Todd Bowles Says He And The Team Are Just Fine

December 22nd, 2025

The state of the union is strong at One Buc Palace.

The key cards still work, too.

Todd Bowles had his post-debacle news conference today after the Bucs lost their sixth game in seven tries — and three in a row against a division foe.

Confidence is where it needs to be among players, Bowles said adding, “There’s nothing wrong with our mental state.”

Perhaps there should be something wrong?

Bowles also was asked how he’s feeling personally in the midst of this historic Bucs nosedive out of first place.

“I’m fine. You know, I’m fine,” Bowles said, noting that coaching is never easy and getting “pissed off” and grinding daily is part of the job.

Listening to Bowles, who also addressed other subjects, Joe heard a head coach who thinks his team is on the proper path.

On the day the schedule came out I had them losing that game in Carolina, so it was no shock when Baker had yet another 4th quarter collapse and lost the game, 3rd week in a row of seeing that.

But here we are, the Bucs still somehow control their own destiny. If Baker doesn’t play like dog s— the past 3 games, was merely middling, the Bucs are literally 3-0 in them and every is hyped about the playoffs.

In any case, I’ve always had them winning these last two games, so lets see what happens. It’s still up to the Bucs, if Baker shows up, stops single handedly losing games, then the Bucs will get in. If Baker keeps throwing 4th quarter INTs and missing wide open guys, then the Bucs will lose out.

Yes a 3 point half-time deficient is pretty much impossible to overcome. You can’t blame Baker when the defense is giving up 23-points, who would expect a team with Baker, Bucky, Evans, Godwin, e2, McMillan, White, etc to put up that kind of points? LOL!

Jameis Winston fan Rod can’t get over his post traumatic stress from those 30 int’s in 2019. Arent you the fruit salad that makes every excuse on the world for the goofiest, most mistake prone player – maybe in NFL history? And yet, you’re ragging on the few Baker fans who are still supporting their starting quarterback? Hypocrite much Jaboo BOY?

Did you watch the game Rod? I think not since if you had watched the game Baker played fairly well considering the plays that were called. As far as the INT you would have seen that ME stopped running his route for whatever reason. Was that the QB’s fault? It was too much to ask of the team to move the ball 50+ yards after starting the last drive at their ten yard line.

  25. Rod Munch Says:

Baker literally single handedly loses three divisional games in a row — and no, he’s not the problem, it’s Dean giving up a TD before halftime. It’s Bowles, it’s special teams, it’s the offensive line, it’s Evans, it’s e2, it’s Godwin, it’s Bucky, it’s everyone but Baker. Same routine over and over again.

Oh, and I almost forgot… Baker is hurt you know, is being forced to play against his will by Bowles and Licht.

    LOL!

Who called the dink and dunk pass plays? Who had a game plan to run the ball and run some more? Baker INT’s are not extreme this year statistically. They have been game losers unfortunately. I’ll bet the loony fans would appreciate Baker more if he threw it away every time unless a receiver was wide open. That would fix the INT issues but would also result in additional losses.

What is Bowles saying? This is an insult to Bucs fans intelligent and they have to pay their hard earn money for these losing games without any effort from the team? The ship is sinking every second that he spoke and he knows it. Let’s the season end now so the fans not going to suffer anymore pain and heartaches. Bowles needs to be gone asap.

Kind of hilarious seeing Rod Munch back after last year. Brother only hate watches

  38. PoundTheRock Says:

Bowles is completely clueless, things are not fine. He is insufferable.

This team has no juice! The players have tuned out and quit on him.

Let’s be honest, Bowles is below average HC. Currently Bowles tenure as HC, he is 34-32 in an incredibly bad division. During this 4 season run, the 3 other teams in the are a collective 76-122, absolutely deplorable. That is a .384 winning percentage.

A side note, Bowles was 24-40 as HC with the Jets…so let’s be really honest, he is a terrible head coach.

I hear fans defend about how the Bucs have won 4 division NFC South titles…
did they really win them…they were just the best of an extremely poor division. I compare this to a gambler that has basically broke even, but they tell you about all the wins and how successful they have been. It is smoke and mirrors!

