Rondé Barber: Todd Bowles’ Seat Is Not Hot

December 24th, 2025

Team Glazer members.

This sure is a fat lump of coal in the stocking of most serious Bucs fans.

Joe hates sharing this news and destroying people’s holiday season, but Bucs insider/employee/pal of Buccaneers Ring of Honor general manager Jason Licht said today on his streaming WFLA show that Todd Bowles is not in significant danger of losing his job as Buccaneers head coach.

Barber did not appear to be impaired.

“Look, no, we’re not in the market [for a new head coach,]” Barber said. “We’ve won three straight division titles. I get the feeling that change is not coming. Change is coming for a lot of teams, but I don’t think it’s [coming for Tampa Bay]. I’d say his seat is probably a little uncomfortable, but it ain’t hot.”

Barber went on to say he’s not overly impressed with the young offensive minds being talked about as future head coaches, including Seattle playcaller Klint Kubiak, who has a heck of a pedigree. Barber says nobody out there now has shown he’s the next Liam Coen.

“Careful what you wish for is all I’m saying with these young guys that seem hot,” Barber said.

Asked to state his level of confidence that Todd Bowles returns as head coach next year, Barber replied as follows:

“Pretty high. Pretty high. I’ll leave it at that,” Barber said. “I could be deadass wrong, but it’s pretty high. Who are you going to get?”

Barber had plenty of other thoughts about why the Bucs shouldn’t change coaches. Joe thought it was telling that never once in his four minutes of chatter on the subject did Barber say Bowles is a good head coach and/or that the thought of change is preposterous on merit.

That reminded Joe of Baker Mayfield twice being asked about fans wanting Bowles gone and Mayfield, too, never responded by saying Bowles is a good coach.

Shouldn’t that be the first and easy response when anyone is asked about a coach they want to keep?

Barber acknowledged that Team Glazer has not called him to advise him that Bowles will be fired.

How down are Bucs fans on the current team? Joe will defer to Monday’s flash poll. Most fans don’t want the team to make the playoffs.

  1. LVMYBUCS Says:

Picture tells you all you need to know. DUH!!!

  2. Mikeinlutz Says:

[Not only is that charge not fair, it’s inaccurate — Joe] And yes this team should not be the playoffs. There is so much dead wood on this team you would run out of gas for chain saw cutting it.

  3. Bee Says:

They gotta spin this debacle somehow. Have players associated with the team say everything is fine with the leadership during a 1-7 slide after the bye.

Tell me, how do division titles help teams go deep in the playoffs? Last time the Bucs won the chip they didnt win the division. Smh…but do you really expect Ronde to say anything other than this?

  4. Jmarkbuc Says:

“ Who are you gonna get?”

A ham sandwich would be more motivational

  5. Stpetematt Says:

Crazy “fans” don’t want the Bucs to make the playoffs. Absurd.

  6. Tony Says:

Only way it wouldn’t be hot is if he’s gonna be gone or unless he’s staying already. I don’t know if everyone can deal with this the inconsistency anymore though.

  7. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Kubiak is just a name, he’s been with 5 teams since 2021 and is just 38 year old. Only reason that name rings any bells is because of his dad Gary who was a hell of an offensive mind in his own right. Pedigree? Or his dad stepping down as Vikings OC and Klint getting that job soon after, that’s how he got his start as an OC in the NFL.

I’d say go after Kingsbury, but doubt he wants to work with Baker because of their history.

    Chip Kelly for OC ’26

  8. Bucsfan951 Says:

“Careful what you wish for is all I’m saying with these young guys that seem hot,”

So let’s stay with a coach that obviously isn’t the answer? 🙄 it would be the biggest kick to the groin to many buccaneer fans if the Glazers decide to keep Todd. Good grief, thanks for ruining my Christmas haha

  9. gp Says:

    Barber
Who are you going to get?”
    *****************************************************8
That’s my greatest concern. There’s nobody available worth replacing him with.

Had the Glazers made the decision after he gave up with time on the clock in the playoff loss to the lions a couple of years ago, we would have had a good shot at Harbaugh (Chargers).
I don’t see anyone even close to that now.

  10. SB~LV Says:

Hopefully what that means is that HE DOES NOT HAVE A SEAT!
    🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

  11. Rick Says:

I’ve been a fan since the beginning. If Toilet Bowles returns I’m not wasting $ on Sunday Ticket. Let’s lose out. Get the best pick and schedule next year. Plus a competent coach

  12. Tony Says:

Somebody should put an airbag on Todd’s office chair & then when he sits down in it he’ll fly up in the air then.

  13. Lakeland Says:

The Glazers are not going to fire Bowles, Jason Licht will have to fire him. And Licht job is on the line, as much as Bowles job. The Glazers should do as the NBA Denver Nuggets owner did. He fired their Championship winning HC and GM a few days before the playoffs.

