Joe really has enjoyed watching the Raise The Flags documentary on Amazon Prime. It’s a new 10-part series on the 50-year history of the Bucs, minus a lot of impactful happenings. But Joe is not complaining. It’s a very informative and entertaining watch.
One documentary moment that Joe thinks is revelant today as the Bucs kick off against the Panthers in Charlotte, with both teams tied atop the NFC South, is Chris Godwin talking about the 2021 season.
It’s clear in Raise The Flags that, internally, the Bucs organization believes their 2021 team was better than the 2020 Super Bowl club and perhaps was the best in franchise history.
But injuries came late in the season along with Antonio Brown’s mental breakdown.
Godwin took a nasty shot from the slimy Saints to his knee and was lost late in 2021. He’s seen in the documentary talking about how teams that win Super Bowls usually are “the hottest and the healthiest.”
Today, the Bucs are an ice cold team sitting at 7-7 after a 5-1 start. But the team is getting much healthier.
The taste 10 days ago of what receivers Godwin, Mike Evans, Jalen McMillan and Emeka Egbuka and can do together on the field still lingers in Joe’s mouth. And today the Bucs expect back more starters on defense from injuries and 46-catch tight end Cade Otton.
Baker Mayfield was off the injury report leading up to today’s game for the first time in months.
The Bucs have too many injuries to reach “healthiest” status. But they could get close, and if they can shake the stench of their defense, they might be able to get hot, too, enought to outscore opponents and enter the postseason on a three-game winning streak.

I will watch this after the game in the next day or two, I want Bucs to win and Bowles to be fired, simple as that.

Documentary so way better than I thought it would be. Honestly, I didn’t think the Bucs had enough content to make it entertaining. Really eye opening to see the thoughts of all past and present players, coaches, GMs, and the owners

I think today is when things turn around. If they lose today, the season is over. Not mathmatically, but for all practical purposes the season is over. They simply have to come out today and dominate the Panters.

Cannons , How can you want the Bucs to win and Todd Bowles to be fired ? If they are winning, Todd Bowles is doing his job .

Bowles is not getting fired if they win the Division .. Licht knows he failed getting talent on defense and the Injuries were bad on Offense…Rick Stroud said that was the vibe he got .

I’m not confident that Bowles keeps his job unless we win a playoff game. Anything less is not arrow pointing horizontal or down. I’d much rather us move on. What is his excuse for his poor defense? It can’t be injuries this year.

Let’s catch fire, go 3-0, and be a team that is feared in the playoffs. Things can change that fast. Will it? Yeah probably not. If not – please fire Bowles and get an offensive minded HC.

31 -28 Bucs. The D is still in Todd’s hands, but the pride of Tampa Bay, Evans, is the catalyst that’s been missing from this offense. Jalen & a TE will score. Ok, just trying to manifest, but it feels right