The fan base has had enough. Watching, that game yesterday where Bowles is more worried about running the ball 30 times and limiting the Bucs offense and slowing everything to a snails pace, so you can win the Time of Possession is 1970/80’s thinking. You win in 2025 by scoring 30+ points a game. All the offensive weapons are back and puts the clamps on Grizzard and the offense…that is insanity!

Joe and fans are delusional if you think the Glazers are going to run it back with Bowles as HC. It is ownership malpractice if the Glazers bring him back for a 5th season! That is franchise suicide.

Barring a miraculous turn around, and maybe a couple wins in the playoffs, Bowles will be unemployed right after the Bucs last game of the 2025 season! That is a guarantee!

  39. Bucnrs Says:

I rarely comment on here, but the hatred at Rod is completely over the top, I don’t agree with everything anyone post here, but anyone watching the game can see that Baker has not been playing well ever since he got hurt. Hiring Teddy to be our backup has forced Baker to play…. We all saw Teddy play… he doesn’t want to… but we’re stuck with what we have… and anyone hoping we lose is just freaking stupid… go find another team…go Bucs

  40. Bucmeup Says:

Whoever Rod Munch, clearly still mad Trask isn’t around anymore.

People like this guy is why Tampa fans get little respect nationally.

Baker did not single handily lose 3 team games.

Poor game planning and poor execution is what cost the team the games.
The Int Sunday was 100% on ME13 he broke off his route.

But hey Baker sucks! Where Trask right.

  44. westernpennafan Says:

WaWwaWa the arrogant Tampa troll fair weather fans have an easy target excoriating Baker and Todd.

These same horse flies have been jamming the airwaves with their negative bashing for every little mistake. But these guys have never been Baker or Todd ‘s corners anyway.

Therefore what real Buc fan really gives a flying bleep for their opinions.
Something is definitely been bothering Baker but you don’t need to be rocket scientist to figure it out. From pre season on the team rocked by personnel loss among the starters. They got through the first half on attrition and Baker carrying the load. But the guys were out for weeks and months and didn’t play. Baker was beat up too in game after game but he had to play through . Ever hear the term battle fatigue. For the last half dozen games Baker has had the 1000 yd stare,

Now he is getting the boys back but you don’t fine tune a juggernaut in 2 weeks.

Also the defense has acquired an awful propensity to surrender TDs immediately after every Buc score,

Also has anybody noticed that the other teams receivers seem to be running wild and free in open space that makes lesser QBs look like instant superstars. Meanwhiles Baker’s receivers always have guys glued to them/

One more thing tired of all this crap about Baker’s inaccuracy down field. there are two reasons for down field inaccuracy. One the passer can’t throw. Or two the team doesn’t practice the long pass. We know from watching that Baker loves the long pass and can put it anywhere when he is sharp.

Maybe without the horses available for the long rainbow game. Not just available receivers but backs and OL. So Grizz puts the O into a conservative shell that has crimped the team especially Baker all year.

I look for that to go away now that the team has some time to practice together. That is why Todd says he is alright.

With their season and their jobs on the Line the Bucs will respond.

  45. Power Of Pewter Says:

If the team can’t execute by week 16, whose fault is that? And why would any sane person expect that staying the course will achieve a different result in week 17? The Glazers can’t be pleased seeing this debacle.

  46. SB~LV Says:

I hope no player gets injured in the remainder of the season…

  47. Steven007 Says:

Rodney, I understand you’re in your element now and loving life due to Baker’s struggles. However, to say that he’s single-handedly lost those games is perhaps the height of irresponsible posting. You know better. Or perhaps you don’t.

  48. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Ownership talked to him already lol, wouldn’t even be surprised if it were after the Falcon game after the rant.

On one hand, we still kind of have a little piece of a sliver of a chance, but on the other hand they’re saving the Glazers so much money on not having to pay too many contract incentives to anyone if anybody at all.

Might even rework some deals or trade the rights to Pittsburgh for Nick Herbig and a day 2 pick. Arizona might be looking for a QB. Indy, Miami, New Orleans, Las Vegas, and Minnesota too. Business side of the NFL can be wild and pretty spontaneous.

  49. Lokog Says:

Dean’s TD before the half cost us just as much as Bakers 4th quarter INT….

Not only did the Bucs’ D not protect the sideline allowing the Panthers to stop the clock on that drive, but blitzing in that situation when the Panthers were already in FG position was an unnecessary gamble – like, were they really going to sack them out of FG range??? Dumb.

