Report: Todd Bowles Confirms He Will Coach Bucs In 2026

January 7th, 2026

The word from TampaBay.com is in.

Todd Bowles says he will return as Bucs head coach next season. Bowles wasn’t sure when asked at his season wrap-up news conference on Monday.

Bowles met with the Glazer family, which owns the team, Tuesday and had interviews scheduled with members of his coaching staff Wednesday.

When asked if he was officially back as Bucs head coach for 2026, Bowles confirmed he was in a text message to the Tampa Bay Times

Will this report hold up?

  5. Newbie Says:

I wont spend a penny on this team, on a jersey, nothing, zip, zilch. Ownership making HUGE mistake. THIS IS BS! It’s a wonder why the players have no accountability when our ownership, front office and coaches dont. COMPLETE BS

I hope this is better news than it seems to be.

  9. OLDSCHOOL1976 Says:

    And with that, I’m out.

  10. BucfaninMi Says:

I renounce my fan hood! No new team. No more football. I’m not wasting time or money for something I don’t enjoy anymore. Thanks Glazer! 48 years I’ve been a fan. No more

  11. crasey Says:

Not gonna be a SuperBowl bound year

  12. LVMYBUCS Says:

Players don’t/wont want to play for him. Glazers are dumb.

  13. Ron Mexico Says:

    That sucks.

  14. Lakeland Says:

All you Fake Bucs fans can immigrate to Jacksonville

    We don’t need you

    Good bye 👋👋 👋👋

  15. John Mason Says:

The owners are looking like total airheads….did they not watch the games this season……I for one just will not watch the POS coach nx year…I will follow the Buc’s on Joe Buc’s Fan….can not watch this defense fold over and over again. This is a major F. Up! Bowles is just plan horrible!..Maybe tune in to some Jags games….keep my blood pressure down!

  16. BucsMinisterFuller Says:

Hold fast for another mediocre season!
I will never forgive for that blitz against Stafford.
    NEVER

  17. Phillip Says:

The worst part about Arians leaving was letting him choose his replacement.

The Glazers have regressed back pre Arians and Brady. We would be the number 2 or 3 destination for most candidates.

    Todd Blowes

  18. Hodad Says:

    Go Jags!!

  19. Ricky Says:

They are tanking for 2027 draft.

  20. 941bucsfan Says:

Hahahahahah and to think all you armchair insiders knew lol. Thinking threatening billionaires you wont go to the games that you already dont attend, will help lol. The best part about all of this is Baker, Bowles and Licht are all joined at the hip in 2026.. and if doesnt work out then all 3 of them will be gone. Hate it or love it, its the right thing to do. Its not all bowles fault, and the glazers know that. So if it doesnt work out, all 3 will pay the price and thats okay

  21. No Mercy Says:

Glazers are banking on 2026. If harbaugh joins a team like the Giants and they become a top 5 team that will tell us all we need to know. Remind me!

  22. JustVisiting Says:

I hope Baker and the offense stay (mostly) healthy and play up to their potential next year. That would be worth watching, whatever happens on the defensive end.

  23. adam from ny Says:

this makes no sense when johnny harrr is laying in the weeds and can turn us into the tampa bay ravens literally overnight…

a hard hitting team that comes to play hard nosed football every sunday

  24. Nick jannette Says:

We need to financially boycott the Bucs this year make sure the glazers feel us, and their decision to bring back Todd hurts their pocketbooks.

  25. No Mercy Says:

Bucs lowkey know they might need to find a franchise QB and aren’t sure that baker is him

  26. WM Says:

ABSOLUTE TRASH THE GLAZERS ARE TRASH AND SO IS THIS TEAM TODD TOILET BOWELS IS GABAGE. GET READY TO HAVE THE EXACT SAME CONVERSATION THIS TIME NEXT YEAR FOR THE 4TH CONSECUTIVE YEAR IN A ROW

  27. BOOTSTRAP JACK Says:

Come on, Mr Glacier. If you release Todd Bowles. Which of 32 teams? Do you think we’d pick him up? I say zero.

  28. Conte Piscatelli Says:

I want to hear from the Glazers! If they can’t have a press conference and speak to their fan base they are arrogant cowards and no longer deserving of my money, time, or loyalty!!!

  29. adam from ny Says:

did we even have one hard hit on an opposing player all season…?

    if so please tell me…

    just one…?

    one…

lol i’m asking for one hit in an entire season…one

  30. Mike Davidson Says:

Just means yet another year of me rooting against the Bucs… not sure how even a 3rd place finish at 7-10 would move the spineless Glazer family to sack this loser.

  31. zzbucs Says:

    @LVMYBUCS

“Players don’t/wont want to play for him”

I don’t think that is true by any means…..

I used to be a Bowles defender, not no more…..I am not a hater either.

  32. Buc4ever Says:

    done with them. cancel tickets

  33. Stubby Ryan Says:

Makes sense. Bowles wanted Mayfield. Mayfield is in the last year of his deal(and probably Evans). Either win or be done with both cleanly. No excuses. No explanations.

I don’t agree with it btw. Bowles would be fired and the coaching offices would be vacant until further notice if my last name were Glazer.

  34. No Mercy Says:

Need the Jason Licht conference immediately

  35. bristolgeez Says:

I think I am going to vomit.

  36. IRB BUCS Says:

Glazers have to be the dumbest owners in all of professional sports. How could they not see the team gave up on him? How could they not see the defensive guru HC’s defense sucked? I won’t buy any more merch or go to anymore games while this idiot is the coach. I will still painfully watch the games for as long as I can stomach them, but other than that, they won’t get any more of my hard earned money.

  37. BucfaninMi Says:

Last place is my prediction. 5-12

  38. Andrew in JAX Says:

Taking a break from the Bucs next season because of Bowles incompetence, I am looking forward to following my son’s team (and local) JAGS

  39. QBKilla Says:

Thanks for the depressing news Joe

  40. No Mercy Says:

Bowles isn’t back if Mike Evans isn’t back. Let’s take this as a sign of hope

  41. SufferingFor50 Says:

This is really depressing news. Damn!!

  42. Bucs3 Says:

    Cheap Tix Bucs Fans

Just plan to go as a visitor

  43. Tucker Says:

    ✌️

  44. Bucs3 Says:

Lakeland What has Bowles EVER done as a coach that makes you think he should stay

    Oh I know !!!!!

  45. Bob Says:

If they bring Bowles back it feels like we are in the middle of a 10 game losing streak. I will be going to the beach, playing golf, anything other than watching teams go up and down the field on us at will. This is the worst decision they could have made. I’ve endured enough this season to last me a decade.
Bringing him back shows they don’t care about winning or the fans. I’m sure Ariens had something to do with this and it’s shameful

  46. No Mercy Says:

Would you guys rather have Jon Gruden or Todd Bowles

  47. Tucker Says:

Guess it’s time to take a break and watch basketball see you guys in 2027

  48. Jody McKinzie Says:

I am done. Mediocrity won’t get me to watch or attend.

  49. ChiBuc Says:

I’ll believe it when the Glazers announce it. That family has always been sneaky and Todd is Huckleberry enough to help keep negotiating prices down on a new HC 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

  50. Danny Mac Says:

He must have agreed to bringing in a Defensive coordinator, because he is not the answer to an elite defense. And now a new offensive coordinator for the fourth year in a row. JL better be willing to grab some free agents on defense that actually play with some hunger. And he must nail the draft. I won’t abandon the Bucs, but this was not the news me or ninety five percent of the fan base was wanting to hear.

  51. Lokog Says:

I don’t like it but ill root for the bucs except i gotta get sunday ticket and i probably wont buy the sunday ticket but maybe i will but most likely i won’t but maybe i will damn i dont know

  52. mg Says:

Chicken and beer will be in the locker room.

  53. Optimistic Says:

    6-11

  54. Lakeland Says:

    Bucs3

    3 straight division titles

And we barely missed this season

  55. miracle Says:

the only thing predictable about the glazers is that this statement from Bowles means nothing in reality outside of “he’s CURRENTLY coaching in 26”

He is unless / until they find someone better.

Why let him go if you don’t have the replacement figured out.. There’s no reason to fire him just to fire him.

  56. Tye Says:

WHAT player is worth the Bucs tanking this far out for 2026?…

Glazers national rep becomes village idiots!

  57. deez Says:

    @ Conte Piscatelli ,

judging by your name, are you sure you know what mediocre

  58. Rusty Shackleford Says:

    good. fans here suck

  59. Disgusted Says:

Worst ownership group in the NFL. The team with its 2026 schedule will win 4 or 5 games max.

  60. Twitterfingers Says:

Dine with this team. Can’t watch this for another year.

  61. buc4evr Says:

I will watch them on TV. No more tickets to games. Need to change the name of this blog to Joebucsbi*chfan.com. The hate messages is on this blog are going to be epic. lol.

  62. ChiBuc Says:

If he stays, I sure hope Flores is our new DC

  63. SB~LV 🏈 Says:

    Until he isn’t

  64. Sal Volatile Says:

I may be totally wrong but these are my views.

After the debacle with TB12 and BA and BL leading to TB being head coach the owners got complacent and failed to have satisfactory contingency plans on the shelf. Observing what Canales was able to do with their franchise QB and the lack of quality coaching on the defensive side of the ball in addition to Bowles obvious shortcomings should have been a wake up call. If they let Canales get away because he wasn’t viewed as HC ready so be it. But if they let him get away out of loyalty to Bowles shame on them.

They got a second chance with Coen. Letting him get away was incompetence and failure to read the tea leaves. Just who do they think will come in to the current situation ? Will Baker have a say ?
This situation will spiral down the drain and Bowles will ultimately end up being fired anyway. Dumb Dumb and Dumber

I really don’t care if I am right or if I am wrong. I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired with the Bucs. I’ve been slowly tuning out but the plug is being unplugged for better things in life.

  65. Flush Bowles Says:

This is disappointing news. Other owners won’t even tolerate mediocrity while the Glazers embrace incompetence! If an announcement isn’t made soon that the Special Teams coach has been fired, this will be totally laughable.

  66. ChiBuc Says:

This is JL’s anchor….it’s gonna and should drag him down

  67. Bosch Says:

    Just shoot me.

  68. Ben Says:

F**K RIGHT OFF. R U KIDDING ME? ARE THE GLAZERS JUST BLIND AND DEAF, OR ARE THEY JUST CHEAP!!!???

  69. NashvilleBuc Says:

Get ready for more PIBCIB explanations. The suffering is real.

  70. Jp1979 Says:

Crazy part is the players are telling everyone that Todd’s way isn’t working and they still go with him is crazy . Good thing Florida has more than 1 team.

  71. SenileSenior Says:

Did John Harbaugh have his locker room! Otherwise, what went wrong in Baltimore?

  72. Newbie Says:

Miracle – Yea there are a MILLION reasons to fire him and the entire front office – the primary one is called incompetence. There are plenty of coaches that are better. PLENTY, namely Jim Harbough, Mike McCarthy, Brian Flores, Kevin Stafanski, Kubiak, Minter, Shula… actually anyone not named Raheem Morris.

  73. jcscycles Says:

They really need a CEO of football like other teams are doing. Atlanta is going to bring Matt Ryan in to do that. Denver already has one.

Glazers do not have the football experience to run the franchise on football matters.

Keeping Bowles will only backfire on them unless there are separate DC and OC brought in.
Even then don’t trust Bowles to keep from meddling with them.

This will also hurt Bucs financially and lead to empty seats on Sundays.

    Just a HORRIBLE decision!

  74. SB~LV 🏈 Says:

Not switching my team, been a fan since the first preseason game in the stands, I have seen 250 +- games as a ST holder.
But I will be rooting for the Jaguars in the playoffs!
    Oh !
    Go Miami Hurricanes!

  75. Lakeland Says:

I’m looking forward to a new and better coaching staff
A better showing in free agency
And the upcoming draft of course

    I’m excited for 2026,

We have a lot to look forward to

  76. Coconut Doughnut Says:

    welp…

  77. BucitList Says:

Unbelievable. If you removed the games that we won the past two years that were a result of Baker Mayfield gutting it out on 4th down…or if you remember him “leading” Tom Brady’s last year to an 8-9 record and then blew the season with a horrible defensive call to end the season against the Rams…and how we’ve squeaked by to take the weakest division the past few years then had a massive meltdown to kill the season…he blamed the players, only recently is showing a sign of slight accountability but insists he deserves a second chance because he won the division in the past. Our standard for excellence is gone! This guy may be nice, but he’s about as motivating as Homer Simpson. Look at the teams that have fired their coaches…the Ravens! Now that’s a team with a culture of excellence. The Falcons…they actually showed a sign life this year, had a top rated defense and lost their starting QB…and ended with the same record as us….and fired a second year coach. I’m baffled and honestly have become dispassionate about the team. I love Baker, the OL, Evans and a few of the guys, but if management can’t surround them with inspiring, brilliant minds…I’m done. Bowles isn’t even a good game manager… Horrible decision to keep this guy. I’ll check back in when ownership fires Bowles next year and we have the #3 pick in the draft.

