Morning Cup Of Joe
December 19th, 2025
Welcome to your Morning Cup of Joe, an eye-opener to help Joe’s readers ease into their busy workday with a few football links, wacky news and a pleasant distraction.
Mouthy former Bengals quarterback A.J. McCarron is the new coach of your Birmingham Stallions. J.J. Watt no fan of Tua. [PFT/a>]
The 10 most important games in the final three weeks of the season. [CBS]
Rotten Cowboys defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus will call games from the booth the rest of the season. Translation: Get the eff as far away from the bench as you can before we fire you in three weeks, clown. [Yahoo!]
Cam Ward wants a say in who the Titans hire as new head coach. He should. Joe’s willing to bet a rookie quarterback has more of a clue than Tennessee owner Amy Adams Strunk. [NFL]

Nick Saban compares non-B1G/SEC/Big XII/ACC teams to minor league baseball. Saban isn’t wrong. In no sober world is James Madison better than Notre Dame. Notre Dame’s running backs alone (maybe two first-round picks) would rack up 300 yards on JMU. But surely Saban knows the reason why the little brothers get bids in the college football playoff is to avoid the big schools from getting sued for collusion. Strange why he ignored this rather important point in his rant. [Awful Announcing]
Dave Portnoy/Barstool Sports squeezed eight figures from Netflix for the video rights for three podcasts, including “Pardon My Take” starring Big Cat and PFT Commenter. [Front Office Sports]

That fitness video really was scary. I have never seen that happen in a fitness facility. That was just cray-cray. Good for the employee for keeping their cool. A lot to put up with when you don’t really make a lot per hour either. They need to give him a bonus.

heyjude, I wouldn’t have thought of using the word scary. But what I find interesting is how the Patriots don’t seem to be getting any respect. I mean, one bad half? It’s not like Josh Allen hasn’t done that before. Anyway, we’ll see what happens with the Ravens game this weekend.
