Todd Bowles Updates Sunday Status Of Injured Players

November 7th, 2025

Bucs coach Todd Bowles.

Joe knows the following will absolutely shock Bucs fans.

Chris Godwin and Bucky Irving are out for Sunday’s game with the Patriots. Joe has a feeling you can just repeat the previous information every week for the next few weeks — no one is telling Joe anything here, just reading the tea leaves.

Joining Godwin and Irving on the floppy hat patrol for Sunday will be outside linebacker Haason Reddick.

However, one guy who hasn’t played in almost two months, right tackle Luke Goedeke, has a shot to play Sunday, per Brianna Dix of Buccaneers.com. Goekeke will be listed as questionable.

“He had a good day today,” Bowles said after today’s practice. “We will have to see how he feels [Sunday] and go from there.”

It sounds to Joe like Goedeke will be a game-time decision.

“[Goedeke] was kind of limited [Thursday] but he did more today,” Bowles said.

If Goedeke can return, no doubt that’s a plus. Every starter that can return, the better.

  1. Tucker Says:

Godwin being back at the the beginning of December as per the rumors I’m not quite sure that moves the needle much considering what he looked like the first time he came back this season wish they would have traded for Jacoby myers but whatever I guess.

  2. firethecannons Says:

agree with Tucker Godwin does not move the needle for this season–he is not apt to be a factor

  3. Bucscoott Says:

So glad we didn’t make any trades

  4. Gofortheface30 Says:

Godwin doesn’t move the needle for this season. Agreed 100%
With that in mind, I think we should give him another 3 year extension. Fully Guaranteed. Make it 100 mil this time

  5. Bucfan593 Says:

Godwin coming back in December is probably when he should have came back. He will play better than he did earlier in the season.

  6. LouisFriend Says:

Goedke is starting, period. Tristan Wirfs was listed as questionable and a game-time decision when he came back from injury. This is standard procedure for the Bucs to drain every ounce of suspense out of who an opponent will face.

  7. Aqualung Says:

Who’s gonna play right inside matador?

  8. gotbbucs Says:

Have they given any kind of update on McMillan?

  9. Down Under Says:

Bucs receivers are the re re’s of the NFL

  10. BucsFan81 Says:

Godwin probably won’t be full strength back to his normal self until next season to be honest. I wouldn’t expect much from him this season.

  11. infomeplease Says:

I saw a report earlier today saying CG13 and BI7 probably won’t return before December. Next Man Up!!!

  12. LVMYBUCS Says:

Should have traded both of them

  13. BuucccNASTY Says:

@Tucker. Would you trade Bucky for Jakobi Myers? What about Elijah Roberts and Tez/(healthy) David Walker who was going to be really good this year? What about Sir Dennis? What about Zyon McCullen AND Cade Otton? You see my point… These are all 4th round picks or later, and just in the last 4 years I am sure we could go back further… Let Licht keep his ammo because he has been shooting red hot.

  14. Beeej Says:

Jason, Licht draft picks are too valuable to trade. Even a fifth rounder becomes a starter with this guy

  15. unbelievable Says:

We needed to add a WR to have a realistic shot at a deep playoff / SB run.

But we didn’t. Simple as that.

  16. St.Pete Salty Buc Says:

The police are bringing AB back to Florida. Maybe we could bond him out? J/K

  17. 813bucboi Says:

    encouraging news!!!!!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  18. buc4evr Says:

Godwin will probably end up like Ryan Jensen. I really don’t expect him to play again. I suspect Evans won’t return either and will probably retire at the end of-the season. I do not believe word the Bucs say about injured players. so I am just planning for the worst. lol. Wish the Bucs would have traded for a vet WR.

  19. BucU Says:

Don’t worry folks. Todd keeps saying everybody’s “week to week”. Only thing is these weeks are turning into months.

  20. TampaBayBucFan Says:

Again…..TBBF is still waiting for Carl Nicks’ toe to heal!!!

  21. BucU Says:

    Bug4ever I agree with you 💯.