  78. Ben Says:

If Harbaugh joins the Falcons, Bowles will not stand a chance. Good Fn Luck!!!!

  79. Saskbucs Says:

    That’s a 2026 wrap folks.

Man this pisses me off. What a waste of a good roster.

Good news is, should be good for my mental health and spending time on more productive ventures.

Thanks for the content Joe and good luck to you. Take care Bucs fans.

  80. Christopher Schiefen Says:

If the two men running operations clearly don’t have discipline, why do they expect the team to?

  81. de bucs fan Says:

Gonna take some fans off the boat entirely. Im going to ruminate and growl at Blowes everytime he mismanages the game. May not watch. In an effort to avoid more heart attacks my expectations of the team will be nill until he gone. 26 season already sunk. Who is he hiring as DC?

  82. Steve Says:

What a joke honestly, we need change NOW.

  83. Larrd Says:

    Worst team in worst division.

We have a lot to look forward to

Defining INSANITY. I guess you think you’re Benjamin Buttons and aging backwards too

  85. buc4evr Says:

Cousins restructured to stay with the Falcons. He is 4-0 against the Bucs. Blank will probably sign Harbaugh. Bucs are looking at last place next year.

  86. Ben Says:

Do the glazers not see that every primetime game this team is embarrassed nationally. What young fan wants to cheer for a team that is blown up consistently vs back up qbs and mediocre teams? Like what do they friggin see in this guy other than the money the invested in his new contract? That is probably it, and once again Man U prevails

  87. Jerseybuc Says:

    Bowels nephew lake.
What’s he good at? Give us one good thing he’s good at as a HC
    3 divsion titles at 8-9. 9-8. 10-7 with coen.
Hahahah. Oh yea so good being 8-9 winning a shiiii division
    18 games under 500 as a HC.
Hahah stop you gotta be related.

  88. Upstate NY BUC Says:

Lakeland your hilarious, get ready for the Strawberry festival!! The Lakeland Falcons, joke!!!!

  89. Defense Rules Says:

This is discouraging. Bucs are my football team, and I’m not gonna abandon them just because of 1 decision that I don’t agree with. But it’ll be awfully hard to be optimistic about the coming 2026 season because I have close to zero faith in this coaching staff.

This entire football team and coaching staff needs a MAJOR MAKEOVER. Assuming Todd does stay, he needs to start the process by admitting that his ‘Inspire Change’ shirt should’ve read ‘I Don’t Like Change’. Hopefully though the Glaziers & Licht keep him on a short leash, and force him to upgrade his coaching staff (on multiple levels) AND then upgrade the talent level on this team. Ideally they’ll also force him to hire a DC who runs a 4-3 (maybe then he’ll keep his hands off it?).

Licht needs to start by focusing MUCH MORE on free agents than on draft picks; I’ll take proven performers over rookies 90% of the time. Todd’s convinced me that he does MUCH BETTER with quality veterans (like Suh, JPP, Shaq, etc) than he does with rookies. Our 2025 rookie class hasn’t shown me diddly yet, but I suspect a lot of that has to do with coaching staff development of these latest rookies.

  90. ChiBuc Says:

Glazers are holding out for Lafluer🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

  91. BucEmUp Says:

Bye Evans, bye David. Baker might play half the season getting his arsenal kicked every Sunday. Such a waste. Bucs will be last place in nfc south next season. At least now I know to start making other plans for my Sundays. Not worth the election required to run the television.

  92. BucfaninMi Says:

He’s not even a good DC anymore. That was the worst part of the team.

  93. buccintimeforchanges Says:

Now it is on Jason Licht and the Glazers

    PUKE PUKE PUKE

I’ll still watch and cheer but man…these guys are losers…sad AF

  94. Usedtocould Says:

    Barf

  95. #1bucsfan Says:

This is pure entertainment watching yall cry. I’m not gunna watch any more, go jags , boycott Bucs 🤡🤡🤡 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I don’t agree with all their decision but I will still support them cause that’s what real fans do. We don’t jump ship cause we didn’t get our way. Just goes to show what type of person most of yall are.

  96. WiscoJoe Says:

    Deflated is an understatement

  97. jug Says:

    3rd and 28…….Never Forget

  98. cmurda Says:

That deal with Arians must have gone deep. I just threw up in my mouth.

  99. Joe in Michigan Says:

They’ll be lucky to get a Byron Leftwich level OC. I consider this to be the Glazers punting on the 2026 season.

  100. Ryan Says:

Fantastic news. Welcome back coach Bowles!

  101. Red Skeleton Says:

I was hoping for door #2

  102. Joe in Michigan Says:

    Glazers punted.

  103. Miracle Says:

@Newbie . Read my comment again.
Bowles comment doesn’t mean anything based on the history of how the Glazers work.
They are a very private and deliberate group.

I’m not saying he doesn’t deserve to be replaced. It is quite likely they are talking with Harbaugh and others. They generally don’t make changes without having a plan already in place.

  104. Newbie Says:

ChiBuc – maybe you are on to something… waiting on LaFluer… or McDermott?

So if things do stay the same with regime what quality coach(es) would want to come to Bucs and work under Bowles, assuming he does make changes? Seriously?

Glazers are just prolonging the inevitable – which will be a catastrophic 2026 season under this regime.

  105. cmurda Says:

@D Rules. Absolutely 100% has to purge the rest of the staff. It would be ridiculous if that wasn’t part of the demand from the Glazers. If not, I really will set my expectations somewhere down there in the depths of hell.

  106. Mike Says:

Will not be giving a single cent of my money on merch or nothing until he’s gone.

  107. D-Rome Says:

I think this is the right decision. Some of you people are acting as if we’re a head coach away from a deep playoff run. Keep the HC and GM and if it’s another mediocre season then CLEAN HOUSE. Everyone!

  108. Mike Says:

Thank GOD I cancelled my season tickets when I did, thank God.

  109. D-Mac Says:

Not going to explode and write an idiotic, childish rant. I don’t care enough to worry about it. Still a fan, but there are a lot more important things in life.

  112. Victor Says:

like I mentioned on my last post..if there isn’t any coaching changes especially having a new DC with no strings attached for next season..then the owners bare the brunt..the first few games will decide the next season..and Bowles won’t be able to B/S his way out..

  113. Gman Says:

Haha….those season ticket renewals are en route…..get your checkbooks out!!!! Most of you actually trusted the Glazers to do the right thing. They did…by their low standards. Go work some more overtime and send the money to Joel and Ed!!!

  121. Uncle Foam Says:

  122. Gman Says:

For all of you saying you are boycotting or not spending another penny on a jersey….THE GLAZERS DON’T CARE! Get ready to pay for their new stadium!!

  123. ChattBucsFan Says:

Wow, what an absolute bummer and the fact that we haven’t heard from ownership is inexcusable. Maybe the Glazer’s do want to move the team.

  124. cmurda Says:

@JTHV. Fair enough but be sure to remember the play that lost us the 2021 NFCCG when Brady engineered a sick comeback. A blitz against Stafford. A freaking blitz against the #1 QB in the league against the blitz. Come on man. Bowles ain’t the guy. That’s really obvious from his resume.

  125. Les Says:

GLAZZERS LOVE TO BE MEDIOCRE !! DAMN SOCCER OWNERS SUCK BALLS ! I HAVE BEEN A FAN SINCE CULVERHOUSE DAYS .EHAT A SLAP IN THE FACE ! THEY WONT GET A DIME OUT OF ME ! IM OUT TILL HE IS GONE .GO JAGS AND COEN !

  126. Leopold Stotch Says:

This is a disappointing day for Bucs fans everywhere.

  127. BakerFan Says:

OK… then defense genius tell the fan base how you are going to fix this porous defense with no edge rush and an aging Vea and David is pretty much gone.

Plus how you going to fix an offense that could not garner 20pts per game on the tail of the season.

Plus a Special Teams that was the worst in the league.

    What’s the plan?

The Fans are owed somewhat of an explanation

  128. Day 1-76 Says:

I get physically ill just listening to Bowles give excuses after every loss. This ownership team is a joke, and nothing will change. 7 wins is the ceiling for next year.

  129. Just Saying Says:

    Arrow definitely not pointing up.

  130. Gipper Says:

Big mistake. Too many comfortable guys on defense. Have said many times that there are many on this Bucs defensive teams that wouldn’t start for most NFC defenses. Should be working on both talent upgrade and coaching upgrade. Try to get Jim Schwartz from Browns to be the new DC. Todd Bowles is stubborn. His schemes are bad and he is not a good evaluator of defensive talent. Need 2 ILB’s, a serious EDGE, and draft picks for AWjr who is incredibly overated.

  131. miken Says:

Jason and Bowles are now a package deal… I guess the Glazers didn’t want any part of Jason picking the next Coach. No playoffs in 2026 equals a total rebuild.

  132. AlstottNumber1 Says:

On the bright side I will once again win an a$$ ton of money betting against Todd.

It really was a windfall for me after the bye week.

Fully funded my upcoming golf trip to Phoenix and in high style.

Thank you Glazer family. 2026 will be another financial geyser for me.

Glass is half full boys! Bowles shall deliver as he always does.

  133. Blows sux Says:

Running this NFL team right back in to the ground just like Man U. Too Fn cheap to buy out his contract glad I didn’t get season tickets.
This idiot coach was a loser when he got here and will be when he leaves.
    Worst ownership in the NFL!!!!!!

  134. BucsFan81 Says:

Well there goes the 2026 season. Up in flames before it even started. They just buying there time to clean house next year when Baker contract is up. Ridiculous that the owners are ok with wasting a year when we all know what the results will be with Bowles…

  135. OrlandoBucsFan Says:

    I’m done !!!!

  136. Mike S Says:

Keeping Bowles while gutting the staff makes absolutely no sense. Only thing I can figure is 1. the Glazers are cheap and don’t want to pay two expensive coaches to go away (ManU), or 2. This is a way to soft-tank until next off-season when they can blow the whole thing up with a cheap runway for a new coach/GM/qb

  137. Stetematt Says:

Good! He’s certainly better than all the alternatives.

  138. Lightningvinny1 Says:

New OC (Mike McDanial ) New DC (Gannon) new Special teams coach and Bowles as the CEO hopefully just overseeing ,
The land of misfit coaches , all w something to prove

  139. JohnQCitizen Says:

I’ve liked the Bears since the time I had season tickets for the Bucs and we played the Bears at home. Ditka was having a bad day and fans were yelling him. After a while he turnaround and shot a bird at the fans. It was great fun and showed his spirit as a real coach. I think I’ll check out on the Bucs and follow the them. I just can’t take Bowles anymore.

  140. Dr Says:

    Boooooo

  141. Uncle Foam Says:

Read some fake news that he was fired and i got excited.

  142. JTHV Says:

Bowles is staying, accept it and start talking about how he and Jason can improve the team not continuing to spew the BS we all know isn’t going to be there in 7 months when camps starts.

The Bowles hate taking over every post’s comment box is exhausting. Are you people adults behaving like that?

    Go Bucs

  143. bucsfan951 Says:

Anything short of a playoff berth with 1 win is a failure.

At this point, I question Licht’s decision-making skills and imo, if Todd does not succeed, both he and Licht need to be shown the door.

  144. SteveK Says:

April fools? Hoping we hear what’s up regarding changes. Because middle of the pack isn’t good enough. Also, can Livht get a legit pass rusher? Can the medical team get it together to er make sure Wirfs and the crew are healthy now and not til the cusp of the season to drop the ball. Go Bucs! I expect 10-wins, a playoff win or two next year for there to be “progress”.

  145. Told You Says:

See you guys in August, I’m out. Still will watch every game, but protesting by not buying merch or going in person. First time in years. Not going to support the Glazers. Peace!

  146. Becky Says:

Keep Bowles. Keep Licht. Keep LOSING!!! Ownership does not give a sh** about the teams fans, and they don’t give a shit about winning. Sorry Baker, another organization stuck a knife in your back 🤬I will watch for you, but screw ownership and management.

