What a game!
Man, the Bucs continue to torture their fans.
Being a Tampa Bay fan has become painful.
Despite having their stunning stable of receivers healthy, the Bucs had just 60 yards passing through three quarters today against the Stinking Panthers. Shouldn’t that be a fireable offense for someone?
The Panthers entered the game with a poor pass defense overall, and they were ranked 29th in sacks per game before kickoff. And the Bucs couldn’t throw the ball?
The Bucs played keepaway by pounding the running game, but it didn’t help them handle the Carolina offense. The defense struggled to tackle and made Bryce Young look better than he is. Young completed 21 of 31 passes with 2 touchdown throws and 191 yards passing.
As for all the running, Joe can’t blame Bowles for wanting his sad defense off the field, but this was almost ridiculous.
Ugly penalties and red zone ineptitude on offense helped doom the Bucs today. Luke Goedeke was a prime offender.
Panthers receiver Tetairoa McMillan broke out of the rookie wall that had knocked him down for the past few games and their first-round draft pick finished with 6 receptions for 73 yards.
The Bucs lived and died with their rookie outside cornerbacks. It mostly was good, but Benjamin Morrison got beat late — and was called for pass interference on the play.
Joe simply cannot understand how the Bucs could not/did not make the most of their $20 million receivers (plural) and the rest of their talented receiving corps.
Joe tips a cap to Lavonte David, who isn’t close to what he used to be, but he did lead the Bucs with 10 tackles and what looked like an important sack late in the game.
Baker Mayfield? His late-game magic has left the building.
The Fire Todd Bowles woofing sure was loud in the bar where Joe watched the game.

Again, the Bucs walked off the field looking like the less hungry and focused team.

Baker basically played a perfect game, but everyone let him down. The defense gave up more than 20 points, so that right there is basically a loss. Then the offense line… I mean Baker never had more than 0.3 seconds on any pass to get the ball out, and I know, I timed it. Then all the receivers, they’re jealous of Baker, want him to fail, so they changed the routes to make Baker look bad. Everyone is against Baker, they hate the fact he gets commercials and they don’t, they want him to do poorly and look bad. Why is everyone against Baker, he’s better than Brady and Montana combined – if only people would support him instead of trying to make him look bad.

What a great game all the way around by the Bucs. Again, playing not to lose we found out that running the ball to win the time of the possession was more important than actually scoring more than the Panthers to actually win the game. I also don’t think Evans should’ve broke out of that route like he did. I blame Baker too, though. This team is just not good all the way around. We had chances to get the upper hand in this one, but we always put it on Baker’s shoulders too late in the game. It’s too much for one man to handle. This game could’ve been closed out early if it wasn’t for the sh*t coaching.

Well we know they didn’t make an offer, since to make an offer they’d have had to fire Bowles, then gone through a sham hiring process due to NFL rules because they think it’s still 1860.
I don’t blame them for not hiring Coen because of those bogus rules, the fact you have to fire and go through that bogus hiring process to just make an offer, but as I said last season, I’d personally have done it. Coen was special, you could watch the offense run and see it. But firing your HC without being able to have someone in place first, I can see why they didn’t do it. Still, obviously, was the wrong call.

Baker Mayfield is not an elite franchise QB. He can pull great things out of nothing sometimes but he can also end games with bad passes and ints. He will always be inconsistent. A franchise QB cannot be inconsistent from game to game.

how tf is it baker’s fault that evans bailed on his route and ran in the opposite direction from where he was supposed to be when the ball was in the air?? he thought baker was in trouble and was scrambling to try to get open and improvise a play, which is great EXCEPT when the pass is already on the way. if he had continued with his route and turned around, the ball was right there for the first down.

For the Baker Boi(s) who claim Baker is once again faultless…
On the play, Mike is being grabbed and tripped, is stumbling, and isn’t open, Baker threw it anyways. Mike knew he wasn’t open which is why he’s cutting back. I don’t know if it’s an option route or not, but Mike wasn’t open in any case.
The idea that Baker was once again let down by everyone else is nonsense. He shouldn’t have thrown that pass. At the same time, I’m not blaming him solely for the pass, but, again, THREE weeks in a row with 1st place on the line, and Baker has failed.
Remarkably since the Panthers will lose to Seattle next week, the Bucs still aren’t out of it, even if they lose to the Dolphins.