The Glazers need to do exactly what the Nuggets did

Fire Licht and Bowles, their time is up

  14. SB~LV Says:

    Did Ronde really say
There is not that next Liam Cohen ….
That implies that OBP was left holding the bag !
This conversation was happening this time last year!
    🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

  15. MadMax Says:

    of course lol

  16. IrishTony Says:

News Flash his seat’s not hot because he is retiring!!! Wake up folks!

  17. Pewter Power Says:

Mike Evans would have to say I’m not playing next to a defense like this for the glazers to figure it out. they’d still let him walk and risk losing even more games to keep Bowles

  18. MadMax Says:

I think im just gonna walk away from this team if he’s back…..i’ll check in now and then to laugh, but i have better things to do than follow a turd going down the toilet.

  19. Greg-therealone Says:

I love Ronde… But that’s ridiculous from one side to the other. First of all the fanbase screaming for blood has definitely not gone unnoticed. Secondly, they invested a lot of effort in the 50th anniversary. As far as the candidates? Did anyone in the league other than Jacksonville think Liam Coen was going to take them this far, this fast? No. Mike Vrabel had a 54% win/loss with the Titans and look at what is happening there. There are more but… whats the point. You don’t know. Sometimes the message goes stale. You have to wonder about Mike Tomlin.

  20. Tucker Says:

Careful what you wish for? Wtf this team is losing to the worst teams in the league which happen to be in their own division becareful what you wish for as if we are not at the bottom haven’t won a game in the month of December be quiet rande just be quiet.

  21. Let em bake Says:

They understand the following: losing your guards is huge. Lack of pass rush puts secondary under duress. Linebacking core needs overhaul. Malcontents will be shown the door. Positives: oc has year under belt. Receiving core will be healthy. Guards will be healthy . Licht will address pass rush ( bengals edge star?) David walker healthy. I would offer a caveat. Make salah an offer…stud defensive mind. He could lure a few defense free agents.

  22. Colonel Angus Says:

The dreaded vote of confidence, definitely means he’s on the hot seat.

  23. ‘74 Bucs Fan Says:

Retire, get fired, get down sized, whatever. Another year of Bowles will lead to a pile of empty seats at RJ stadium. I think the Glaziers know this and certainly don’t want lower revenue and to look like fools – which they absolutely will. Keeping Bowles is the wrong answer. I could handle a new coach, some player changes and some growing pains for a year. Can not handle another year of middle of the road Bowles.

Win out, win a playoff game and maybe, maybe Bowles keeps his job. Otherwise – what is the point?

  24. ‘74 Bucs Fan Says:

Ronde – is the arrow pointing up? Go ask the Glaziers which way it’s pointing then get back to us.

9-7 and a playoff win or heads should roll. Period end of story.

  25. Whatevs Says:

    Seriously.

    Anyone is better than Todd.

Jason wants to keep Todd so he can protect is own rear

  26. Deeboooo Says:

    lol….

  27. Whatevs Says:

Oh and Todd is not going to retire unless that is his only option,

Dude is getting paid to be terrible, easiest job in the NFL.

  28. Lakeland Says:

I don’t believe the Bucs can get a decent coach, with Licht as the GM.

Coen accepted the Jags job, after they fired the GM
I don’t believe Coen would have accepted the Bucs job, with Licht as GM

  29. unbelievable Says:

Joe thought it was telling that never once in his four minutes of chatter on the subject did Barber say Bowles is a good head coach and/or that the thought of change is preposterous on merit.

That reminded Joe of Baker Mayfield twice being asked about fans wanting Bowles gone and Mayfield, too, never responded by saying Bowles is a good coach.

I mean, do you want them to lie to you? Bowles is a mediocre coach who can’t get out of his own way. He’s a “defensive mastermind”, who doesn’t prioritize an edge rush, and has a terrible defense… What exactly would be considered “good”? That he hired a great offensive coordinator last year? Okay…

  30. BucsFanSince1996 Says:

Team Glazer has won two Lombardi Trophies since 2002 and I have zero doubt they want to win another. Only two teams in the NFL (Chiefs & Patriots) have won more than two since then. I trust that they’ll do what is needed to address the issues on the team.

  31. Ugotrobbed Says:

Might be time for me to start turning my attention to the north (Jags)! At least they try and make moves to improve their team! Bucs seam to be content with mediocrity! Besides, they are closer geographically to me anyway. I was born and raised in Tampa and have been a HUGH fan since their inception…just getting tired of the same old same old!

  32. Tired of this sh☆t Says:

If he’s back next season me and thousands of fans just like me won’t be…that’s not a threat that’s s promise and I don’t give 2 craps what he does the rest of this season.

