Josh Grizzard Back On The Job Hunt
January 19th, 2026It seems former Bucs offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard wasn’t just content with daily trips to the golf course since he was given an involuntary vacation earlier this month.
Per the fingers of NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Grizzard is interviewing for a new job, albeit in a city where golfing in January is unheard of.
The mighty Eagles are bringing Grizzard in to interview for the opening of offensive coordinator, per Schultz. This is surprising to Joe. Grizzard failed in his lone season as an offensive coordinator yet perhaps the smartest-run franchise, the most aggressive franchise in the NFL, deems Grizzard good enough to give him an interview. Good for Grizzard.
Joe will say this: If the Eagles do hire Grizzard as their next offensive coordinator, the problem with the Bucs this past season wasn’t Grizzard.
Sources: The #Eagles will interview former #Bucs OC Josh Grizzard today for their vacant OC position.
Grizzard spent 2024 as Tampa Bay’s pass-game coordinator, when the Bucs ranked third in passing. The team had four one-score wins in their first five games with Baker Mayfield… pic.twitter.com/x6ilPdUzSZ

Hire McDermott
January 19th, 2026 at 10:14 am
Well, this is interesting. Perhaps some people in the industry think Grizz has something to offer, which means that his firing by Bowles could be simply what we all suspect: Bowles needed a scapegoat and the kid was inexperienced and probably did make one crucial mistake after the bye: his O went turtle. It went conservative as if Bowles had a big influence over Grizz. That is going to be a big negative for the Tampa OC job which is already iffy because Todd Bowles is on the hottest of hot seats. Don’t look now but McDermott is on the HC market and now Buffalo is going to interview candidates. I wonder where Joe Brady will end up, maybe he gets the first HC interview by the Bills.

Bills fire their head coach but we keep Bowles. I cant understand why they kept Bowles all these better coaches are getting fired but the Bucs keep this clown. Makes the Bucs look stupid

I’ll fall down laughing if Grizzard gets hired by Philly and looks good.
That’ll prove how inept Bowles really is, and justify firing his incompetent butt next January.

Our O line was a shuffled deck of cards. Godwin wasn’t himself, Evans missed time, as did Bucky. Grizz wasn’t the best, but as I said luck wasn’t on his side either.

Philly offense with Jale is much different than what we have with Baker.
Plays that work well for Jalen will not work for Baker and vice versa.

Lol bills fire sean. Wild how he gets fired but no no we win the south. This tells you how fing clueless our owners and gm are. Tomlin Harbaugh and him. Tell me this whos a better coach them or Todd i cant adjust a scheme to my own players bowles. Or Todd I cant draft nor developer a single player at edge or lb. Tell me whos got the better coaching and resume. Ill tell u this. It aint too late to fire this loser. Fire him and get sean McDermott on a jet and call it a day.

Watch him do amazing

Good 4 you Grizz 🤙🏾👊🏾

The whole idea of being an OC is to keep the defense off base and guessing on each play call. With Grizz, it was just the opposite. Everyone watching on TV and the opposing team knew what was coming. Sadly predictable, much like TB’s sadly predicatble weak zone defense.

Grizz got a raw deal in Tampa. I stated this earlier. Canales and Coen would not have been offered HC jobs if they had to deal with the injury situation we had in 2025. We were 6 and 2 with nobody on the OL playing the position they were supposed to be playing. Not only that, we were 6 and 2 WITHOUT Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. After the bye week we were effectively working with a crippled Baker Mayfield, and we don’t have a backup quarterback. For all 17 games we had Todd Bowles’ pathetic excuse for a defense. I suspect that some questionable decisions made on offense came from Bowles. No doubt Grizz made some rookie mistakes, but that’s to be expected. I will always wonder what Grizz would have accomplished with a healthy offense. I wish him well. Bowles and his historically pathetic defense is still here. It’s depressing.

Wow. Bills fired McDermott. Dude was 98-50 and won 4 straight AFC East titles.

Grizz may have been able to do a better job if he called plays from the booth…

💯

@ BigBoiBuc – I believe it was actually 5-straight. 2020-2024.

GM at Philly knows what the “Bowles effect “ is. Hoping Grizzard does well somewhere.
January 19th, 2026 at 11:17 am
It’s obvious that Mayfield was the biggest problem after the bye week but hardly anybody wants to admit it.
January 19th, 2026 at 11:24 am
😳 for real. This is interesting.
January 19th, 2026 at 11:24 am
Holy crap this comments section. So we love The Grizz now???
January 19th, 2026 at 11:39 am
Ryan, what’s obvious to you is a mirage. Weak coffee. The biggest problem of the year was injuries. But excuses don’t cut it in this business. Someone had to take the fall. Grizzard will land on his feet.
January 19th, 2026 at 11:44 am
Wishing him luck. However, if he doesn’t do well, their fans will definitely let him know it.
January 19th, 2026 at 11:49 am
Everyone including Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder and Helen Keller could see who the problem was/is.
January 19th, 2026 at 11:59 am
LOLLLLLLLLL🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
January 19th, 2026 at 12:08 pm
They are interviewing him to gather intel on the Bucs. That’s all.
January 19th, 2026 at 12:18 pm
Philly thought they could get something out of Devin White too 🤣
January 19th, 2026 at 12:23 pm
They have an offensive head coach. The offense would be hybrid at most and Sirianni would be managing him. Would be a good move for Grizzard.
January 19th, 2026 at 12:37 pm
If the Eagles or anyone else hires him doesn’t necessarily mean he was or was not the problem. If he were to get hired, his success or failure depends on a multitude of factors. One possibility could be that he’s learned after a year on the job and he’s now more prepared to succeed. Nobody can really say with 100% certainty why things didn’t work out.
One thing that is sure if you’ve watched the defensive play of almost every team in the playoffs and that is that everyone of those defenses are better than ours and definitely play with more intensity and physicality!