I blame baker and only baker. Defense was great o-line was great and didn’t commit any penalties, Jalen didn’t drop a big pass on that last drive. Baker threw an interception because Mike quit running his route, Mike went up and apologized to baker on the tv screen. But that interception is still bakers fault not Mike’s. Baker has to go guys. I see that a lot of people are trashing Baker, but did anyone see how bad the play calling was. Grizz was not able to adjust in the second half. Whether or not Baker ran his route wrong, you don’t throw the ball when you don’t know for certain which way the receiver is going, especially with a DB right on top of him. Even if Evans runs that route correctly, the DB would have been all over him and may have knocked it down. There’s a time and place for preemptive passes, and that was not the time, when we are down 3 trying to get a score to tie or win in the last minute. You need to be sure that your receiver is on the same page when you chuck it and it was clear looking at Evans in the slow mo right before the ball left Baker’s hands that Evans was going back inside. Baker had me finally believing early this season, but I’m done. He’s what I thought he was from the get go of the BS competition that he lost, but “won”, to Trask. This staff needs to pay for making that decision and losing our 2nd round pick for a guy that folds when we need him to step up the most.

Nah play calling was great, Todd’s game plan of running the ball all game until the last 2 minutes of the game after defense gave up the score was the exact right play call. Baker doesn’t need rhythm throughout the game. He should just complete every single pass. This loss falls on baker. He’s got to be better. Baker basically played a perfect game, but everyone let him down. The defense gave up more than 20 points, so that right there is basically a loss. Then the offense line… I mean Baker never had more than 0.3 seconds on any pass to get the ball out, and I know, I timed it. Then all the receivers, they’re jealous of Baker, want him to fail, so they changed the routes to make Baker look bad. Everyone is against Baker, they hate the fact he gets commercials and they don’t, they want him to do poorly and look bad. Why is everyone against Baker, he’s better than Brady and Montana combined – if only people would support him instead of trying to make him look bad.

The Bucs have lost 7 out of last 8 games after getting to 6-2. No matter what honey play they cannot play smart, high energy and complimentary football.
Mayfield and multiple defensive players are ready to move on from the organization. The irony of all of this, Dave Canales, an average OC si h the Bucs has proven to be a great leader working with very medium talent and fire them up.
I knew that there was only one way for the Bucs to win this game. 30 points (3 touchdowns and 2 FG) would be the only way for a win.
That had o come out and get a lead at halftime. I didn’t see the killer instinct. They made mistakes, they havnt been sharp all year and havnt put any teams away.
At clutch time they fold. Disorganization, penalties and bad QB play are indicators of a franchise heading downhill.
Only with a capable GM and a reorganization will this team be a contender.
Jason Licht drafted enough offensive players to average 25 points but the lack of organization on offense has been critical in close games.
He has failed miserably with his judgment for defensive players and gambled and lost keeping Bowles and letting Coen out of the building.
A new GM and a Shanahan-McVay tree offensive poach will be able to resurrect the offense but the defense is incapable of improving with Jason Licht making bad draft picks, not hitting in free agency and relying on Bowles’ system.
Make no mistake this is Raheem II and GM incompatence.

Think of the state of affairs for this franchise as a whole if Tom didn’t DECIDE to come to the Bucs. It’d still be the laughing stock of all major sports leagues. I’d send some kind of message TOMORROW if I was licht but then again I have a F*CKING SPINE. This whole season is a dereliction of duty by everyone involved

Give me a break. Before the ball came out of Baker’s hands, it was clear Evans was starting inside. And why throw to a guy who has a DB draped all over him? And he had time to pass the ball on that play. He didn’t need to rip it right at that second. Stop giving excuses for Baker. He’s been this way his whole career!