  33. ElioT Says:

So barely .500 is going to be the standard?

    Got it.

  34. Curse of Gruden Says:

Ronde is just another Glazer shill.

  35. BucaneroJim Says:

America spends zillions of dollars on football each year, from grade school to the pros… and this is the best available? There should be a plethora of solid coaches and players waiting in line to be hired. No one decent to replace Bowles? No one great to back up Baker. Embarrassing.

  36. Tom Petty Says:

Fire all the coaches and move the team to a new city in a different state 👍🏼

  37. Defense Rules Says:

If I were the Glazers, with billions at risk, I’d be evaluating this coaching staff REAL HARD. Maybe though Ronde is looking at this from a different perspective than us ‘fans’.

I look at this coaching staff & have come to the conclusion that the OC needs to be replaced. Learning on-the-job is one thing, but what I’ve seen lately is a very young, inexperienced coordinator who seemingly has no answers for the really critical times in games when winning or losing is really at stake.

The DC needs to be replaced. This Bucs’ defense is in freefall, and getting worse not just every year, but every game.

And the S/Ts coach needs to be replaced. It’s gotten so bad that the Bucs now kick it into the end zone and give opposing teams an excellent starting position at the 35 yard line. All it takes is about them gaining about 30 yards, possibly less, to get a FG.

Who hired them all? The HC, and if ALL of your key coaches are under-performing, and you’re apparently doing nothing about it, then maybe YOU should be fired along with them.

  38. RVATom Says:

JBF asks “shouldn’t that be the 1st response”

No, unless someone ask the question what kind of Coach is TBowles? Otherwise they’re answering the question that’s asked.

  39. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

“Barber says nobody out there now has shown he’s the next Liam Coen.”

I’m sorry, but there is better than Coen available. The Offensive Coordinator of the Chiefs (Nagy) for one.

Teams take out OCs all the time. It’s about time we do the same.

    So Barber is likely wrong.

  40. JohnQCitizen Says:

    Gruden

  41. gotbbucs Says:

Won three straight division titles with a .500 record in the worst division in the league. Get out of here with this nonsense. My the standards are low for this guy.

  42. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Mikeinlutz Says:
“There is so much dead wood on this team you would run out of gas for chain saw cutting it.”

That’s is a total crock. We have a lot of great talent on this team. The issue is the coaching.

  43. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    ElioT Says
“So barely .500 is going to be the standard?

    Got it.”

Just over it. Or .500 exactly if they lose the next 2 games.

Baker has a better record. Licht has a great record.

(going by the last 5 years)

  44. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    JohnQCitizen Says:
    “Gruden”

Spoken like a fan who wasn’t here last time he was head coach.

  45. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Whatevs Says
“Jason wants to keep Todd so he can protect is own rear”

You are always so full of it. You might think that, but I’d guess Jason wants to win. Period. If the Glazers tell him they want a change and they want someone with a very high chance of success no matter the price…he’ll get someone.

  46. Defense Rules Says:

Let em bake … ‘They understand the following: losing your guards is huge. Lack of pass rush puts secondary under duress. Linebacking core needs overhaul. Malcontents will be shown the door.’

Lots of EXCUSES, but those aren’t valid REASONS. Every one of those (guards, pass rush, LBs, malcontents) was CONTROLLABLE by competent team management.

Licht went incredibly cheap when it comes to DEPTH. Once the starters began getting hurt & missing games, we had to plug in guys who had no business even being on the team. And it cost us dearly as we’ve all seen.

There were pass rushers available who could’ve helped us, but JL spent $14 mil instead on a lightweight (6’1″ # 240 lbs) who underperformed all last year. Didn’t really do any better this year, did he. Go figure.

The ILB corps was a disaster last season & it’s gotten far worse this year. The only one I’d possibly. bring back next year is SVD … as a backup.

And malcontents need to be dealt with in real-time, not letting their poor play & bad attitudes fester in the locker room until the season ends. Leaders LEAD.

  47. BucaneroJim Says:

    DR

Bowles is practicing for his new job in the UFL. They start on the 30 line.

  48. HC Grover Says:

Fans on the run. But he is right. The hot seat should be the Glazers.
And the first fan said to the second one there I hope you’re having fun
    Fans on the run.

  49. buc4evr Says:

A lot of players on the defense need to either be demoted or cut. The Bucs really need to clean house, both coaches and players on the D. Licht has drafted some pretty poor players on the D that should not be starting. I got a kick out seeing SVD’s interview yesterday, what a joke. Seems the Bucs are hyping all of Licht’s draft mistakes. But the fans that watch the games know the truth. BTW, keeping Bowles is just stupid, the guy is a clown show. Gruden would do a much better job.