  147. Cchead Says:

    F The Glazers
    F Jason Licht
    F Bruce Arians
    F Todd Bowles

  148. Bowls sucks Says:

F*king morons! What a bunch of dumbasses the Glazers are. Another f*king year of excuses and mediocrity. FML!! Way to give a sh** about your fan base! Poor choices and bad decisions = Toilet Bowles And Grizzturd

  149. Bee Says:

    Told you this would happen.

They need Bowles and Baker to deliver a top 10 pick next season. And thats what they’ll do.

  150. buccintimeforchanges Says:

    Losers on losers on losers

    This franchise is a joke

  151. BrianBucs Says:

This is a Huge kick in the gut for Bucs fans.
Apparently the Glazers do not care about the Bucs fanbase like they say they do

  152. Jp1979 Says:

Light is crazy cuz when bowles has a bad year next year he’s probably gone as well. Not smart in my opinion

  153. TiredBucsFan Says:

Im done! Im not wasting my time with this garbage.

  154. BigZ Says:

When Bowles leaves we’ll be in rebuild mode and look back and say, man we wasted some good players prime years. Hes going to leave this team in a bad place.

What the F. He should have been fired last year. Do the Glazers watch? I expect a worse record next year.

Just like I suspected. The Glazers are cheap.

No more Sunday Ticket for me.

I hope they enjoy RayJay packed with more opposing fans.

    Im pissed.

  155. Scott Says:

I would like to see Gannon in at DC and maybe keep Grizzard to hopefully improve. Since the Glazers want to be tightwads.

  156. WalkdaPlank Says:

Will 2026 be the first time the Glazers fire a HC mid-season?

  157. D-Rome Says:

    3rd and 28…….Never Forget

Go on YouTube or wherever and watch the sequence of plays that led to that successful Falcons drive. Look at Kindle Vildor loafing, not paying attention, missing tackles. Kindle Vildor missed the tackle on Kyle Pitts on that 3rd and 28 play. On the next play both he and Antoine Winfield Jr. were out of position.

Jamel Dean missed the tackle that put the Falcons in FG range.

I didn’t see Todd Bowles missing tackles on the field.

If anything, the Bucs issues this year come down to injuries and Jason Licht having a bad year as an executive. There are a few players on this team who should not be in the NFL and Vildor is one of them.

  158. Becky Says:

Keep Bowles Keep Licht. Keep LOSING!!! Ownership does not care about the fans or about winning. Sorry Baker. Another organization stuck a knife in your back. I will watch the games for you, but screw ownership and management.

  159. Tbbucs3 Says:

Now the losers of the fan base get to go follow their man crush in Jacksonville

  160. Shane247 Says:

I won’t be watching! Of course I’ve said the same thing for the past 3 yrs! I got sucked back in last year when Coen actually made this team fun to watch in spite of the subpar defense, that every year we watch expecting something to improve. What’s the definition of insanity again? Ugh! I hope this is article is not true! Why in the name of all that’s holy would the owners not look at potentially upgrading. It’s a disservice to the players and the fans!

  161. Cchead Says:

The rest of the NFC South is celebrating the fact no balls Bowles is back.

  162. Tony Says:

    @Gman

That’s the thing. THEY JUST DON’T SEEM TO CARE. Any other team would’ve done something by now. I doubt he’s gonna change anything on D. If somebody does come in he’ll probably want them to run it his way.

  163. BFFL5678 Says:

I’ll say this again: the Glazers fired Manchester United’s coach after just 14 months for “mediocrity,” yet they’ve allowed Todd Bowles to remain despite a subpar win record over the last four years. That tells you exactly where their interests truly lie. They’re content with the Buccaneers being mediocre as long as we’re “competitive” in a weak division even if that means fighting for it with an under-.500 record.

  164. Cchead Says:

D Rome. Bowles and his lets not practice and do another walk thru and his soft ass defense is the problem. Players admitted it. Wake the f up.

  165. Canabuc Says:

Okay see you guys in 2027!
    I’m out

The rest of the NFC South is celebrating the fact no balls Bowles is back.

Are you not aware that Bowles has won the NFC south 3 out of his 4 years?

  167. BucsFanSince76 Says:

Jason Licht will now draft a bunch of athletes who look impressive in shorts, 40-time, and jumping, and who are also weak and soft as football players. And then he will pass over making bold deals for stud edge rushers and settle for some reclamation projects in free agency who are on their fourth team. But, thats ok, he is a genius—not because he can build a team worth a penny — or ever has—remember, it was Tom Brady’s and Gronk’s confidence that helped put his underperforming non-playoff team over the top). But, he is truly a genius because he knows enough to text and make jokes to the local talk radio guys and other local Media so that they will all be giddy about being his friend— and their loyalty will keep them from tearing him a new one about his talentless team—like they should. I mean, if you havent heard these guys, the group in the morning and the one in the afternoon both laugh like little schoolgirls with crushes about Licht texting and joking around with them. Makes me want to puke.

    I’m out

This is not an airport, no need to announce your departure. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

  171. BigZ Says:

The only hope, is Tomlin get fired after the wildcard game. Thats it. Go Texans.

  172. BucsLifeIsSad Says:

Sadly Boweles is here for another year. The only ways I can see this team improving is hiring an actual DC, and letting said DC have actual control of the defense. Also get a new OC and backup QB. If Baker gets hurt again we need someone we can trust enough to let Mayfield get healthy. Trask would have been better than Bridgewater, and that’s not me glazing Trask lol.

While we definitely need more talent(especially defense), I do NOT believe we lacked the talent to the point our D was this bad. Same with our offense. Play action? What’s that? Seriously, there was some really bad play calling this year on offense. Get that fixed.

And grow some damn balls, and go for it on 4th and 2 when we need to. Too many times Bowles is too conservative, and it bites us in the rear end bad.

And finally, we all know this will end in a new coaching staff anyways with Bowles. He doesn’t inspired players at all. And that will always translate to the play.

  173. ERIC Says:

Great. I can’t wait to see how Jason Licht response with drift picks and free agency. Excited!

  174. SB~LV 🏈 Says:

    F YOU JASON LICHT!

I was in Licht’s corner until this – its a spit in the face to Bucs fans everywhere. They’re not committed to winning & they told us that today.

Jason, you tied yourself to a loser and I pray it costs you your job.

Another wasted year coming up with Bowles and Licht gone at the end of it.

  177. Zakk Says:

Let me save everyone some time for next year. “We gotta coach better and play better and we need to evaluate and get better for next game.” There, this is next years press conferences each week after their losses. Your welcome…

  178. budlikedthebucarros Says:

guess i can suck and be a slacker at my job and not motivate and still retain it kinda like gov jobs this is good to know l

  179. Ken G Says:

Todd ate his feelings this fall. He must be 275 pounds. He’s not gonna make it to next season at this rate.

The biggest disappointment as a Bucs fan since they gave Winston a 5th year “to give Bruce a chance to fix him.” Some things are unfixable. The Bowles defense is one of them.

  180. Lakeland Says:

It’s a good day to be a PROUD Bucs fan

I’m in for keeps, I’m not jumping ship
    I’m not a fake fan, I’m real

  181. Let em Bake Says:

Bring in the real Gus Swayze to back up Baker….Minschew.

  182. TheScourge Says:

I can clearly see Bucs fans have yet to really understand how deep this pit is going to go. Suggestions of McDaniel as OC, Gannon as DC, Flores as DC etc. etc. Even Monken! Why would a former head coach or up and coming coordinator work under a coach they arguably are more qualified than? Why would anyone of note hitch their wagon to an organization this complacent? Unbelievable.

  183. WaluigiWright Says:

Well, this’ll save me money this year lol

But I will be rooting for the Jaguars in the playoffs!
    —-

I’m with you brother. I am a 50 year guy myself and was at that same pre-season game that started it all. Against my (then) former favorite team the Dolphins. I think you have me beat on the # of season ticket holder games by a few seasons. Not sure I have ever watched a full jaguars game ever. That is about to change. How long will I be gone? Tough to say. Myself and a few buddies get together most very Sunday. But I know they feel same way as I do about this Glazer mess.

As Robert Duran said..”No mas.”with that little thingy over the “a”.

    Lol.

  189. BucFan4Life Says:

Odd that the Bucs left Todd to confirm it as he has had the wrong answer for the last 2.5 months.

I will believe it only after I hear it from team leadership.

and the players already here know it is the way it is, and they can coast, take it light, and act like zombies…

i can’t believe the glazer’s are ok with the zombie culture at one buc…but i guess they’re ok with it…sad

  192. Nicholas Carlson Says:

I’m disappointed but won’t be abandoning the team, as I bleed pewter. Bowles better hire someone who understands how to coach defense in the 2020s

  193. Shane247 Says:

The ramifications of this decision will be costly! Well done Glazers! Prepare for 50% of your fanbase to dissappear! I’m out!

  194. Confido75 Says:

Sounds like the Glazers allowed him to stay with conditions. Conditions being he make changes to his staff. He needs to be a CEO HC, not a HC/DC. Time to let it go! I don’t see this thing turning around unless they have strong coordinators on both sides of the ball and ST and he lets them coach and call plays. I guess time will tell.

  195. SRQ Bucs Fan Says:

Has this been confirmed with Team Glazer?

  196. Defense Rules Says:

D-Rome … ‘I didn’t see Todd Bowles missing tackles on the field. If anything, the Bucs issues this year come down to injuries and Jason Licht having a bad year as an executive. There are a few players on this team who should not be in the NFL and Vildor is one of them.’

Many, including myself, have said many times that our problems are a combination of shortfalls in players AND coaches. Growing up playing sports as I’m sure both of us did D-Rome, I can’t remember any ‘walk-throughs’. I can though remember day-after-day hitting each other on the team just as hard as if we were the opponents on the next game-day. Maintaining PROFICIENCY at anything requires constant practice, not walk-throughs. Not hard to tell if someone is out of position or taking bad angles tackling if you’re running a full-blown practice. How do you tell that though in a walk-through?

Good point you brought up about Jason Licht having a ‘bad year as an executive’. Far too many fans have failed to hold him ACCOUNTABLE for ‘stocking the cupboards’. Our DEPTH really sucked this year, and that’s on him. Unfortunately Bowles ended up playing a lot of those depth players for many, many snaps as the injury bug devoured our starters. Guess what … most of those depth players won’t be here this year and all those valuable game snaps will have been wasted.

  197. Mhystc Says:

I honestly hope, Klint Kubiak or John Harbaugh go to Atlanta.. and bust Bowles ass this season. So the glazers can look stupid like they always do. Pathetic excuse for owners, better not hear them ever say “ we care about winning “ no they don’t.

  198. Brian in FL Says:

Regardless of how anyone feels, it is what it is. Go Bucs. Here’s hoping we do what we need to do to right the ship. To anyone that is upset, I get it. To anyone hoping for failure so that you can “be right”, you’re not a Bucs fan.

  199. bucfanforever Says:

Firing now without a slam-dunk successor risks regression, which owners hate more than stagnation. Another season like this and its negligence. I just wanted DOOR NUMBER 2 because the pass defense is absolutely garbage and is year after year after year.

  200. miken Says:

I really Sucks to watch a talented team going down the tubes and the season end on 2025 AND then 4 days later see the 2026 season is over.

  201. Shane247 Says:

Defense rules- You must not be watching the same team most of us are every week! This isn’t a “this” season problem! Did you forget Tom Brady’s last year 8-9, with the Greatest QB of all time? Have you not watched the blowouts at home? How about getting are a$$es handed to us by rookies, 2nd & 3rd string QB’s? You sir, should sit down and rewatch the games before you start blaming players.

  202. BucfaninMi Says:

You won’t have to hope. It’ll happen

  203. Jack Sparrow Says:

    WTF ! 🤬

  204. WaluigiWright Says:

It’s not the end of the world, but I am wondering why they expect us to care and be dedicated fans when the bosses clearly aren’t dedicated themselves. Documentary looking more and more like a troll series by the day

  205. BigBoiBuc Says:

Fan base full of idiots! Threatening Billionaires that “I won’t go to a game”. Wow, they won’t get your nosebleed ticket purchase and your1 beer per Sunday. lol. This franchise is a mere decimal point place on their balance sheet. So… leave! Who gives a sh@t? My guess is you won’t, just flapping those gums and crying like middle school girls.

  206. MJ Says:

    too expensive after the extension
and too much change, fix whats broke

  207. Mike Johnson Says:

YOU GOTTA WANNA BE GREAT. The Glazers have shown all of us they just want their profits. I just hurt for the Fans. Bowles is a 500 coach or less. More mediocrity next year.

