Four Bucs Getting Loads Of Pro Bowl Votes

December 3rd, 2025

Raking in Pro Bowl votes.

Joe fully understands why some fans make the claim the Pro Bowl is a waste of time, electricity and other valuable national resources.

What once was an interesting game turned into sort of a fun game that morphed into an abortion. What’s left of the Pro Bowl from when the NFL allowed hitting in Hawaii to whatever the hell it is now is a total joke and not worth Joe’s time.

However, the Pro Bowl does matter. Joe can promise you just about every player has a bonus clause in his contract if he makes the Pro Bowl.

Further, TV networks like the Pro Bowl because people actually watch. Not “this Joe,” but people watch. That means revenue.

Fan voting for the Pro Bowl began on Thanksgiving. Yesterday morning, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network twittered a screenshot of the top vote-getters, some of whom are Bucs players. Jamel Dean, Tykee Smith and Tristan Wirfs each had the third-most votes of all players at their positions.

The funny thing about this (well, not funny on second though) is that Wirfs may be having is worst season (though he’s still very good). And Joe is surprised so many have jumped on Smith’s bandwagon in just his second season and first at strong safety.

The other Bucs player getting a bunch of votes is Emeka Egbuka, who has the sixth-most at wide receiver. That’s impressive. Or is that just the power of The Ohio State?

    no top ten for baker….

  2. ChiBuc Says:

How is Chase not top 10 for kickers?

  3. Thisisouryear!!!! Says:

I’ve been down on the team but win the next 3 and they can sit everyone for basically 3 weeks to heal. Maybe we look like the team from the beginning of the year for the playoffs.

  4. Beeej Says:

I bet Chase will end up all-pro at the position

  5. heyjude Says:

Good going for the four Bucs. Can’t believe Baker isn’t on top ten QBs. He ends up being there and everyone loves him. Maybe they think we will be in the SB.

ChiBuc – Agreed, Chase should be top ten kickers.

  6. Colonel Angus Says:

Chase is definitely our best weapon.

  7. 813bucboi Says:

surprised Tykee Smith not on the Pro Bowl list…

    GO BUCS!!!!

  8. Geno711 Says:

Tykee Smith 3rd in voting for his position.

  9. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Not interested.

The game isn’t the issue. The voting is. Opening it up to fan voting has made it nothing more than a popularity contest, not a ranking of skill.

  10. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Also, the voting is too early in the season. Late bloomers get no recognition as a result.

  11. Jeff Says:

Be honest with yourselves, Baker, at best is the 15th best QB in the league. That’s pretty good. If Baker only had a top 15 defense to help out. Defense is 32nd.

  12. Bojim Says:

I was always concerned when a Buc went to the Pro Bowl in Hawaii. Didnt want them to take a chance getting hurt in a game that means nothing. The new Pro Bowl is a fun get together for all the players. I’ll watch it if I’m watching TV at that time. Don’t really look for it.

  13. It's Corn Says:

    Fan voting killed it.

  14. Steven007 Says:

813, Tykeei is right there. Also, Jaxyn dart on the QB list is kind of ridiculous. Clearly a popularity thing.

  15. SoCalBucsFan79 Says:

I thought fan voting isn’t the determining factor, just a third with players and coaches counting for the other two-thirds. Wirfs is getting fan support because of his previous name recognition, not because fans are so plugged in to knowing the metrics that make his performance exceptional this season. Yet his peers and coaches around the league will also pull him across as they know how good he is, even on an average year. I don’t think fans are pulling up advance analytics to chose their selections of o-line, long snapper or core special teams.

  16. ModHairKen Says:

    Spot on Bonzai. And Joe.

It’s a popularity contest for a ridiculous game that no one with a brain watches.

    Just end it.

  17. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Tykee should be a lock, and he’s arguably the most consistent player on this entire roster.

UGA has some more dawgs that’ll be coming out in next years’ draft.

  18. BucU Says:

Bowles has been substituting Morrison for Dean instead of Zyon for a very good reason. Bucs mngmnt knows that after forcing Dean to take a pay cut before the season they know he won’t sign a new contract with the team again after the season. Morrison getting reps from Dean because of that.

  19. Jeff Says:

I’m not sure the Bucs have any pro bowl quality players this year. Wirfs perhaps. Tykee smith. Who else? Dean? Maybe. But he’s always hurt.

  20. Conte Piscatelli Says:

Tykee Smith is currently the best player on our defense. Period!

  21. BakerFan Says:

Wirfs is not having a good year. Parish is having a great year as well as Dean, Smith, and EE

  22. Erik with Pilot and Driver™ Says:

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but we absolutely need to re-sign Dean.

He’s the only one who ever makes a splash play in our secondary.

  23. Erik with Pilot and Driver™ Says:

I meant to say: *Other than Tykee, Dean is the only one who ever makes a splash play in our secondary.

  24. BigBoiBuc Says:

Jaxson Dart in but no Baker? Chase not in Top 10? Voting is a joke. Just likes to talk baseball.

  25. LANshark Says:

As long as fans are voting for it, it’s just a popularity contest and quite meaningless. Now, if fans were 25%, and the other 75% was coaches and other players, that would be very interesting…

  26. Aqualung Says:

The only Buc I know deserving is Chase. The rest of them, every one of them, have embraced the Todd Bowles Regression Principle. Play just hard enough to only loaf a little, except when you loaf a lot.

And Baker who is playing like it’s 2021.

  27. LakelandSteve Says:

I know out of all the positions long snapper and probably kicker are more of a popularity contest when it comes to Pro Bowl voting. Chase McLaughlin isn’t even in the top 10 in Pro Bowl voting. He is currently listed as 6’th in the league among kickers (according to ESPN) but no one has hit 9 field goals over 50 yards. That is on 9 attempts. The Minnesota kicker is 8 for 10 from 50 and beyond. No one else is close and no one is even sniffing 100 % from 50 with anywhere close to 9 attempts. When you look at degree of difficulty McLaughlin is far and above the best this year, but I guess that doesn’t mean anything to voters from around the league. It means a lot to Bucs fans realizing where we would be this season without him.

  28. Rod Munch Says:

But Baker was the week 6 MVP… how is he not on the list?
