Todd Bowles Updates Baker Mayfield’s Condition
November 24th, 2025As you likely already saw, Joe’s photographer on the scene in Los Angeles had one of the first pictures of Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield with his left arm in a sling.
Thank goodness it isn’t his right arm.
Bucs coach Todd Bowles gave an update in his postgame remarks about Mayfield’s condition.
“Right now he has a shoulder sprain,” Bowles said. “He’ll get an MRI [Monday].”
Mayfield initially had to go to the peep show medical tent after throwing a touchdown pass to Tez Johnson (who held onto the ball a lot better than Cade Otton).
Mayfield ran for two first downs on the drive and he took shots on those runs. It didn’t appear Mayfield injured his shoulder on the touchdown pass. He emerged from the medical tent looking fired up and ready to sling it.
After Bucs coach Todd Bowles panicked and went for a fourth-down conversion from the Bucs-28 with less than two minutes left in the half, it appeared Bowles was waving the white flag — yet he kept a banged-up Mayfield in the game. On the final play of the half, Mayfield rolled to his left to avoid pressure and heaved a desperation throw. As he did, he landed on his left shoulder and that is what appeared to do him in.
He lay on the turf for quite a while.
The next Bucs fans saw of Mayfield, he was wearing a sling around his left arm.

Bowels only makes poor decisions.

Bad Coaching
Bad Management
…..the Glazers cannot hide from this now

Sad but he will be out for the year. Get ready for Blooper ball.
November 24th, 2025 at 1:18 am
Nah Grover, Baker will play but he did that before in Cleveland, playng hurt and it did not go well. He will take needle and gut it out.

Bowles has zero feel for the flow of the game or what to do in criticism situations. This is who he’s always been. Though the first 6 weeks or so this season it appeared as if he had grown, but then he regressed back to his normal state of mediocrity and stubbornness.
BTW- speaking of regressing… Wirfs, Otton, Winfield, McCollum… all look worse than ever.
November 24th, 2025 at 1:53 am
The glazers won’t fire Bowles they are too afraid of how it will look to the media, no way Bowles gets fired, they are scared of being labeled.
November 24th, 2025 at 1:55 am
Literally could be anywhere from doesn’t miss a game, to missing 3 games – assuming it’s not a major injury.
Lets go for zero weeks since Bridgewater is terrible and has no business being in the NFL.

Thank God Bowles upgraded to Dready as backup. His experience will have to carry us, because his legs can’t carry him, and his arm looks like a limp noodle!

Shocked, heartbroken, disappointed. Going through the stages of grief.
Sure hope the MRI comes back clean. Baker plays his heart out every single game. He has the grit but when he was pressing his left shoulder after the TD, all of our hearts fell for sure.
Collinsworth said, “He brings the energy into the room.” Unfortunately, they really didn’t look in-sync. Something is broken. Teddy did the best he could and he had been on the DNP for personal reasons. So there are things going on off and on the field.

Wow what a great time to be a season ticket holder-You have to hold Jason accountable for some of this as other teams tried to get better with trades as the Buccs did nothing. Just think if the team did not institute the next year season tickets how many people would bail out-should have went with my gut and opted out of this next year …

From the medical staff to the front office not being able to draft fierce pass rushers who actually sack the Qb . From the rookie play caller who can not set up plays for a full game to the water boys who I’m sure prob miss mouths and just water the face , this team is trash . This defense as it have been saying is always a dumpster fire when they actually play good teams . Nothing has changed from last year as they just never get off the field & let good teams march right up & down the field . What happened last year during the playoff game ? No punts ! Yep more of that from toilet todd & his band of broken junior varsity players . Between that and most work for Vegas anyways , this game has become unwatchable

Should have kept Trask but y’all wanted him gone so bad to protect Baker Mayfield from probably losing his staring job . Now we have Bridgewater and he’s washed up but just like I said Bowles plays the players he likes and not the players that deserve to play. And Jason Licht is not a good GM no more excuses.l
.

Our great GM passed up 2 good DT for a center in last year draft . This guy is not a good GM at all. He never makes move during the trade deadline and he passes up on good DT for a center that would have been their in the second round.

Get ready for at least 5 more mentions or articles on Bowles “bad decision”. I swear, the fans of this site know more about football than the writer(s). I agree with the earlier comment from Rod Munch. If anything, going for it on 1st down was the opposite of giving up. Say :hi” to Johnny for me.
November 24th, 2025 at 8:02 am
For once Rod I agree with you. But they need to replace Bridgeovertroubledwaters rather v than just hope Baker heals, fast. I will do some research.

Didn’t Baker have a left shoulder injury in Cleveland that derailed his career? He tried to play through it and played awfully, understandably so.
Let’s call it. 6 games left and they may win 3. Probably only 1-2.
And I don’t think the fan base is going to buy into that this season was about injuries. I don’t think this fan base will accept any crappy sentiments about “being close.”
No. This season has exposed some guys.
It exposed cowards in uniform. Guys who have little pride. Guys who think they have already accomplished something by making a final roster.
They are soft.
November 24th, 2025 at 8:21 am
Again, I’m watching our receivers covered like blankets, with defenders knocking the ball away from them. And I’m also watching their guys running wide-ass open. I don’t understand it. The talent gap cannot be that big.
November 24th, 2025 at 8:36 am
Guys who are talking ish about light are either too young to remember what a bad gm is, or too old to remember much of anything. Deadline? Mortgage the future for THIS team? Why? It’s been depleted beyond the point of help. The only option is to be patient and hope we get right at the end. What would one trade have done aside from steal from tomorrow?
November 24th, 2025 at 9:08 am
AMI_Chris…. I think it is coaching. Remember Coach said we couldn’t give up the big plays, so played soft coverage. Bowles plays to no lose, rarely to win. The rams went for it on 4th down up 20+ points. The bucs punted to JA Everytime it was fourth and what did he do? Scored 6 TDS.
November 24th, 2025 at 9:19 am
I would rather have Connor Ballsak in their as Teddy looks done
November 24th, 2025 at 10:12 am
Agree on Connor over Teddy. Bridgewater is unplayable.