  22. Jp1979 Says:

We just need everybody back by the time we play the Rams

  23. Oxycondomns Says:

last time goedeke was limited during the week and questionable for a game was when he played and injured himself for these 2 months.

  24. johnnythemoon Says:

CG14, I Never bought he left 12mill on table with Pats …prob was dependent on passing a physical which he could not do….Never got resigning him for that much money.

  25. Tucker Says:

@BuucccNASTY no I don’t get your point next years pick don’t do anything for this year and there is no guarantee that they will be any good when you keep them for all the hits Jason has had he has had more misses because in the end the draft is a crap shoot. Get a proven player to help for this year’s push I would have been all for but that’s not what happened so we move on. go bucs.

  26. Saskbucs Says:

Can’t believe how many people in here are saying Godwin isn’t important haha.

Without Mike, Chris is super important to take some heat off Egbuka. I like Tez and Shepard but they are tiny! Godwin not big but he’s tough and as long as he returns with his hands intact this time he will move the chains.

  27. Ellisarmy Says:

My hope is that we can make it to the playoffs without anymore injuries get some guys back and make a run at it. As bad as I / we all wanted a trade, we draft too well to waste a move like that to eat up cap for the picks we end up paying. Bakers about to be PAID!! Defense will hold it down, I know Dennis has had issues, but with all of our DB’s healthy we can play dime on passing downs.

  28. BigMacAttack Says:

I’d give Luke another week. He’s too valuable to take a chance on, or give him limited reps to get a feel for it. The only thing worse than an injury is a back too soon re-injury because it’s usually worse the second time. O linemen and D linemen are in the trenches pushing massive weight around every play. It’s not the same as run around and catch a pass or make a tackle. It’s on hoss on hoss every play pretty much. There’s no dodging it and what’s the cost if he stumbles? Baker MFn Mayfield. He’s our Ride or Die. We need lots of TE help on the O line.

  29. CleanHouse Says:

How are they getting away with not putting Godwin on IR? Am I missing something? Are they just settling for leaving guys on the active roster who are physically unable to perform? I’m assuming Licht and crew are massaging the system as they typically do. I’m just curious about the mechanics of it all. Could someone explain?

  30. Rover Says:

Just overall frustrated and honestly disappointed in this management of injuries. When Bowles is eventually fired, i will yell from the rooftop how trash his handling of injuries has been. Its far beyond not tipping off opponents, its a slap in the face to fans. Go Bucs? (Whats left of them)

Since the premise of your post is that the Bucs are somehow cheating or ‘getting away’ with something, go and look up how fans come up with ludicrous ideas and after that NFL injury policy. Google is your friend.

  32. Winny Testaverde Says:

Top 3 receivers from 2024 are injured/non factors in 2025…with little hope of that changing…

No Bucky Irving for more than a month…

Yet The Bucs are 6-2…pretty amazing actually.

  33. cmurda Says:

Monday Morning QB up in here. I love the after the fact people. It’s comical. The same people, which was most of us, wanted Godwin to get paid and stay. Now, healing from a brutal injury has been a little slower than we hoped, you want to crucify him and your GM. Give the man a chance to really come back and get a few games under his belt. Then, we can talk about Godwin’s status with the organization. Devin White was absolutely worth the 5th overall pick. Did you happen to see his dominance in the playoffs? We win a Superbowl and you will downplay both of these gentlemen’s massive impact toward our 2nd Championship. I’ll go back into hibernation now.

  34. ChiBuc Says:

Tbh, not really chomping at the bit for Godwin’s return. Too much rust. Rather have a rookie whose been producing than get back on that Godwin see-saw (“see” him for a couple of mediocre plays, “saw” him leave injured again). Personally, I would have dangled him out there as trade bait. JL could have saved his valuable picks for someone who potentially could contribute to a SB this year. Truth, Godwin is one of the good guys, but where do good guys finish?