  50. Durango 95 Says:

Made a guess a few days back that I thought that Bowles might likely retire at the end of the Bucs season. Hodad, I think it was, made the point that Bowles has big dollars left on his contract and would stick around to collect through 2028. Good Point. No doubt. Makes sense. That could serve to keep him hanging around.

But..I made the guess (prediction?) and I’m going stick with it. I only hope it’s not just wishful thinking on my part. Maybe it’s finally hit home with him that he’s just not capable of winning in this league and the money alone would not be worth the embarrassment.

The Glazers are on the clock.

  51. BucaneroJim Says:

    Grover… and another song.

On, no one knows what goes on behind closed doors.

  52. BucaneroJim Says:

    *Oh*

  53. Lastbeing Says:

Ronde is just saying all the right things guys. The most unfortunate thing is he’s right… as long as we win the division Todd will get another opportunity next year. Welcome to a mediocre organization. Thank the universe for tom Brady because this might be my last super I will see in my lifetime. Ownership and GM prove me wrong and us will shut up. Maybe they just care about making money?!

  54. johnnythemoon Says:

Been a Fan since 1976 and no matter who the Coach is I will still be a fan. Fan means Fanatic.. Bucs are like Family may not always like what family does but always there.

  55. Lastbeing Says:

Ronde is just saying all the right things guys. The most unfortunate thing is he’s right… as long as we win the division Todd will get another opportunity as HC. Welcome to a mediocre club/organization. Thanking the universe for tom Brady in year 1 bringing us our last Super Bowl I will see in my lifetime. Ownership and GM prove us wrong. Maybe they just care about making money?!

  56. Vegasbuc Says:

Fire Todd….. tired of the up and down Seasons every year because of this guy

  57. Vegasbuc Says:

    Fire Todd

  58. Adam Says:

I’m so unimpressed with the Glazers as owners at this point
and I’m really starting to lose respect for them as owners of the Bucs.
I want owners that make the tough decisions and put their
organization in a position to win. if that means taking things in
a different direction, so be it. We’re small market team
but the problem is our leadership/front office is small market minded.
It’s like they’re happy just to win the division in the absolute dumpster
Fire NFC South. That way everyone keep their job and we look towards next year.

And another thing, I’m not buying Barbers “who are they going to get it, there’s no one out there. B*llsh*t. Theres plenty of coaches out there. Or maybe they don’t want to dismantle their comfortable good ol boys front office.

  59. Vodka & Milk Says:

Why did my comment just deleted lol? I didn’t say anything bad

  60. DungyDance Says:

I like that Joe asked the question. But Ronde is on the team payroll – he’s not going to say anything inflammatory.

  61. SBucs Says:

Ronde was a great player for the Bucs. Todd has been a mediocre coach for the Bucs. Todd has reached his ceiling as a head coach. So-So regular season and one game in the playoffs and out. That’s it. If the owners are satisfied, that’s on them. the fans are not satisfied. They want a coach that cane go further with his players progressing during the season and not Todd regressing. The fans will accept a new coach growing into the job. The fans won’t accept another Todd mid-season swoon. I think Ronde is wrong to think there’s no better alternative to Todd. No one on Todd’s staff will get another job after this year. On another subject: Todd and Jason have kept Bullock on the team after the head butt. Says a lot about them doesn’t it… no accountability.

  62. jimmy Says:

nothing but gas coming from one buc place the last couple of days while they circle the wagons trying to sell some tickets.

up next TJ rives with 10 reasons why todd bowles is a top 10 coach

  63. Bucmeup Says:

If this season doesn’t epitomize a massive dumpster fire on all levels then I’m not sure what would qualify for Ronde

  64. Usedtocould Says:

    Bummer

  65. Lefty R Says:

Okay, I guess you can’t post You Tube links here even if clean

    Okay, I will try this

Is Barber sure or just ‘pretty’ sure?
Like # 9 in Thunderball in the big meeting?
    Or Mustafa in Austin Powers?

  66. buc4evr Says:

Agreed Jimmy, BucsHQ is a gas plant emitting the world’s biggest farts and gaslighting fans that their S**t doesn’t stink. Bowles and Licht need to go.

  67. unbelievable Says:

@DR – you nailed. The coaching in all 3 phases of the game has been sub par this year, and ESPECIALLY so in the back half of the season, when teams should be playing their best football.

Instead, we’ve been playing our worst.

  68. Obvious One Says:

FAKE NEWS! Was he snickering under his breath or something? The Glazers SURELY UNDERSTAND that keeping him WILL COST MORE than sending him packing.

