Todd Bowles Answers Question About His Job Security

Is Todd Bowles sure he’ll be the 2026 Buccaneers head coach?
Bowles was asked that directly this afternoon during his news conference at One Buc Palace.
“Have you met with the Glazers? Do you know for a fact that you’re back next year?” Bowles was asked.
This is his verbatim reply: “No, we meet this week. We evaluate like we always evaluate. It hasn’t changed the last three years. We’ll meet this week and I get up and come to work every day trying to figure out how to get better.”
Sort of an odd answer. It sounds like Bowles hasn’t been told by his bosses his job is secure, not even a simple “don’t worry” text.

Don’t worry guys. Todd is going to self evaluate. Everything will be better by spring! Next year he will coach it better and players will play it better. Just you wait, nothing to worry about. We don’t need a marquee player. We just need to execute better. Those who say a leopard can’t change their spots have never met Todd Bowles!

I read somewhere that the Glazers waited till Wednesday to fire Lovie so it’s possible we may not hear anything till then. Only downside to that is 6 other teams getting a head start on a HC search while we sit on our hands and self evaluate.

Spot on Verv7….so many teams getting a head start on a coaching search. Why are they waiting? Bowles is definitely not a good, not even decent head coach. An organization always develops the traits of its leader. Please be aggressive Glazers and get us an aggressive and talented head coach. I’ll evaluate your performance for you Todd……your defense sucks and has sucked since you got here, you are not a good teacher and have never developed any specific defensive player into a high performer. Never developed a pass rusher in the whole time he has been here. Your secondary can’t cover basic assignments and consistently are out of position. You allow an ungodly amount of yards to second and third string QBs. You are the problem and you need to go, either retire or be fired, your choice.

Lots of firings and more to come. We, and the Bucs can want so and so all they want but they would need to want to choose us over the other teams. Let’s use the 2 hottest coaches in college football as an example. Why in the f would a Curt Cignetti or a Marcus Freeman want to come here? This isn’t 2020 when we were just a few pieces away. The Bucs offense with Jameis was second in the NFL in 2019. The foundation was there. What is our foundation now? Besides a defense needs a little more than a coat of paint. Rod-tard is right in that Quarterback situation/future is uncertain at best, a lot of job openings and not a ton of Premo candidates. It really is entirely possible that we’re going to have Irritable BOWLES syndrome for another year. The Bucs have a talent, speed, and depth deficiency lots of changes are coming regardless – it just may not be at the HC level

Just for everyone’s info because I keep hearing the Retire? word but let me make it clear and I think everyone would say the same that in that press conference it did not seem like at all that Retirement is on the table. He is already trying to look at next season. He is going to have to be fired, plain and simple.

The Glazers are a damn joke. They should 100% absolutely fire Bowles and if they are going to they should have done it yesterday. @ Colonel Angus – yeah, it happens quite a bit. Very awkward situations. Hell, they sure didn’t give a damn to kick B.A. to the curb (after Brady DEMANDED-IT) just a couple weeks BEFORE THE DRAFT, and only days after he’d given ZERO indication that HE would NOT BE on the ‘sidelines’ for that upcoming season.

When a coach goes off on a cussing tirade and says the coaches did all they can do and the players need to play better. I’m sorry, but coaches coach and their jobs is to motivate and make players better. The right thing to say is it starts with me and I have to do better and make my players better. At that point you have lost respect from the players. Time to change the regime. Licht needs to go because we cannot draft right. I look at Atlanta, Carolina. Good drafts and in year 2 and 3 it shows. Glazers need to right the ship today

I have been watching and going to games faithfully for the last 20 years. this season with all of the excitement and then the collapse, I just wasn’t invested like every year. shoot, even the Jameis years were more exciting because we could hang with any team but we just couldn’t make it to the playoffs. This team was not fun to watch the last half of the season.

Asking an employee about his employment status is irrelevant. HC Bowles is going to HC the Bucs until they tell him he’s fired/no longer employed. Fan opinions, etc do not matter. Owners make the money decisions. Bowles was central to a SB win and HC for three division titles. Recognizing that and for what he’s done in the community, they extended him in the offseason and installed a sensory room in the Stadium. (Family)
As stated above, my opinion doesn’t matter but I’ve paid a lot of money for suites & tickets over the years; I support Keeping GM Licht/HC Bowles if we bring in a new DC and Special teams coach. Lizard Lick deserves another year considering all of the injuries.

If all they are considering is football related it’s impossible to see why he has not already been fired. The Falcons have already fired their coach and already begun their search.