  35. FortMyersDave Says:

Someone in the media should ask Jason and Bowles why they did not put Bucky and Godwin on the IR. Seems like it could have freed up a couple of roster spots and you never know when you will find a diamond in the rough. My guess is that they either had setbacks a few weeks back or the team got bad advice from the medical staff which means someone dropped the ball and should be held acciuntable. Why have a 51 man roster instead of 53 man roster?

No, No, maybe (for a 7th, definitely), Yes, maybe, maybe, YES

and definitely for Culp, Klien, Braswell, Hall, Durham all Licht guys who made the team. I see no problem with trading a known commodity for a scratch off ticket. Just bc JL is on a roll atm, it does not predict the future

  37. BPBucsfan Says:

Probably should’ve traded for either Myers or Shaheed. Evans probably retires and would’ve had a decent receiver to take his place. So getting a receiver wouldn’t have been just a rental.

  38. cmurda Says:

FortMyersDave. My son and I were discussing this earlier. We came to the same conclusion you did. I lean towards bad medical staff advice. Can’t typically blame injuries on the training staff. It does make me wonder about the training and medical staffs on this team.

  39. Yeahmetoo Says:

The defense is going to have to win this game for us just like
The win in new orleans. Id expect the same offensive struggles as no changes
Have been made. They ll attack our linebackers and Maye is the
Best in the league against the blitz. So we either get some pass
Rush or its going to be a long afternoon and 2 tough games after thst.

    —-
His shoulder is the concern w/ Bucky. Exactly the injury, I doubt they’ve given anything more specific than that.

  44. BucaneroJim Says:

First thing… will Baker be healthy? EE, Tez and Shep aren’t the only targets… Otten, Culp, Miller are all capable. Bake if healthy, can spread it around. If not healthy, he will struggle to pass to anyone.

  45. Beeej Says:

They believe Bucky had a separated shoulder

  46. Bucsking813 Says:

Bucs are bringing in OBJ in December. Godwin nor McMillan will play again this season. Not my choice I’m just a couch coach. So what do I know

Does anyone know the exact injury Bucky is dealing with? Shoulder subluxation is a partial dislocation of the shoulder joint, where the ball of the upper arm bone (humerus) slips partly out of the shoulder socket

  48. Bucs4Ever Says:

Godwin signing was a huge mistake. Love teh guy but what a waste of assets and cap

  49. Marky mark Says:

    Elevate greene

  50. Rod Munch Says:

I said before the year no one should expect Godwin back until the 2nd half of the year – likely more towards Thanksgivings, with the goal off getting him up to full speed by the playoffs. I was frankly shocked he returned so early – seemed like good news, but instead it seems like he came back a bit too early. No difference to me, the timeline is going to basically work out to be the same – but the drama queens are quick to tell you he’s done, blah blah blah. Do me a favor and go f yourself if you post that.

The fact the medical team blew it on Godwin and Bucky, not putting them on IR and missing their return windows by this much, people need to be fired. I’m not one of the idiots that thinks the injuries are due to the staff (everyone is getting injured, not just the Bucs), but being able to manage injuries is a huge role of the medical staff and clearly they don’t know what they’re doing and they’ve cost the Bucs multiple roster spots for multiple weeks – in addition to returning Godwin and Luke too early the first time around.

  51. Outrigger Says:

Doubtfull JMac returns this season. Godwin will return at some point. Bucky concerns me the most. Hopefully if he comes back, they won’t run him into the line 20 times a game like they did before. I really wish they would’ve traded for a receiver also. These next 3 games are crucial. I don’t see them going better than 1-2 in this stretch at best.

  52. FortMyersDave Says:

BucsKing813, if I recall correctly, a lot of Baker’s problems in Cleveland started when the Browns acquied OBJ from the NYG. Beckham and his old man started whining about not getting the ball enough and probably undermined the locker room. I also remember something being mentioned here on JBF or one of the other Buc outlets that Devon White was not a fan of Baker when Bakaer came on board and “won” the competition from Trask. i would guess that White heard some bad intel on Bake via the LSU grapevine coming from OBJ. That being said, I think OBJ could be a locker room cancer, notice how he has bounced from team to team, never sticking on a roster? No way the Bucs bring him in. I doubt they will do nothing except the usual transactions on the practice squad where guys come and go on occasion.