All team owners receive I believe it’s in the neighborhood of 300 million per year NO MATTER their Win/Lose record. If they Don replace Bowles it will show the WORLD that Clearly “they have No Passion” for this team! Could it be true? Could they be disinterested AND Willing to lose Massive revenue because of the 300 million? That number is a small piece of the pie. If we were in the Winners Circle the total revenue Would be between 600 million and a BILLION Dollars! Are they REALLY WILLING TO LOSE THE INTEREST AND RESPECT OF THE CUSTOMERS THAT PAY THOSE PRICES?

They couldn’t possibly be that stupid! Or….. could they? May end I’m “Over Estimating them….. BY A LONG SHOT!

  69. Deeboooo Says:

How do you break it down if you never really built it up since our last trophy?

Maybe that’s the thought of the owners

  70. Mike Johnson Says:

God Please..Aren’t you Buc Fans sick of Mediocrity? I am. Bowles gotta go. Hell, hire him as a college coach or something. But get rid of him.

  71. ATrain Says:

    Cool

Tix prices will be much lower next year

  72. BrianBucs Says:

I think the decision to keep or not keep Bowles will show how much power and influence Bruce Arians still has at One Buc

  73. Redzone Says:

Ugh -,I’ve been a fan since I was little throwing the football with my dad before games at the big sombrero

Their gaslighting and evasive tactics when it comes to transparency along with blatant smug disrespect for fans combined with the disillusionment of multi millionaire athletes and the gut wrenching decision to piss away the innovation of Liam Coen for this washed up never was may just finally force me away

What a shame this franchise could be so special

  74. Inwoodjeremy Says:

Barber says he’s seats not hot, Winfield says he’s playing for Todd’s job. Sean Mcvay deserves credit for prolonging Todd’s coaching career by taking the foot off the gas pedal. Otherwise he would have been ran out of town the next day. Now he has a chance to retire. DR has it sumed up in his previous comment. Todd created his own circus.

  75. Tony Says:

    @Mike Johnson

Definitely. You’d think after awhile even they’d get tired of the inconsistency.

  76. Inwoodjeremy Says:

Who is out there that is better he asks…. I’m pretty sure a random doof can print out 100 plays on a sheet and randomly point at one and be 2-8.

  77. Baking with the next one Says:

With the team as healthy as they are to be getting worse shows Todd lost his team. It shouldn’t take a whole year to learn the scheme.

I believe coaches and players already packed their bags. They have their wife’s already booking vacations at the Dominican Republic. 🇩🇴

    What a weird season. SMH

  78. Tye Says:

How long until the Jaguars play in Orlando?

At least we know their HC is 10x the HC in his first year than Bowels could only dream of in his way to many years as HC!

  79. 941bucsfan Says:

Listen the reality is all the bucs “fans” on this site know its true. His seat is not hot. Look joe. There is a reason why these guys voted that they didnt want the bucs to make the playoffs. And it has nothing to do with prime time embarrassment as Joe attempted to alude to. Why would fans be embarassed from their couch?.

Reality is the reason bucs fans dont want the bucs in the playoffs is because they are TERRIFIED the bucs will win a playoff game and 1000% secure bowles another year. I know it, joe knows it, and every fan on this website knows it.

  80. orlbucfan Says:

    Yawn……..where are the genuine fans?

  81. Redzone Says:

The only way things will change is if they vote to eliminate divisions and do playoff seeding by straight records

Divisions are an antiquated concept in this day and age

They voted against it last offseason but it might come up again

  82. Allen Lofton Says:

Injuries have hurt the Bucs with 15 starting playing out for games and Mayfield is playing with his shoulder hurt.

If the Bucs make the playoffs they are not getting too far. BOWLES keeps his job another year and hopefully less injuries with a good free agent pass rusher to make the Bucs more potent.

  83. TG Says:

I can say chances are extremely high of 24 fewer club seats being sold, if we do not get a new HC.

I’m sure I’m not the only one.

  84. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

“The only way things will change is if they vote to eliminate divisions and do playoff seeding by straight records

Divisions are an antiquated concept in this day and age

They voted against it last offseason but it might come up again.”

    I would truly hate that.

  85. Adrnagy Says:

The issue with Bucs vs other teams HC and injuries imo is the quality of depth players. Also rookies. None have step up and made a splash. Maybe parrish and ebuka a few games. While brasswell, LHall , kancey , Dennis , haason , Zion have gone south. And not forget punter Dixon. This falls in the GM more than the HC.

