Harbaugh who knows how to do just that.

  56. nick houllis Says:

I think in the end, firing him after re-signing him just a year year is not a good look for the Glazers. What coach would want to come here if your owner fires you after 1 bad season and you were given a raise and told good job. You guys who want to get rid of Bowles, you need to think about all of these things. Its nice to say Todd MOnken would be a great replacement, and call coach a clown and all that, to me that gets you NOT NOTICED by ownership, who look at people like that the same way as people “im not gonna watch football anymore” after the anthem BS, but they still did. More concerned about their REP than your hate.

  57. Kent23 Says:

He confirmed he’s back for 2026. Canceling my season seats.

  58. Southern BucLife Says:

For all of you that wanted Coach Todd fired …..SUCK IT !!!!!

  59. Daniel Z Says:

Monday – Press conference and pray I don’t get fired.
Tuesday – Pray I dont get fired.
Wednesday – Prayer worked, I didn’t get fired!
Thursday – Wonder how I didn’t get fired.
Friday – Wonder why I didn’t get fired.