    *******************************

I feel the same way – unless the team is selectively taking the medical staff’s ‘best case scenario’ outlook presented to them in handling injuries on the IR/roster side of it. Bucky, Chris and Jalen all have subjective timetable injury returns. Each has a complex injury beyond a ‘simple’ grade 1/2/3 hamstring pull.

    ———-

I’m with you on Jmac – stupid Teddy ‘Hospital Ball’ Bridgewater putting him out for the year is beyond disgusting – and Bowles lying about the injury at the time to try to dampen criticism is disgraceful. Overall I think Bowles has been doing a good job, but he handled everything about that poorly.

As for Bucky, I’m not actually worried at all. It’s a shoulder, a wear and tear part, on an undersized guy – and frankly the Bucs haven’t needed him all that much, not yet anyways. I think they’re actually doing the right thing in this case and taking it slow, maybe being a bit overcautious since White has been doing a really good job. Also keep in mind White is in the last year of his deal, and teams often like to use guys in those situations instead of their guys under contract if they can – because you want to reduce wear and tear. Anyways, I could certainly be wrong, just guessing based on limited info – but I think when he’s back he’ll be able to carry the full load if they need him to — like if White was to get injured — but they might artificially limit him a bit if they can and still keep winning.

  55. LakelandSteve Says:

Not worried a lot about Godwin right now but we sure could use Bucky Irving. I’m not sure why there is such an information shut down on Godwin and Irving. It’s not like we are trying to make teams prepare for them or anything. They aren’t even practicing so why the secrecy.

Not worried a lot about Godwin right now but we sure could use Bucky Irving

    ———-

I feel the exact opposite. At WR the Bucs have e2 and not much else. Tez is a great story, and I was way higher on him than most everyone else here all offseason – but I was high on him as a #5 WR, maybe even a #4, but not as a #2 or #3, that’s where his size will likely end up limiting his upside (to be clear, I’m not down at all on Tez, but just never saw him as a starter – that’s a difficult ask for a guy at his extremely low weight as starting corners will jam and knock him around). Getting Godwin back would be huge, even if he’s not 100%, as it won’t let teams exclusively focus on shutting down DoubleE.

As for Bucky, he’s a superstar player, but the playcalling as been mostly terrible this year and the run game isn’t creative at all – getting back Bucky won’t suddenly fix that as we saw him for 4 games and he was averaging a half yard less per carry than White is. With more carries, Bucky will pass White in ypc, that’s not the end all stat, but the run game will not suddenly be fixed unless the Wiz Kid OC actually goes back and watches some tape and sees the Bucs were successful running the ball last year because they were not completely predictable and were very creative in the run game. Hopefully the man from Lot Lizard spent the bye week studying what Coen did last year and we’ll dramatic improvement in how he’s calling games coming up.

  57. Bucks 'n' Bucs Says:

Emeka has had a tough time the last few games because he’s never been a #1 receiver (in addition to the hammy.) At OSU he had Garrett, Harrison, Olave and Smith getting all the attention and double teams. Same here in the first few games. He’s still learning how to navigate around all this extra coverage. But he is a quick study and I’m hoping this game will be his coming out party in the spotlight.

    Go Bucs!!

  58. Rod Munch Says:

Bucks ‘n’ Bucs – I think e2’s struggles the last two games are mostly on Baker flat out missing him when he’s been wide open. But additionally, in the Saints game in particular, he looked off, a bit sluggish and not as crisp as he normally is. If he’s healthy and back to full speed he should be good – but this will be a tough test as the Pats have two very good corners, and no one else to focus on. If they scheme e2 out of the game, I think it’s Otton who is going to need to step up and have a big day – along with White in the passing game.
