No Excuses From Tristan Wirfs

January 5th, 2026

Control your own destiny.

Tristan Wirfs seemed to signal to Bucs fans, the team screwed up.

Down the stretch, which everyone assumed would have been the moist cake of the Bucs schedule, was when the Bucs shat their pants. And they’re paying for that now by watching the first round of the playoffs from their couches, just like you and Joe.

Wirfs, the All-Pro tackle, said today on locker clean out day, that the Bucs set themselves up for misfortune by not taking care of business after the bye.

Particularly galling were losses to inferior teams New Orleans, Atlanta and Carolina — the first two at home, the third on the road, all in a row.

“It’s tough leaving it in someone else’s hands,” Wirfs said of needing the hated slimy Saints to beat Atlanta so the Bucs could back door their way into the playoffs.

Atlanta beat New Orleans on Sunday, ending the Bucs’ season.

While missing the playoff hurts, Wirfs said, at least they won the final game of the regular season against Carolina to keep their hopes alive for about 20 hours.

“It felt a lot better than if we just lost straight up [against Carolina],” Wirfs said. “Not the way we wanted the year to go.”

So now we all wait, and players like Wirfs wonder who their coaches for 2026 will be.

    Fire Bowles!!!!

  2. HC Grover Says:

Fire Bowzo….Move him back to RT. Draft best LT in draft…rebuild line.

  3. AlstottNumber1 Says:

The very least is exactly how I would summarize the 2025 season.

Many of us were laughed at and ridiculed by the pom pom waivers who claimed that 11 wins was the low water mark and we’d be eating crow.

As the wiser ones amongst the group, we realists tried telling you that Bowles would find a way to sour the season as he had done three years in a row.

Bowles simply said hold my beer. His defense was even worse than any year prior.

And his chosen OC was an absolute disaster. Way out of his depth.

The Glazers really screwed the pooch letting Coen walk.

Now we’re stuck with TB Zero for at least 1 to 3 more miserable years.

  4. Dubcity6 Says:

No one would have won any more than Bowles did, with this roster… there’s no talent on the Bucs.. besides at WR.. tell the GM you cant build a team like that

  5. RBUC Says:

Plzzzzz STOP with this inferior teams narrative!!! I personally believe the Falcons have more young & explosive talent than the Bucs do and what the Bucs need more than anything is MORE top tier talent from the draft than what they have been getting from picking around 20 the last few seasons

  6. HC Grover Says:

If Glazers keep Bowzo fans may boycott.

  7. SB~LV 🏈 Says:

    Those first 3 games/wins
    Told the tale
Too bad there wasn’t enough time to recognize and recognize ( sarcasm)

  8. adam from ny Says:

the oline was just in shambles from before day one with the injury bug…

and it never really let up the whole year…

tough year to get that road-grader mentality going…

equaling a tough year for bucky as well

  9. Dubcity6 Says:

The players selected on the defense are not it.. I’d take any roster in the NFL over the Bucs, on defense.. not enough people blame Litch

  10. adam from ny Says:

this might be the first year tristan hasn’t made the playoffs since coming into the nfl

  11. PanhandleBuc Says:

Glad I have 50th anniversary swag to remember this clown show of a season! You all let us down Bucs! Time to right a wrong or enter “The lost decade” part 2.

  12. Vegasbuc Says:

Fire Todd. Only job you can get in the world when you do it wrong you still get paid unlike the rest of us

  13. HelloKittyBuc Says:

We fans are dismayed with the tragic news that bowles is returning.

  14. gbobucsfan Says:

Is Toddle’s press conference on youtube?

  15. HeavyE Says:

Hey Tristian, please don’t wait, until July or August to get Your toe looked at, we need You at the start of the season….Lets Go Bucs!!!

  16. DBS Says:

AlstottNumber1 please enlighten us what name you were using when you made these bold predictions.

  17. buc4evr Says:

Even if Bowles isn’t fired today,I have to believe the Glazers will be looking for an upgrade. If they find someone better in the next few months, Todd is history.

  18. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

I hope the Bucs are looking into the college ranks for NEW coaching blood!

  19. Dubcity6 Says:

Tell me again how drafting a WR was a good idea… morons

  20. Jmarkbuc Says:

They’re not firing him today. Just listened to as much of his press conference as I can stand. Until he said we gotta play a little bit better.

  21. Rocketman Says:

If Bowles comes back, this is a 6-11 team in 2026. Will the owners make a change then? The most valuable commodity in life is time. Is it worth wasting another year with this guy given is consistently mediocre track record? Stop
    Embarrassing yourself and Tampa Bay.

  22. Tony Says:

    @HC Grover

The fans should boycott the team if they don’t do anything about this. They expect all this change & they don’t wanna spend any $$$$ & change anything. They’re probably just gonna get the same thing next year if they stick with him.

  23. Aqualung Says:

I started watching the Belowszo live on YouTube and couldn’t take it.

IF THE BUCS DON’T FIRE THIS LOSER IT’S OVER FOR A LOT OF FANS INCLUDING MYSELF.

No way anyone should have to tolerate another minute of this buffoon.

And the press are all serving him fargin cupcakes. what a load of crap.