Making excuses. His poor play is costing us our season. Hate it.
Kerr…. the last 6 weeks I have seen an o line that could not give any qb a pocket to throw out of, I have seen receivers that could not get open, even today they did not break open very often.
But most of all a see an OC that could not scheme his way out of a phone booth. I see total disarray in getting the play in and getting the ball snapped. Please go watch some more football and see the ball be snapped with 10-to 12 seconds on the play clock over and over. This comes down to overrating the talent, not playing to its strengths and making bizarre play calls, then listening to you low IQ’s blaming people.
I see a defense never holding a lead pretty much all season, I see a special teams that are clueless most games. Finally I see officiating that is right down crooked and should be investigated, because the NFL has fixed games.
But go ahead a blame Baker, I hope his is gone from this sh!tshow called the Tampa Bay Bucs.

You mean to tell me Kyle Trask with these receivers couldn’t give you at least 225 and 2 TDs?
What a joke. Bowles put the kibosh on Trask from the very start and sabotaged his career.
It’s not that he favored Mayfield over Trask. It’s the garbage way he went about it. Now we got fool’s gold at QB who has choked in every late season/playoff he’s been in since he’s been here. Always with the late turnovers. Hero ball only gets you so far. You need a guy who consistently execute at a high level. We never got to see what Kyle could do on the field and now we’re paying the price.
You have to develop QBs. You have to be committed to it. You don’t burn a 2nd round on a guy and bury him on the bench for 4 seasons. It’s just gross mismanagement. It’s bush league.

I have to agree with some of my fellow fans. Gruden is a different person and coach than he used to be. His presence is delightful and compelling, he loves the game more than any coach out there. I would not be unhappy with it if he got a shot at the reins again, then again I was unhappy and upset he got fired to begin with.

I told everyone when we signed that piece of 💩 BAKER SUCKS HE IS NOT A REAL QB. He is Tim Tebow he is Tua he is 🚮. But no one listened. The panthers and the rams and the BROWNS let him go like cmon what else has to be seen to know dude is not a franchise QB. Winfield sucks so bad it’s scary. Jason Litch has to go NOW dude is killing the front office. Says no to trade for a pass rusher but he signs JPP 😂😂😂 get him outta here both of’em. There is a BIG-Problem hen your “franchise” QB is not on the same page as HIS WR’s. BOTH of those last passes, the one to JMac, AND the one to Big-Mike, were just AWFUL. So, what or WHO is the common denominator… Baker AND Bowles. It’s just a poorly coached football team, and has been for YEARS NOW. The players are all LOST. Completely, tuned-out. They’d already given up on the season well over a MONTH ago! There are some MAJOR ISSUES within that locker-room.

We are in the ultimate win/win situation,, better then any of you Bucs fans could have imagined when they were 7-5 ,,, you now can not lose!!! You have A) Bucs win last 2 and get a home playoff game (how wonderful) B) Bucs lose last 2 and Bowles gets canned (also acceptable) and the blow your mind scenario,, C) Both teams lose next week , Bucs eek out a week 18 win at home and get to the playoffs and Bowles still gets fired!! Think of the possibilities!!!

Mike Evans knows he broke off that route. He will admit it but it won’t stop the idiots from blaming Baker. Baker was leading the team from the 7 yard line for what would have been a winning drive. Game plan was stupid. Finally, get receivers back and coaches decide to play a button down game. O line play was miserable with no blitz pickup. Anyone who says differently is just a hillbilly who doesn’t know football.

Dean giving up that Td just before half is totally unacceptable. Panthers had no timeouts and 17 seconds from the 25 yd line. Any catch before the end zone would have resulted in end of half. At worst a FG. How is it possible you get beat deep?

I’m not necessarily calling for gruden, even though he wasn’t this bad, but all these defensive minded coaches we have had are garbage! At least Bruce and Jon took us to the Superbowl, and I don’t wanna hear this crap about Jon took dungy’s team to the superbowl. Why couldn’t Dungy take is own team to the Superbowl? He had a great defense for years, had plenty of time. I’m not anti-Gruden like a lot people here are, but I would certainly take him any day over this complete garbage we have now.

I think Jon is a football junkie and has learned a lot from not coaching. He has connections, and friends. I think he has a staff in mind in case he gets the job.
I think he’s up at night coordinating plays. He could be the best thing Baker ever had. He loves our Bucs and I think he would be better here the second time. He knows it would be his last gig and give it all he’s got.