  208. Pelsbuc61 Says:

    Back to the dark ages!

  209. Jack Sparrow Says:

No season tickets for me ! What a waste of money. This team is screwed.

  210. BUC N RIGHT Says:

Bowles is BACK!! Any so called BUCS fan wishing for failure, rooting against Tampa Bay is NOT a REAL BUCS FAN. Y’all are hilarious, must have jumped on board in 2020. Either you are with the BUCS or against the BUCS. Happy for Todd and when success happens don’t come running back. Bowles Coach of the Year in 2026. P.S. Players gotta play

  211. Ljsolutions Says:

I cannot do another year of this.

  212. DaRealist727 Says:

I’M OFFICIALLY GOING TO SUSPEND MYSELF FROM BEING A BUCS FAN FOR THE NEXT YEAR….BOWLES HAS GOT TO GO!

  213. Confido75 Says:

Agree on JL not having a good year. Depth was weak and they were not prepared for the rash of injuries. Conditioning and Strength also needs to be addressed. Also, if players are not doing what is required, get rid of them, even if they are talented. Nick Saban said, ‘God-given talent will only get you to good at best.” Accountability goes both ways, its not just on JL and TB. That’s why football is called a team sport.

  214. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

There must be something we don’t know.

  215. Bee Says:

So basically the same roster with a few new names and a few new position coaches? Awesome

  216. Rob Says:

Even the Jets owner was smart enough to can Bowels after 4 years. Google the news articles as to why. Hint, they’re the same as what’s happening here: crappy D that basically gave up; lack of player motivation who were constantly out of position; grumbling under their breath in the locker room. Basically, several players just gave up.
Bowels REFUSES to modify his D to suit his players strengths. He’s too damn stubborn.
Unlike the Jets, we’re stuck with him for FIVE years. It’s unbelievable that John Harbaugh was fired for having a BETTER record this year than Bowels. And he was without his HOF qb for a few games! And, he plays in a tougher divisions with 2 opposing teams who also have HOF QB’s. Total insanity!
Count me out. I won’t punish myself by constantly asking ‘what could have been’.

  217. heyjude Says:

Thinking, because so many coaches have been fired it would be a big mess trying to get the right person to come in for next season. Why would we want any of the majority of coaches that got fired? They got fired for reasons too. If they get a DC, they could be the person that takes the HC job in the next year. I like Flores but he is definitely going to be a head coach somewhere next season as well as many others. A lot can happen between now and next year.

  218. DBS Says:

Another season waiting and hoping another team screws up to let us back in to the playoffs.
Then going one and done again.

  219. Deeboooo Says:

Reports coming out are saying Harbaugh left/got fired because he wouldn’t let go of his coaching staff (AKA Monken – the guy a lot of you wanted to bring here)

  220. Curse of Gruden Says:

The Raise the Flags documentary is a sham. The owners portrayed in that series wouldn’t be following this mediocre path.

  226. Coconut Doughnut Says:

i haven’t seen this many comments since the GameDay open thread 😂

  227. Old Sombrero Says:

The depth of this is more than meets the eye apparently. I’ve been a Bowles supporter until this season. I’m shocked he’s going to survive this. He shouldn’t. I’ll be the first to support him again if he can prove this year was an anomaly but his history suggests he’s not capable of anything better than 500 football.

  231. Bobby Says:

JTS, Logan Hall, Braswell, Busts! Name a pass rusher that Bowles has been apart of drafting and turned into a good pass rusher?? I’ll wait. Kancey can’t stay healthy so he doesn’t count yet? Bowles believes in walk thru practices instead or real actual practices. Horrible decision by the Bucs leadership to keep Bowles and pass up on a chance at going after a John Harbaugh. Bowles even said in his final presser, he doesn’t think a lack of talent is an issue on this defense. Glazers missed on Cohen and now missed on Harbaugh, There won’t be someone like that next year. watch Harbaugh lead his next team deep into playoffs while Bucs are getting blown out in the Wildcard round or missing the playoffs again this upcoming season. Horrible decision by the Glazers!

  232. Tampa Tom Says:

Well good bye and thanks for the memories. I bet my home Bowels won’t win a Super bowl. ATL and Aints going to own Tampa next year. No fans in seats by end of season. Bowels can’t beat a good team . His record proves it . How dumb is this franchise. I could literally win 6 games with this roster. I’ve never coached in my life . BOYCOTT BUCS

  244. FlorIdahoBucs Says:

Ownership can choose to listen to fans or not. But to see this pathetic display be rewarded after we’ve seen better couches ousted is just a slap in the face to football in general. I’ve supported I’ve cheered for 35 years. But I will not go through this again. This team ripped that away starting from the HEAD COACH. That’s the change needed. It needs it now until then I’m checking out like UNO

  245. Hunter's Crack Pipe Says:

  246. Kevin Dodel Says:

  247. Texasbucsfan Says:

I am done with football and especially the Bucs. Football & Glazer’s don’t care about fans. All NFL and Bucs care about the money tree. I started watching football since 1955 when there were only 10 teams. Football has disintegrated into a money making machine without caring about fans. MONEY! MONEY!MONEY!

  248. BucsFanSince76 Says:

I agree that Jason Licht should be held accountable, but, it is for alot more than one bad year. Name one of the 18 defensive players that he has drafted in the last five years who has contributed a great deal to this team? Ya Ya is probably the best of the bunch and he is just ok. Kancey just has hardly been on the field the rest are worthless. The new guys in 2025 look ok at best, but, do not look like guys who can turn the franchise around. And that is just the defensive drafts—the offensive drafts in the past 5 years are barely any better. Can journalists be journalists and admit that Licht is really bad at drafting players and better go all in in free agency this year?

2021- Tryon Shoylinka- 1st, KJ Britt- 5th, Chris Wilcox- 7th, Grant Stuard- 7th
    2022- Logan Hall-2nd (# 33), Zyon McCollum 5th, Andre Anthony- 7th
2023- Calijah Kancey- 1st, Ya Ya Diabi, 3rd, SirVocea Dennis- 3rd, Josh Hayes- 6th, Jose Ramirez- 6th
    2024- Chris Braswell- 2nd, Tykee Smith- 3rd
2025- Benjamin Morrison- 2nd, Jacob Parish- 3rd, David Walker, 4th, Elijah Roberts- 5th

    I’m done !!!! Goodbye!!!

  250. Christos Says:

The ownership and Licht (he cannot be excused from this) are as detached from the fanbase and what we are seeing the last few years as coach Bowles is about his defense.
Its like the Glazers and Licht are sitting back 10 yds off in coverage themselves.

For mental health reasons I will not be emotionally invested this season in our Bucs. I will watch the games like I m watching the preseason. Because from the monet I will start expecting something we will start seeing the same things over and over again like we have the last years.

    Go Bucs, I guess

  251. BrianBucs Says:

Very sad day in Tampa Bay.
    Welcome to mediocrity

  252. Mhystc Says:

At least we’ll have a top 5 pick next year. Jeremiah Smith ? Evans Replacement.

  253. Cobraboy Says:

I just lost half my interest in the team.

Good luck with ticket sales, Glazers.

  254. Buc king Says:

Just canceled my season ticket that’s 5 seats they will need to replace I make my voice known in their wallet .. I refuse to waste my money watching that product on the field I think the family would prefer a vacation this football season next year

  255. Arn Platz Says:

I live in Orlando, Jacksonville is a two hour drive from the house. I can watch our beloved Coach Cohen and some quality football and a team that plays for its coach.. Until Bowles is gone and Tampa returns to Bucs football I am done. Glazers are the worst.

  256. Cobraboy Says:

This is the opposite feeling I got when Brady signed.

  257. Chuckys Bucs Says:

You all will still watch, you will still attend games, and you will jump back on the bandwagon when it’s going well.

Bowles and Mayfiled will have a prove it year and it’s gonna be great to watch.

Can’t wait to see all the fake fans back next year.

  258. vsluc Says:

Someone has to be held accountable right? My question now is who

  259. BucsFanSince76 Says:

So, next year the Bucs will adjust—-and passes will be completed to wide-open receivers on the edges rather than across the middle of the field.

  263. D-Rok Says:

    Me pissed. Me out. Deuces.

My dog Daisy could coach this team better – heck, at least she’d bite some kneecaps.

  264. Cchead Says:

Tbbucs. Yes I am aware. 3 division championships were not won with Bowles defense. The offense saved his ass. While the rest of the NFC South is getting better. Are the Bucs getting better? Or is it the same old chicken spit coaching we’ve been watching for 3 years? Are you ok with running the clock out with 3 timeouts at the end of a half? I’m not. Are you okay with blowing a 14 point lead in the 4th quarter against Atlanta? I was at that game. I’m not and by judging the reaction to the fans in the stadium. They weren’t either. I can go on and on about the incompetence of this coach and his assistants. Im not okay with it. But go ahead and enjoy it.

  265. Wouldn’t pay a single Buc to see this squad Says:

I love the losers on this site who accept losing and then tell people they aren’t real fans when they don’t accept a complete crap product. Must be eating government cheese and accepting welfare. It’s still food. What a loser mentality. Idiots.

  266. SB~LV 🏈 Says:

    Glazers don’t care!
The same number of seats will be used, visiting teams will be well represented in the stadium and there money is just as green as Buc fans.
    Sell the F’n team!
Oh they don’t care about that either, they hear that from the ManU fans too …. Transatlantic cruelty!
Oh if the Outback boys had only had the winning bid when Steve Story opened the envelopes .

  269. Wouldn’t pay a single Buc to see this squad Says:

Glazers probably a rewarding mediocrity forever. Maybe we will overpay some veterans in the off-season and become the Washington Redskins from a few years ago? We’re already halfway there with our aged roster that doesn’t want to compete or show up.

  270. AnonymousBucsFan76 Says:

Well, there goes your ticket sales…

    The definition of insanity is….

  271. Mayhem41 Says:

This is a joke. I’m out. Thanks Glazers. Won’t be attending a single game next year.

  272. Outrigger Says:

The Glazers have systematically destroyed Manchester United, a once great Premier League franchise. Now they are doing it to the Bucs. Malcolm Glazer wanted to win. His kids are greedy and cheap.

  273. heyjude Says:

  283. Mhystc Says:

Reporter Benjamin Allbright is saying glazers did contact Harbaugh, but apparently would have had to have fired Jason Licht and they didn’t want to. Which is why they stuck with Bowles. Idk if it’s true, but yeah.

  284. eoschwartz Says:

I’m out on the Bucs. I’d rather watch the Jags in Orlando than this unmotivated team showing no guts. Glazers have made a very bad decision unless they bring in coordinators and institute an offense they scores points and a defense that covers receivers and tight ends. Hitting quarterbacks once and awhile would help too. Will find other things to do next fall.

  285. Will Says:

  286. Bucs3 Says:

  288. Lefty R Says:

Before we (the Buccaneer Fans) let you Todd Bowles, your Buccaneer Head Coach, the Glazers (entire family) must march across Raymond James Stadium field, stop at the 50 yard present themselves before this very fan-base, put their head between their legs, and kiss their own arse.

    This is Outrageous!!

  289. KnuteR Says:

Bucs is doom since Bowlo is back next season. Bucs will win 4 games and will get high draft picks.

  290. buccintimeforchanges Says:

“Reporter Benjamin Allbright is saying glazers did contact Harbaugh, but apparently would have had to have fired Jason Licht and they didn’t want to. Which is why they stuck with Bowles. Idk if it’s true, but yeah.”

    That’s a pattern of LOSER

I hate this franchise. The glazers are POS slum lord losers

  291. Ray Bucbolt Says:

Stability = success in the long term. Todd is the right guy. Successful franchises don’t change coaches all the time. 1st time missed the Playoffs since 2019. time to relax and get ready for the Draft. GO BUCS

  297. Joeybagodonuts Says:

If true, this is pathetic. The team is soft. No question about it and the reason is Bowles

  298. unbelievable Says:

    Told ya.

The Glazers prefer to double down on their mistakes, before trying to actually fix them.

  299. Nick2 Says:

The Glasers will regret this make us all suffer for another year of mediocrity.

  300. Burl Morgan Says:

Atlanta will probably hire Harbaugh & the BUCS will forever sink into mediocrity & maybe cellar dweller territory. It’s unthinkable that Bowels is given another chance. It’s disheartening to say the least because BUC FANS deserve better 🤬

  301. Chuckys Bucs Says:

    Hahahaha
You people are hilarious. You’ll be back on here next year commenting in every game thread. When we begin winning you’ll flip like a light switch. TBDS!