  24. Nick jannette Says:

I’m a life long Bucs fan die hard tattoo on arm guy, but if you keep Bowles I’ll just start watching Jacksonville until he’s fired I will not support this garbage anymore Bowles is .500 when we should be competing for Championships.

  25. HC Grover Says:

Glazers do not like us…..They got fans on the run and I bet they move team to London.

  26. HC Grover Says:

    Nick J you got it.

  27. HC Grover Says:

And the Bucs exploded with a mighty crash

    Fans on the run

Not from team but from these Glazers…Euro creeps….They gonna go London.

    London Buccaneers

  28. HC Grover Says:

Tony the locals just like go the game an can afford. They just party and go.

  29. HC Grover Says:

So…Bowzo is Baaaaack….LOL no longer care about off season.

  30. Daryl Green Says:

Wirf did your toe feel better during the Carolina game ? Mr. All Pro could have used you for the Miami gm. Couldn’t tuff that one out?

  31. Bucs33Saints14! Says:

Correction, either the London Drakes (as in Sir Francis) or the London Privateers. Alas, me Buccos!

  32. Lastbeing Says:

You mean to tell me the last 8 out of 10 games you can’t win a game? But the last game we win and cost us better draft position and they are keeping Bowles ? Unbelievable!

  33. Tom Petty Says:

Same people have been “threatening” to leave and no longer be fans for 2 years yet they continue to show up and flood the comments every single day. The angry whiner brigade ain’t going anywhere. We wish.

If your serious about switching teams, or not being a fan, or boycotting (lol), blah blah blah, just say it once and move on. You WILL NOT be missed by the team or the fans.

  34. It's Corn Says:

won… by 2 points… at home. And by about 30 seconds.

With tremendous talent on offense. Talk about playing not to lose…

  35. Rob Says:

It’s well known that the Bucs DONT practice hard during the week. Especially so this year. TKraz mentioned that again on his show today. That is entirely on the head coach.
Loaf in practice, loaf on game day. And we wonder why all 3 phases of the team are flat & uninspired on Sunday? He!!, many of our players are flat out lazy and don’t give AF out there.
    Again, it’s 💯 coaching, period!

  36. Gipper Says:

3rd and 28; 4th and 12……….The defensive genius has a lot of explaining to do…..Doesn’t matter just the usual mishmash of football cliches that doesn’t amount to anything. Todd Bowles is a good man but a lousy DC and a worse HC. If he were a good HC, he would have fired his DC years ago.

  37. Steven007 Says:

Grover, do you have a screw loose? Why this obsession with moving to London? Where is your Intel? And why do you refer to them as woke? What do you even mean by that? You just spew the same crap on every single post. No matter the subject. Get a hobby.

  38. Durango 95 Says:

There are players speaking out against Bowles. Including guys on the OL. Which I read at another Bucs fan site. JBF does a great job, however I always felt JBF went light on Bowles. Their choice. I was glad to see that many players are speaking out against Bowles and his insanely light practices. Not Wirfs but quite a few others. Look around and you’ll find it. Eye opening.

  39. Juan Hung Lo Says:

    Gipper Says:
Todd Bowles is a good man but a lousy DC and a worse HC.

Who told you he is a good man? The media?
    Do good men tell lies?

  40. Crazyhorse54 Says:

RBUC, now, now, our GM wants nice men on the team. Skill may or may not be the key reason to draft or sign a FA. They have to be mice, err nice.

  41. Hail2dabucs Says:

Hc Grover made a valid and interesting point . I was extremely disappointed with our rt tackle . Luke was not very good , at all . Move whirfs back to rt & draft a top notch , nasty LT . That would be a great move & my gosh can we get some good backups for both guard positions please . That feely guy too many times ended up getting pushed around like a rag doll . BTW how in the holy hockey sticks have we not fired toilet todd yet ? I know a lot of teams are not looking at the same coaches but as a fan , it’s going to be really hard watching this same coaching staff coach us again next year . Sheesh !!

  42. Bucs4Ever Says:

Football should be fun. With this guy, it is not. It’s painful!

  43. Steven007 Says:

Left tackle is one of the elite positions in the NFL. Solid guys, all pros, are rare. We have one. Luke didn’t have a great year, but he’s an above average right tackle. Absolute lunacy to do what’s being suggested here.

  44. BakerFan Says:

This attitude has to end, at least we won the final game. What a Loser statement coming from a team leader. I don’t hold much hope for this team ever to win a title. What a mess Licht has assembled.

  45. ToesOnTheLine!!! Says:

Maybe there will be a silver lining in this mess…sometimes it’s human nature to become complacent and take (good) things for granted (like winning a perennially weak division). Perhaps the gut punch of sitting home watching the playoffs on TV vs getting to play in them for the first time in five years will help motivate some of these players and coaches and relight a fire under their butts?

  46. David Says:

    FIRE BOWLES!
    Fire Griz!
And why in the hell has the special team coach not been fired yet?
5 blocked kicks? Is that a record? Insane this guy had a job after Halloween.

  47. David Says:

If they stick with the coaching staff they have now they are going to see a lot of empty seats next year. I guarantee I will not go to the two games I go to every year.
For what? So we can watch a team with enough talent to win 12 games struggle to get the 500 again?

    FIRE THEM NOW
