Next Up, The Historically Miserable Saints

December 2nd, 2025

The Saints offense is on a miserable roll spanning seven games —  far worse that what Bucs fans endured in The Lost Decade.

What a great week it is to hate on the Saints with the Bucs hosting them this Sunday. But the fun is missing because the Saints are so horrible this season. The sport of it all feels lacking.

Consider the following facts:

New Orleans is on a streak of seven consecutive games scoring less than 20 points. Heck, the brutal Bucs offense of 2013 never went four games in a row failing to hit 20 points. And Tampa Bay’s heinous Josh McCown offense in 2014 maxed out at five consecutive games scoring under 20 points, and they were tanking!

During this ugly Saints streak, New Orleans’ worst day was against the shaky Bucs defense — three points back in October. What does that say?

Over the past seven games, the Saints have averaged 12.9 points per game. Joe doesn’t believe in NFL coincidences.

For all those who watched the Saints-Dolphins game Sunday and want to say, ‘but the Saints might have won if receiver Chris Olave didn’t drop a touchdown pass,’ Joe is happy to point you to Chris Godwin’s dropped touchdown right in his numbers Sunday. That cost the Bucs four points and a stress-free, two-score “W” against the Cardinals. That’s football.

Joe will offer kudos to the Saints for pulling off the desperation onside kick miracle late in the game after trailing 16-0 at halftime.

One Saints stat that surely has Todd Bowles drooling is through the past seven games, the Saints have turned the ball over a stunning 16 times — sixteen. For perspective, the Bucs have nine turnovers all season.

Yes, the Bucs will welcome the NFC’s most impotent team at the perfect time.

Well Joe don’t get over excited here. Yes the Saints are bad. However, this is a division game so throw everything out the window.
Throw everything out the window? That’s coachspeak silliness.–Joe
The Saints would love nothing more than to ruin any playoff hopes the Bucs have. The Bucs being the Bucs this year well, who knows. If they come out slow and playing not interested, who knows anything is possible.
Hopefully Godwin gets going more and Bucky too. The last game while not stellar did show hope that things may change offensively. I liked the play calling better too. I saw White being used more in the passing game and like when him and Irving were in the game at the same time.
The Defense still allowing people to run up and down the field. We have seen this defense is capable of giving up points.
Is this game a slam dunk?, I doubt it the Bucs seem to allow teams to hang in there. Yes, all you need to do is look at last week. I guess if we do fall to the Saints then the team needs to be done for the season. Thus far I just have not seen the hunger they all talked about in the preseason! Somehow I expect this game to be no different, until they prove otherwise

Should we win easily? Yes. Will we? Based on last week, I just don’t know. The OC can’t seem to dial anything in. The HC/DC’a approach feels stale. It just doesn’t seem like there’s a shred of fire, passion or urgency heading into this game. Can’t you see us coming out FLAT?!?! It’s what we do.

We should continue to look better on offensive as our weapons get healthy and play their way back into game shape. We need to get this at home continue to rebuild our confidence as a team. I expect us to win but Saints to be competive it is a rivalry.

Isn’t Cousins playing? Might not be so easy if you know what I mean. 🙁