Seemed like Carolina started on their own 35 when we kicked off ,, and thanks to penalties we started on our 10,,,, 4 wide the rest of the way ,,, Baker has in last 2 games 7 TDs and 2 Picks ,, we average 34 a game , not that Horse Crap offense run the ball like Army offense ,,,, I say we go for it ,, what do we have to lose , we can’t talk to Kubiak until deep in the playoffs (cause he’s coaching) so we might as well get 1 home playoff game ,,, Run and shoot !

Greg Cosell talked about Baker being ranked 31st QB with a CLEAN Pocket.

As bad as the O line has been with injuries and like Luke having a bad game in Carolina, Baker has not been good with a CLEAN pocket.

When Coen left to go Coach Jax,, he took the Bucs offense with him and now Trevor is looking the best of his career just like Baker last year did.

Todd Bowles has a career losing record.

With the Bucs he is 2 over 500 in the regular season.

It seems that mediocre is ok for Todd.

You know what you get with Todd, the very definition of a AVERAGE coach.

Todd is a decent man, hope the best for him, but the Bucs need a new Leader. simple as that

  58. Pewter Power Says:

What you heard folks was coach it better play it better remix. When you have no fire and you can’t light a fire in your players that’s an indication it’s time to retire from this profession. They don’t need a grandpa they need someone to motivate and inspire. Sarcasm and a sense of humor only gets you so far

  59. Popmike66 Says:

Bowles is right, he’s fine. From what I am hearing is, Bowles will retire or move to the front office as Arians did. At 61 that a better deal than getting fired. The Bucs have a very good roster. Hopefully we get someone in hear who can push this team to greatness before free agency and retirement sets in

  60. gotbbucs Says:

Good. The more confident he is that his plan is working, the better the chance that we see more of the same the next two weeks, and the more it forces ownership hand.

  61. Oregon Buc Says:

I’m keeping an eye on John Harbaugh. I think the Ravens might let him go and grab a defensive coach. He would be option A for us if he comes available, in my opinion. He brings instant credibility, accountability and he’s a Super Bowl winning coach

  68. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Guess I’ve got to be the one to say it, Trevor Lawerence looking good isn’t soley because of Coens scheme, it’s partly because Coen has more to work with in terms of ability with Lawrence at QB than he did Mayfield.

Comparing team records soley off who the HC is incredibly near-sighted, it’s not that simple no matter how you slice it.

Speaking of Coen tho, I wonder what Tennessee is doing with Will Levis this offseason

  69. SC Bucs Fan Says:

There has been a very real regression this season.
Greg Cosell talked about Baker being ranked 31st QB with a CLEAN Pocket.

    ————–

I keep waiting for Baker to heat back up – and I’d still have hope except for what we saw at Carolina. And it wasn’t the INT, it was Bowles ordering Grizz to run the ball and keep it out of Baker’s hands.

In fairness to him, it’s going to be difficult to heat up if he’s not throwing it much. At the same time, when he does throw it, bad things keep happening.

The Dolphins are 26th in rush defense, so expect an even heavier dose of the running game than what we saw against Carolina. And with as much as people think I’m bashing Baker, I think the only chance the Bucs might have — if they make the playoffs — is Baker getting catching fire and going on a hot streak. But that is incredibly unlikely at this point due to Bowles shutting down the offense. However, shutting down the offense was working yesterday, the Bucs were in position to win it until the INT that lost the game, and that’s going to be what Bowles tells Grizz, and orders him to double down on the rushing game.

  78. Rod Munch Says:

    TG Says:
Baker did not single handily lose 3 team games.

    ———–

So wait… Baker single handily won the games earlier this year, did it all on his own, but when he loses games, he’s not at fault, it’s a team game, the coaching, the line, the receivers, everyone else is to blame. Got it.

The whole point about Baker is this

Greg Cosell talked about Baker being ranked 31st QB with a CLEAN Pocket.

With all the crap that has gone on with injuries and curious play calling by Grizz or even Bowles taking the air out of the ball.
Baker just is not the same guy this year since the Detroit game,

And this team needs him to do his part.

Early season late game magic by Baker has dissapeared for whatever reason.