  302. BucaneroJim Says:

Dang!… pretty bad when going to church with the wife, doing Sunday yard work and grilling out looks better than Bucs, Hooters and beer in 2026. Jesus!!!

  303. Davenport Says:

Guys, stop throwing out quality names as potential coordinators.

No one with proven ability will come to Tampa for what will probably be a one year job.

We’ll wind up with young guys who are trying to make a name for themselves or older retreats trying just to hang on.

Bowles has wasted the remaining prime years of Evans, Vea, Wirfs, David, etc. and was responsible for Godwin being chronically injured.

No free agents are coming and anyone who can leave this team will. Players can clearly see that the ship is sinking.

My only hope in all this is that the Glazers wanted Bowles to announce his return as a way to gauge the reaction from fans.

Its no too late for them to fire this career loser.

  304. Bucco Steve Says:

Is it possible Bowles is lying?

  305. Wouldn’t pay a single Buc to see this squad Says:

Glad Brady made the white trash city relevant for a few years. Get ready for the basement. Bologna franchise. Like welfare. Like fugazi.

  306. Swash Says:

    I’m out.

  307. Cometowin2 Says:

I am just disgusted by this. I have been a rabid fan since the first win in 1977. I can’t even kid myself that I won’t watch the games but this is unbelievable and seems extraordinarily stupid to keep one of the worst defensive coaches against the pass that I’ve ever seen in a league that favors the pass. His coaching and the players uninspiring play over recent weeks has even stopped me from finishing the Raise Your Flags documentary. 95% of the fanbase want Bowles gone. He’s basically left with family, friends and idiots that still support him. With the schedule we have for next year I can’t see us winning more than five games and then we’ll finally be done with these clowns but then who knows, they just may bring him after five and 12. I just didn’t want to spend the last few years of my life rooting for a loser.

  308. Becky Says:

This really sucks for us fans that wanted Todd and Jason Licht to move on, but the person I feel the worst for is Baker Mayfield. He got another knife in the back from the ownership of the team he has played his damn heart out for, and they paid him back by treating him like he is not worth improving the team for. Disgusting🤬

  309. Oxycondomns Says:

this season is basically the same as bowles first season with brady. where is the improvement? each year bucs back into the playoffs they finally dont get lucky and back in to playoffs so they wait till now to give bowles a chance to improve on the same exact results and level of play for the past 4 years

  310. QB6 Says:

I am originally from Chicago and grew up as a Bears fan until I moved down to Florida in 1999…for me the worm turned for me when the Bears retained Dave Wannstedt after a similer situation.(bad record and retained) I knew then that ownership was clearly NOT serious about winning and I checked out and never looked back,

My new team choices were either the Bucs or the Dolphins and when the Dolphins hired Wannstedt that made the choice easy for the Bucs.

I saw an ownership group that actually wanted to win in Tampa Bay epescially when they traded for Gruden.

This retaining of each Bowles is exactly like that situation with Wannstedt…this presents itself as strickly a financial decsion in that he was recently extended.

Sorry, mentally, I cannot get behind a team that the ownership is NOT “all chips in” in on winning a Super Bowl….this year was painful enough the second half of the season….it was so PAINFUL to endure and at this level, it always comes down to coaching.

Sorry Glazers but a BLATENT committment to medicority has CONSEQUENCES as you are about to find out.

  311. exBrowns02 Says:

We won’t be winning much and the game-threads will look the same — filled with frustration and anxiety.

Retaining Bowles is either, A) A rebuild strategy: expensive assets either retire or trade, opening up a rebuild window after the 2026-27 season, or, B) Another incredible mistake due to not paying attention, either to game-day performance(s) or fan disenchantment.

Either way — another year of disappointment as the team is now in a downward spiral.

I’m not local to the area (northerner), so I’m not going to affect ticket sales.

But what I’ve been paying annually for Game-Day so that I don’t miss a minute — that’s history (going back to Red Zone for coverage — “the Bucs are up by 7, the Bucs are tied, the Bucs are up by 3, the Bucs are down by 4, the Bucs are down by 11, the Bucks are down by 14….. ad nauseum). I’m simply not going to pay-up to get a stomach ache watching Bowles and Grizzard slowly lose each game with their weak coaching — waiting for Baker to perform some sort of miracle to save them in the final minutes.

The NFL distributes revenue on every revenue source. I, or anyone else, might think so, but media-derived revenue lost could way-exceed revenue lost on stadium ticket/concession income.

I’m definitely going to remain a Bucs fan, but my enthusiasm for their season will not be there. Sorry — with the status quo, that’s akin to waiting to win a lottery — unrealistic and a waste of time and money.

  312. NaplesBucsFan Says:

    Ugh…nothing else to say

  313. Oxycondomns Says:

this is actually the perfect chance for an offensive coordinator to become a head coach if bowles defense is horrid again. i disagree with the take an offensive coordinator wouldnt want to come here

  324. Greg Says:

    All about $$$$$$$$$$$$

Malcolm is rolling in his grave!

  325. buc4evr Says:

It’s not just Bowles, Licht isn’t any better. The guy has made some horrible decisions with defensive personnel. Then there is The OC. What a total joke for an NFL team to pick an OC with not one day of calling plays , even for a pee wee football team.

This team needs an OC, a DC, in addition to new position coaches, and some Premier defensive FAs in order to even have a chance to compete. Bowles needs to be a hands off walk around coach.

  326. Weebs10 Says:

We must be planning on tanking

  327. Jerry Says:

He better figure out a new defensive scheme because the league has him figured out.

  328. FlumundaCheese Says:

Poorly run franchise that doesn’t care about winning.

  329. HC Grover Says:

Our lousey players are out spending their Bags!

  330. SteveK Says:

Licht: acquire proven pass rushers and quit hoarding mediocre draft picks.

Bowles: remove the softserve zone defense and get a DC

Grizzard: idk buddy, you might be the fall guy.

Baker: don’t get hurt and play through it at a substandard level.

    Go Bucs!

Need to see a Licht make a solid move for the pass rush that isn’t a draft pick before I will feel a slight sense of relief with a dash of hope.

IMHO, licht and glazers running it back with Bowles in 2026 toes Bowles and Licht’s fates together.

  331. Bucmeup Says:

Yes, he won 3 straight division titles. Yes, this franchise is very unserious. BOTH CAN BE TRUE

  332. adam from ny Says:

i guess the owners are ok with a few years of down cycling after the brady years, and treading water for a few years with baker and bowles…

i guess they’re ready to bottom out for a few years…

very sad to destroy the culture this way

  333. exBrowns02 Says:

I’m not sure that I’ve ever felt this down about a team I’m devoted to.

Spent 54 years as a Browns fan, but never had the kind of expectations that I’ve had with Tampa Bay. Great team, great players — but doomed to mediocracy by coaching!

And the Glazers don’t see this? Incredible!!!

  337. Pa Privateer Says:

I will still visit this site for information or rumors about the Bucs, but I am not wasting money on games or subscriptions. It is much easier and fun to watch the bills, steelers and even the browns since they are locally broadcast.

I am feeling so depressed about the retention of Bowels.

  338. HC Grover Says:

UK Buc hey they may move to UK. You can have them. We dont want them. We want a new team.

  343. NDog is an Idiot Says:

Not that it matters to The Glazers, but there is no way I’m going to any games this upcoming Season and no Merchandise purchases either. They are too Cheap to confirm their mistake with keeping Blows

  344. Power Of Pewter Says:

Division rivals have caught up to the Bucs. While they improve, Glazers signal their contentment with a mediocre status-quo. I can’t imagine any Bucs fan being happy, and Glazers will likely take it on the chin in revenue.

  345. Drunk Bucs Fan Says:

Hey children, this isn’t an airport. No need to announce your departure.

  346. View from 132 Says:

  347. Lakeland Says:

Jenna Laine wrote an article for ESPN. Com

She said the players want Coach Bowles back
Graham Barton and Jalen McMillan had nothing but praise for him
She also said that the Glazers want Bowles to coach the Bucs
And it’s interesting that she mentioned the meeting was held after Harbaugh firing

If the Glazers are happy with Bowles, so l am
And I’m sure the Glazers don’t care about the opinion of a few fake news

As Todd Bowles said …. The Real Fans…..

  348. Obvious Says:

We are not the only people that know that in January of ‘27, we will be sitting here talking about the same things we are today:

    Soft zone defense
    Lack of pass rush
    No killer instinct
    Lack off aggression on defense
    Blown coverages
Inconsistent decision making regarding when to go for it and not
Lack of an overall feeling for the game flow

It will net us somewhere between 4-8 wins. I’m really hoping that no matter 4, 8 or in between it means that he’s done in time for ‘27…no ifs or buts, and that this is a soft-tank decision. At least then it’ll be a clean slate for the new coach with a great looking ‘27 draft class coming

  349. ElioT Says:

Wish I worked for the Bucs. I could stink at my job with no fear of being fired.

  358. HC Grover Says:

Hey Lakeland you ready for Leftwich at OC

  359. exBrowns02 Says:

To Lakeland Says: Todd hasn’t gotten it done. We’ve seen it from week to week. Have you been watching? What are Bowles redeeming qualities? The players “like” him?

Naturally, the players are only going to go public with their support of their coach. To do otherwise might sacrifice their player value going forward.

    Do you not understand this?

  360. Lakeland Says:

I like Josh Grizzard as our Offensive Coordinator

The problems was with the injuries on the OLine
The injuries with Godwin, McMillan, Evans, Mayfield, Irving
The offensive turnovers in clutch moments
The lack of a quality Backup QB

I think Josh did a good job, under the circumstances

  361. MadMax Says:

Lol, pathetic! I def wont waste time on this team until he’s gone….3 win season coming right up!!!!

  362. HC Grover Says:

Ther has to be ulterior motives here with the Glazer Bums.

But…I don’t have the option to stop being a fan…so…I need to start looking for positives.

  365. Mike Says:

    WOW

  366. Again Says:

Why is Grizzard still apart of this team?
Why is he not fired yet?

  367. SB~LV 🏈 Says:

Baker should insist on a trade!

  368. Lessismore Says:

The rest of the NFC South just ordered a round for the house.

It’s not unexpected – it’s the cheapest option.
It’s what Culverhouse would have done.
Losing 8 of 9 obviously had no impact on the ownership group.

  369. exBrowns02 Says:

Lakeland: “I like Josh Grizzard as our Offensive Coordinator”.

That explains you completely — obviously not watching the games play-by-play.

Grizzard was totally out of his league this past season. All of our opponents had him figured out after the first quarter of every game.

    Wake up Brother (or Sister)!

  370. Joe Havian Says:

Now it will be interesting to see how many of the key players will want to be traded. Could lose several from apathy over this situation.

  371. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    HC Grover Says:

“There has to be ulterior motives here with the Glazer(s)…”

I find myself thinking the same thing. There has to be something we’re not seeing, because they’ve fired coaches for less.

  372. Again Says:

I have no interest in watching this team

  373. Mike Says:

    Lakeland enough with the excuses

  374. Again Says:

    5 wins next year

  375. Aaron Says:

    what’s the definition of insanity

  376. Lakeland Says:

The OLine was a disaster before the season even started
First Wirfs, then Goedeke, later Ben and Cody
Even the backups missed time with injuries

Missing most of the season without our top 3 WRs
Our RB1 missing time and never regaining his old form
Our top Cornerbacks missing time, an aging Linebacker core
There were too many obstacles in our way

    We’ll be back

  377. Hank Says:

WTF?? This tells me that Harbuagh turned them down, OR they’re stuck with Bowles’ overpriced contract extension, and don’t want to pay both. Evan Closkey on CH10 says he’s can confirm the report. He says there will be changes at OC, special teams and defensive coaches. HOPEFULLY the Glazers make him give up defensive playcalling. I wish they would just scrap his defensive scheme completely! I’ve seen guys on the edge dropping back into pass coverage way too many times, and I’m sick of it!
I remember being p!ssed when they fired coach Dungy. Now I’m p!ssed they’re keeping Bowles!

  378. Mhystc Says:

Lakeland.. we got most of those people back and got worse. Stop the excuses every team has injuries.

  379. Jackson Says:

Wouldn’t it be so like the Glazer blindside to allow Bowles to state publicly he’s coming back, only to have them fire him a couple days later?

  380. Rick Says:

After 50 years I’m done. Won’t spend money on Sunday NFL ticket. It is damn expensive to watch Stupid

  381. firethecannons Says:

Well in that case, I will be focusing on a diffferent team this season and next. Just cannot be emotionally invested in the Bucs with ownership that refuses to move on from this mediocre coach. Bowles has many years as head coach and has a losing record to show for it. I have no confidence in this coach to turn the ship around.