  86. BocaBucs Says:

Just saw this! Are you f’in kidding? WTF The coaching, or should I say, lack there of, is the absolute top of the list for this forgettable season….. team never comes out hot, night games, after bye weeks, DIVISION games, never prepared, patented ‘prevent defense ‘ (if we dare to get ANY kind of ‘substantial’ lead (+12 – 18), dare I mention “special teams” (obviously Bowles “f” buddy), then there’s “practices” in jamy’s, OMG are we playing a rookie, or god forbid, a backup QB, and lest we forget dropping DE’s to cover the opponents best receivers/ tight-ends, or dare I mention- coaching tackling, lining up NOT offsides, tackling, coach up your QB to get rid of the ball 2.5 seconds+ and not give up 10-12 yards, tackling, coach uo tightens how to block, have I mentioned coaching tackling, how about breaking out of your cigar store Indian stance when your defense absolutely misses every assignment- giving up a 30- 40 yard TD, sorry, I have to join my friend’s Christmas Eve dinner, so I, unfortunately have to conclude my response …. i’ll continue later…

  87. BocaBucs Says:

Oh, did I mention coaching tackling………

  88. Redzone Says:

Yeah – players are good draft picks but they seldom improve

That’s on coaching – and Todd was a secondary player so the secondary should be playing lights out

Also the no talent excuse is horrible- you’re telling me Todd has no say in who we pick or signed off? Are he and Jasons office in different buildings?

Do you remember Todd saying “what’s up 3-tech” when he called to draft Logan Hall? He absolutely wanted Hall and anointed him out the gate

Name one defensive player this Guru has developed

  89. #1bucsfan Says:

Are fans pissed of course but most fans aren’t thinking straight and honestly a lot are over dramatic. Just because we get a new coach you think we automatically are going to be better ? Sorry like barber said be careful what you wish for. Look we were so close a few years ago against Detroit. Same Bowles team less talent. What I don’t want to see is that we fire Bowles and we go thru another lost decade. Maybe some fans have forgot I havnt. I still want this team to make the playoffs and real fan would. Also I’m not confident but man they could flip a switch and burn everyone

  90. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I remember when the thought of winning 3 division titles was a pipe dream…

  91. FortMyersDave Says:

Barber is a OBP insider so he is being fed this info by someone high up the food chain. So, I seriously hope that Todd is planning to retire or that the Glazers will surprise him with a promotion to a desk at OBP. If Bowles comes back, ticket sales will crater including corporate sales. You would think making coin matters to the Glazers….. Joe, are corporate/ticket sales a big percentage of the annual team income? Bowles has to be a drag on that as well as team merchandise sales unless the Bucs start selling paper bags….

I remember when the thought of winning 3 division titles was a pipe dream…

UMMMM YEAAAAA, ITS THE NFC SOUTH THE BIGGEST RETARD DIVISION IN FOOTBALL, THE YUCS WOULD NOT EVER MAKE THE PLAYOFFS IN A REAL DIVISION WHERE YOU HAVE TO WIN 11 GAMES OR MORE

  94. BuccoBruce Says:

My biggest issue with this coaching staff and I mean all of it. Name me one player who has gotten better since drafted under Todd Bowles? I can think of only one Tykee Smith. Genuinely one…

Did you sit on Santa’s lap this year? I bet this is a 10 year old wearing a candy cane onesie putting out milk and cookies for Santa.

  96. Ex-Browns02 Says:

Have any of you guys watched the video “Josh Grizzard Looks Ahead to Miami”?

This guy is a rock-pounding moron.

“Establish a run game first, establish a run game first, establish a run game first….”.

How about first establishing a plan to use your available weapons to attack and annihilate your opponent?

  97. buccintimeforchanges Says:

TJ Rives and Ronde smoking from the same bowl.

    Sad stuff.

And that comment is an INDICTMENT of Bowles…the next Coen isn’t out there.

That statement alone says Licht made a mistake. I don;t want Jason and Ronde sounds out to lunch to me. We need outside culture. This current culture is infected with losing after Brady left. Licht apparently learned nothing from Tom.

Clean house. Bring in a new HC and GM. This ish is stale.

    Merry XMas!

  98. MadMax Says:

I could just tell grizz was going to be awful when i saw his first few interviews before the season started….low iq….but i kept it to myself, but now its obvious

fire todd and the rest and then allow the new HC to bring in his guys, its not like we dont have talent, but this shtshow is over….somehow someway it has to be over and ENDED!!!!

  99. Inwoodjeremy Says:

This is what Pittsburgh Steelers fans have gone through for nearly 20 years. No thanks 3-0 in Superbowls. 2-1 or 0-17 is the same thing. One is the first loser, one is the last loser. How are you going to be creating a dynasty around a HC that is considering retiring and runs a 2-8 team.

  100. SlyPirate Says:

If this is real … I’M OUT

Fans can create change. Stop buying tickets. Stop watching games. Stop buying swag. Stop going to their web page. Stop clicking on their links on popular sites like ESPN. Just stop.

The Bucs will make changes when fans stop being fans.

  101. Jeff Says:

Todd loses these last two games and he’s gonzo. History repeats itself, folks. Merry Christmas! My xmas wish is Klint Kubiak. So Dreamy!