  81. MelvinJunior Says:

It would not even be an ‘interesting’ hire. Far from it. Not even in the least. It would be another weak, desperate hire. While, showing everyone, it’s ALL HE’s (JL) GOT. He’s got NOTHING. Seriously… WHO would ever have ANY amount of confidence or faith in LICKT having enough SENSE, instincts, and competence to even be able to recognize (much less hire) the ‘right’ man for the job!? I don’t ‘who’ truthfully, would!? Hell, HE already allowed one ELITE HC to walk-out the door just this past offseason… Even, when “The Guy” was right there staring him in HIS FACE. Seriously. Lickt hasn’t the FIRST CLUE about what the hell he’s doin. Please.

  83. Jason Anthony Sturgess Says:

Rod Munch anyone who stated Kyle Trask should be the starter over Baker Mayfield should not be permitted to post on Joe Bucks Fan. Baker Mayfield followed the idiot game plan. It’s hard to oass for 200 yards when the idiot Grizzard hardly calls for any passes more than 10 yards the few times Baker passes. The interception was Evans fault. Baker is not the reason the Bucs are losing games. Just for posterity who do you want the Bucs to trade for or draft that would be an improvement over Baker? All you yahoos who want to replace Baker haven’t named anyone who the Bucs could obtain.

  84. Defense Rules Says:

Dang Rod we gotta win !! The Bucs have alll the talent they need they just have to quit making mistakes !!

I’m still pulling for our Buccaneers!!

    ———–

I’ve said it all year, wait until the end of the year, if the Bucs get healthy they could go on a roll. Running out of time, but still got one game left. IF Baker suddenly heats up, which still can happen, the Bucs can outscore anyone.

But we haven’t seen any proof that is going to happen. BUT, the night is darkest right before dawn – not true, but that’s the saying, and who knows, with an inconsistent QB like Baker, he can suddenly catch fire out of the blue. There’s still time left.

  97. Rod Munch Says:

BTW, aren’t the Bucs suspiciously quiet about the stadium situation? The Chiefs and Bears are about to leave their cities, the Bills and Titans are getting a new places, yet the Bucs haven’t really said anything even as RayJay is coming up being 30-years old. I keep waiting for the shoe to drop and some big demand. I mean why in the world would the area spend anything to keep the boring Rays and the dying MLB without first getting the Bucs taken care of? Must be something going on behind the scenes you’d think.

  98. mj Says:

this team has forgot how to win …not sure they could beat the raiders, cardinals or titans let alone miami or carolina it’s just a slow painful death of what was such a promising year

  99. Jeff Says:

Even more clueless than ever. Glazers going to push him out. Force changes Bowles will be too proud to make. Like a new D coordinator with full autonomy.

  101. buccintimeforchanges Says:

    @bonzai – what’s licht’s record without Brady and brady’s FA’s?

Since Brady left…what free agents has Licht signed?

Licht is a fraud living off of Brady.

Some of you are sad AF.

  102. Sal Volatile Says:

It has gotten so bad that the spin language would not believed and the truth simply can’t be told. The only thing left for Bowles is to directly lie to the fans whom he must know will recognize his words as a bald-face-lie. This is not a good situation and is terrible for Bowles for the front office and the team and coaches. The only way to recover from the messaging nightmare is to win the last two games and that appears unlikely. Ownership, you are now fully surrounded by angry Injuns in the box canyon and the cavalry is nowhere to be found.

  103. Kayla Says:

To your poll, somebody named Mod Runch, I think, is either doing a parody routine, has never actually seen an NFL game, or lives in an alternate reality and pops into our universe on occasion to make insane, irrelevant comments.

  104. MadMax Says:

Yeah, its all sunshine, rainbows anf unicorns….lol, keep deceiving just like your pos D scheme, everyone got you figured out dude.

    JASON LICHT WITHOUT BRADY 59-78

    HE SUCKS!!!!!!!

    STOP DEFENDING JASON LICHT

    HE’S A LOSER

  106. Sal Volatile Says:

I just can’t see Baker wanting to stay for any more of this. He can surely see that stability is nowhere in sight. The Rams and Raiders might throw him a big bag. Canales would love to have him I’m sure but Jason likely wouldn’t let that happen. Pittsburg, Miami, and Indianapolis would probably love to get him. Which team(s) is/are most likely to spend the fortune to buy him out ? Raiders vs. Rams.