  382. jw94buc Says:

Wow…. I refuse to give another cent to the loafing owners… I’m happy I know now. I’m not wasting my valuable precious time and energy on owners that ignore the fans constantly. They give zero crap about the fans. The glazers couldn’t hit water, if they fell out of a god damn canoe… excuse my French Joes!!! I’m passionate and I’m absolutely baffled. This must mean Manchester United is more important at the moment. Idk….

  383. MadMax Says:

They want high draft picks next year is all i can figure…..just might get the #1 overall….how exciting!!!! YAY!

  384. Mhystc Says:

    Hank

Harbuagh didn’t want to be paired with Jason Licht.

  385. Brooks Says:

5-12 get to sell my tickets to opponents can’t wait! No surprise

  386. firethecannons Says:

Plenty of time for Glazers to confirm this yet they have not. That says something.

  387. Stan says Says:

Can’t say I am suprised about the decision. Read what i am going to write here. This is not coming from my opinion, not even smart enough to think about this way. Try to remember what Our old buddy (Rod Munch) has said over and over in many of his post. He has not post in this particular thread yet. Most of this he said is from memory so if i get some of it wrong sorry Rod. To It makes no sense to get rid of him this year. No Coach wants to come in here and take over a team thats not going to have a top 5 pick to get a quarterback. I am the biggest Baker Mayfield fan. Rob Munch is not we all know this about him. I agree with him the Baker did a big backside this year. He was fair about his assessment of Baker. Wondering if he was hurt or just back to the old Baker. I am in total agreement with Rod Munch on this one. Next year you will have the opportunity to get ride of big money players and cap space. So unfortunately we get to deal with Todd Bowles.

  388. Marcus Says:

If he’s staying, he CAN’T call the defense anymore! We need a new special teams coordinator AND a new offensive coordinator! They should go for either LA’s or Seattle’s. If Todd gets fired next season, and either of those guys make the offense look incredible, then dump Todd and promote them.
It sucks, I know, but these are the cards we have been dealt. Might as well try to find the bright spot in it.

  389. Lakeland Says:

Our players missed a total of 238 games this season

We did get some starters back, but not at 100%

    We didn’t have a 1,000 yd WR
    We didn’t have a 1,000 yd Rusher
We didn’t have a 10 sack pass Rusher, not even a 8 sack guy
We didn’t have a 4,000 yd passer, not even close
We didn’t have a 4 Int cover guy

    Guys was getting it done
And injuries played a big part in it

  390. BigBucFanJoe Says:

I agree with firethecannons. Stay tuned and keep hope alive.

  391. Lakeland Says:

    “”””Guys wasn’t getting it done””””

  392. buccintimeforchanges Says:

The owners just crapped in our faces.

You do have a choice…saying you will be a fan no matter what is UN-American and anti-free market

It is communist of the Glazers to force their version of the Bucs on you. One choice. It’s absolutely unacceptable.

    BOYCOTT THE BUCS!!!!

  393. HC Grover Says:

lLkeland shill strikes again. Good narrative. You are ready for the Super Bowl Run propaganda soon to surface.
Worlds best draft comes soon….Same old BS clown show they throw out every year.

  394. QB6 Says:

Sorry Glazers but a BLATENT committment to medicority has CONSEQUENCES as you are about to find out.

  395. HC Grover Says:

Ready for the Buc Game travel package for the opponent fans. Great seats and a win for your team plus a trip to Florida. The Bucs are now Bowzo Cannon Fodder.

  396. Bucs Reality Check Says:

    *** BREAKING NEWS ***

Todd Bowles to sign 25-Year Extension.

  397. HC Grover Says:

Bucintime hey Lakeland is lapping it up.

  398. NotAlichtFan Says:

    Here’s an idea :
    1) Don’t resign any of our FAs
    2) Keep the coaching staff exactly as is
    3) trade all 2026 draft picks for 2027 picks
    4) do not sign any new FAs
    5) trade all players with any trade value
    6) fill all 2026 roster holes with UDFAs
    7) raid other teams practice squads if necessary
    8) try to beat team record 14 losses with 17 losses
    9) clean house in 2027

  399. SoCalBucsFan79 Says:

DR you are aware that the current CBA only allows for 14 actual full-contact, padded practice days during the regular season, with 11 max in the first 11 weeks and 3 more during the remaining 6. This was agreed upon by both the players and management/ownership. It’s not Bowles or anyone else in the organization going soft on practices, it’s anything beyond the 14 allowed days would violate the CBA with violations reported to NFLPA. I know you one of those data-driven posters, so I am surprised you wouldn’t have done your due diligence on researching this. Unless you have documented evidence that the Bucs held way fewer than 14 full-contact practices, then I don’t know how this argument makes any sense if all the practice rules dictated by the CBA apply to the other 31 teams?

  400. RGA Says:

A fan since 1976, over 30 year season ticket holder.
Todd Bowles may very well be a great human being. Bowles has squandered plenty of talent to work with. He’s the definition of an average coach, win some, lose some. I expect nothing to change next season with Bowles at the helm, another mediocre season at best, and with the opponents presented I would wager money on a losing season with Bowles at the helm.

  401. WillieG Says:

The Super Bowl train is pulling away from the station. The ticket window is closed.

I think Bowles will have an average season at best. Maybe a playoff appearance and loss in the first round at home. He will be replaced, but the next coach won’t have Mike Evans and others.

  402. HC Grover Says:

They could go 0-17 for a new record.

  403. PB Says:

Done. Good luck selling my seats Glazers. Freaking absolute idiots.

  404. HC Grover Says:

Even radio is done with Gene gone….I guess I will just follow JBF and not listen or see the disaster.

At least when they suck or their mediocre getting free tickets was never a problem so yes, I’ll probably support them more by going to the games for free, but I won’t spend my money on them

I’m a pissed off buccaneer fan and I can load them all I want talk about them all I want and you can’t do $h*t about it

  410. purplebeard Says:

  413. adam from ny Says:

they could be trying to be the worst team in the league next year for some odd reason the fans aren’t grasping…

maybe they think bottoming out is a good thing…then the climb up from the bottom is fun…

maybe the glazers think losing could be fun…….lol

  414. BelleGladeBuc Says:

Just bought tickets, merch, hotel and parking for Welcome to Rockville. Going to use the money I spend on 4 games of Buc’s tickets, food/beverages, merchandise and parking for my family of 4 to see Guns and Roses and Foo Fighters headline Thursday and Friday’s lineup. Also get to see Staind, Godsmack, Five Finger Death Punch, and Alice Cooper.

Thank you Glazer’s for helping me make that decision. Todd Bowles is a mediocre coach who will never win a Super Bowl.

The Glazers can choose to support Todd Bowles and pay him, just as I can refuse to support and pay thousands of dollars of my hard earned money on a mediocre to sub par product.

I’m not the only one who will not be going to games this next season.

I will watch them and be on here to be the Muppets Statler and Waldorf saying I told you so, but not one more dime of my hard earned money will go towards supporting the Glazer’s decision.

  415. BucU Says:

Ef the Glazers. Ef Todd Bowles. Ef the entire Buccaneers organization. LOSERS.

  416. Cometowin2 Says:

Bet LVD and Mike are gone. Mike at least still has playing time left. Probably will go to KC or Houston. Toad Bowels wasted the back end of their careers with his inept coaching.

Dude you gained like 50 pounds this year alone. Have some respect. You’re loafing so some players are loafing.

  417. MadMax Says:

@Warren, no, we’re just not boot lickers like you and Lakeland who encourage and support less than mediocre…..As a matther of fact, with both of you and the few other boot lickers all worried about what we think, you’re actually going to help support this upcoming losing season….so RIGHT ON BROS!!!

  418. adam from ny Says:

I guess in a results driven league, results don’t matter to the Glazers.

But this is great for JoeBucsFan and other outlets that cover the Bucs.

It will be constant chaos all year long during 2026.

And this time next year we’ll be having the same conversation.

Breaking News: The Bucs have just been eliminated from the Postseason in 2026-2027.

  422. Lakeland Says:

    These are not Bucs fans,

  423. LakelandSteve Says:

I guarantee you Bowles Daddy Bruce Arians went in and talked to the Glazers and may have convinced them to give Bowles one more year. Arians is a great coach and he is looking after the guys in his coaching tree. I’m sure he sold them on supposedly all the injuries derailed the team. In actuality if we had even a middle of the road defense we could have won 3 or 4 more games. What a kick in the nuts to have the ownership bury their head in the sand.

  424. adam from ny Says:

    we’ve had motto’s like:

  427. FortMyersDave Says:

If people think that not going to games, like a boycott will help, well that is a mind set from back in the blackout days when JBF used to run a bus to Lee Roy Selmon’s in Fort Myers to watch blacked out Buc games. The Glazers know that they will have 2 sell outs with Pittsburgh and Green Bay coming to town and if Minnesota is any good, that will have a lot of people in purple in the seats. Plus, a lot of people who complain about opposing fans in the stands probably sold their tickets for a profit to Philly, Niner or New England fan last year. Also, the Bucs have 9 home games which means it is a good bet that one of those games will be in Germany as the Glazers love to give up a home game for a sell out across the pond. I think retaining Bowles is a mistake, but the Glazers are still going to make coin, even if Todd’s ineptitude craters the team and we go back to the days of Perkins and Leeman Bennet where a bad season was 2-14 and the norm was 5-11 or 6-10 with a couple of wins over bad Detroit and Green Bay teams being the highlight of the season. Under Bowlesin 2026, 6 wins will be a reach. Tough day to be a Buc fan if the fishwrap report is true.

I think the Bucs are going to really start suffering financially if they keep Bowles. Most fans know the team needs to move in a new direction and start fresh.

Many fans will refuse to spend money on the team until Bowles is gone.

The Glazers are going to find out what a huge mistake it is to keep Bowles if they do.

  442. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

    Yup, sawft.

Boo hoo, you’ll never be able to enjoy Buccaneer football again because the billionaires did what billionaires do, whatever tf they want.

I’m more worried about what gets done to fix this damn roster and propel this team forward, if you’re disdain for the HC is that high that you think just having him back means we’ll lose than you’re watching the game of football for all the wrong reason my guy.

When you cry over dinner tonight, vile some up and send it to me, my garden likes the pH of tears from grown men. Great for green onions and collards lol

  443. DBS Says:

  444. Matt Says:

Bowles is easily the worst HC in the league. He is a net negative everywhere a HC may influence a game. The only logic here is $$$

Most of JBF would be a better HC than Bowles as we would simply delegate things like defense, strategic decisions and tactical decisions. Bowles harms the Bucs in all 3

  445. BelleGladeBuc Says:

    @FortMyersDave

If Bucs home games look like a home game for the visiting team the Glazer’s will make money.

That’s the kind of national laughing stock that they will become, just like the Rays!

    🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  451. Been there since the beginning Says:

It might be time for new ownership, they got lucky with Gruden taking Tony Dungy’s team to the Superbowl. 19 years later and a half a million losses later, they made a huge move for Brady and he took us to the Superbowl. I’m not sure if it’s in the cards for Bowles to be a head coach and win a Superbowl. Really if you think about it we did good Bakers first year but we went backwards every since. I’m not sure about the cards there either. We need a lot on defense another receiver as good as Evans to replace him, and a real guard on the left side. So since their takeover of the Bucs the Glazers really only put in a real effort twice. Think about what happened after the first superbowl, dead in the water. What’s happening now ??

  452. Lakeland Says:

All this chit chat is useless
Bowles will be back, get the F over it

This is just disrespectful to the fan base. There are so many good young coordinators to go get.

Count me out. Will not see me at a game next year.

  458. Cardiac kidz Says:

Posting to post, it will make no positive difference, much like Todd.

In 4 years, coaching in the weakest division in the NFC, Todd is 2 games over 500. With our Offensive weapons in a Offensive driven league. We have a defensive coach that has proven his blitz pkgs don’t hold up in the must have moments.

I’ll be canceling my club tickets this week, I can’t even give away tickets this year, 26′ will be worse.

Like I said, worthless post. Just venting. Bring on 2027!

  459. TB Dork Says:

  460. Outrigger Says:

This isn’t over yet. Until the Glazers announce that Bowles is staying I am still holding out hope. They met with Bowles yesterday. Was that before or after Harbaugh became available. I just can’t believe the Glazers are stupid enough to keep a coach that 95% of fans hate. Furthermore, they can’t believe they can get a decent OC or DC with “lame duck” Todd as HC. The Glazers have worked some back room deals before. Let’s hope and pray they are working to get Harbaugh.

