Report: Mike Evans Returns To Practice Today

December 3rd, 2025

He’s back (to practicing)!

It’s happening. And it isn’t yet Pearl Harbor Day!

Mike Evans has been on the injured reserve list since late October when he broke his clavicle against the Lions. He was thought possibly to be done for the year.

Yet on Dec. 3, Evans returns to the practice field. That’s the word from Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. He twittered this morning that Evans’ 21-day window to get off injured reserve was opened by the Bucs today.

Evans will be on the practice fields behind One Buc Palace.

Joe cannot express how great this news is. A Hall of Fame receiver being added to the roster in December. Fantastic!

The way the Bucs’ defense is playing while largely healthy, aside from Calijah Kancey, is discouraging. It’s December. Few if any teams change stripes in December. You are who you are by then. So the Bucs need to score points, which they have struggled with the past month.

But all of a sudden, here comes a Hall of Fame receiver walking through that door.

Oh, yeah. And Jalen McMillan returns to practice, too, today.

Here comes the cavalry!

What a glorious day it is!

Yes!!! Look for our entire offense to open up as a result.

  2. Joe Sea Says:

    This made my week

  3. Bradinator Says:

    Early Christmas for us!

  4. heyjude Says:

    Best news ever!

  5. jcscycles Says:

This is who Baker needs. Mike can catch balls that others cannot, and is a true X receiver.

    GREAT news!!!

  6. ModHairKen Says:

The record is still in play! Only needs 860 yards in 5 games.

    Get it!

  7. Old Sombrero Says:

This is remarkable. If MacMillan can contribute down the stretch with Evans along with an improving Godwin, this offense is going to be a handful. Just having Irving back we could see a change. A strong offense can help the D. And God forbid Kancey can return. Reminds me of Vea’s return on their last Super Bowl. He was a wrecking ball in the playoffs. Kancey and Vea side by side, healthy, with a full roster on offense sans Mauch, we could be in for a helluva ride.

  8. Matt Says:

Great news. And Finally JMac coming back.

  9. BA’s Red Pen Says:

    LFG!!!

  10. Smashsquatch Says:

Tez, Shep & Kam have filled in admirably, but they’re no substitute for Evans, Godwin & JMac. This news is just what the doctor ordered. Amen.

  11. Bee Says:

Now let’s see if Grizz can actually scheme him open. Gotta get that 1k this season!

  12. PSL Bob Says:

Hallelujah! Should be back on the field for the last two games in prep for the playoffs. YES, YES, YES! What a warrior!

  13. heyjude Says:

ModHairKen – Right on! Mike can still do it.

  14. Mike Says:

And not a minute too soon! We need all the help we can get right now!

  15. BPBucsfan Says:

We’ll need them to play defense as well…

  16. Gipper Says:

Unless there is better pass protection it won’t matter much that ME13 is back. O line has been suspect all season. It would be nice if Baker had Stafford and Goff time to throw.

  17. gofortheface30 Says:

Good, because lord knows we’re going to need to score 35+ per game to be any kind of a threat. WHOOPS, Im so sorry you guys. I took a shot at Todd Bowles and his defense, according to that big dork TV Rives and gatekeeper superfan dorks, I sHoULD lEaVe amirite? According to Rod Munch, anyone that saw the schedule should have known that we were gnna be 7-5 (because that is such big brain predictor tool lmao dummy) so therefore we should be satisifed. We should be satisfied with making quarterbacks look like jesus himself in cleats because other fans are projecting their post traumatic stress disorder from the 2010’s and their small brains cant move on. I am NOT allowed to raise the bar to higher standards, ever.

  18. Joe Sea Says:

Imagine saying Mike Evans returning to an offense doesn’t matter much. Lack of ball knowledge identified!

  19. Stpetematt Says:

This is a perfect game for Evans to get like 250 yards+.

  20. Colonel Angus Says:

Hopefully they can return for the ATL game and shake off the rust. Then a mini bye before the Panthers game.

  21. Muscle Hampster Says:

I’d be out for life if I broke my clavicle. Stay healthy Mike, we need you!

  22. 813bucboi Says:

    great news!!!!

im sure aqua hates hearing this lol

    GO BUCS!!!!

  23. 813bucboi Says:

would love to get CK94 back for the MIA game..

    GO BUCS!!!!

  24. Nick2 Says:

Awesome! I can’t wait to see the back shoulder fade again!!

  25. Jeff Says:

Calm down Yucs fans. This is a 12 week injury. Mike will not play in any games this year.

  26. Cassie Says:

How many yards per game to we need to feed him? He must get 1000!

  27. Usfbucs Says:

So you’re saying there’s a chance he still gets 1000 yards. Just have to force him the ball so he gets like 175 yards per game if he plays this week through the end of the season.