  107. Larrd Says:

It is not a delusion until your sure it’s true.

Klayton Adams, Dallas OC, might be an interesting candidate if Coach Bowles doesn’t make it!

  108. BUCDADDY Says:

Yeah, we’ll be fine as long as we pass the frickin’ ball more! It’s not that complicated!

  109. stpetebucsfan Says:

Just a thought. NOBODY “single handedly” loses a game. No player nor any coach, GM or owner.

It’s been a TEAM effort. There is so much blame to go around there is no need to find scapegoats.

Todd’s future is pretty clear. Has to reach the playoffs and make it to the Conference final and look decent doing so. SOMEBODY will have to walk the plank and the HC is always the easiest move. Easier to replace one guy and hope the new guy can get more out of the team than to make wholesale roster changes.

I’m OK with all the Todd hate but if you think HE’s the only problem you’re not watching the missed tackles and lack of effort. I realize there can be a fine line between holding the coach responsible for not getting the most out of his players and players who are to blame for not showing up.

Personally though I am a very hard headed Irishman. I haven’t given up at all.
Can’t defend the product any more but I’m still a fan and I’m GRATEFUL with just two games remaining the Bucs still have a shot. They are a very frustrating team at times because they vacillate from very entertaining totally disappointing.

  110. Sal Volatile Says:

Ownership revealed a lack of perceptiveness and judgement when they mishandled the Coen situation. I don’t blame the serpent. He made a good decision regardless of the way he handled it and it is paying off for him.

This situation is now so far out of control that I can now envision Jason leaving.

  111. Jugheadfla2 Says:

Phillip Rivers looking way better than Baker…….jus sayin

  112. stucbuc Says:

Watching the 49ers defense. They had just as many injures as the Bucs. They lost Bosa and Warner for the season, Two PB yet they still produce and currently sit at 10-4. God knows what happened to the Bucs after the bye to fall apart like they did. Doesn’t make any sense

I agree with some, it can’t be just the HC. Special Teams Coach has been a terrible – should have been let go from week 1 and OC Grizz just isn’t ready to be an OC in the nfl. What a shame this season was lost.

I think JL and TB failures along with injures and just plain bad luck was just too much for this team to overcome.

  113. BUCDADDY Says:

Gotta give your qb a chance to win and let him throw the d*mn ball! But if we run, run, run, especially with the lack of production from Bucky, we are destined to lose next week. Throw the d*mn ball, Grizzard. I coached a group of 12-year-olds in flag football and drew up passing schemes that allowed us to throw for more yards than Baker did Sunday in almost every game last season. Hey, Licht!? I love my Bucs that much that maybe I can come in for free and show Grizzard how to get our passing game going since he or Todd can’t seem to figure it out.

  114. Aqualung Says:

Bowles is an idiot. A smart idiot but nevertheless an idiot. Losing out is happening people.

  115. BPBucsfan Says:

That’s because they have Shane Steichen as their head coach and play caller. Grizzard is over his skis and HC clueless on offense.

  116. BPBucsfan Says:

Robert Saleh better defensive coach than our guru.

  117. Sal Volatile Says:

    I hope I’m wrong but Bucs fans may soon be singing the old “HEEHAW” song ;

Gloom despair and agony on me
    Deep dark depression
    Excessive misery

It’s OK though we have had 50 years of rehearsal time with only a couple of breaks.

  118. BPBucsfan Says:

I really thought heading into this season that we could potentially compete for SB. Not with this coaching staff. Look at the first year coaches who have really turned their teams around, Coen, Vrabel, Johnson and 2 that aren’t 1st year with their teams, Payton and Harbaugh. coaching matters!!

  119. BUCDADDY Says:

No duh, Jughead. Rivers has already thrown the ball 17 times. Baker, at one point, was only 14 for 18 in the 4th quarter. That’s too low of passing attempts to win games. We run the ball way too much. It’s not rocket science, bud. Indy brought in an aging Rivers, and they are actually allowing him to take chances, something the Bucs are too chickensh*t to do with Baker. Half these people on here don’t know what they’re talking about. Lol! Maybe if Bucky didn’t stink so bad and averaged more than 3 yards a carry we would win too.

  120. Sal Volatile Says:

Imagine how Robert Hainsey is feeling tonight.