Dumbest move possibly of all time for this franchise

  465. Outrigger Says:

This is a smokescreen. Nothing about Bowles staying on the team’s official website. Glazers like to make big splashes. I believe (and hope and pray) they’re working behind the scenes to get Harbaugh.

  466. Durango 95 Says:

There has to be something else going on .It defies all logic. The Glazers are not stupid. They know he sucks. We have not heard anything from them. Which doesn’t help Bowles in his effort to hire staff. Very odd.

If u think the backlash is bad now you ain’t seen nothing yet.

  474. Danny Mac Says:

Embarrassing and beyond perplexing. If there were no good options available, fine, but there are at least half a dozen coaches that would be a massive upgrade. With the rest of the NFC South getting better, there’s a chance we pick in the top 10 next year.

  479. MadMax Says:

Not a jags fan sycophant boot licker….although i am a fan of certain players and coaches…so i wish Cohen the best in the playoffs, but i only wear Bucs colors….just taking a year off from it. Why care for a 3 to 4 win team when i and 95 percent of fans see it coming?

Like i said, they must be setting up for the 2027 draft for a top 3 and getting a qb or serious pass rusher ( edge would def be my move )….so im ok with it, take a year off, come in and watch the boot lickers who root for this coaching indecision complain again and again. But trust me, I’ll pop in sometimes to say “told you”.

  480. Outrigger Says:

They are trying to compare this to the Eagles slide at the end of the 2023 season. They stayed with Soriano and won the Super Bowl the next year. The only difference is in 2022 the Eagles were 14-3 and lost in the Super Bowl. Last year Todd went 10-7 and lost in the first round. Very different!!

  482. Lakeland Says:

    Outrigger,

    That’s what Graham Barton said

  483. Critmark Says:

Look at the bright side, this defensive genius coach can’t have the 33rd ranked pass defense next year!

  484. ChiBuc Says:

I find it hard to believe any HC would refuse to work with that paper doll of a GM, Licht. He’s as maliable as they come

  485. Please fire Bowles Says:

I can’t get behind this – If they start next season like this one ended – count me out. Not watching, not spending my dollars

  486. Chuckys Bucs Says:

Let’s go!! Baker and Bowles on prove it years. I’m all for it.

Unlike the rest of you I’m not freaking out over an 8-9 season.

The majority of you act like we won 2 games.

This team was decimated at on line while players were on and off the injury report all year across the board.

STFU BECAUSE ALL OF YOU WILL WATCH NEXT YEAR AND BE RIGHT BACK ON THE BANDWAGON WHEN IT’S GOING WELL!

  487. WhatInTheWorld Says:

I thinkreally age it brings much wisdom in many circumstances. However, not so certain in the NFL as the game changes yearly. So we have coach who is seemingly outdated as well as BA who recommend him. Who wants to look foolish at age 73 BA?

  488. Jmarkbuc Says:

NFL.com has picked up the story that he’s back.

  489. FortMyersDave Says:

Belle Glade, I agree with you but I think the Glazers do not care what people or the media think as they laugh all the way to the bank. Culverhouse did it to us fans for almost 20 years.

Good take by BucU. Buc fans will complain non stop about Bowles, we are becoming Jets South again as their fans cannot believe Owner Woody Johnson retained their 3 win head coach as they looked like a division 1-AA NCAA program down the stretch, kind of like our Bucs.

  490. Wouldn’t pay a single Buc to see this squad Says:

There is no such thing as a bandwagon Bucs fan. Like saying a well aged tattoo. Doesn’t exist. Similar to a bandwagon Montreal expos fan. No one would want to front run for this excrement.

  491. DailyRich Says:

I’m still waiting for something official from the team or the Glazers. Unless they think keeping Bowles was such an obvious decision that no statement is necessary. But given the fan outcry, you’d think they’d show their support for him somehow.

  492. TX Bucs fan Says:

Still a fan. I’m in “wait and see mode” before I spend anymore money on gear or tickets.

  493. MelvinJunior Says:

    I KNOW, RIGHT!? IT’S A TOTAL MALAISE.

@ SenileSenior Says: “Did John Harbaugh have his locker room! Otherwise, what went wrong in Baltimore?”

NO. TOTALLY, LOST-IT. EVEN, OLD LAMAR’S SOCIAL MEDIA POST EARLIER TODAY, NEVER MENTIONED ‘HIM’ or REALLY ANYTHING ABOUT IT… NOT A “THANKS, GOOD-LUCK COACH.” NOTHING.

  494. MelvinJunior Says:

WE KNOW WHAT WE SEE. ALL “SMOKE & MIRRORS.” WE ALREADY KNOW HOW THIS ENDS. AND, IT’S JUST THE PRINCIPLE.

  495. MelvinJunior Says:

@ StPeteMatt (basically) Says: “Todd Bowles Was Certainly BETTER Than Any Of The Other Options Out There.”

Then, YOU don’t know of any other coaches at all, then. There are literally, HUNDREDS.

  496. GhostofBrady Says:

Just shows how low our expectations are in Tampa. John Harbaugh makes playoffs 6 of last 8 years with 3 playoff wins in that time, a trip to AFC Championship and revolving OC. And they fire him because he had an 8-9 season by a missed 44 yard field goal.

I like Todd Bowles but as a Head Coach, he is below mid. As a defensive scheme architecture, he is out of date. His bend then snap in crunch time defense is excruciatingly frustrating. His ceiling is 10-7 and maybe a wild-card round win. We’ll just keep poaching a revolving door of Rams and 49ers OC and QB coaches with no stability on offense. Sucks… Time to be Jacksonville fan.

  497. Old school Buc Says:

    Oh no…… we suck again

  498. VOT Says:

Absolutely the worst possible outcome for the paying fans

The owners don’t care about us

We have to show them what an empty stadium looks like

Todd sucks out loud – 5-12 at best next year

  499. Capt1976 Says:

I was at the first bucs preseason game I was there for their first game, their first win, first playoff game in the cold rain to lose 9-0 to the Rams. I have remained a fan from the start through everything. No more.
I am out of town for work but when I return I will pack all of my jerseys and hats, along with many memories into a box and put them in the attic. Not hiring Coen last year was a mistake, keeping Bowles after the disgrace this past season was is malpractice.
I have followed this site near daily for years, sorry but I am done – I have better things to do with my time than waste them on a team with no accountability, and an apparent complete disinterest in their supporters.
I will check in from time to time as I genuinely love and appreciate this site. Joes, thank you for all of the good memories and information you have provided.

Not true, tons of bandwagon fans came and stayed cause of Brady. Also many Lightning fans who before could give 2 craps about the Bucs hopped on the bandwagon once the culture started to change.

  502. Wouldn’t pay a single Buc to see this squad Says:

Hey Glazers, Ira claims you read the site – here are 5 reasons we need a change

    1. Negative impact in high-leverage situations
Bowles’ teams underperform in one-score games and late-game scenarios. That points to deficiencies in decision-making, clock management, and situational football—areas directly attributable to the head coach, not talent.
    2. Defensive efficiency does not justify a defensive head coach
While raw defensive rankings can look respectable at times, efficiency metrics (explosive plays allowed, third-down defense, red-zone TD rate) consistently lag against competent offenses. A defensive HC should raise the unit’s floor, not require elite talent to function.
    3. Scheme rigidity limits opponent-specific optimization
Bowles relies heavily on pressure-based concepts regardless of opponent. Against experienced quarterbacks, this leads to predictable coverage busts and high EPA allowed. The lack of adaptive game planning shows schematic inflexibility.
    4. Offensive underperformance relative to roster inputs
Even accounting for QB limitations, the offense struggles in early-down success rate and sequencing. That suggests weak complementary football—failure to align offensive philosophy with defensive tendencies and game flow, which is a head coach responsibility.
    5. No observable year-over-year organizational learning curve
Penalties, communication breakdowns, and recurring execution errors persist late into seasons. Strong coaching staffs reduce variance over time; the Buccaneers remain inconsistent, indicating stagnant coaching processes rather than isolated player issues.

To put a bow on it –
Bowles functions more like a high-level coordinator than a value-adding head coach. His teams do not consistently outperform talent baselines, improve late in seasons, or gain advantages through preparation and adaptability—three core metrics of effective NFL head coaching.

  503. Lakeland Says:

I’m excited for the 2026 season,

I know the Glazers knows what’s best for their team
We had a lot of injuries this year
Next year should be a lot better

If the Glazers decide to fire Bowles, which they can do at any given time
I’m still behind them, I’m not going anywhere
Todd Bowles said he’s meeting with the coaches tomorrow
We may or may not see changes with the assistant coaches
Either way, we have the 15th pick

    Let’s go get it

  504. Sabine Says:

I`d prefer someone else – I just don`t believe in this coaching teams ability to make the players play to the best of their abilities.

  510. MadMax Says:

Im excited too Lakeland…..lets get ready for a top 3 pick in 2027.

Trade down the first pick, then trade down that pick, then trade down that pick….lets end up with four 3rds and two 4ths and two 5ths to build the backup spots!! Then next year, go after top talent.

  511. Wouldn’t pay a single Buc to see this squad Says:

We are the DollarGeneral of the nfl at this point.

  512. Oneilbuc Says:

They’re low key tanking this year and they don’t want to do it with a new coach. To the Baker fan boys enjoy this year because next year you guys will be home following Baker to his 5th team who ever that might be. To us real bucs fans we have to except that they are tanking and we need to really follow college football this year to see who we should get in the 2027 draft.

  513. MadMax Says:

#Tbbucs, because of Baker, we barely won 4 games in the last minute….We were actually a 4 win team this year mainly because of Todd and his D!! It finally reared its ugly head after the bye….but go ahead and keep your blinders on, pretend you didnt see it, thats what they’re for.

3rd and 28, but that was Baker’s fault for not covering the WR’s or playing pass rush!!! (I know Rod is coming in soon with his lame takes)

  514. BelleGladeBuc Says:

    @Warren Brooks Lynch

The difference between the price of those tickets in the Old Sombrero vs Raymond James is eye popping.

Single game cheap seat tickets could be had for $15 to $20 in 1985.

I didn’t mind paying that to see NFL football live, knowing that my Bucs would lose more than likely.

I definitely mind paying the staggering higher price for tickets today if the same is true.

  515. Wouldn’t pay a single Buc to see this squad Says:

Being a Buccaneers fan under Todd Bowles is a masterclass in emotional endurance. You don’t root for wins — you root for brief moments of competence. You convince yourself that soft zone on 3rd-and-long is actually “strategic,” that blown coverages are just “communication issues,” and that every loss is somehow part of a bigger plan no one has ever seen. You watch average quarterbacks carve up the defense like it’s a charity event, sit through clock management that suggests Bowles is personally allergic to urgency, and still show up the next week because you’ve already invested too much pain to quit now. Being a Bucs fan isn’t about hope — it’s about loyalty so unshakable it borders on self-inflicted suffering.

  516. MadMax Says:

Btw, my “trade down” scenario above is for this upcoming draft.

  517. Oneilbuc Says:

Chucky bucs. I hope your right but what did your eyes show you ? Bowles had the best team in the division the past 3 years and he never dominated this weak division!!

  518. FormerBucFan Says:

    Ticket sales are tanking… LMAO

  519. Jeff Says:

Just amazing… at least Hugh “make them pay for their game balls and sodas” Culverhouse had an excuse for ducking. These tools they call the Glazers have no excuse. Even Ray Charles can see through this feces fest. Whats the point of keeping a coach who will be gone in 365 days because his defensive genius only works against Roast Beef University and without Bakers early heroics this season would’ve won maybe 5 games. Who would come be a coordinator for a sitting duck coach? If this is about tanking? Why? We can develop a qb, a defensive pass rush and only have flash in the pan running backs. There is way too much cozy surrounding ownership and management in my opinion AND if I didnt know better, I’d say this is leading up to a possible relocation when the Bucs lease is up in 2028. Ownership should just bow out gracefully, as they are way over their heads, and sell to someone who wants to change the culture here in Tampa. This really sucks

  520. SB~LV 🏈 Says:

    Baker should demand a trade!

  521. SB~LV 🏈 Says:

Jason Lite is as guilty as Bowels is a BAD FOOTBALL COACH
    🤮🤮🤮🤮
This is what you get when you have leadership by committee!