  28. johnnythemoon Says:

Yea but we still need to fire Bowles so this is bad news as it may get in the way of that if it helps us win…

  29. Carlitin1988 Says:

    AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!

  30. Eliseo Says:

    thank the lord

  31. #1bucsfan Says:

If the defense can just hold teams to 21 then the Bucs with Evans should have no prob putting up 28+ pts a game. Grizz has got to get the oline right. They have not looked as dominant as last year and 1 missing starter shouldn’t nose dive the other 4 guys. Coen had this run game humming. Starts with grizz. Defense is what it is. Inconsistent. Can hold lions to there lowest score at home since last year hold the eagle to 0 yards in the 2nd half of the game. Those are not easy todo. Let’s go Tampa

  32. buccintimeforchanges Says:

    Win games…get ready for playoffs.

Record is MEANINGLESS. Seriously. If I see Baker forcing it to Evans…smdh

    Win. Records don’t matter.

  33. Oscar Says:

Godwin has only been back one week. I don’t count the Rams game as he barely played especially after the blowout was in full swing. He hopefully will get better as well. With Evans back by the Falcons game, things should get exponentially better offensively! Let’s not forget the impact of getting Bucky back as well. Egbuka also becomes a much bigger threat. With the offensive line almost at full strength, the offense should be firing on all cylinders by the Panthers game and it will be needed.

  34. Colonel Angus Says:

Calvin Johnson has the record with 861yds over a 5 game span.

  35. Brooks Says:

With the Saints coming to town he’ll be back on IR

  36. El hefe Says:

lol jmac want more recognition not to be just thrown in

  37. Obvious Says:

    Good stuff.

Starting in two Thursdays I’d like to see a healthy amount of four receiver sets with Irving in the backfield.

If the defense sends 5, some one has to cover Irving out of the backfield and someone will get doubled – that’s one one one and baker has to get to the right guy.

Send 6 and it’s one one one every where.

Send 4 – run the ball.

No reason not to win on the vast majority of your offensive snaps. Bowles will need to realize that he has to play for 6 rather than 3 to get the score up.

If we can accomplish this and prove that we can run out of big sets with Payne and Cade then maybe we can beat the panthers in three weeks.

  38. JustOneGame Says:

Evans, Godwin & Egbuka on the field together, wow defenses will finally have to respect the pass. It’s no coincidence the offense has struggled since Mikes injury caused on a play where he was mauled and not a single flag was thrown. Yet somehow, Tristan Wifrs executed a perfect chop and was called for a bs holding penalty… sorry to mix officiating in on this one. Anyhow, morale of the story, Mike Evans is that man.

Mike is the one when fully healthy can change the dynamic of the game. Running lanes will be larger, other receivers will be wide ass open. The Bucs will need to score 30 plus to have any chance in the playoffs and Mike makes that a realistic possibility. Not to mention, Godwin & Buckys return as well.

  39. Deuceswild78 Says:

Hopefully a few games for grizzard to learn how to use thee whole deck

  40. Buckit Says:

Who was the guy that said no one on IR, or was injured, was coming back this season? Said he had an inside source, right, right. . .

  41. mj Says:

    best… news…. ever…

  42. Lightningvinny1 Says:

Here they come ,,, Big Mike , JMac, Egbuka and Godwin ,,, sprinkle in a Tez here and there ,,, wook it’s what we thought they would be in the beginning of the season ,,, Bucky running wild ,,, 30 points a game from that point on

  43. Buc1987 Says:

    Jeff Says:

“Calm down Yucs fans. This is a 12 week injury. Mike will not play in any games this year.”

You said the same exact shyte about Goedeke AND Bucky.

You’re always wrong Jeff…just like you said the Bucs would lose to the Cards.

Don’t you hate always being wrong?

  44. Jim Hennessey Says:

We will see. Game shape is different than practice.

  45. MikeBuc Says:

“Tez, Shep & Kam have filled in admirably, but they’re no substitute for Evans, Godwin & JMac.”

disagree on Tez and jmac. I’d put Jmac ahead of tez for now but in lineup of Mike, Egbuka and Godwin tez is shaping up to be quite the substitute. I certainly hope he will not be buried deep on the bench

  46. jimmy Says:

    that was fast.

  47. infomeplease Says:

    Sounds good to me!!

  48. Weebs10 Says:

Evans 300 yard game is loading

  49. Oahu Jimothy Says:

This is amazing news. You have to love to hear it!

But the nasty will still be missing from this team. The desire to leave the foot on the gas is non existent.

I love the make up of this team, they are not the problem, its the defensive coordinator!

    #noconfidence
