“We Don’t Have Too Many Divas”
November 13th, 2025So last Sunday after a tough loss to the Patriots, Baker Mayfield had words for his teammates.
They weren’t pleasant.
Mayfield didn’t like how his teammates were not paying enough attention to details. And he was convinced that cost them the game against New England. He said if the team didn’t start flying right, it might cost the Bucs more than a game.
Bucs coach Todd Bowles was right with Mayfield, both with his anger and disgust, and how the players need to be detail-oriented.
“We encourage accountability here,” Bowles said of Mayfield airing his grievances. “We don’t pull any wooden nickels out of here. So, we talk about it when we do good and when we do bad and what we need to do better as a team.
“He spoke and everybody took it the right way. You know, we’re not getting on anybody in a bad way, but leadership counts on this team so when certain people talk, you know, everybody takes heat for it. So, I’m perfectly fine with it.”
Bucs receiver Emeka Egbuka agreed with Bowles, that players will heed Mayfield’s words.
“We don’t have too many divas in this locker room who think they’re above the law or anything like that,” Egbuka said. “We know everyone has to do their [very best], whoever is on the field.
“People took great accountability, came in [Wednesday] and had a focused, locked-in session today.
“[We] just have to continue stacking days throughout the week to fix everything that we need to fix before Sunday’s kickoff.”
Egbuka did not go into details.
We’ll see if this works. Joe knows last year after the embarrassing effort against the Broncos, Bucs linebacker Lavonte David lit into his teammates for what he perceived as a poor effort.
The Bucs responded the very next game by slapping the Eagles around.

Translation; We don’t have too many but we do have a few.
My gut tells me that the real reason Jason didn’t make a deal is because he knows that next year they will have a new coach and the rebuild starts.

What started out as a season to remember, is now a season to forget

Buccaneers 12-4 unless 16 regular season games. #10 DVOA, Buffalo #11. #7 Defense.

GO BUCS!!!!

Jason will fortify the O line, bring in a veteran #2 receiver and a veteran running back, pay Baker, draft another receiver, and then focus on the defense with input from the new head coach. I think CG’s injury is career ending. Mike may possibly come back on a one year deal for his swan song but I doubt it. Lavonte retires. Winfield is a salary casualty. Dean and Zyon are traded. Dennis is gone. Vea gets traded. Reddick is gone and so is Braswell. So the remaing question for me is which model do they use for selecting a new coach; youth or experience ?

Love the maturity from Egbuka there.

I want what Roscoe is drinking.
November 13th, 2025 at 10:07 am
Roscoe is on crack, we definitely won’t have a new coach next year if he’s referring to Bowles.
I do actually hope that we have a new OC next year, though. Grizz needs to be demoted or let go after this season, in my opinion. Let’s find someone else from the McVay, which Grizz is not btw.

Bucs finish 9-8.

I may be wrong but I see and hear the “Orange Blossom Special” coming down the track and there will be many jumping to get off the track.

I have been both supportive and critical of Todd Bowles. As a person he is first class. As a head coach he is mediocre. The NFL has made him a wealthy man. I won’t feel pity for him when he fades away into obscurity.

Roscoe; you apparently have no idea what a team in need of a rebuild looks like. We may have looked like that to an extent in 2022/2023 but not now. We have way too many good young players. The oline is already rebuilt just needs to get healthy. Receiver room rebuild is well on the way already. The secondary looks fantastic. We have a QB. The DL and LB needs some attention but that’s far from a rebuild.

I’ve never seen anyone named Roscoe posting here.
TROLL ALERT!!!
What team do you really root for, Roscoe P. Coltrain?
Boss Hog is calling for you. Go away.

For 50 years myself and others have waited for a true franchise QB and a solid front office. We have it. If you choose to do so, you can bet your bottom dollar that Jason and the Glazers will pay Baker a fortune and do whatever he and they feel is necessary for his success.

Yes not sure where Roscoe is coming from. Defenitely left field in my opinion. However, I can agree 9-8, now appears very realistic, unfortunately. Take a look at the schedule. Buffalo , a loss likely, the Rams, BIG LOSS. Car., we might win one, both unlikely, Atl. a sweep, ah doubt it. However admit ATL is well inconsistent to say the least. Well That leaves the Cardinals. Today, yes that looks winable. Tomorrow is another story. Yes 9-8 pretty realistic this year now unfortunately.

Agreed we don’t have any divas, but in the words of DMX “where my dogs at?!”

K.M.A. I’ve been around for quite a while. Previously posting as Citrus County. I chose the handle Roscoe for 2 reasons; one for humor and one for seriousness. Rosco P. Coltrane is hilarious but a Roscoe aka piece, heater, iron, gat, rod, etc is serious. That dichotomy gives me the leeway to frame a post in any context I choose. I hope that is not too difficult for you to understand. Please do notice the spelling of sheriff Coltrane’s name.

Kinda of empty cupboard I would hope a bunch of backups and rookies that are actually playing aren’t divas.

Bowles has brought Stability to this Bucs team NFC south Champions an Playoffs Winning this.is the Best Standard the Bucs have ever had idk why so many ppl complain I remember what it used to be an at this time Bucs would have been already focused on the Draft some ppl don’t realize what they have until it’s gone then it’s to late
November 13th, 2025 at 12:20 pm
Roscoe, as much as I would celebrate the Bucs parting ways with Bowels, I can’t see it happening. Let’s say your 9-8 prediction come to fruition. You don’t go full rebuild on a 9 -8 team. I see where you’re going with all the expensive veterans in decline including David, Evans, Godwin, and the underachieving draft picks including Kancy, Braswell, Dennis. But the organization will believe what is easier to believe. They will chalk up the disappointing season to injuries and view the aging veterans as ordinary attrition that is addressed in the off season. Bucs will fall off the cliff in 2026 and only then will they rebuild and fire Bowels.
November 13th, 2025 at 12:43 pm
FootBall1…9-8 that’s what I predicted way back in preseason. So I hear ya.
9-8 and missing the playoffs.
Then they finally fire Bowles regardless of his extension…

The Bucs paid Schiano the remainder of his contract as well as Gruden.
November 13th, 2025 at 1:19 pm
“The Bucs paid Schiano the remainder of his contract as well as Gruden.”
Gruden got the team to 6-3 in ’05 and finished 11-5, that was his last “good year” the 3 seasons that followed we went a combined 22-26 or had a .458 win%
Schiano was caught on tape talking to season-ticket holders calling the franchise a laughing stock or something to that effect, while his entire tenure was a laughing stock. Schiano went 11-21 as Bucs HC a dismal .354 win%
As it stands right now, Bowles is 33-27 which is .550 win%

I don’t think Baker or the Bucs intend to let that happen. This team will get an overhaul and a new head coach or Baker leaves.