  522. Outrigger Says:

We were 8-9 which doesn’t sound that terrible until someone tells you we were 6-2 at the bye and then proceeded to lose 7 out of our next 8 games, 4 of them being against the league’s bottom dwellers and damn near lost to another one in the Cardinals. On the other hand, the Ravens started the year 1-5 with tons of injuries including their MVP quarterback missing half the season. Despite that, the were 7-3 in their last 10 games.

  523. Architek Says:

I swear I will not watch one Bowles coached team next year if he comes back. This is the most boring and unentertaining teams in the NFL under Bowles. I get more value from watching random matchups.

  524. Outrigger Says:

Always remember the 3rd and 28. Then the 4th and 14. Remember CJ Stroud as a rookie throwing for over 500 yards and beating us. Remember losing to backups Mitch Trabisky, Jacoby Brissett (Cleveland), Gardner Minshew and Cooper Rush. How about losing to rookies Tyler Schough, 7th round backup rookie Quinn Evers, and Bo Nix last season. Getting torched by Desmond Ridder in 2023. And last but not least, Kirk Cousins throwing for can forget Kirk Cousins last 3 games against the Bucs defense:
    95 / 131
    Completion % : 72.5%
    Passing Yards: 1,158
    Passing Touchdowns: 11
    Interceptions: 1

    FIRE TODD NOW!!!’

  525. Chi-Town Buc Says:

It’s hard to fathom that Bowles survived after what we just witnessed this past season and the mediocrity the previous 3 seasons. Regardless of what OC, DC, coaching changes are made, Bowles is still the head coach, and he is as stubborn as a mule. Much like past coaches who refuse to allow players to play to their strengths, adjust, and admit when their schemes are no longer working, they end up in The Coaches’ Abyss and are only thought of again, when you for example think, “Hey, I wonder what Mike Martz is up to,” and you Google them. I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the Bucs’ owners. Wow.

  526. BucWild410 Says:

I am not a Bowels hater, he just is not a good NFL head coach.

He has also been in charge of this defense for years and the defense is the main problem with the Bucs. If we were decent on defense we would be 11-6 and in the playoffs, even with Baker and our bad OC.

No thanks, I will sit this season out and laugh at this debacle.

  527. adam from ny Says:

    3rd and bowles (28)

  528. adam from ny Says:

  529. Eckwood Says:

This can’t be accurate!! The Owners are going to see a season ticket mess i do believe !!

  530. BucsFan81 Says:

Glazers got to be thinking with their wallets only. I can’t watch Bowles coach another game. The way he coaches infuriates me. The guy has no balls and coaches to lose. Punts from the opponents 40. Remember last year when he went into halftime with all his timeouts every game like he got rewarded to do that. Defense giving up the booty in the middle of the field and down the field. 3rd and 17 and teams are converting. I mean who would want to watch this clown show.

  531. ChiBuc Says:

What time was kickoff? This game time thread is about 2 quarters long and posters just as disturbed as if watching a TB coached game

  532. GenocideD Says:

We’ve gotta coach them up. Less mistakes, run up the middle more often, lean more on our special teams and obviously drop Vea into more coverage.

  533. Bucono Says:

Survey says 5% confidence level in T Bowles…… So you’re telling me there is a chance ( Bucs don’t collapse again in 2026!)

  534. ChiBuc Says:

Sorry folks, but season tix aren’t really the big revenue stream like it was in the 80s, especially when the NFL in the back pocket of Vegas.

  535. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

it’s like a scorned ex-wives club in here, some of you are grown ass men with families in here sounding bih-made, it’s pathetic

  536. BUCDADDY Says:

Nah, the fans are usually, just like a lot of our players, all talk and no action. I do not agree with this decision, however, I’m not and will never be a bandwagon guy. I’m not jumping from the pirate ship EVER. I WILL, just like I taught my son, always be loyal to my team, no matter what.

I believe if we can get a new OC and DC, and convince Todd to take a lesser role in the defense and allow someone else to make the defensive adjustments, then we might just be alright.

But the worst decision we could make, maybe even worse than retaining Bowles, would be to keep Grizzard aboard the ship. If he stays, we will have another lackluster year, and possibly miss the playoffs again.

And for all the Baker haters, there’s not a QB out there that would fix this offense with it being ran the way it currently is. So please stop bringing up the QB play, like it was the most detrimental thing to hurt this team. The offense just needs an OC that is willing to risk it for the biscuit and quit being so damn predictable. GO BUCS!!!

  537. Gman Says:

For those of you who “demanding” that the Glazers say something….what do you expect them to say? They gave him an extension last year and that was for him to be the head coach in 2026. There is NO NEW NEWS being made here.

  538. BucU Says:

This ain’t going away. Every single day from this point forward the outrage will continue to build. We as the vast majority of this fan base will make sure of that. This outrage will continue to dominate all Buc related podcasts, sports shows and websites (including this one) unabated today, tomorrow, next week, next month and beyond. I look forward to the tsunami coming right at the Glazers. COWARDS.

  539. Simeon4HOF Says:

So what time is our playoff game this weekend

  540. Obvious Says:

    Lots o comments.

Pretty clear the ppl that can see reality and the people that shill for the organization.

I’m still gonna go to the games an root for the team but we know how this ends.

  541. Dreux in the Canoe Says:

I just cancelled my Sunday ticket for next year. I know the $480.00 is meaningless to the Bucs organization but I won’t throw my money away when the organization has given up. When you are afraid to kick to the opposing team or to attempt a single pass at the end of a half – you are playing scared.

When you decide to retain a coach that has lead the team to ever worsening results, you are telling the fans that you aren’t as hungry as other franchises. I was in the stadium for many of those losing games in 1976 and 1977. I love this team but won’t be watching until ownership demonstrate they care as much as I have for 50 years. It didn’t take long for the Brady effect to be washed away. What a shame.

  542. Swash Says:

The “Lakeland” account is so blatantly one of the Glazers. I’m guessing the sultry Darcie

  543. Tbbucs3 Says:

    BucsU

How exactly will b***** and moaning help the Bucs win more games in 2026?

I would hope that continuing to whine on social media like a like little children doesn’t represent the majority of the Bucs fan base.

That picture of JL right there, just says it ALL. THAT is THE “GM” of this franchise. Now, does THAT ‘look-like’ a REAL PROFESSIONAL, or EVEN a ‘serious’ individual. I mean, LOOK at how HE’s DRESSED. He doesn’t even have enough RESPECT FOR HIMSELF, much less for THE FRANCHISE. Forget “THE JOB” itself. It’s just ALL you need to know. A FAT, LAZY, SLOBBBBB. No Talent. Incompetent. ZERO CLASS. And, is dumbern a rock. LICKT must be KICKT.

  546. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“For those of you who “demanding” that the Glazers say something….what do you expect them to say?“

Exactly, it’s like you’re Amazon package coming late and expecting reassurance from Jeff Bezos himself lmao, not going to happen in fact he’ll publicly acknowledge patrons but do you really think he gives a flying frig about your puppy pads showing up a day or two late? No, he’s somewhere on the side of a mountain he owns or a yacht in seas most of us will never sea living it tf up, fans have this over inflated importance of themselves to where they THINK what they think moves needles. It doesn’t, hell you think Woody Johnson cares if the Jets win? Long as a third of the tri-state is coming to games and buying merch(not that he needs the money) he can keep paying the people he pay so he continue to not give a damn about public sentiment.

It’s like y’all were born here in America two weeks ago. Go cheer for another team, as a fan of the same team you say you are stop your bloodclat crying, you look weak out here

  548. Ben Says:

I think Im more angry now than I waa when Coen left. This is just malpractice. I hope fans boycott.

  549. MelvinJunior Says:

@ Gman – You expect a “State of the Franchise” interview, about what what went wrong, and WHAT will be DONE about it in order to FIX-IT. While, stating what THEIR PLAN IS going forward, & HOW are they going to accomplish it. WHY maintaining the status quo They Felt, was the way to go!? WHY would we as “FANS” have ANY amount of ‘confidence’ in THIS CURRENT GROUP (including THEM, when we’ve already seen with our own eyes)… WHY/HOW DO THEY!? I mean, hell… THAT is the least they could do. Old Arthur Blank sure did to HIS FANS. Just continuing to “Hide-Out” will NOT get it done. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Not even close.

  550. MelvinJunior Says:

“ hell you think Woody Johnson cares if the Jets win.”

YES. I sure do. HE fired HIS HC AGAIN. Didn’t care that HE still owed him A LOT OF $$$$$$. These WEAK Glazers, are penny pinchers. TIGHT AF. They got THEIR Super Bowl and their clout for awhile, so THEY GOOD. And, that’s why moving forward… We shouldn’t GAF EITHER. And, we won’t.

  551. MelvinJunior Says:

@ BUCDADDY “ And for all the Baker haters, there’s not a QB out there that would fix this offense”

    Absolutely, DELUSIONAL.

  552. MelvinJunior Says:

@ BUC WILD Says: “He has also been in charge of this defense for years and the defense is the main problem with the Bucs.”

Yeah Hahahah… It’s just SO ABSURD. It’s Laughable.

  553. DJR589 Says:

What coaching changes could he possibly make that are coming to get us to the NFC championship game? NO assistants or talented coordinators are going to want to coach in Tampa knowing Bowles is a wounded duck and they could be out looking for jobs after next season!

  554. MelvinJunior Says:

@ JEFF SAYS: “There is way too much cozy surrounding ownership and management in my opinion AND if I didnt know better, I’d say this is leading up to a possible relocation when the Bucs lease is up in 2028.”

YeeeeUP. YOU read that TB-Times article there, didn’t ya! Exactly, what I was thinking!!!! They’re gearing up for a BIG-MOVE to DISNEY!!!! Just Watch.

  555. firethecannons Says:

We had to endure a very bad team that lost 8 or 9 games in a row. Only one decent game all season (seahawk game). Now we have no playoffs. Now we are saddled yet again with the worst coach in the entire 32 team league. He aint worth 5 bucks! Now we have nothing to look forward too. Yea I’m out. The Glazers are cheap AF. No way am I on board with this sht coach. 31 other teams out there.

  556. MelvinJunior Says:

@ Tbbucs3 Says: “many Lightning fans who before could give 2 craps about the Bucs hopped on the bandwagon once the culture started to change”

That’s SUCH BOGUS BS. It’s NOT a “Bandwagon Fan.” THAT is a LOCAL “casual fan,” supporting THEIR TEAM. So, What… YOU didn’t cheat for The LIGHTNING” then, when THEY went on their run!? PLEASE.

  557. FortMyersDave Says:

Melvin, Aaron Glenn is still HC of the Jets but at least they have some draft picks after trading away their only starting caliber players to Indy and the Cowboys. Aaron Glenn seems like a Bowles clone to me in his stubborness but they did beat the ATL, juist no one else in a long time. Is Tampa Bay now NY Jet south or are the Jets now Tampa Bay north??????

  558. Eckwood Says:

@ chibuc you are correct !!!! but owners don’t like down trends in fan measurable’s . very seldom when you ask the audience are they grossly wrong !! they will undoubtably see this as they should !!

  559. Usfbucs Says:

With all the smoke around the team and Bowles I think it’s damning that they have not said themselves or had Licht come out and say that Bowles will be the coach of the team next year. I think we are still in wait and see mode.

  560. FortMyersDave Says:

USFbucs this is all conjecture. One report from one reporter who says he spoke to the HC does not make this to be the actual truth just what the coach and reporter currently believe. However, the Glazers may keep the HC and if it goes south than blow the whole thing up for 2027 like the ATL is doing this year.

  561. LJ Says:

Hey Lakeland! Surprised Judd hasn’t raided your Ayahuasca still yet. Keep on drinking or smoking WHATEVER?

  564. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“Glenn seems like a Bowles clone to me in his stubborness but they did beat the ATL, juist no one else in a long time. Is Tampa Bay now NY Jet south or are the Jets now Tampa Bay north??????“

The irony of this statement, is that the last winning season the Jets had they went 10-6 in 2015 and guess who was the coach?

  565. Matt Says:

    Sad 🙁

  566. WNCBucsFan Says:

I will still follow the Bucs this next year. Might be disappointing, might not be. They still should make more changes to the coaching staff, and hire a good DC. Bowles has done better than many of his predecessors, so all this crying is likely just a waste of time. If the Bucs fail to produce this next year, then it should be time to usher Bowles to the door. I am by no means a Bowles hater, just a realist.

  567. Austin James Says:

Just found this out…thought for sure he woulda been canned. Really rubbed me the wrong way when he blamed the players for poor play instead of taking responsibility.