  121. BPBucsfan Says:

I’d say pretty good right about now.

  122. stucbuc Says:

Hey @joebucfan – what do you think of Robert Salah as potential HC?

  123. Sal Volatile Says:

Trevor Lawrence was looking like he might be washed up. Now he’s 12-4. One must think Sean McVay and Les Snead along with Brady, Spytek and Pete Carroll are putting on their thinking caps.

  124. SmokyMountainBucsFan Says:

How about Phillip Rivers? For HEADCOACH?

  125. Sal Volatile Says:

After a lot of thought I conclude the Glazer family is the biggest problem. They are a committee. While they may indeed feel a passion for the game and winning they are incapable of showing that passion. They inherited this team. It is a family asset and likely is managed as just that. There appears to be no singular leader or vision.

Compare that situation to that of Shad Kahn. He really wants to win. He recognized Liam Coen as a winner and did what he had to do to get him. He has made his mistakes (look them up) but he cut his losses quickly and moved on.

The Glazers had the opportunity for improvement but lacked the decisiveness to make a difficult decision. That is the problem with committees. It ain’t gonna change.

  126. BucaneroJim Says:

Grizz is fired end of the season. Glazers keep Bowles as HC. Lich hires Kyle Trask as OC. “Never been a coach, but has called plays in the NFL”

  127. Lakeland Says:

When you lose 3 straight games to crappy teams from the WORST division in NFL History

I’m sorry, but this goes beyond bad coaching
This is all on the players, they should be embarrassed
They all should forfeit their paychecks, they don’t deserve to be paid

How can you lose to the Saints, Falcons, Panthers in consecutive weeks
You are playing like the WORST team in the NFL, you stink, you sucks

You are an embarrassment, a disgrace to yourself and the fanbase

  128. JA Says:

    Watching MNF.
If I didn’t know better I’d think the Colts hired Todd Bowles as their D.C.

  129. Sal Volatile Says:

Excuses were made but Bowles did deserve the mulligans he got for ’22 &’23. Excuses were necessary again in ’24 and he didn’t deserve the mulligan he got. After this year it’s not even Bowles’ fault. It is ownership’s fault.

  130. Outrigger Says:

That TD by Carolina at the end of the half was all on Bowles. There were only 12 seconds left, they were already in FG range. All we had to do was play a deep zone and keep everything in front of us to prevent a deep shot. Instead, Bowles being the poor coach that he is calls a zero blitz with single coverage on their best receiver. This is no doubt the worst coaching staff in the NFL. If we had a good coach like Cohen, Vrabel, Peyton, or Ben Johnson we’d be 12-4 right now.

  131. Aqualung Says:

It was brilliant to let Liam leave for Carolina. It was obvious – apparently the Glazers miscalculated that the Loewbszo was the secret sauce. Instead he’s the not so secret fly in the ointment. The skunk in the woodpile. The maroon in a sea of chartreuse. The blow in the zoo.

    Fire the problem.

  132. Lakeland Says:

    Lol,

The players on the Bucs roster sucks
I said it before the season started
They have one of the LESS talented Rosters in the NFL

They also have piss-poor coaching and a terrible GN

  143. FortMyersDave Says:

Rod Munch mentioned the stadium situation. Well RJS is getting an upgrade as one of the conditions for landing the National Champioship game in a few years. I suspect the Bucs are #1 in line for renovations, followed by the Bolts (remember that the Ice Palace/Amalie Arena/Whatever it is named now) is also 30 years old. the Rays are a distant third in the pecking order but seem to be fixated on doing something with the HCC land on Dale Mabry, we shall see. I think the Glazers will want a $1 Billion dollar renovation at RJS which would be cheaper than a new stadium but still a sizeable amount of coin. The CIT expires next year so it will be interessting to see wwhere the coin comes from……

  144. Lakeland Says:

    Jmarkbic,

I guarantee you, there will be a high turnover after this season
I mean players, coaches, front office personnel

This team was 6-2 with the easiest schedule remaining
They won one game by 3 points against a 3 win team

    No excuses
    A Change is Coming

  145. rocket Says:

People who make excuses for injuries, well, all you have to do is take a look at the 49ers. That team experienced injuries every bit as bad as the Bucs and yet here they are at 11-4. In arguable one of the toughest divisions in football. Good coaches and GMs know how to adjust. They find player, make trades, add quality depth and put players in position to succeed. What does Licht do? He sits on his hands and re-signs his own players like they are pro bowlers. How many front 7 defensive players drafted by Licht have made the pro bowl? I think the answer is just one. Just one across how many years? This team cannot draft front 7 defensive players (Licht), or cannot develop them (Bowles) – but likely its probably both. Licht sitting back in October with all the accolades coming in to him (making him think he’s a genius) and decides to hold pat. Plenty of people out there who would have been upgrades on defense – but Licht wants to hold onto his 4th and 5th round draft pics. This team has shown no improvement over the last 4 years. As we see in SF, good general mgmt and good coaching finds a way. GM and coaches need to go if Bowles doesn’t make a big run (win 2 play-off games).

  146. David Says:

    5-1
    2-7

Is that how the Baker Boi(s) are going to spin it if he’s out the door after next year — that he didn’t lose his job, but he wanted out. LOL!

Anywho, hopefully Baker actually gets on track vs the Dolphins and wins the next two, then catches fire for the playoffs. It still can happen. Very literally time left, but it’s possible.

Rod Munch mentioned the stadium situation. Well RJS is getting an upgrade as one of the conditions for landing the National Champioship game in a few years.

    ———-

I’m pretty sure that was already completed – it was part of the package of new scoreboards, and upgrades in the club seats, etcs. But by NFL standards, it was sort of just buying a few years, even with as ridiculous as it sounds for like hundred million or whatever it costs.

Also, based on everything costs now, I think a renovation of RayJay is likely more like a $2B job, again, sounds ridiculous, but based on the cost of things now, and building in a few years, it’s going to be very expensive. One positive thing though is how amazing the Lightning made Ice Palace, to think that place was built before Raymond James and how barren it was, it’s an incredible place to watch a game now, and wasn’t very expensive at all compared to building new. For RayJay, I’d say call in the same people that did the Ice Palace and let them come up with something. One big thing is having a much larger pirate ship and more theming, I hope they really go over the top in that regard, make it a destination with a Buccaneers village much closer to what Disney does. People will claim that isn’t needed, we just need concrete stands and beer MANNN, but when building something for 30-years, with the entertainment options out there, you need attractions to get people out of their homes. Anyways, spending the $3M or whatever the current pirate ship cost nearly 30-years ago was a brilliant move, and something people said at the time wasn’t needed and was a gimmick, and it worked out fantastic.

  149. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Joe:
    Glazers don’t work that way

    And how’s that working out?

  150. Kenton Smith Says:

rocket, injuries plagued the 49ers last year worse than this year. They won 7 games. Sucked. Didn’t replace the coach. In 9 years Shanahan is 88-70. About 2 more wins per year than losses. We’re dead set on replacing our coach for results rivaling the 49ers this past decade. I’m angry at Coach Bowles but I’m really angry that noone outside of this team’s locker room is going to let us know what really went on to dive bomb this team. Whatever it was must of been a real doozy.

  151. Bucschamp Says:

So profanity laden interview last time didn’t work, we still lost. Now just I’m fine lolol.

  152. BucU Says:

Bowles has literally jumped the shark. I’m embarrassed he’s associated with my team much less HC/DC. He’s a FAILURE. Worse he’s a failure who thinks it’s everybody else’s fault but his. Get this bum out of this organization Glazers.
Nice work giving the bum an unwarranted extension for no reason last offseason.
It shows you morons know nothing as well. I despise the 2025 Buccaneers.

  153. Cardiac kidz Says:

Obviously last year we should have promoted Liem and let Todd go.

  154. UGotRobbed Says:

  155. Becky Says:

Rod Munch you are as delusional as Todd Bowles. We can’t tackle anyone, We can’t pressure anyone. We can’t cover anyone. And we can’t protect our QB. How are any of those things Baker’s Mayfield fault? You are nothing but a pathetic troll who has so little football knowledge that the only way you can hang on an adult football comment forum is to show your ignorance like your boyfriend Oneilbuc. You obviously have no life other than being on here all day every day trying to prove how little you know about football. You are an embarrassment to yourself. Baker is more of man in his front tooth than you will ever be. You know what they say about the line between love and hate. Your undeserved hate for Baker makes me think you actually got a big old crush.
