But I really believe Bowles killed him the second half of the season by telling him how to call the game. Then he threw him under the bus.

  2. Deeboooo Says:

    Hard yes

  3. Lakeland Says:

    No 1,000 yard WR
    No 1,000 yard RB
    No 4,000 yard QB

    Something had to be done

  4. Aqualung Says:

The question is moot. Yes is the answer. But Todd shouldn’t have had the CV since to fire anyone. It’s his failure that should have been set on fire publicly.

  5. Jimmydeez Says:

HC and injuries handcuffed offense, should have fired DC

  6. HopetheBucswin Says:

You could see with his demeanor and biting his bottom lip that he was a little over his head. Where as Coen was cool and calm. Grizz has no pokerface. Mymymy pokerface. Why am i not excited about football Saturday? It’s a -i guess we’re stuck with Bowles- Bucs life!

  7. Aqualung Says:

Shouldn’t have had the chance to fire anyone. Belows should have been fired weeks ago.

  8. Aqualung Says:

Bowles isn’t going to have any assistants in 2026. He’ll do it all. Save Glazers money.

  9. Bee Says:

Crazy thing is, if the offense would’ve gotten a first down in the Atlanta game late in the 4th qtr, and won the game, they would be in the playoffs and Grizz would still be employed.

Funny how things turn out sometimes.

  10. Ugo Says:

Yes but if I had to fire only 3 coaches, I’m not sure Grizz would have been on the chopping block. Special teams, linebacker coach and defensive coordinator would have been fired before Grizz

  11. Stallworth Says:

Grizzard should not have been fired. All the failures on this team were because of Todd Bowles. The first 8 games of the year our offense was doing really well. Baker was an MVP candidate. Rookies were catching bombs. The RB’s were making big plays. All while the O line was decimated. Something happened at the bye week and the wheels came off every aspect of this team. The game plan turned into turtle Todd. Grizzard was just another scape goat because his offense couldn’t float the team like Coen’s could. Grizzard was probably better than Canales but the team imploded so they need to find an offense that can cover for Todd’s putrid defense.

    Points per game
    Canales: 20.5 (20th) / Grizzard: 22.4 (18th)

    Total yards per game
    Canales: 313.0 (23rd) / Grizzard: 320.4 (21st)

    Pass yards per game
    Canales: 224.2 (17th) / Grizzard: 205.9 (20th)

    Rush yards per game
    Canales: 88.8 (32nd) / Grizzard: 114.5 (21st)

  12. Obvious One Says:

I don’t think Anybody was in charge. At least no adults were involved.

  13. MelvinJunior Says:

@Thisisouryear!!!! – I agree with that! They definitely threw him under the bus and scapegoated him, a FIRST-TIME Play-Caller, who THEY (Lickt and Bowles) HARRED. Just because he wasn’t as ELITE as Cohen, and therefore did not make “BOWLES” look near as good either. By about the time the ‘second half’ of the season rolled around, I don’t think he knew WHAT TO DO. I think Bowles had him soooo damn confused (and scared for BOTH their jobs), that he didn’t know what was ‘up’ and what was ‘down’ by THEN. I BLAME BOWLES 💯. 💯

  14. MelvinJunior Says:

Bowles has possibly DESTROYED his career. Definitely handed it a MAJOR setback. Cost him YEARS.

  15. MelvinJunior Says:

Just sucks for Grizz that he entrusted his career in the hands of one Todd Bowles. Todd was NEVER going to stand up for HIM in that exact situation. And, I guarantee it wasn’t even “crickets” either, with saying nothing at all… But, was an all-out ‘full-blown’ onslaught of BLAME. You already know THAT. Cause, it’s NEVER EVER “Todd’s” FAULT. I mean, are you kidding-me!

  16. MelvinJunior Says:

Oh, yeah… Also, meant to add that it was NOT Grizz’s decision to give the entire team OFF all during the “Bye-Week,” and NOT fricking PRACTICE, at ALL.

  17. MelvinJunior Says:

That worked out just SO WELL, right!? LAUGHABLE. It’s inexcusable is what it is, and it should’ve been a FIREABLE OFFENSE. Especially, given the RESULTS. 2-7. LOSING TO THE ‘WORST TEAMS’ IN THE ENTIRE LEAGUE (while just BARELY beating Carolina and Arizona), with prob THE ‘WEAKEST’ SCHEDULE.

  18. MelvinJunior Says:

Just sooooo obvious that Bowles screwed him all up!!!!! The dude never stood a chance.

  19. HC Grover Says:

They need Bowlse to pave the way to ‘The Manchester Buccaneers’.

  20. Tye Says:

Grizz was out shining IBS during the 1st half of the season and IBS MUST HAVE sabotaged Grizz so he would NOT replace him…

  21. #1bucsfan Says:

For the crowed bellyaching that Bowles ruined the offense. Your assessment holds no merit. Canales and coen both got head coaching jobs off their offenses. Your hatred for Bowles is ruining your rational thinking. Grizz started off hot but the rest of the nfl figured him out. Mayfield missing wide open receivers and check downs or throwing ints totally Bowles fault. Listen Bowles has his hands full with his leaking defense. Grizz consistently called plays short of the chains and his offense went east n west.

  22. Daniel Z Says:

Of any of the coaches who were fired, Grizzard deserved it the least. His side of the ball dealt with major injuries throughout the year, but was still good for half the year. Was he good enough to brung back? Maybe, but Todd needed to have other people to blame and Grizzard was the collateral damage.
