I hope Bowles is watching this Texans vs Patriots game. This how you play defense. Learn how to coach it like this Bowles. New poll should be who do we want as the head coach in 2027
McDaniel will probably be getting a HC position, so my second choice would be Callahan. While things didn’t work out with the Titans, He did have a top ten offense with the Bengals. Thing he would be a good fit with Baker.
Doesn’t matter who I want. Who can the.Bucs actually land? They are not exactly in a position of strength. I would imagine this job will be towards the bottom of the openings. Talent on this offense but could be one and done.

“I would imagine this job will be towards the bottom of the openings.”
I disagree. Even if Bowles has a winning, successful season, there is a good chance he retires. That means the next OCs both have a shot at taking over.
The Bucs have no chance at either Monken or McDaniel because both of them see this as a ship taking on water. They’re both too coveted, too good and too smart to come here for one year.
Sorry to feel this way, but Tampa is not a good opportunity for any assistants. They will end up having to hire tired and ineffective coaches who could not survive somewhere else.
Unless the Glazers offer way above market value and multi-year deals.
And that ain’t happening.
All that crap about caring about the fans went out the window when they realized the extension of Bowles was going to make replacing him more expensive than they could stomach.
But…look what he did with Kurt Warner. He even turned Marc Bulger into a respectable quarterback for a few seasons. He even got a 4,000 yard season out of freakin Jon Kitna one year.
It’d be interesting to see what he could do with Baker Mayfield.
What has Daniel’s done? For a couple of years he beat up on the Jets & a lost Patriots team. Couldn’t knock off the Bills and never sniffed a SB. Not to mention he’s a odd duck, I doubt many players relate to him.
Complain about Todd all you want, and I’m certain you will, but Todd has done a very good job picking OCs — and no, I don’t think Grizz was his pick, I think Todd was sold on the idea of continuity. But the two other times Bowles went through his long drawn out process, he’s made one solid pick in Canales (a guy the Seahawks had just demoted), and hit one out of the park with Coen. Both guys were different branches of the same coaching tree, which should be a clue to where Bowles would prefer to go.
I’m not too worried if the Bucs get a big name or not, and I assume in the end, Bowles will pick someone who no one has ever heard of, and everyone will say “who!?” and then whine and complain as if we haven’t already been through this multiple times.
As for Grizz, I recall last season being very concerned when he said he wanted Baker to throw deep more, and everyone called him a wiz kid. If he was so smart, he’d have known that Baker stunk at throwing the deep ball. Additionally when Grizz did a preseason interview with Ronde, the first time I heard him talk outside of a few clips, he sounded like an idiot.
Anywho, again, I’ll give Bowles the benefit of the doubt on this pick – the same way I give Licht the benefit of the doubt on offensive lineman.

I doubt Bowles has picked any of his OCs. That’s Jason Licht’s job. And he picked rookie OCs each time.
2 out of 3 isn’t bad though.
As to your comments on Baker Mayfield…I think he’s better than you believe. He was in the running for mvp for a reason. It all went downhill after his own injury and the OL injuries.
Kliff was the first person I mentioned when this went down.
Then I read why Dan Q. Fired him too much no huddle and not running the ball
enough. I also think his offense spends alot of time in shotgun. I knew then This HC
of this team wouldn’t bring him in. Now if they haven’t scheduled anymore interviews. I suspect they would start doing 2nd interviews with this group.
For you Tree fans. They can bring in the Kubiac from the 49ers but he hasn’t called plays. I need a play caller. The MM continue talk is just silly. If i can get a quality qb coach a teacher of the position. I would look @ Drew lock and or the kid from the jets good skill set just can’t yet read NFL defenses. ( back up qb)

Daboll, Joe Brady, kubiak… Why such a short list? Even the kid from the Rams wasn’t mentioned here, steelhouse or whatever his name.
I agree hopefully they keep interviewing. I just don’t Trust this HC.
And this he picked 2out 3 crap is goolash. I give you Coen, there is know way the panthers should be able to hang with us, that’s a Tampa problem. Coen has a legit qb that is still growing that’s a no brainer to take that job.
Martz is 74? I thought he was closer to Tom Moore’s age. Joe should do a poll to see who we fans want as OC if McDaniel is not available. I am curious to who would be choice #2. If the Rams lose tonight look for a flurry of requests to interview their assistants.

Why is Monken still being talked about? He’s going to the Giants.
January 18th, 2026 at 5:22 pm
Stop effing around and hire Byron Leftwich already.
Goodness. Are we dense? It’s not…that…hard!
Byron is the only answer if you want to reengage the fan base, Glazers.

Brian Daboll?

I just want to win win win.

At 74, he is pretty old. He would be an okay option other than that.
But I think the goal is someone who can take Bowles job by next year. I doubt Martz could do it.

McDaniel, because you pretty much know what you’re getting in terms of his philosophy and what he’d want the identity of his offense to be.
Would be a big upgrade over each one of our one and done OCs, yes including Coen.

KLINT KUBIAC
The next great young offensive mind. Get him for HC/OC.
For DC look to Seattle, Rams, Texans, etc., for up-and-coming potential coordinators.
Please do not rehash 60 year-old coaches