  102. Scotty Mack Says:

Keep in mind that if the Bucs did get rid of Bowles, there will be another half dozen teams trying to get a new head coach for next season.

Not only will the Glazers need to have high confidence that the new coach will be better than the old one, but they will have to pony up some serious money to get him.

  103. BuccinBaker6, Says:

The only reason Bowles doesn’t get fired this year is because the team doesn’t think there are any guys that are better there are not any or many hot.coaching candidates The only guy I really want is a defensive coach it’s Chris Shula an he can bring a Mike Lafluer with him or Nate Shallasse or how ever you spell that but they might also be waiting to see if Todd will make the playoffs but there are not any Hot names out there this year.like last year Bucs made a huge mistake by not Promoting.Liam Coen there are not any Ben Johnson’s or Liam Coens out there this year the only Coach there is Is Klint Cubiak who I believe the Bu s had in for there OC job an didn’t hire him but I keep hearing he’s a good OC but very soft spoken an not sure how he would be as a HC

  104. Josh Says:

Yeah, I’ve already stopped spending money on the NFL. I canceled the trip I was planning this year for a game, and I won’t even play fantasy football next year if Toilet Bowls is still the coach. I’ll check the results afterward and give little to no attention to football anymore. If the goal is to completely lose the fanbase, this is exactly how you do it. Lmao.

  105. Scotty Mack Says:

RedZone: ““The only way things will change is if they vote to eliminate divisions and do playoff seeding by straight records. Divisions are an antiquated concept in this day and age. They voted against it last offseason but it might come up again.”

The ONLY way to do that fairly is to have every team play the same schedule – something that would be impossible to do. How can teams in a division that gets to play both the NFC East and AFC North get better seeding than teams that did not get to play those divisions, for instance?

If you look at combined wins by division, you’ll see that both the NFC East and AFC North are worse divisions than the “woeful” NFC South.

  106. BucsFan81 Says:

Bowles could lose the last 2 games and still coach here for the next 2 or 3 years. He just got an extension. They are not going to pay multiple coaches.

  107. Jmarkbuc Says:

    81

They’ve done it plenty of times before.

  108. Buc king Says:

They better fire him only way I give him a 2nd chance is if he gets to nfc championship

  109. BPBucsfan Says:

Liam Cohen can become the 11th coach to win at least 12 games in his first year since 1970.

  110. Steven007 Says:

I’m always amused when fans Express how they’re not going to be fans in the near future If things don’t change. What are we supposed to do with that information? Nobody cares.

  111. Redzone Says:

The lost decade stuff is BS – I live in TN so I listen to non-local radio – the perception of Bowles outside of Tampa is awful

No one is afraid of this dudes antiquated defense and why would you be? Everything works against it and he’s the dire opposite of “clutch”

  112. firethecannons Says:

There are multiple teams that I watch when the Bucs lose in the first round playoffs. I have learned to move on to other teams as needed. I will certainly do that again. I assume everybody does that. I watch some games pulling for some teams to get beat and some to win. The Glazers are going to lose their fan base quickly by not firing a loser head coach. Nothing changes if nothing changes, simple as that.

  113. Bucsking813 Says:

Some of you guys are crazy. Licht needs to go b4 todd. Of any of the so-called top GMs in the league (which most people see licht as) he’s the only one that won’t invest in a really good pass rusher. Add to the fact that he really doesn’t know how to draft corners.. Carlton Davis was not that good, jamel Dean is not that good, Sean Murphy bunting was not that good, Vernon Hargreaves was definitely not good. These two rookie corners are not that good. . What Gm do you know that would not draft or sign a bonafide pass rusher if you have D coordinator that loves to blitz. Our superbowl season tells you everything you need to know. The final 4 teams in the playoffs will be the 4 teams that can generate consistent pass rush with only sending 4. Fire Bowles, licht, grizzard and most definitely the special teams coordinator.

  114. BigMacAttack Says:

After this season’s collapse comes to a close, Todd Bowles needs to wake up the next morning, look in the mirror, and say “I’m done. I am not the right man for the job. I did my best and it’s time to retire”. Then tell management, it’s time to for me to step down from football. I appreciate his efforts and hope he does this for the fans who are ready for a new course.

  115. Hodad Says:

When they see no one in the stands the last game of the season the Glazers might get some matches. We could be playing for the South title, or out of the playoffs it won’t matter. Fans won’t show up for Todd anymore, like his players don’t anymore. Barber says, watch what you wish for? How much worse is losing 6, out of 7, with a two game losing streak at home? How much worse is 1-9 on prime time games? This is the problem with Ronde, and the Buc brass. They think this team is better than it really is. They think Todd is a good coach, and the team just had a bad luck season. You either get better, or you get worse. Bucs won’t get better under Bowles. If the Glazers don’t see it, go Jags.

  116. heyjude Says:

Ronde could be right about Todd, but wasn’t he surprised too when Coach Dungy was let go? The Glazers seem to be tight lipped about their internal concerns, which they should be as owners.

I still want the Bucs in the playoff, the Super Bowl. If we were to make it to the SB, I could see Todd retiring on that win and do something else. Jason and others would most likely stay. However, like McKay, a new coach may ask for a lot of changes and bring in their own. There are so many ifs right now.

Hodad, you are right about seeing less Bucs fans in the stands. The Glazers see it too and since the beginning they have been for the fans.

  117. wlliam Says:

ITS THE oc GUYS/ AND ENTIRE COACHING/ LOOK WHAT COACHING DID IN CAROLINA AND JACKSONVLLE/ THEY ARE POFESSIONAL PLAYERS AND THEY ARE GOODE/ ITS COACHING/ TOILET BOWLES HAS TO GO

  118. Bucsarg Says:

I’m still a Todd supporter, but there has been something bad, bad, bad wrong since the break. Todd is the HC and it’s his J O B to correct problems. I believe he knows the problem, so is it him or someone above him preventing the fix. To me Grizzard is way over his head. Too often the rest of the team looks lethargic. The culture I thought I loved seems to have morfed into a losers culture .I don’t see confident guys with a bounce in their step. Joe and Ronde must know something we don’t. Doing the same thing for weeks on end and expecting better results is not understandable. I just don’t get It.

  119. heyjude Says:

Agree Bucsarg. Still supporting too. And something has definitely been going on since the bye.

  120. JoeyJoeStein Says:

How could his seat not be “hot?” All one has to do is review his record against teams with a winning record. The ship be sinking and the sky’s the limit. He gone baby.

  121. Oxycondomns Says:

glazers are buisness men and women and bowles is bad for buisness, its pretty simple what will happen

  122. Josh Says:

90% of the fans here SUCK!!

  123. Josh Says:

Seriously your all old losers that should be put out to pasture!

  124. Josh Says:

There’s a reason this team SUCKS. The FANS SUCK. Seriously, you are all pathetic. Anyone OK with losing Coen last year and keeping the Toilet can seriously roll over and give up on life and I wouldn’t mind it. You old people have a losers mindset and I have been nice for far, far too long. Seriously, you’re a bunch of losers with losers mentality. Let’s keep Todd Bowles. He’s only sucked every year. He will never win a Super Bowl and the team has a collapse every season. Also, the team is carried by the offense and the defense looks worse and worse, but no need for change. Nope, let’s just keep on sucking. The fans still show up and support the team. No, the stadium should be empty. They should have record low sales in every area. The collapse this year and last is erroneous, it is ridiculous and unacceptable, and if you’re OK with it, your part of that 1970s fan base, that is a bunch of losers I said it and I don’t care what anyone here thinks any more you all suck thinking he’s gonna do anything but what he’s already done here its like Baker love him as a QB as a person but after how many seasons do you have to accept this is Baker Mayfield love him or hate him just like Jamies Winston. There’s good weeks, there’s bad weeks he could beat anyone and could beat himself every game.

  125. vadertime Says:

If the Glazers and Licht plan on keeping Bowles after this season, then fans need to speak with their pocketbooks. Once attendence starts to fall, fans line up at the gates of 1 Buc place with pitchforks and torches (the fire type) maybe it will make a difference. I am not sure how long one can market a mediocre product before the coffers take a hit. Good luck Glazers. I’ll be watching from Illinois. Cheers.

  126. Obvious Says:

The worst thing that can happen to a professional sports franchise is for the customers to not care.

Having them happy is great, and having them upset is second best. But the third bucket is a killer.

That’s where a lot of us will fall if Bowles comes back next season.

  127. Nick Houllis Says:

See ya joes. your actively pulling for Bowles to get fired? because your fans want that? JoeBucsfan=F*X News

  128. MostlyPeacefulTraskMob Says:

This team has become a clown show

  129. StormyInFl Says:

    Unbelievable.

Sticking with a mediocre (and I’m being generous) coach because there’s no “sure thing” available? That’s nuts.

Undeserved loyalty to this clown of a head coach has set this franchise back years.

If coach Toilet is back next year, this team will be lucky to be in third place next year.

  130. Rocketman Says:

For all those people making excuses for injuries, let’s point out the 49ers as the poster child for lost games due to injury. And what do they do, they just coach and bring in good players. Bucs coaching is poor on defense and special teams (bottom 5) and below average on offense (bottom half). If the Glazers are going to bury their heads in the sand, they will lose many, many, many season ticket holders.

  131. MelvinJunior Says:

He BETTER BE playing the “company man” right now, & LYING through HIS TEETH. Or, I’m DONE. 💯 FINISHED.
